Decent Performance, not great design
This is the first web cam I have used, so I don't have a baseline for what type of performance to expect. That being said, it delivers a good picture and it was very simple to setup, no drivers even needed for my XP setup.Word of caution, don't use the built in microphone if you already have one installed on your machine.I agree with the other review that commented on the un-sturdy base.Conversly, I did not have the problems with installing the camera.

the base of the camera is light and made of plastic, so the camera does not stay put on its base, but the base wobbles and moves around because it is so light.Windows XP plug and play does not recognize the camera even though it is USB.I was unable to find the driver for the camera on HP's website after trying for 1/2 an hour.If you lose the drivers that came with the HP product, it isquite difficult to try to find them on the internet of HP website! ... C'mon people it's a WEBCAM
I chose the logitech because it was a brand I had heard of and had decent specs for under 30 bucks. I'm using it so that someone can help me install something and see what I'm doing. It has about the resolution of a modern camera phone. I see some people complain about grainyness. However, you must realize that there is a trade-off with crystal clarity from a webcam and that's that unless you both are on T1 lines you're going to have to SEND all of that clarity and then you'd have severely lagging displays. Be sure the subject is well lit by more of full spectrum lighting (a really yellow lamp looks gross). Unless you're starting a naughty business and if you're just looking for a webcam so that you can chat to friends and go "this is neat" without any severe stipulations on what your demands will be it's just fine. The price is good, the design solid. Suits the average person's needs (webcam thrill will fade and you'll stop using it most likely). If you're going to need to see a loved one stationed overseas or for business use you should probably invest actual money into a quality cam. The stills are lame, get a digicam if you want super clear pics. Decent

Great Webcam
For the price - this camera is really good.It took me less than 10 minutes to install and set it up.It can take photos, video - the image is pretty clear and it has zoom capabilities.You can adjust the camera (swivel base) based on what is being viewed - or if you change positions.The microphone is sensitive.I am on the west coast and was talking to someone in the Midwest and she could hear me just fine when I was standing 15 feet from the camera talking in a normal voice.The picture was pretty clear with minimal delay.What more do you want for roughly 30 dollars?It'll be outdated soon - but for right now - this is a decent webcam.
My 1996 webcam was better!
What a joke.I am using this camera with my ibook G4 and boy the image quality is very, very poor.The video is also a joke, and the files are way too large.I believe that LogiTech stopped caring for Mac products so they are producing average at best mac hardware.Its amazing, because the best webcam I bought for a Mac was in 1996.That cam worked well in low light rooms, and did so much more and offered so much better software for the Mac os of the time than this camera.
Subpar on Mac
The Logitech Quickcam Zoom has been a pain in the neck to use on my Mac (iBook G3/700 running Evocam webcam software). On most days the video ouptut is jerky or nonexistent until the cam is unplugged then replugged, the "snapshot" button on top is prone to accidental pressing, the lens cover doesn't attach securely and tends to fall off, the screw attaching the camera to its malleable base comes loose too easily, and the image quality is average at best. It did work with Evocam, but caused more grief than I figured it's been worth these past few months, so I'm selling this off and getting me a Unibrain firewire webcam instead. ... Read more

Received this camera brand new as a gift.Attempted to install driver from the CD-ROM included with the package and it didn't work ("Driver openfail!").Tried all the usual tricks several times, still nothing.There is no company information or phone number or address for assistance in any of the paperwork.Interestingly, no online help, no help file for online resources, nothing to help with the failed driver. No good if you have Windows 2000
This works fine with Windows ME(with a patch)and Win98 but I mostly use Win2K. Intel offers a beta driver for Win2K but it doesn't work very well. no joy
I bought the camera to use with my wrt54G Linksys router as the reviews I'd read said the chances were best if you had the same vendor equipment. I set up the wizard to try and find the camera wireless but no joy. I'd read the wired hook up was a way to start and it found the camera. The problem came when it asked for an admin name and admin password. ????? I called tech support and wasted an hour an one half and still don't have the unit online. I was told use admin for the name and password both.

This is a great little cam!
It seems that only the people who have problems write reviews. I'm here to say that I had this linksys cam up, configured and viewing in less than five minutes. The new 802.11G model will make a 640 pixel image, but I think that if you are sendng between two DSL connections- the best you will get is 320 anyway (with any frame rate). OK, the low light picture isn't great, but under normal conditions with light filtering in from the windows, it's perfect.

Excellent WebCam & Digital Camera
I have in the past owned the 350 & 600 and was impressed with the features and clarity they both offered. The 350 is under 1 MP and the 600 is a 1MP. This 750 tops them all @ 2.1 MP. The dual fuctional webcam & digital camera with audio recording is an excellent value. Not to be offensive but this is a webcam-digital camera for dummies. I dont like complicated devices where you have to pour over a complicated instruction manual; then spend more time trying to figure out how towork the device. This is a point and shot easy to use device. Great for kids. We have droped ours twice and no adverse effect on the camera. Only 1 possible drawback is you have to 3ft to infinity auto focus. for shooting object less than 3ft I would not recommend this product. It is NOT a manual focus. The picture quality is excellent and so is the price.

