3-0 out of 5 stars Minor problems affect its usefulness.
Overall, the hardware and software both perform adequately, but I ran into some minor problems that affect the usefulness of this device. First, it drains batteries in a few days, whether you're using it or not, and when the batteries go dead, you lose any pictures or sounds left in memory. That means you have to download the pictures and sounds right away, unless you want to risk losing them. That's inconvenient. Switching resolution modes or using the device as a webcam forces you to clear the memory. That's also inconvenient. The camera requires a lot of light. It won't even try to take a picture if there isn't enough light. It just gives you a low beep. This affects its usefulness as a webcam, unless you have a lot of bright lights around your computer. Finally, the built-in speaker isn't very loud, so you have to hold it up to your ear to review what you've recorded.Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars IK-WB01 - Much like one of the above reviewers, I was mislead by the promise of "motion detection".
The camera's ability to "pan & tilt" and the 0.7 lux (low light) were my primary considerations for selecting this camera. It was between this IK-WB01 and the D-link DCS-950G.The D-link has better light gathering capability, but the coolness of pan and tilt won out!4-0 out of 5 stars Pretty good with some minor flaws
I have this and a DLink DCS-900W.Both can do 640x480 color, but the DLink costs about 60% as much. This camera is more than twice as good, as long as you don't need FTP.
1-0 out of 5 stars Toshiba's IK-WB01A is a disgrace!!
I am extremely disappointed with this camera. The manual is written in very poor English which I had a hard time deciphering and it doesn't explain some basic operations. I cannot imagine how Toshiba managed to get the best geeks in Japan to develop this camera but they couldn't get a professional translator to write up a manual in English. I know that most of their customer's speak English, so this doesn't make any sense.

1-0 out of 5 stars Micro-Innovations is a poor product
This camera works ok in windows 2000 but does not work at all with XP. I feel ripped off and will never buy a Micro Innovations product ever again.

2-0 out of 5 stars Looks nice, but doesn't work well.
I had the unfortunate chance to use this camera whilst staying with a friend. The quality is poor, grainy, and though it tracks well, the picture is inconsistant. The software may as well have been written by a five year old for all the good it works with XP. I liked the look, but even with all the lights turned directly in your face the picture quality is poor at best. Spend your money on something better, this product is definately a waste of hard earned cash.

1-0 out of 5 stars product does not work with Windows XP
Another lousy camera. Does not work with XP. Read a similar review, posted by someone else for the camera IC100C by the same company.Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Good Camera For The Money
If you really just want a cam to pay around with a bit now and then this is a great affordable little camera.I have net friends who liked my camera so much they went out and bought the same one.It does a good job for the money!I know several others who have bought realitively unexpensive webcams and did not get as good a performance.I've recieved a lot of compliments on this webcam.

1-0 out of 5 stars camera sucks
this camera sucks bigtime! i bought it and had a tough time installing it on my laptop (winXP).. the customer support is bad... the software has major problems...1-0 out of 5 stars Poor image quality
This webcam by Creative Labs is not too good. The image quality is poor even by webcam standard, and it does *not* have auto focus, which means you have to adjust the focus ring each time you move.Unlike Logitech's ClickSmart, you cannot use this one as a take-along digital camera. And even Ezonics makes cheaper and better-quality webcams than this. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Extremely Versatile and Indestructible Camera
I first purchased this camera in the spring of 2002.Since then it has very well documented my US Navy Deployments. It has taken decent photographs and digital-video movies of places like Venice Italy, Greece, The United Arab Emirates, And the U.S. Virgin Isles. It has travelled passed the sound barrier and taken shots while doing inverted 5g Aerobatics in an F-14Tomcat.It's been through the desert heat of a Persian Gulf Summer and the Cold of a North Atlantic Storm. And to top it off has survived my now four year old daughter and still ticking for my two year-old son.Needless to say this camera is INDESTRUCTIBLE!!!
3-0 out of 5 stars Good as a webcam. Horrible as a digital camera

4-0 out of 5 stars Pretty good camera
I bought this camera to monitor one of the retail stores I own.It works exactly as advertised with only one exception.
2-0 out of 5 stars Dissapointed
I was buying this cam as an upgrade to my Axis 2100 cam which I absolutely adored. The image on the 2100 was bright, vibrant, and very clear. The Axis 205 looked like the 2100 only better, so I didn't hesitate to purchase it when I started looking for another security camera.

