5-0 out of 5 stars Wow!
For $500, you can get a 7 foot wide high quality image onto a DIY blackout screen.
4-0 out of 5 stars bang for the money
I bought the X1a after much researching during thanks giving weekend (...)and I alsobought the 3 year protection plan for $129.99 . I am satisfied with the quality of video i am watching through the projector. I live in an apartment complex and its bright during the day when i have to make the room dark but evenings and night excellent quality. it doesnt start up right away sometimes and i have to turn it off and on few times but that doesnt bother me much. I know its not great projector but for the cost its awesome. also if i get any of the problems the other reviewers have stated then i will be covered by warranty for 1 year by infocus and the following 3 years by officemax.

2-0 out of 5 stars X1A is not an X1!
In December 2002 I purchased an x1 (see my review under infocus x1) and this projector is still going strong and I love it. If you can find a used one, I would still definitely rcommend it. Note that if you are using it in a dusty area, you must clean the bulb filter about every six months (I blew the first bulb at a year by not doing this). However, I had a very different experience with the X1A.The composite video was never as good as the X1 which would seem to be because it has a different, inferior decoder. After a little more than a year it started making a loud buzzing noise and then it quit.Since I only had a 1 year warranty, I decided to just forget about it.I have since replaced it with a refurbished infocus 4805 which so far is working great and is reasonably quiet.

4-0 out of 5 stars Powerful, Portable but Noisy
Another excellent product from Panasonic! It's lightweigth and has a great lamp (2000 lumens for under $1k!). My only concern has to do exactly with what I was looking for in a projector: a powerful lamp. Because it is so powerful it has to have an equally powerful cooling solution. And thus the fan. Two noisy fans, actually.

The Optoma H79 home theater projector is ideal for the most discerning home theater enthusiast. It also offers a 4500:1 contrast ratio, native 720p resolution, and a bright 1000 lumens rating, to deliver quality HDTV images.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Near-Perfect DLP Projector
This is my fourth projector and my second unit using a DLP chip.I can easily see rainbows in single chip DLP projectors but this one almost completely eliminates them.I can still see a few rainbows, especially when there are bright objects in a mostly dark scene, but it's hardly noticeable to me and none of my friends have been able to see them yet.If you are one of the few people who are bothered by the rainbow effect, you may still want to demo this projector before purchasing it online.

1-0 out of 5 stars Worst projector our company has ever bought
They're small... They're beautiful... but they're totally unreliable. Of the 30 LP120 we own, only 3 of them have not yet required service( i said not yet...). I have 7 broken ones now. LAMP DID NOT STRIKE... LAMP SHUT OFF.....are usually the welcome message with the LP120.....BUYERS BEWARE..Turn around time for a repair 2 months....

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Projector No Problems So Far!
I have to admit that I was a bit scared after reading the reviews, but I found a good deal (a small business going out of business)!! I take this to friends' houses and hook it up to my laptop I take this all kinds of places! I haven't had a problem yet, but I will have to write another review if I do. This isn't the brightest ever, but for the size, it is better than I thought it would be. I am not sure what has gone wrong for other people with their units, but I have had mine for about 8 months now and I use it all the time! I will keep this updated if anything goes wrong.

3-0 out of 5 stars Delightful unless you care about colour
A gem of a machine spoilt by lousy colour rendition even by the low standards of projectors generally. The closest it can get to yellow is a mucky olive green.

5-0 out of 5 stars great projector
very bright and like the other reviewers have yet to see any rainbows after months of use. a ten foot screen is hard to beat and you really cannot go back to a regular TV after going this route. i am using a "goo" screen (painted on the wall) with very good results.

