3-0 out of 5 stars Channel switching is slow
The DVD functions well, the pictures is good.....but channel switching is too slow and becomes annoying.I have 2 tvs: Sony and this one. After using the Toshiba for a day the Sony switching appeared lightening fast. I would not have purchased this item if I was aware of the channel switching issue and there was an alternate product with similar features and price.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good
Have been using it for 1 month, good product overall, good picture quality, good sound, price is fair and DVD player is a great feature. Only complain is that produces excessive heat at the back. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Best deal out there
We purchased this TV for use at trade shows.Excellent portability, nice bright picture, and unlike a lot of other TV's in this size, decent sound.Purchased a cheap 26 inch wheeled suitcase and some foam padding to use as a transport and storage case.Works great!

1-0 out of 5 stars This product was defective
I was unable to get a picture on this TV.User support was available on the phone, but their conclusion was that this product was defective, and they suggested I investigate the warranty.I sent back to Amazon for a full refund. The transaction ended up being painless, but frustrating.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great TV - Bad Computer Monitor
Works great as tv - poor computer monitor. I ordered this to use as a monitor for my laptop and also as a tv. However, the ONLY computer resolution it can use is 800x600 which on a 19" screen is way too grainy and made my eyes hurt. I discussed with Maganavox tech and admitted it was a problem.I returned and am now shopping for a computer monitor with tv tuner. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Avoid Audiovox
I actually do not own this model, I have an earlier model VE-500A 5" LCD under cabinet TV.The picture was great and the sound is good. However, it was working well just long enough to go beyond the 90-day warranty. Now, here is how it works:1/3 of the screenis lighter than the rest; after 15-20 minutes the picture goes totally white (but I still get sound at least). To get the picture back, I have to turn it off and let it "cool down" for 20-30 mins. Then I'll get the picture for another 15-20 minutes before it goes white again.
1-0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your money on this item!
We recently did an extensive remodel of our kitchen and thought this would be a great addition.Unfortunately, as soon as we drilled the holes in our new cabinets to install it, we were sorry. The sound quality is so poor we had to turn it up full volume to understand it, and then it rattles.Note: the advertised size of the screen is not the picture you actually get - it's 2" smaller and poor quality. The 90-day warranty just ran out and the picture wouldn't come on unless you tapped the box.Now it won't come on at all.I would say this is an expensive disposable tv.

1-0 out of 5 stars Unhappy
After hooking up the TV to cable was disappointed with picture quality even after adjusting it with the contols on the side of the screen.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good TV with excellent picture
We purchased this as an extra TV for a home office. It has a fine picture and the A/V inputs we need for a VCR and a DVD player.

3-0 out of 5 stars Same Problem
I also had a strange green spot show up on the left side of the television. Also, the remote control has stopped working, but that could be the result of the abuse it has endured more than faulty design.
1-0 out of 5 stars Color display problem and Electronic Hum
This TV has the color display problem, there is an abnormal spot of red color on the lower left corner of the TV and an abnormal spot of green color on the lower right corner of the TV. I discovered it when I connect it to my dvd player, where dvd player itself has no problem. It supposes to show me a blue screen with dvd player's brand name on it, but it showed me these two additional abnormal color spot, which is so annoying. Especially when I watch movie with subtitle of white color on left right and all subtitle on the right side changed to light green color.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Remanufactured TV
I have had this TV for a couple months and all I can say is WOW! First of all I bought the TV on a Sunday night and it shipped the next day. I received it within a few days and it was in perfect condition. I was only missing a couple of mounting bolts for the stand.
1-0 out of 5 stars Poor response by Philips to broken TV less than 5 months old!
I really liked this TV when new and it was working.Image quality was very good and remote easy to operate.A big negative was the quality of the bass sounds - these would rattle the case at certain frequencies - and it wasn't as if I had the volume very high either. Unfortunately the TV (less than 5 months old) has been broken for the last four weeks waiting for a part from Philips. The authorized repair shop is still waiting for a back-ordered part from Philips. I have been told by Philips that I must allow twenty *business* days before I can request that the order is expedited (i.e. the local repair shop ask Philips to get them the part more quickly - but what good that will do if Philips don't have the part themselves I just don't know!).I think that expecting the customer to wait 4 weeks for a repair item is unacceptable.Add on to that that Philips expects the customer to wait a further 4 to 5 business days for 'customer relations' to call them.
5-0 out of 5 stars Great Buy - Very Pleased With This TV
I have been waiting for the right opportunity to buy a HDTV.Price has been the main factor since my current TV (36" Sony Grand WEGA SDTV) has been serving me for 6 years now. While I eventually intend to get something in the 50" range for my home theater, I was looking upgrade our TV in family room. My plan was to see if I could get something between 20" and 32" for around $750.Then I stumbled on to this TV on Overstock.com.My I paid less than $950 (refurbished) and it shipped for $1.Since it blows my 36" Sony away, it's in the theater for now.

