The picture is great even at daylight. You can hook it up to your DVD player and enjoy a real movie experience right at home. The repalcement bulbs are cheaper than other brands. This is a great buy.
5-0 out of 5 stars This projecter Is AWSOME
First things first this projector will give you the same picture quality of a $1500.00 - $2000.00 projector. It is durable and looks great in my living room. I get an awesome picture in the day time and even better at night. The fact that the picture is good in the daylight makes this a wonderful buy. Any projector you find with 2000 lumens and a contrast ratio of 2000:1 that is under $800.00 is a steal. Acer is an off brand but they deliver top quality. The best part is you HD TV and movies at a fraction of the cost. My wife and I love playing Xbox 360 on 9-foot screen there is nothing like HD video games. Most HD TV's start at $800.00 for a 27 inch which will burn out or get dead pixels in 2 -3 years with a projector like this one you start with a low cost with great value and if the bulb goes out after about 4,000 hours /166 days of straight use with out cutting it off replace the bulb for $150.00 - $200.00 bucks and you still save over a HD TV. Once again my Xbox 360 games look better with this projector than any HD TV I have ever seen them on. All I can say is WOW. HD up to 1080i 1080p (grapes to grape juice) is over rated any way. It also comes with a cool carrying case and all of the adaptors you need but hdmi.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great entry-level projector
I have been using my H31 for a month and can honestly say that I am completely satisfiedI use it in a room with high ambient light.Out of the box the projector was less that dazzling.Calibrating with an AVIA calibration disk and then constructing my own screen (plastic wallboard painted with Behr Silverscreen paint) gives me a projected image which is very good in high ambient light and phenomenal in a darkened room. For the price ($699-Visual Apex) this 480p unit can't be beat. Those who are unsatisfied in well lit rooms need to calibrate and consider alternate screens.

5-0 out of 5 stars A great bargain in the home theater projector maze
I did a lot of research before buying a projector and DVD player for our basement theater. I have run 16mm and 8mm films for 30 years and was leary of video projection. I finally decided on the H31 because most of what we watch are old 3:4 black and white movies on DVD. I don't like TV and have no interest in watching HD programming. I did purchase the upscaling Oppo 971 DVD player to get the film-like look.
3-0 out of 5 stars decent price but not very impressed with picture
This is a entry level projector, not suitable for prime time cinema experience. I bought it at VisualApex but did not like the picture quality. Picture with HDMI looks better but it is not very good with component video input. We are not very satisfied with this product but could not return it due to 20% restocking fee on VisualApex.

5-0 out of 5 stars A superb unit.
I have owned an Optoma EP 719 XGA projector for about a year and find it an impressive unit for the price. However, when Optoma released the HD 70, a full 720p projector, for under $1000, I had to buy it. The projector is light, but substantially-constructed with a sturdy gloss white case.I was immediately impressed with the quality of the build.
5-0 out of 5 stars Wrong Photo
I'm not sure what projector is being shown but as of 10-16-06, the preview image is not the hd70. Hopefully this will be fixed by the time you read this. ;-)

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Projector!
The Epson Powerlite 76C LCD Projector is awesome, and working perfectly and easily for what I need.I project my laptop on the wall for various demos of software, and everybody loves the clarity and crispness of this projector.I've even watched about 4 movies on it, some for my kids, and it's better than I ever imagined.
5-0 out of 5 stars Super Road Warrior Gear
PROS: This light weight projector is no lightweight in the conference room. As an independent trainer, this projector has proven invaluable in ease of setup, use and transport. I was drawn to it by the price but I just get more pleased with it every time I use it. Not only has this been great on the job, it has transformed my living room wall into a giant theater. For its cost, this machine has great specs.
4-0 out of 5 stars Nice projector
Of all the LCD projectors this one gives the most bang for the buck, and I definitely would rather have the slight screen door effect than the rainbow effect on the DLP type. The only complaint I have so far, after a week of use, is that the fan on high speed, needed here due to the altitude, is much louder than I would have expected. I can run the projector in the low light mode, but the 7,500' altitude requires high speed fan operation. No one ever cited that in reviews. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great price + stunning picture and sound!
I have been interested in upgrading to a larger screen for many years, but reluctant due to high pricing, reliability, competing technologies (LCD, projector, DLP, plasma, tube, etc.) and space concerns. I've had my eye on a projector-based solution for a while, but they too were on the pricy side. Along comes the Optoma DV10.
1-0 out of 5 stars If you're use to HD or looking for HD try something else
-I bought the DV10 recently as a supplement to my current setup - Phillips 42 HDTV and the OPPO upconverting DVD player, The DV10 did not perform as well as I had anticipated and I quickly noticed the difference in image quality. Both the DVD and HDTV display performance for the DV10 paled in comparison to the Phillips and OPPO setup.
5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing Value
I had been looking at DLP projectors for a while, but hesitated to make a purchase because of my unfamiliarity with the technology and the cost of higher end projectors ($5000+).I decided to purchase the MovieTime because it allowed me to dip my toe in the projector pool at a very low price.Shopping around I paid $865, and this included a free 92" screen (a $200 value).