5-0 out of 5 stars Glued to my lazyboy...........
Excellent piece of kit. Great picture and when linked to a sound sytem plus a HUGE 7'X 5' screen then this is better than the movies. Rainbows......... not yet, only problem seems to be finding a replacement bulb when present one goes POP.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Picture -Great Value
Great 2000+ lumen projector for the cost. Great color/picture quality-HDTV even better. I use it as a home theater projector with a screen size of 96" (diagonal). Bright enough for a sunny day (may washed out if you have direct sunlight coming in the room).Great contrast. Some reviewers have mentioned rainbow effects -I have yet to see. I have being using projectors in my home theater for over 4 years and this is the best (bargain) projector I have used. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars InFocus LP70+ a huge MINUS
I work in the AV department of a large company. We no longer allow our employees to purchase InFocus projectors. We had a 17% failure rate. We purchased approximately 850 LP70+ projectors in the last 14 months. I still receive at least 5 a week that need to be sent in for repair to InFocus. Most are dead on arrival. InFocus claims they got a bad shipment of power supplies which affects SN range ANEN511XXXXX to ANEN535XXXXX. We have found this range to be false. Once past 30 days InFocus will not refund and will issue a like new unit, unless you are willing to wait 4-6 for repair. Spend your money on a Panasonic projector, We have over 3000 in service. I've had only 2 go down. They are brighter and more durable than comparable models from different manufacturers. DON'T BUY InFocus.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great mobile projector.
This is a great little projects if you travel. I use it teaching classes at my university as a backup when the room projector doesn't work. It's so portable you don't mind throwing it in your case with your laptop. On the road I take it even when there is supposed to be a projector, for those cases when the site projector is old or on the fritz.

3-0 out of 5 stars LP70+
I bought this projector for business presentations. It is very small and light weight. The first one I had failed immediately. The power supply was bad. I sent it to the repair facility in Louisville, KY. After a month they were still waiting for parts so they replaced it. The second time I used the new one it went dark midway through a presentation. It worked fine after I let it cool off. I really like the small size and power of the unit. I just hope that mine is an isolated case. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great 20" LCD TV for the Price!
Bought the 20" Toshiba LCD TV(20HL82) back in Dec '05.When the first shipment arrived, the LCD was damaged by the carrier(improper handling).Contacted Amazon and the problem was handled quickly and received the replacement before I even sent out the old one. It is always a pleasure shopping at Amazon! The LCD TV has crystal clear picture, theater-like sound quality, and slim stand. Able to watch TV, use it as a PC monitor, hook up to DVD player, etc. Cool.... It switches channels from the remote a little slow than normal but not a biggy.

1-0 out of 5 stars Bad design, bad customer service, chainsaw noise
After a lot of research we bought an X1 in July 2003 for home theatre use.For the price, you couldn't complain - we watched TV as well as movies and loved it so much that we recommended it to a friend who purchased one. About 3 weeks before the 2 year warranty expired it started getting noisy, but the problem would come and go so (regetably) we didn't act on it straight away.As it got worse we contacted Infocus who refused to do anything about it because the warranty period had expired. The noise was created by a problem with the fan that cools the colour wheel. The fan itself is probably a $20 part, but the bad design of the projector meant that you couldn't just replace the fan, but had to replace the whole colour-wheel assembly - at a cost of $1000 for the part!!! (more than the cost of the projector).A few months after the noise started the globe exploded. Needless to say, we are now in the market for a new projector and its not likely to be an Infocus model.

5-0 out of 5 stars no better projector for the money
Anyone who is considering buying a projector but doesnt want to spend their life savings should definitely look into the X1.The faroujda processor is used through the S-video and composite connections and makes even the most modest DVD player look amazing.for an SVGA player, this machine is absolutely amazing.Don't waste your money buying a more expense projector, unless you are an absolute perfectionist you wont notice the difference.By the way, firmware for the Infocus 4800 can be downloaded onto the X1 for greater availability to adjust the picture (dont send in your projector with the different firmware though or they will void the warranty).
4-0 out of 5 stars Get the new X1 upgrade ....screenplay 4805
I'm planning to get this projector but I found out Infocus repackaged this x1 for the consumer market called the "Screenplay 4805", it's basically the x1 with newly added upgrade extra features. The best place you can get is not online but at Costco for only $1300 with a FREE 72" screen included....what a steal...where can u get a projector with a free screen....wow!

I like the projector, it's perfect for watching movies.
5-0 out of 5 stars The worst shopping experience with amazon.com
I purchased this product from Amazon.com. The product was never shipped to me. The amazon.com claimed that I returned the product and charged me shipping and handling fee. Eventually, they refund the charge. I called amazon.com. they admitted that they made mistake and claimed amazon never recall back product that thay sell to customer. So, they place another order for me and guarantee ship me by certain day so I won't missed the presentation which I need the product. I waited and waited. I never received this product!

5-0 out of 5 stars Solid Projector
Our company has used InFocus, including two of this particular projector, for years without problems.Of the four projector that we currently use (3 InFocus, 1 Sony), only the Sony has had problems (but I wouldn't use one experience to say that Sony is a bad company).
