5-0 out of 5 stars Finally a mouse without annoyances
I've gone through about 6 different mice, and each one had their pros and cons (mostly cons).I finally found the MX518, and trust me, you don't know what you're missing until you've used it.
5-0 out of 5 stars Beautiful.
I ordered this on the 31st and it came earlier today, 2 days before it was due. Very nice shipping by Amazon. I had a mouse with a ball before this, so I'm still getting used to the drastic change. It's much smoother. The only things which had me concerned about this mouse were that it looks somewhat big and it looked like the gray part was a baggy plastic covering which I feared would cause sweating. Both of the fears were just that, I was surprised to see that it was probably around 50% smaller than I expected it and the plastic covering is just a brilliant paint job. The buttons near the mousewheel, more specifically the one furthest back, can be a bit uncomfortable to use but other than that I have no problem with the mouse. Five stars!

4-0 out of 5 stars Cool looking mouse...Good for gaming... Not sure how long it will last.
I like this mouse, but I am not sure how long it will last.I play a right-clicking game, and it seems that the right click is going. No problems yet, but I am not sure. This is great for casual gamers, but the jury is still out for hardcore ones. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars So much better than a mouse!
I have 2 cordless TrackMan Wheels & 2 corded versions. I can't stand to use a computer that is not eqiped with one. It makes so much more sense to to simply use my thumb to navigate rather than having to keep picking up the mouse and moving it to get to whereever it is you are trying to go and ran out of mousepad before you could get there. The TrackMan is very sensible and reliable. Why they don't quit making mice and make more of these is beyond me. The people who don't like trackballs have just never really used a trackball. They must be same people that have made American cars cushy and buy iPods.

3-0 out of 5 stars Great fit, awful to clean
It fits my hand well and is very responsive to small movements, however the trackball collects gunk and is extremely difficult to clean. You can't simply pop out the trackball and wipe down the contact points; you need a screwdriver and at least a half hour of patience to put the pieces back together.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fits the bill
There is everything positive about this product and nothing negative....

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Trackball Ever!
I have always been a fan of Kensington trackball products, and I thought they had cornered the market with their previous gray and blue model.I was skeptical about replacing that one; but after four years of use, the moving parts were no longer in prestine condition.Fortunately, I had the opportunity of using the new model at work, and I was convinced that this optical K Mouse was well worth owning. Its smooth movement made computer use more enjoyable, and its contour design reduces my wrist stress factor to zero. This input device is awesome!

2-0 out of 5 stars Not broken in - Heavy ball
I bought two of these and have only used them a couple days. What I dislike most about it is the weight of the trackball. It is too massive to expect to be able to use delicate movements of one finger. It looks like a pool (table) ball that is especially painted.I have a little arthritis and at first I thought I would have to return it.It was annoying to see that the three little red balls that hold up the trackball were so stiff it made the trackball hard to turn.Turning it upside down and rolling it around helped but the stiffness was noticeable for hours. Not what I expect in a quality product. I use the ball with two fingers. The weight of the ball makes the whole thing topheavy so it is difficult to balance on my lap (where I usually use it). I did not like the size and placement of the buttons because there is no really comfortable position for my large hand.I think if Kensington kept the radial design of the buttons but made more of them and if the buttons extended further then I could use their programmabiltiy to get a good fit.
5-0 out of 5 stars Great, but DON"T WASH THE BALL...
The advice to wash the ball is wrong. I did, and the ball would barely move... friction. Untill Irubbed a little skin oil on it... then it flew! Continues to spin with the slightest toch. It's great. I laughed, I cried. I'll never go back to a regular mouse ever! ... Read more

Reliable optical technology combined with an innovative scroll wheel that acts as a third button sets Logitech's 904353-0403 Trackman Wheel Optical apart from ordinary trackball mice. Patented optical technology provides superior precision, reduced wear, and smooth motion, and eliminates the need for regular cleaning. The ball is ideally positioned for thumb operation, and the comfortable shape of the mouse allows for strain-free extended use. 5-0 out of 5 stars Love it...
This is my first trackball mouse, and I am so happy that I discovered it. This mouse is the perfect size for my hand and has become even more natural over the past few months than a regular mouse...
5-0 out of 5 stars Trackball a must!!
I have always sworn by Logitech Trackballs, and this one did not disappoint.Very comfortable, easy to use, and a great price.

5-0 out of 5 stars Solved my RSI issues
I was very reluctant to try a ball instead of a mouse, but my IH ergonomist said she would stop nagging me if I tried this for a week and if I did not like it she'd switch me back. After two days I told her she was not getting the Trackman Wheel back. That was five years ago and since then I have insisted on these on my computers at work and bought them for my computers at home, all told I've acquired about six of these little guys. I love them.

