Hard to beat this set!
Well built and solid, these units perform very well and have good distance coverage. The external volume is not as loud as I would have liked, but after receiving the first pair I ordered and seeing their quality and experiencing their coverage, I ordered another pair.I use them all the time and would buy again if needed.

Eh, so/so
I've worked with better walkies in the entertainment industry - these rate so/so.The real problem was with the headset which had to be purchased seperately. For some reason, the walkie kept goinginto VOX mode without warning.Had to shut them down, turn them back on again, and hit the talk button to take it out of VOX mode. The instructions give no real instruction on turning OFF the VOX mode when used with a headset.Reception is good, range is ok for small venues.
Great for ski trip
I bought these for ski trips and they do a great job. You can reach your family member anywhere in the mountain under any type of weather. I found the battery life great too. No problem to report after using them for 2 winters.
Motorola 2 way radios
I originally had a problem with the charger unit.I got a quick response from amazon. They sent another motorola unit out to me.This unit works great, I have been pleased with the customer service from amazon.I also have been pleased with my purchase order. It has better range and more features then the old motorola radios I used to have, plus the price was right! It's everything I expected.

10 Mile Range - Yah Right
The four units I purchased served the intended purpose just fine. Easy to use and set up. We were on the road 600 miles, three vehicles, one being a 26 foot rental truck. Keeping in touch was a must and they worked just fine. However, the claim of a 10 mile range is ludicrous to say the least. Uniden must have tested the range with one on top of Mt. Everest and the other on another nearby mountain top. Battery life is poor to ridiculous even on low power. Smart move is to carry an extra 20-pack of AAA's.
NOT A BAD DEAL
AT THE TIME THAT I BOUGHT THESE, IT CAME OUT TO 12.00 PER UNIT (24.00 FOR THE PAIR) VERY GOOD DEAL...AMAZON ADVERTISES THAT IT COMES WITH CHARGING UNITS AND IT DOES NOT.BE VERY CAREFUL.I HAVE COMPLAINED AND IT STILL SAYS IT ON THE WEBSITE FOR 2WEEKS NOW. APART FROM THAT -ITS A PRETTY NICE UNIT, RECEPTION IS FINE (NOT 10MILES THOUGH) ABOUT 1-2 MILES ON A BUSY HIGHWAY..BATTERY LIFE IS POOR.. WITH CONSTANT USE, YOU CAN GET ALMOST 1 DAY OUT OF IT. 4 AAA BATTERIES.THE RECHARGABLE UNIT IS A MUST..BUT FOR 12.00 PER UNIT - NOT MUCH ROOM TO COMPLAIN.

outstanding
This CB radio has an outstanding performance, but beware of the low volume on the internal speaker, just as an advice you should also buy an extension speaker, there are a lot of low priced Midland extensions on amazon
Great little radio for the price...
this cb radio is a great buy...I installed mine in my semi..and it works great...the radio is the same as the cobra 19..so i asssume whoever makes the midland also makes cobra radios..It has excellent reception...and i like the added feature of the noise suppressor..I am in truck stops and no where, have i found that you can purchase this radio for $26...Now all my friends want to buy this radio, while its on sale...I received it in about a week from amazon...it is replacing my cobra radio which i had for about 15 years... hey i say buy, buy, buy...You won't regret it....
Outstanding radio
I have been into CB radios since they first came out. I also have 50 year experience as a ham radio operator and an electrical engineer. I have never had a better CB radio. I purchased a second one just to have in years to come as a spare. I use it every day-it has very low crosstalk from high power CB transmitters nearby on the Interstate.

ok
I seem to receive ok in the car, but other drivers tell me to get my radio fixed anytime I transmit something. My transmission actually comes over my radio speakers and squeals.Maybe if I get an external antenna, it will improve. It is nice and compact.Odd that the channel display disappears when you adjust the squelch. It says it's supposed to do that in the manual, so it's a proper function, just odd.It gets me the info I need, but if you want to transmit in a car, get an external antenna.
A CB Lover's Dream
This Little Radio Roks!!!!!!!!!!!!! It Has Everything it says it has. If You buy a speaker mic for it, it works alot better in transmitting and reciving. this radio roks
Midland 75-785
I bought this as a replacement for my fullsize cobra unit that was "borrowed" from my car without my knowledge.Overall I really like this unit.It is small, compact and can be easily moved from vehicle to vehicle. The best part about it is that you can either have it wired in the car or run it as a handheld. The only downside to the unit is the fairly small speaker, but if you turn down the radio there really is no problem. In terms of performance, I think this little radio works better than any I have had before.I am able to pick up the NOAA weather stations much clearer than I was before.Overall a great product for the price.

