Good buy
Customer reviews helped me make this my choice for sending a new TV to my Dad.He was thrilled with the quality of the picture -extremely clear- and good colors. The integrated DVD player and Video are a big plus too.Delivery was extremely fast and the product arrived in good condition.

Great Deal for a bedroom tv.
This is not a time-tested review, but my initial tests proved that this a nice TV for the price. The DVD could read a dirty, scratched disc beyond the menu and minutes into the show. There is a VHS "Rental" feature to improve the quality of rented videos. The One-touch VCR recording is only controlled from the TV set itself (not the remote). There is no "Previous Channel" button on the remote, but you'll be using your cable/satellite remote anyway. Only 50 lbs., less than similar TVs from Insignia, Sylvania, Panasonic and Toshiba. i would never ever ever ever buy another sylvania product.
Reasonable price...good performer
I got this TV for my kitchen.It replaced a 13" Emerson POS that used to sit on the counter.I also bought a swivel mount and used it to mount the TV on the wall next to my cupboards.When I don't need it, I can just swing it out of the way.
Outstanding ... with minor drawbacks! (to me, anyway)
Great picture right out of the box!Attached my Satellite cable, plugged it in and turned on the power, selected Ch. 3 and ...Wow!! .. what a picture!!The instructions, I agree, are the poorest I have ever seen for any device I have ever purchased, and the remote is something Fisher Price would market for 3yr. olds'.But the TV is worth every penny!!

Not bad, but I need help hooking up gaming consoles.
It's an okay TV.But I am having trouble hooking up game consoles such as the PS One and Xbox.I cannot figure out how to connect an RF adapter between my gaming consoles and this TV.Any technical advice will be much appreciated.

Rugged, Dependable, lots of glare.
I am a photographer for a network affiliate in San Diego.I use this monitor every day on location.This monitor has been dropped and thrown around more than anything else I own.Ihave literally taken it out and put it away every day, five days a week, for two years.The monitor face is made of plastic, and shows considerable wear, but is certainly still visible.

Not Reliable and Customer Service is Poor
Everything your read about the picture quality is true... however, this product just isn't reliable.Cost me another [..] to get it fixed and it isn't even 18 months old. I am not alone ...ones for less than what I paid for repairs is more than the cost and nearly all of these had similar power issues.Customer service from this company is also very poor. If I had it to do over I would not have purchased this product and I probably should not have spent the money to get it fixed.

I bought this TV in December 2005 and it has been working great since. I haven't experienced any problems that were mentioned previously in the reviews and I'm very satisfied.I use it in my room for DVDs, cable TV, and for my iPod's home dock (where I watch the iPod downloads on the TV) and I can't say I've had a better TV for my needs. I did my homework before buying this particular brand/model and I felt the quality was the same level as similar, more expensive TVs (like Sony). I can't speak directly to the HD issue, but you should do your research if that's a deciding factor for you. HD wasn't really a priority for me, but low cost and quality performance were. Disappointing!
Purchased this LCD TV, and within three days decided to return it.Thank you, Amazon!LCD resolution, color, and sharpness leave a lot to be desired.Funai doesn't state the pixel count, but it appears to be 640 x 480.The TV is simple to adjust and operate; however, in spite of all my attempts to get a good picture over digital cable, the TV just didn't deliver. My smaller Toshiba CRT delivers a much sharper, brighter, and better contrast picture than this Funai.