1-0 out of 5 stars My hand is numb.
My work place recently bought these for our workstations. It has caused about 30% drop in speed of service. Most of this is due to anesthetize effect of long term use. The other problem that has occurred is lack of fine control. After dealing with these trackballs I have come to the conclusion that they must be designed for gamers that use it for two hours or less.

2-0 out of 5 stars blugggh!
all i can tell you is i tried to save money by purchasing this mouse. my boyfriend lost partial mobility of his hand a week into using this THING.... and seriously he could not move his hand without it hurting. i found it very uncomfortable and difficult to master using myself... i say forget saving money and save your hands! spare the extra ten bucks and buy a better mouse. stick with logitech, they have awesome mice USUALLY- just don't buy this particular design. it is awkward!

1-0 out of 5 stars Not the trackball I was searching for.
I'm a lefty, and I've been searching for a trackball mouse I could use on a CAD program. This isn't it.Though it is similar to the Logitech Trackman wheel (for right hands), the scroll functions are put into two seperate buttons, instead of one wheel. So for any of you who have programs with functions built into pressing the scroll wheel, it just doesn't work. Also, the track ball in the center is not as ergonimic as it should be, as you use fingers instead of thumb to control. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Hands down the best mouse you can get for your laptop
This is a very high quality mouse and it's extremely portable.I've had this mouse for over two years without any problems. It's extremely accurate b/c of it's optical light, but it's main strong point is the fact that you can wrap the cord around the mouse for storage.Definitely one of the best investments I made for my Sony VAIO.

5-0 out of 5 stars Accurate, but a little small (it *is* a Notebook mouse)
The best feature in this mouse is the way the cord winds around the base- pure genius. It works as it should, but try getting a mouse pad- I know they call it an all terrain sensor- But it's not. When used with a pad or on a white smooth surface, it works like a dream.
5-0 out of 5 stars Best Notebook Mouse
You have to consider that wire mouse is better in all category compare to wireless just name apart. Wireless is freedom but battery takes it back. This mouse is perfect if you have USB port on right side of your laptop (if you are righty or left side for lefty) so short wire isn't a problem. Just love it the way USB wire get wrap around and takes no space in laptop bag. Performance is not mean less compare to my home MX1000 laser mouse. You can't ask for more at low price ($13)..enjoy ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Very comfortable
This is the most comfortable mouse-type input device I've ever used. Of course, that's only out of a few other trackballs and a whole lot of mice. But it allows me to keep my wrist more neutral. It tracks very well. If it gets gummy, the ball is easy to pop out and clean on my shirt. After several years of use, I've lost one of it's little rubber feet and the nonslip coating on the surface of the dark gray area in the center is starting to peel away.

5-0 out of 5 stars review for optical trackball
I've been working with a trackball for eons.Had to replace the one I was using because hey...evolution means USB!This trackball is fantastic. It's so smooooth in it's movement.I had already bought one for home... and bought another for work.Go for it. you'll love it!

3-0 out of 5 stars Kensington trackball mouse
The placement of the right button is esthetically pleasing but physically uncomfortable as it interferes with the holding of the mouse and negotiating the trackball. I continuously have to reset the menu that pops up when I accidentally touch the right button. It needs to be moved so the hand doesn't rest on it or have to be held up off the mouse to keep from hitting it. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The perfect mouse for me!
I bought this mouse about three months ago, and I love it.It works on every surface, and the scroller works well too.The only complaint I have is that the cord is rather short (about 2.5 feet long), and it plugs into the left-hand side of my laptop, which means that I only have about a foot to work with.Although, I think that complaint can be shared equally with the Dell people for putting the USB port on the left (good deal for the left-handed population, I guess). Some people have complained about the wind-up function for the cord getting tangled, but I haven't had any problems with that.

4-0 out of 5 stars Perfect mouse for traveling - 2 thumbs up!
This mouse has made traveling with my laptop so much easier. Even though I tend to be an avid user of the track-pad on my PowerBook it can become very tedious and making room for a large mouse has made packing tricky. Since purchasing this mouse I've had no problems and have increase my productivity while on the road. It has also made it easier for those non track-pad users to jump on to my computer without a problem.
5-0 out of 5 stars Small but mighty
Works excellent. Just got it.Plugged it right into my notebook and BAM it works just fine.Small, I wouldn't recommend it for long use, but it works great, and the trackwheel has a nice click when you rotate it.Can't beat it for the price. The retractable cable is sweet.A++ WOULD BUY AGAIN ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Very Nice
I bought this mouse about six months ago and I still think its the best mouse I've ever seen. The wireless works up to even 6ft away from the transmiter. It works better by putting the mouse and the transmiter in one level. The scroll is excellent (Right, left, top, and bottom.) I can't tell anything about the battary life because I'm using rechargable battaries. I think it would be still good to use regular battaries. The extra bottoms are usefull. You can change the functions. If you want to use them you have to install a software for it but if you don't its plug and play. I'm happy with my purchase.