talkabout t7400 (yellow Ni-MH)
These radios are overall good quality ( but not as good as the old t6220's). The first day that I had them one of the latches onthe belt clip broke. I called up the help line and got a new one(seven days later i might add) only to see that this one was smaller and thiner than the one that came with the radios- this tells me that they (the company) fixed the issue of the belt clip, it works better despite the fact that the teeth on the radio are too small and the radio fall off. The box says that the unites are "field cirtified" (6 miles over open land). I feel that these radios are too big for the range and too big for the shortage of Wattage ( watts is what gets your signel herd over long distances and perced through most obsrtuctions people). I feel thay should buy these radios if you are just want an introduction unite and don't want to spend alot of money.
NOT SO GREAT AS THEY SAY.JUST OK
These radios look nice but there are some problems here. First the batteries do not last long unless you do not talk. Second the biggest problem for me was uncompatibility with other radios and brands. The receive quality is very poor and hard to understand at times. I also hace a T7200 and the difference is like night and day. The 7200 is the best. The 7400 i believe is an has flaws and that is why you see them priced so low. I paid $24.00 on ebay and also have seen the set at home depot clearance for $44.00 today. What good is any radio if you cant understand what someone is saying? Good try motorola but this is a poor product.NOT RECOMMENDED TO PURCHASE.
Excellent Product T7400R
The T7400R works great. No, I did not get 12 miles of range, but I have not been out on the open plains with them yet.

Good
After reading the other reviews they are what I expected. They have been very durable (I bought them for my kids to use) and the battery life is excellent. The range is just what others have said you get out of most radios, 1/2 mile + or - in the city. (Good luck with 6 miles LOL. I am glad I did not waste my money on the "longer range" ones.)
Uniden 2 way radios
I have used these radios for 2 years at a summer camp for staff to be in constant contact. They are reliable, light weight, and have a good range.
One of the three new batteries required replacement
Within two months one of the three units would not charge and was inoperable requiring battery replacement. Can not locate replacement so will go with four triple A lithium batteries.

I purchased the Rino 120 about a year ago.It has been on many trips with me.I have had it attached to my camel pack while mountain biking and hiking. It has been through several crashes on the bike with me.While Geocaching, I dropped it into a stream.I snatched it back up, and found it to be operating perfectly.I have had this on the outside of my pack during light to heavy rain, with no problems.I can do many trips on a set of batteries.I use it often when 4X4'ing with my Jeep.I'll preset coordinates for intersections or points of interest, and it keeps me right on.When Geocaching, it has always led me within a few feet of cache.
Almost there ...
The Rino 120 is VERY easy to use.It has many user-friendly options, and it does not require vast knowledge of global positioning.I did not give this product 5 stars because of the need to purchase additional detailed maps, and the only choice of them being US and Canadian maps (I live overseas and travel world-wide).I really enjoy the integrated 2-way communications capabilities -- it has enhanced the scope of my own employment performance.
'Waterproof' It's Not!
The Rino 120 manual says this: "The Rino 120 is waterproof to IEC 60529 IPX7 standards [30 minutes at 1 meter depth] and is rugged enough to endure the most trying use."My experience was otherwise, and the Garmin response was troubling.

Not as Expected
Range is very weak probably less than half a mile. Don't waste your money.
no Range
I purchased these radios for a back up so to speak for my elderly mother. We live approximately 1/2 mile from each other and I wanted her to be able to reach me if she had an accident and could not get to a phone. These walkie talkies worked great within 200 feet of her house but after that the range lost any chance of hearing her. I would not reccomend them to anyone who needs something to rely on!!!!!

Great Tools
We used these radios on a Corvette road tour to the national convention in San Antonio.Had no problems, great response.Batteries appear to last more than a few days.
Motorola radios, good performers
We use quite a few of the 5500 and 5400 series Motorola FRS radios. They all work together as long as everyone is on the same frequency (along with the sub-frequency). The AA and rechargeable battery versions are all compatible as well... you can buy the AA version and insert a rechargeable battery and it works fine. (Don't know if it works in reverse but it should). Sometimes the earbud jack gets broken inside (cheap weld) and the earbud won't work anymore. If looking for inexpensive accessories, look for generic aftermarket parts. Why pay $20 for a PTT Motorola earbud when you can get it for $5?
Motorola T5500AA
In general, these two way radios work very well. We use them when we ski and for the most part we can communicate beter than using our older more simple radios. The privacy channels are great for when tons of others on the slope have radios too.

I bought 2.One of them gets used everyday for work and has been most helpful and is working fine. The other was purchased for trips and boating. It also works fine and was useful for the purpose in which it was purchased.Of course though, the distance in which it is advertised to reach and the actual distance are two diffenent numbers; the latter being less; though adequate for out uses.
works great, but......
This handheld CB works great on all channels, but only for short range. The external antenna helps a lot when traveling by car. All in all a good buy for the money.

Ear Piece just ok
I work security and use the motorola two way radios a lot. The ear piece headset works well but only if you have big ears. I have small ears and the earpiece would slip off a lot. My co-worker likes it because it's lightweight and fits snug. He has larger ears than I do. I recommend this product if you have large enough ears for the earpiece to hang on to.
Very funtional boom mic
I purchased these mic's for my wedding videography company to use during all day film shoots. They stand up to the constant use and reuse.I highly recommend if you're in a high paced industry. They hold up and maintain performance as advertised.
Boom mic
Never got it.It arrived at the postoffice and was returned because the postoffice had a temporary employee on at the time and wouldn't deliver to the address. And since you wouldn't redeliver or place somewhere for me to contact you about this problem I had no way to get it resent before you put the money back into my account.Won't happen again.