1-0 out of 5 stars Stay away!!!
The image quality of this camera was not so great to begin with. To make things worst Kensington stopped supporting this camera a while ago and doesn't provide XP drivers so now as I upgraded to XP the camera is simply useless. Save your money and stay away from Kesington.

1-0 out of 5 stars Donate the money and get a tax deduction!
This camera is by far the worst I have ever seen. And in the past couple of years through work I have dealt with more than 8 different web cams. This crushed several computers and did work neither with PC nor with Mac. In fact when I tried to make it work with my Mac after several hours of continuous crushing I had to wipe the hard drive! I guess that it crushes both PC's and Mac's is the reason why they think this product is both platforms?!2-0 out of 5 stars Do not buy!
I bought this camera four months ago. This company is not making this product and will not give you any help. Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Good but has XP problems
This camera has amazing quality, no doubt.I've had one for a long time and coming from someone who has owned a total of 8+ webcams in her life, trust me when I say this was the best one I've had. However, this camera has issues with Windows XP.Even after downloading the patch on their website, the camera will still "scramble" it's pictures if you leave it on for longer than 5 minutes when using it as a webcam. So if you're doing a live feed to your website, every now and then it will scramble all the pixels on the feed.If you can deal with that, the camera is worth it.But if you plan on going live on cam for hours at a time, I would not recommend this camera.Go for something newer.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very durable and great.
I own it and it has been droped many times since santa gave it to me (about 2001 0r 2002). When I got it for christmas, it did not work with win xp or win 2000. My dad got me a program from intel's website wich would download the all the pictures on the camera. Now I use a driver from the same website. Then, I used the driver that came with the camera on an Win 98 pc. Today I use it a lot.It still works. Intel no longer sells this line.

5-0 out of 5 stars I love Intel- and this product is just more reason!
I have had limited exposure to video recording, but much use of Intel products, including the stock making me a first generation millionaire! I was skeptical about this product, given the lens configuration, data processing, and some other concerns.

5-0 out of 5 stars A bad deal with a good product
I'am sorry to said that 3 com drop the ball with a good product. If the company had any brains they would pick up this product and run with it.This camera has the highest quality and frame rate out of all cams out there. The problem is that 3 Com wont support the drivers for XP.So all I can say is that for a big company like 3Com wakeup and smell the coffee or in time you'll be out of business to.

1-0 out of 5 stars 3Com Doesn't Maintain Driver or Application Support
Once again 3Com has demonstrated they are more concerned with wrestling your money away from you than they are with your satisfaction with their product support.I bought 2 of these cameras in 1999 and have been using them to video conference with my kids while I'm away at my remote work location. They work great and the capture cards and software provided allow you to easily capture and edit video from a VCR.But I recently purchased new replacement PC's that run Windows XP and none of the application software or installation drivers will work.Nor is there any assistance for this product available at the 3Com product support web site.I applaud the high quality and service life of the 3com product, but really, what good is it if the drivers and applications aren't going to maintain compatibility with Operating System revisions? For product durability, ease of use, and application software I would rate this product 5 stars, but for customer support, or the total lack of, which has ultimately rendered my purchase unusable, 3com earns a big "Zero."

3-0 out of 5 stars 3Com no longer supports Big Picture
I purchased this cam several years ago and worked wonderfully in Windows 95 and 98.However, Windows 2000 will not recognize the driver.I contacted 3Com and was told that this product has reached the end of its life and they do not support it.If your OS is Windows 2000 (and probably XP too), do not buy this product. It will not work! ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Piece of junk!
I bought it because it was cheap. Yep, I was right, it is a CHEAP piece of junk. It'll install only on a select few XP machines. Mind you, I am quite technically inclined as I am a software engineer. I could not get this work on 4 of 5 xp machines. Spend a little more, get something a lot better!

3-0 out of 5 stars you get what you pay for
Of course, this is not the best webcam, but it is the lightest and easiest to carry around and install. I did not have any trouble installing it with Windows XP, and honestly, for the price, I cannot complain. You cannot expect a great resolution. It is a nice little toy.

1-0 out of 5 stars What a piece of junk!
This thing is a piece of junk!I tried installing it on my Windows XP machine it would not let me.Then I tried to install it on my old Windows 98 machine and I could not install it on that either.I am not an expert at installing things but I have never had this kind of trouble installing anything else ever. You are better off using the $20 as toilet paper or light it on fire for heat instead of buying this thing. If I could give it zero stars I would. ...
