poor electrical connection after 6 months
This little guy was working fine until it just wouldn't come on one day.Turns out the electrical cord is loose and has to be jingled to turn on.Since it only had a 90 day full warranty on it, and I have only owned it since April... it is not worth getting fixed due to labor cost.This defect may be isolated...just wanted everyone to be aware of this problem with mine.

Good buy
Customer reviews helped me make this my choice for sending a new TV to my Dad.He was thrilled with the quality of the picture -extremely clear- and good colors. The integrated DVD player and Video are a big plus too.Delivery was extremely fast and the product arrived in good condition.

Great Deal for a bedroom tv.
This is not a time-tested review, but my initial tests proved that this a nice TV for the price. The DVD could read a dirty, scratched disc beyond the menu and minutes into the show. There is a VHS "Rental" feature to improve the quality of rented videos. The One-touch VCR recording is only controlled from the TV set itself (not the remote). There is no "Previous Channel" button on the remote, but you'll be using your cable/satellite remote anyway. Only 50 lbs., less than similar TVs from Insignia, Sylvania, Panasonic and Toshiba. another surprised customer
this tv wa on it's way to getting 5 stars, but after less than 2 months it turned off, and wouldn't stay on after for not even a second.it would just turn back off.i returned it with no problems, but i lost the dvd that was stuck inside and wouldn't come out.i was mostly dissapponted becuase i loved the tv, but if it's not going to work, then what else can i say?

I Purchased this TV at the end of February and within a few weeks it would not work. It switches on for a second then off, not even time for the picture to come on! I tried different outlets which work fine with other appliences but not the TV. I called Toshiba as requested in the manual and they put me in touch with a local TV repair as it was under warranty. No Luck.Another Toshiba place (50 miles away)I was asked to bring the TV in to them! This is a heavy TV set!! I then tried returning this item to Amazon who would not accept it because it was now more than 30 days since it was purchased. Best TV ever
When I was in 2nd grade my parents gave me this TV. It lasted me until I wa sin 6th grade and going into 7th grade when I got in trouble and they gave it to my little sister. This is probably like the best Tv i've ever had and so when it was taken away I went to find a new one. It may not be very big but that's good. It's got great colour, and VHS playing. Quality Problems
My first one of these died after 18 months.For some idiotic reason, I bought another of the same brand.This one makes a high-pitched noise whenever videotapes are played - very annoying.It's going back tomorrow.

Careful with this one...
As the other reviewer pointed out, you get what you pay for.Has decent picture quality, but poor audio, and after less than 24 hours of operation, the unit stopped working, and high-pitched whine started emitting from the rear of the unit.Don't bother with this unit.

It works well despite Spanish version of Manual
I received the product with the Spanish version of the manual.It took me a while to figure out the installation/operation due to my limited Spanish.I went to the Memorex website to try and download the English version of the manual, but I couldn't find the product in their product listing despite many searches.I still don't have the English version of the manual, but I've figured out the basic operation of the VCR.

Problems, problems everywhere.....
I purchased the Travelview for the long car ride to Disney World with a 2 year old and a 6 month old.The Travelview is an excellent product, as long as it is working, which apparantly it doesn't for very long.After only using it for 2 months, the vcp began eating the tapes, rendering the unit useless... The picture is good--everything else is mediocre...
Most importantly, the picture is good... sharp... good color... etc. Operation is fairly simple.
DON'T BUY THIS THING, ESPECIALLY FOR THIS PRICE
If you're going to spend this kind of money, then get something else.This TV's sound is terrible.It works acceptably for routine network programs, but for stereo broadcasts and VCR/DVD playback, it reeks of dead skunk.You have to keep increasing the volume, which then serves to blur what you're trying to hear, and people who are watching continually ask each other, "What did he say?"For this price, far better products are available.I definitely wish I had not bought this one.

Perfect little television
When I bought this TV I was looking for something small for my bedroom.It's perfect.Not only did I not need to buy a VCR which I didn't have the money for but I fit in the only spot I had for it, a bookcase thats only about a foot wide.I've never had a problem with the TV or the VCR portion.I abosoultely love this little guy and I plan to take it to college with me.

I haven't had any major problems with this TV.. it seems fine. I don't really understand the negative reviews--it's got great features at a good price, and seems to work well. Picture quality is good, as is the VCR and internal radio feature (which I actually didn't know it had, but am very happy to know about now!)... my only problem is in the menu system, a characteristic Panasonic failure. good tv at first , but not anymore and the company is lousy!
I bought this tv about 2 years ago and it was a good deal...for a while.But just a few days ago, I noticed that the tube's color is off in some places.At first I thought it got hit by lightning, which has happened to me before.But then I called the Emerson people and apparently this is very common w/their tvs!Not only that, but they refuse to do anything about it even though they admit that it's not my fault and why?Because I don't have the original store receipt.I'm sorry but do they really think their customers keep their original store receipts that long?What would do they do if a customer called about a product they've had for 10 years?Not to mention that they don't need such a thing anyway to verify that it is indeed an Emerson product - it says Emerson right on the tv for heaven's sake!I'm pretty disgusted w/this company and I won't be doing business w/them again.

Good Service
My last TV,a similar Symphonic TV/VCR combo was purchased back in 1995 at Bradlees dept store,it has acted up as of recent years,but only the past few weeks had the picture tube started to fail.Searching around,I could not find one locally to replace it,so I had to do the internet mail order thing.The new Emerson is almost a carbon copy of the 11 year old Symphonic.They have moved the input jacks to the front but otherwise its the same case and everything.One thing I dont like is the sound.There is only one speaker working and its on the left side.The sound is very muffled and you have to crank it up to 40+ to hear the sound with any volume at all.The old set was loud at 10.There is no troubleshooting in their manual or website regarding sound output.So I think this will last 11 years? I doubt it.I miss my old Symphonic already......

They should stop making TV/VCR combos all together!

Works Great for a Spare TV
I've had this for a year and a half. It is not my main tv, but it's in my bedroom and I have it on every single night to fall asleep to, which means it runs for at least one to two hours a night (it has a sleep timer which is awesome, so I just set that when I get in bed). So I would say it gets regular use. The picture is very clear. I don't use the VCR regularly, but it's worked perfectly when I have used it.
good while it works
I loved this tv/vcr and generally love Toshiba products- however- in 9 mos the VCR started not accepting the tape, then chewing up the tapes and of course the warranty from Amazon was out- I was ill and couldn't get it to the Toshiba repair which is 4 towns away from me- i know Toshiba will charge for it.I gues i got 1/2 my money's worth- TV is fine. If you buy it, i suggest taking a service plan.

This TV was only OK brand new. One year later we're looking to replace it as it is worn out after only average use. After about three months of use it started to falter here and there. Now the picture sometimes turns to a black square that covers about 90% of the screen which you can easily fix by hitting any button but still should not be after only one years use.