5-0 out of 5 stars Great value, Great picture!!!
I've had my Powerlite S1+ for a little over a year now, and I have virtually no complaints.Through some creative shopping, (ie. pricematching and mail in rebates) I only paid about $350 for this projector.I have it permanently mounted in the ceiling of my basement and have a screen that is about 113" diagonal. It has over 1000 hours of use now, and everybody that has been over to watch a movie on it has been totally blown away and they all want one.As far as the $100 component video cable from epson, I was worried about this too until I found a local company that makes custom data cables.I paid $13 for a 15 foot cable that works beautifully.Initially I thought maybe when my bulb wore out I would upgrade to a higher end projector, but now that I've had so much enjoyment out of this over the last year, I'm planning on sticking with it and just buying a new bulb or two.

5-0 out of 5 stars doctor16
This is a magnificent projector, "A lot of bang for the buck" I have been using it since I bought it almost a year ago and have nothing but good comments for the machine. Every one of my neighbors have enquired about it once they see it in action.

5-0 out of 5 stars Practical and versatile
I bought this little projector mostly to attend on-line classes with, and to have a way to play games when my brain was full (which is very often;)). I also wanted a way to watch TV without having a big & ugly TV in my home office. A projector seemed the best solution, so I gave it a go.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Projector for a Low Price
I recently purchased this projector for my room and it is AWESOME!
4-0 out of 5 stars A good home theater projector
I bought the S3 a month or so ago after a lengthy search process. My goal was to get a projector for watching DVDs.The image is bright and clear.1,600 lumens gives you a good picture even with substantial ambient light.I use a 92" high-gain screen, and a projection distance of around 13'.At that distance, 92" is about as small as the image can get.
5-0 out of 5 stars Better than expected
I have used the S3 FOR 70 HRS. AND FOUND IT WORKS FINE. I have played many DVD with no problems. I play 14 local stations thru a digital receiver and then thru the S3. which makes bad news more acceptable. I recommend this projector. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome Projector
Dont be fooled by the low price of this projector. I have a movie room i just built and got everything but a projector i researched many and for the quality i wanted i was looking at 2000 dollars. I found this and was amazed when hooking it up to my xbox 360 in HD and my Comcast HD cable box. Watching the red sox game is a blast at 150 inches. Even at that big the quality is better than a 6000 dollar plasma. If you are building a entertainment room it is perfect.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great deal, great projector!
I was looking to upgrade to a newer projector later on in the year but was fortunate enough to receive one of these BenQ MP610 babies as a gift from my father-in-law. He had bought the MP610 (without consulting me first) and discovered how confusing the device can be to setup even for the experienced projector user and more so for the inexperienced user.
5-0 out of 5 stars FANTASTIC
When I first began searching for projectors, I saw them only as a very distant alternative to a flat-panel.I wanted to save space in my room and spend less than $700, so I figured a flat-panel display would be perfect for me.However, when I went searching for these TV's I realized the biggest screen I was going to get (for my budget) was somewhere between 23"-30" (if I wanted something with half-decent picture). At this point, I started looking for something I had previously only dreamed about, a projector. But I still only wanted to spend under $700.Needless to say, I spent many hours online searching for a projector to match both my price specifications and quality.I narrowed my selection down to 3 or 4, the MP610 eventually won me over.I have had this projector only for this long 4th of July weekend, but I have tried my best to put it through its paces.Currently, I have everything connected to the Mp610, inclding: cable, Ps2, VCR, and my laptop. All look fanastic. The only problem I have with the Mp610 is the lack of connections that came with it.I had a hell of a time connecting the audio (through computer speakers), and spent about $75 on misc. wires and connections. If you know your AV equipment than this item should be a fun challenge (as i thought it was), but if you don't then maybe get a more user friendly projector.Overall, this is a great buy (so far), and I have no real complaints. The projector looks great, runs quiet (but a little hot), and the picture is fantastic for the price.