1-0 out of 5 stars Poor wheel design

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Mouse, Good Value

2-0 out of 5 stars Craps out
This would have been a nice mouse if it continued to work properly. It worked fine for me for a little under a year and the click problem happened with me as well.I've owned 2 intellimouse mice, and both have died out on me.I've learned my lesson and purchased a logitech mouse, which has been working wonderfully.
3-0 out of 5 stars An All-Time Great with an Achilles Heel
As others have noted, the left mouse button glitch cripples an otherwise fantastic product (mine started to get quirky just a few weeks after it's purchase). The two buttons on the left side have become a "can't live without" feature. The 4 way wheel (up-down-left-right) has also come in handy at times. All buttons are very customizable too.

4-0 out of 5 stars On my third mouse of this model

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Inexpensive Mac Mouse
I bought this mouse to replace my Apple "roller ball" mouse that came with my 6 year old iMac. The Pocket Mouse is great. I just plugged it in and had no problem. Comfortable to use, not too small for my desktop computer.

1-0 out of 5 stars Keep Jumping around the screen
This mouse is cute and good-looking, but NOT recommended for everyday use. It keeps jumping around the screen every few minutes. Very annoying. ONLY BUY IT IF YOU WANT TO USE IT VERY OCCASIONALLY. I threw it into dust and switched to a microsoft mouse and now everything is just fine.

5-0 out of 5 stars Kensington's software (mouse drivers) for mac is AMAZING
Their software (mouse drivers) provides ability to customize (make your own) pop-up menu -- this is HUGE! Haven't seen it mentioned in the reviews, had to share. Researched (and have bought) most other brand mice, nothing else comes close (for the mac). The size/shape of the mouse works well for me, better than most others, although some of microsoft's are great ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Shape for Mouse EVER
First of all, I'd like to begin by saying that I've used almost all the mice out there. From the $60 Logitech G5 (supposed to be the most advanced mouse out there) and the $70 Razor Copperhead and I have to say, none whatsoever, can matchup to the legendary balled intellimouse series.
5-0 out of 5 stars it just feels right
what happens to Microsoft making all those new mice... the new ones don't fit the palm as nicely as the old one...
5-0 out of 5 stars A Mouse for the People!
In the theme of Volkswagen (meaning, "people's car") this is the mouse that started it all. It's still the best and even a little better because this same mouse went through the halls of engineering dozens of times since its inception.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Mouse, 1 issue
The mouse is great.I've bought 3 over the course of my life. Its perfect for laptop, a little short usb extention for desktop but highly recommend it for laptop only. The only issue I find upon this mouse is the wheel.Do not get me wrong there is nothing physical wrong with the wheel but when I am using Ventrilo with Warcraft III open.I am unable to use the wheel as a hotkey for my voice outbound. Most people dont use Ventrilo for WC III so why would that matter?Overall it is a great mouse at a great price that I highly recommend everybody to get.

4-0 out of 5 stars small-ish, NOT mini!
Sorry for the repitition.I read all the reviews that said the mouse wasn't mini but i bought it anyways thinking still it would be in between medium and small.Like another reviewer said, the size feels like a regular mouse.
5-0 out of 5 stars Mouse that works as it should
I've had this mouse for a little over a year now.I've been using it with my laptop. It has always worked as it should.I've never had any problem with it, despite few drops here and there.

5-0 out of 5 stars It has all what you need!
This mouse has never let me down. Really works on most of the surfaces.

5-0 out of 5 stars Kensington Simply Makes the Best Mice
I've been using Kensington for over 6 years. I've bought over 6 of the "Mouse in a box" mice for various businesses I've worked. I've never been sorry. This mouse is just the next step up. It's light weight with a nice grip. People complain about the two side buttons being hard to reach but I don't subscribe to this point of view. You can hit the side buttons easily with the side of your ring finger or your thumb. The side buttons are great for web browsing. I've set the left for "back" and the right for "forward." This speeds up the surfing process.
2-0 out of 5 stars Not good for gamer ...
I have had this mouse for about 2 months, with considerable use in FPS gaming. This mouse has a problem with lag between the time one clicks the left or right button and the actual action to take place on the screen. Not good for high action shooter games when instant response is essential. I have also found that the left and right buttons malfunction or stop working sporadically for no apparent reason. Thus my rating of two stars. ... Read more