5-0 out of 5 stars In Use For Over A Year And .......
After much research I ended up buying this Samsung as an open box at BestBuy. Samsung is not my favorite brand. I am hoping that the Samsung of today may be lots better than the Samsung of old. I based my decision on which plasma to buy on how much bang for the buck I could get (picture quality, size, looks, price, etc). I also picked up a three year warantee, just in case. This was my first HD so I wasn't sure what to expect. After using this set for a year the following are my findings:Most people who have purchased their first plasma TVs (from what I have read) are saying that you shouldn't expect your normal analog channels to be anywhere near HD looking when you go to digital, because they won't be. These channels may be better than your old set but I have noticed many of mine were worse probably because the bigger screen shows all the imperfections that you don't see on your smaller 32 inch standard set.I would say that only 20% of the digital channels were better, about 40% were the same and 40% appeared worse. As time goes on there will be lots more digital and HD channels. Now the good news! The HD channels on this set are SPECTACULAR. I don't mean good... I mean simply Spectacular. I haven't seen better anywhere. The black border on this set is really nice too and makes for a nice frame for the picture. It appears to me that the picture has gotten better as time goes on and I think I read that this happens."Burn in" is no longer a huge issue with plasmas if you use some common sense and make sure you don't leave a static image on the screen for hours and hours. You may have to play around with the settings to get the picture that suits you but that is very easy to do. I can't think of anything that I don't like about this set. I realize that you can get good and bad in any model so you are always taking your chances, but I would certainly recommend this plasma TV at this super price... but for some piece of mind get an extended warantee if possible.

5-0 out of 5 stars Exceeds My Expectations
I recently bought this TV at Best Buy for $2400 - it was an open box item, but came with a 4 year in home warranty, so what the heck. I have to say the TV is just amazing. I knew they looked good from seeing them in the store, but the store lighting does not do it justice. The picture is amazing, even with just a plain digital signal. HDTV is mindblowing. I had no problems setting it to "stretch" the screen when displaying a standard channel. I was worried about sidebars, but no need for worry with this TV. The picture quality is the best available in my opinion, and even the sound from the TV is pretty good, so if you don't have surround sound yet, you will still be impressed a bit. I give it 5 stars, and kudos to Samsung for a great product!
3-0 out of 5 stars Some good...Some bad
Perhaps once everything goes hi-def, my plasma tv experience will improve. I have approx 25 hi-def channels in my area with the rest being digital. To start with, this was not my first choice. I'd originally tried to buy a Toshiba 50" but it was on national backorder and after approx 30-day wait, the online dealer I was working with said it was unlikely it would ever be available. So I bought the Samsung based on what looked like top notch specs and good picture when I checked it out at Best Buy. The picture I get on my high definition channels is quite good with the exception of nagging problems with occasional unnatural skin tones. This isn't always the case but happens often enough and is much more noticeable on the non hi-def channels. The picture that you see at Best Buy will not necessarily be what you see at home. But it still easily beats my 10 yr old 31" JVC. Shortly after I got the set, I noticed random fits of static in the audio. It got worse so I had to call Samsung for a service call. The service man also pointed out that we should be able to program the HP-R5052 to fill the entire screen no matter which channel I'm on. This option was "grayed-out" on virtually all channels. He also pointed out I'm also starting to get "burn-in" where the gray or black bars are at the edges of the screen when not watching a hi-def channel and I've only had this for 4 months. The set had to go to the shop for the repairs and we're in about the third week without it. It's probably good for us to find other ways to entertain ourselves but I paid for the thing and can't use it. Irritating. Samsung customer service was quite easy to deal with but parts order takes 1 to 2 weeks. Come on...are these parts coming by pack mule? If I had it to do over, I'd look much closer at skin tones before buying and probably choose something other than Samsung. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars great TV
Great price, great looks, great sound and all at an affordable price. The colors are bright and the images are clear, no blurriness on the edges. The sound is impressive also.
5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic image quality, even though not an Aquos
This 23" widescreen (16:9) HD LCD TV from Sharp is not a model from Sharp's highly acclaimed Aquos product line, but rather sold by Sharp Systems as a PC/Mac monitor. [You can find detailed product info on Sharp Systems' website.]This is actually a good thing, because while this monitor has the same excellent image quality enjoyed by its Aquos cousins, its price is more "reasonable" IMHO, if you don't need the bells and whistles or the advanced styling of Aquos LCD TVs.(Besides, Sharp has now reserved the Aquos label only for HDTV screens 26" or larger.Note that while all current Aquos models have the important HDMI input, this 23" monitor doesn't, one more reason it's not branded an Aquos.)