5-0 out of 5 stars Well worth it!!
I've been using this projector for 6 months now.Not just for movies but regular tv (also HDTV) and xbox 360.I have about 600 hours on the bulb.A few times the unit didn't want to turn on and I thought the bulb had burned out (see other reviews) but I let it sit for a couple of minutes and it turned on with no problems. In my opinion, DVD's, xbox and the HD channels are projected beautifully!I never knew a projector could look so good. With the price of this projector continually falling, the deal just gets better and better. My neighbor spent $3,500 on a 50" plasma, I don't think his picture (HD) is any better than mine and less than half the size (my screen is a 120" widescreen).I spent a total of $2,400 for my projector, screen and cables.Even if I have to buy 2 bulbs a year it will take over 2 years before I equal what he paid and I've still got twice the screen size!I'll take that anytime!!
4-0 out of 5 stars excellent construction, so-so image
This is not a noisy unit, that I can tell. Ceiling-installed is completely "invisible" to the audience. The only time I hear the fan is after turning the unit off.
5-0 out of 5 stars HOME THEATER NIRVANA
The bottom line with this player is that it runs circles around virtually any LCD, Plasma or DLP TV setup you'll ever see at those big-box electronics stores. AND it's cheaper than any of them! It is as good (or bad) as the quality of the signal you feed into it.

2-0 out of 5 stars Two defective units so far
The first unit had a non-functional control panel.Except the power button, pressing other buttons on the unit had no effect.Pressing the menu key on the remote brought up the menu but nothing could be selected. The picture could be displayed but was in a distorted shape.Nothing could be adjusted. The unit overheated after 10 minutes of use and turned itself completely off without leaving the fan running.
1-0 out of 5 stars Repeated failures
ViewSonic has replaced my brand new PJ458D model projector three times, and the current one has also failed after 10-30 minutes. In each case, the lamp shuts down and cannot be restarted until it cools. Several times the fan also shut down with the lamp, shortening the life of the bulb. This has been frustrating to the extreme and the company has offered no explanation. I will not accept another of this model, nor recommend it to anyone. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Great price....Great unit........
I've owned an Infocus X1 for 3 or 4 years now. Besides the color wheel noise that happened last year, it was always a great projector. Infocus repaired the unit under warranty and even upgraded my firmware so I had more features. Recently I decided that I'd like to buy something new since the extended warranty period was up on the X1.
2-0 out of 5 stars Good for business, bad for home
I purchased this projector to watch movies at home and have not been pleased with its performance. Our DVD inventory includes both 4x3 and 16x9 formats. As this is a dedicated 3x4 projector, DVDs that are 16x9 will have black bars at the top and bottom of the screen. If you have a dedicated 16x9 screen, like I have, this will not work if you like a clean image at the edge of the screen. If I mount the projector to fill the screen, then the 4x3 DVD image is projected above and below the screen.Perhaps I don't have it setup correctly, but that was the best I could do.Specs say this projector has component video inputs, which it does. However, they are part of the monitor input jack and you have to spend another $20.00 for an adapter to connect to them. Our family room is 12 X 23 and the fan is too loud when you have the bulb in high setting - you do get a great picture, though. We could barely hear the fan in low setting but the room has to be VERY dark to get a decent picture.Projector comes with a CD that has the manual and a neat screen size calculator that figures the distance from the screen the projector should be located.

5-0 out of 5 stars oldorchardchurch.org loves it so far
So far this has been a good buy. I am Mark Tucker, the assistant pastor at Old Orchard Church in St. Louis, MO. This DP was a great find because it does exactly what we need it too. We don't need the extreme high definition images, but we want something that looks good and enlarges well. It does get a bit hot after 2 hours of straight use, but I am not sure that this is a problem. The price point was excellent for us as a small church, especially since I got it as an Open Box discount. I love the options and the keystone feature. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Projector!
I purchased this projector about three months ago, and I have to say I LOVE IT! I read many reviews before making my purchase, and I read a lot about fan noise, and a lot of technical jargon that I didn't understand. The bottom line is, this projector is GREAT, for the price. I run all my video through it, sattelite tv, DVD, etc., and the only thing I have to say is that, as long as you put a good, clean signal into it, you will NOT be disappointed. It is very unforgiving of a bad signal, I assume because of how incredibly large the image is. For example, I ran my son's PS2 through the VCR (yes I still have one)and played a game on it, and it looked HORRIBLE! But watching sports, or a good DVD, it looks awesome. I would recommend this projector to anyone looking to break into the projector market. Sure there are more expensive ones, with more features, etc., but you can't beat this one for the price!

Folks this bad boy is outstanding.
3-0 out of 5 stars Great Picture- Not so good for the long haul
I just returned my second projector in 6 months. I replaced my TV with this projector & have loved the larger than life images and great quality. Unfortunately, the DLP light only lasts about 3 months of 2-3 hours of TV a day. The replacement bulbs are expensive at over $300.00 each on-line. If you don't mind replacing the bulb every three months & the cost that goes along with it, it's a great projector. ... Read more
