Don't Waste Your Money!
These speakers, in one word, suck.I made the mistake of buying them because they were so cheap.I guess I forgot the old adage "You Get What You Pay For", didn't I?

Purchased these speakers for my 88-year old mother so she wouldn't disturb her neighbors with the volume up so loud on her TV.They are WONDERFUL!She LOVES THEM!! Semi-pleased
I bought 2 sets of these speakers after looking into several other brands and found these to be the best price value.I'm semi-pleased witht their performance.I bought them to replace my computer speakers because I have a laoptop and an ipod where I store ALL of my music.I like the fact that if I want music in many rooms of my house, I don't have to move the whole laptop as well as a small set of speakers.I leave my laptop hooked to the transmitter in the living room and have music in any room I want, including outside.

Could be worse
I bought one of these a few years ago -- not from Amazon. Most of the time it collects dust in the corner, but occasionally I remember to bring it outside for a party or while doing yard work and it works as advertised. You have to fine-tune it to work on the proper frequency -- and the interface is not intuitive (one can easily change the frequency and terminate the reception while trying to adjust the volume) -- but it saved me from buying a full set of outdoor speakers. Not a glowing review, to be sure, but it's better than a one-star product.

Did not work
This product simply did not work. I returned it (no questions asked) and purchased a wireless speaker at Brookstone which although more expensive...$150...works very well.

Poor Sound Quality
There is not much to say about these wireless speakers.Their sound quality is very poor and represents an excessively high price to pay for the convenience of avoiding the installation of wires.

Advent AW870 Wireless Powered Speakers
The sound quality is below par. NO base and there is a constant hissing sound. When the volume is increased the sound gets very distorted. The advantage is that it is very easy to set up any where to about 150' away without runnig wires. Good additonal set of speakers to setup in different locations outside/indoor in a small area for parties but not a good set of speakers to listen too as your main speakers.

Features and Drawbacks
The only bad thing I can find about these speakers is the occasional interferance you get if you are at a certain spot near the speaker.However I live in an apartment and have not fully been able to test any distance limitations.That being said... these speakers were perfect for what I needed(moving computer audio to another room).The coolest thing is you can just unplug the speaker and take your music to whichever room you want to chill in.Also I know when I get instant messages wherever I am and have remote management setup so I can control the sharing machine from any computer on my network.If you have a network these are an excellent addition in almost all cases...hence 5 stars from me ... Not a good product...
Unfortunately this item didn't work at all straight out of the box.Spoke with tech rep from manufacturer and trouble shot the speaker system to no avail.Luckily for me Advent happily accepted the return and upgraded me to the Acoustic Research Speaker, model AW-811 which works wonderfully!

We are enjoying this speaker!
I bought this speaker about a month ago to use near our hot tub. So far, we have used it daily (on batteries) and it has been working perfectly. The sound is a little "tinny" at low volumes but it sounds surprisingly good at higher volumes. We even bring it out to the swing-set while watching the kids play. It's also great for game night. I use this primarily on my computer and listen to internet radio so this allows me to listen to my internet radio stations anywhere in the house or yard. I'm giving it 5 stars because it has delivered what I have expected. The only thing I wish it had was a carrying handle like the other model does. This model was less expensive though and worth it.

Annoying popping noises.
I've had these speakers for about 3 years now and I'm really not happy them. There is some hissing but that is to be expected with wireless speakers. The most annoying thing is the popping noises. I have tried moving the speakers closer to the transmitter only to find that the distance makes no difference. I thought the popping noise was some kind of local interference so I actually walked all around the yard but the noise stayed the same. I got a warranty replacement of the transmitter because when I moved the attached antenna it caused static in the speakers and I thought perhaps the antenna was somehow not properly connected inside the housing but the popping noise persisted.
Not great - loads of static
I agree with the previous reviewer - there is a lot of static and interference with these things.We actually hardly ever use them for that reason - our house is small enough that we can hear the music from the other room through walls and doorways, and at least it doesn't sound like an AM radio on a stormy day. Also, they do have huge "wall warts" - the big converters (?) on the cords.Finding an inconspicuous place to plug them in is impossible, since all the inconspicuous places are behind furniture, which can't be put close to the wall anymore for the size of the things on the plugs.I guess you get what you pay for - I would have paid more if I had known how bad these would be.

Not the greatest, and now dead
I've had these speakers for three years now. Hissing, popping, not holding signal-- all that has been true from day 1. And tonight, one of the speakers just would not turn on. The power supply wasn't the problem-- it's something inside the speaker box, and something that apparently cannot be fixed.

Ok when paired with the XT2 speakers
I purchased this subwoofer to accompany the XT2 usb speakers I purchased at Amazon. I was expecting deeper bass from the sub when I took it out of the packaging but with some manipulation of the settings in iTunes and a few other programs I have managed to get a nice bass sound out of the speakers. Aesthetically the sub looks really well and blends in with the colors in my office. They work well with the XT2 speakers and if I choose to purchase another set I would definitely buy the sub to go with them. I spent the first couple days after receiving these speakers trying to decide whether to return them or not.The technology seems to be incredibly sensitive to any number of things.I'll try to list some suggestions for things to try before you give up on them.
simple and convenient
With all the failed trials of poor quality of 900 MHz and X-10 wireless audio, I've been waiting for audio powerline products for years. Finally!!! This is the first product of its kind and I can't understand why these speakers aren't in every store around the country. They are cheap, you don't have to run wires through your house, and you don't have to configure some confusing and expensive computer based wireless systems with all their components and software. It's perfect.

Lots of background noise and they kept shutting off
I thought that these would make a good pair of surrond sound speakers as no wiring would be required. However, the transmitter kept automaticallly turning off even when the sound was on. Even when they were on, there was quite a bit of background noise.

What a great find for a simple home speaker system.
I was looking for a simple, yet quality, set of speakers to go with our PC-based DVD system.The wireless nature of these speakers was a real selling point for me as I didn't want to have to worry about running wires and I wanted to be able to easily reposition the speakers.The only down side I've found in my use of these speakers is that when I put them in a new location I sometimes have to play with the direction they are pointing to get an optimal signal.I am considering purchasing more of these to use on my home office computer. ... I've enjoyed these speakers
I've had my WSP200 speakers for several years and have never had any trouble. And I move them all over the house, wherever I want to hear whatever I'm streaming over the Internet. They work in mono or you can place two speakers in the same room and switch one to the left channel and one to the right, and get stereo. I'm going to buy a couple more.

Not so bad!
When I saw the other rviews I just had to say something.We've had a pair of these for several years and we love them.They do not like having mobile phones around but otherwise they are great.I don't know about speakers quitting working, etc., but I wonder if those folks' batteries went dead.We did have to replace a battery once.