Best Webcam for the money
Though the years we have tried different webcams offered here on Amazon and this is clearly the best one for the money spent. The resolution is excellent; better than the silver zoom that a friend has that cost almost twice as much. Picture isbetter than most we have seen in low light indoor conditions. Audio comes in loud and clear. Lots of software is included a picture album etc.
Easy to use
I been using the Logitech QuickCam Zoom for some months now and it has worked well. The image and light processing is better than other webcams that friends have. The microphone is also good for chatting in games. It also installs fast and works perfectly with Windows XP SP2. It can even be compared with the JVC digital camcorder that I have. The camcorder is a little faster with the brightness handling, but it does not have the face tracking utility of the Logitech QuickCam Zoom (this utility generally works but sometimes it might zoom in too much but it generally aims for the face of the subject. What I have to try is to use this feature when there is more than one person for the camera to track). I been testing the Logitech QuickCam Zoom hard because I'm using two Logitech QuickCam Zoom and they are both at 10000 km (its about 6200 miles) with a 256kbps connection. The image quality it's really good but the problem is the refreshing rate of the signal, it's slow. Most of the time chunks of the conversation are lost making the audio impossible to understand. This occurs every time when using the video conference option of the MSN Messenger, the webcam, and the audio conversation. It might be the software, the speed of the internet connection, the distance or a combination of all. This makes the chatting with another person not the most fulfilling experience, but you can still see the person on the other side. By the way fast movement makes the image quality worst. Finally considering the price, the features of the webcam, the compatibility with IM programs and the software included (very good and useful, it has a movement sensor that it can be use to look over a place and the photo editors are a great packed for a mid range webcam) makes a great buy.

I've found this cam works great for chat, and the included earpiece/mic is especially good compared to the bulky "full headphone" alternatives.Just wanted to offer a counterpoint to the guy who said it made ppl look like they do through your front door.

Good webcam
Firstly this is a great webcam with lots of features that you would not find in other webcams. the picture quality is really good. i bought this webcam when the price was around $75 so i was expecting quite a lot from this webcam. at that moment i thought the price was to high for what i received. but i think now at around $50 that is a fair price. so if you want to buy a webcam...buy this one...you won't be dissapointed for the $50 you will pay.

excellent product but no build in mic
All this cam needs is a build in microphone and I'd give it 5 stars (It comes with a head set)! Other than that I'm very satisfied with the product. I use it mainly for my mother to see her grandchildren, because she lives in Europe. Thats why I love the wide angle lens, they can run around and she can see everything. My other webcam would only get me sitting infront of the computer and nobody else, I didn't like that for my use. I guess it depends on what you use it for! Software Is Terrible(This Review Is For"Quick Cam Messenger"
The camera it self is small and compact and for the price is a good value...but what good is it if the software malfunctions.First of all the software disk is loaded with 3rd party software which means it contains "ADWARE"...the reasoning they tell you this is installed is for automatic updates....now seriously,how many updates do you get for a web cam?..wouldn"t it be simpler just to go to there site and check,instead of having a third party tracing your internet movements?...if you have SPYBOT or ADWARE on your PC run after you install the software and you will see what i mean....with the disk they supplied SPYBOT found 22 traces of "ADWARE"..so i unistalled the software disk and went to the LOGITECH site and downloaded the software from there and they state "no third party " from there site download...well load and behold when i ran SPYBOT and ADWARE i found none...but just for backup i used SPYSWEEPER which is a purchased program...and guess what...it located 7 traces of adware...the name of the adware that is installed is called"BACKWEB" ..now the real problem every once in awhile my PC will for no reason shut down...the problem arises from a bad driver issue within the LOGITECH software....they are well aware of the situation, but as of now they have not resolved it...bottom line is i will never purchase another LOGITECH product.

Almost perfect
I love: the crispy ,clear, bright pictures from this digital cam. The size is perfect. It's easy to use,and the fact that it comes with a case, tripod, usb cable, detachable carry strap, all included for under $80 bucks still impresses me.

I got this from AIPTEK in the summer of 2003, mostly because it was small enough that I could just slip it in my pocket. It's light, small, not as horribly draining on the batteries as my Kodak was, and I love it. Granted, I have since broken the shiny button cover off the button you press to take pictures, scratched up a lot of the paint on the case, and broken a bit of the battery enclosure off so it's hard to keep it shut... but this thing has stood up admirably against everything I've thrown at it, and made some awesome shots in the deal too. Definately Highly rated this for the price for the quality. You don't need more than 3-4 MP unless you're doing professional photography. The average person is fine in this range.
