Great Phone
I bought this phone over 6 months ago and absolutely love it!It has great sound quality.I love the features it has such as speakerphone, caller ID, and it's phone directory. The only thing that is not great about this phone is that the base and the headset each have their own memory and you will need to enter people twice-into both directories.Oher than that, this is a GREAT phone.I have owned panasonic and GE cordless phones in the past and had problems.I even bought and returned 2 phones before trying and keeping this phone.
AT&T E5965C 5.8 GHZ Cordless Phone is Best on Market
I've owned Uniden (great technical support), Panasonic and other brands of cordless phones. The AT&T E5965C is the BEST cordless I've owned since my old AT&T cordless from 1991. Quality, quality, quality. Absolutely no interference with my wireless network, great sound quality and volume control. Also, AT&T is the only brand I could find that has DSS technology for more security. Uniden no longer makes 5.8 GHz phones with DSS. I need the 5.8 GHZ because of my wireless network, and I want the DSS for privacy. Each handset has volume control (a necessity for us older folks), and I can retrieve messages from any handset. Also, each handset has intercom. This is a great feature if you fall down and can't get up, etc. You can page anyone in the house for help.
Works great for us
Interesting to read about people who have had reliability problems with this phone. We've owned it since December 2004 and have NEVER had a problem with it.The batteries have never run out, everything works fine, and I'm perfectly happy with the durability and sound quality.

How to deregister phone
The phone works great!. I have three of these and a base. The best phones I have had. The other phones I have are the TCX800 model (previous version), equally good.
TCX805 Accessory Handset
A very much improved product over the original TRU-8885 that came with my base unit.It follows more of a universal cell phone format.I would highly recommend it for anyone adding to the Uniden 10 hanset system or just replacing the old handsets.

Very pleased with this purchase so far ( one month into it ).Good sound, good range.

Editorial Review An additional handset for expandable 5.8 GHz Panasonic systems, the KX-TGA570S is compatible with both the KX-TG5771S and the KX-TG5761S system models. Like the base systems, the cordless handset utilizes 5.8 GHz Frequency-Hopping Spread Spectrum technology, meaning that it operates on a different wavelength with much less traffic than the 2.4 GHz technology while maintaining the great security, incredible clarity and long range. Have a wireless computer network, or thinking about getting one? 5.8 GHz technology will not interfere with wireless networks such as 802.11b or 802.11g WiFi. Read more

Feature rich phone BUT...
This phone has all of the features I wanted, call waiting, call display, 100 number phonebook, etc. However, I have received numerous complaints from the people I phone that I sound distant andmuffled, like I am calling from a cell phone or like I have a cold. This does not improve by my repositioning the handset. From my end everything is clear.I am going to buy a headset for hands free calling.I hope that this improves the voice clarity/quality for those I am talking to.
Uniden DCT 646 Phone
Excellent phone with many features for the price. I may buy an additional handset for this expandable phone system.
Great Phone..plan on purchasing more of them.
This phone has worked out great for our company. It has great reception and range. It also has a very small footprint on the desk. The only thing that some users complain about is how small the buttons are when dialing.

Great voice quality, but a few gripes...
I bought this phone especially for the Caller-ID Distinctive Ring Tones, so that I'd be able to pretty much screen out calls from telemarketers and wrong numbers, while taking calls from friends and family.

Excellent phone
We did a lot of research about comparable phones before purchasing this phone, and ended up choosing this one. Our experience echoes the reviews below, especially the sound clarity. It sounds like the other person is right next to you! If you have poor eyesight, it is probably not the phone for you since the keypads are small, but other than that, it's a fantastic phone.

Great Phone!
I got to agree with the other reviewers. This is one of the best phones I ever had for my kitchen-the extra large LIGHTED caller id feature was the selling point for me. It does require you to plug it in, but you don't have to worry about batteries leaking or running out. The speaker part has adjustable volume, and the caller id itself has contrast adjustments, it lists how long you have been on the phone while you are on that call, and one of the best parts is, if you get multiple calls from the same phone number, it will list each call and time INDIVIDUALLY, not overlap them. Thinking about putting one in the bedroom so when someone calls at night you can see who it is without turning on the light. The only drawback is the phone doesn't sit in the cradle snuggly, so you will have to be a little more careful when you hang up. GREAT PHONE!
OK except.....
I like the phone except for one REALLY BAD problem. The handset does not fit properly on the phone, it is too easy to incorrectly place the phone on hook (you think it is on hook, but it isn't).I have had the phone a couple of months, and this problem has rendered my phone line dead (no dial tone) about 10 times now. When my other phones don't work, I have to go put the handset of this phone back on properly.Never had this problem with any other phone.
Perfect Desk Phone
This one has everything.Super large LIGHTED caller ID,volume control for handset, power adapter for the caller id, many many extras.Im usually sucked in by the 10.00 phones and they always end upin the garbage. I thoughtI would try this one.I almost didnt because of the 29.00 price but it is well worth it.This is not a cheap phone. Its even angled perfect for the desk. The speakerphone sounds great as well.I love it and will probably buy another for the other desk in the house.

Great phones, but length of phone lines matters
We replaced an aged Merlin system with these phones, and in general we're quite satisfied. The only limitation we found was that we can't use all eight phones at once in our 13-room, 4-story house. Evidently, the total length of all the phone lines -- probably several hundred feet -- is just too long. With a bit of fiddling, we got seven working solidly, and they make for a terrific phone system that meets all our needs. We expect to use all eight instruments in time, as two or three separate systems, so I can forgive this one problem.
Good Phone
This review should really be 4-1/2 stars but that's not an option, so...
No speed dial or answering machine
The phone has excellent sound quality but I was very disappointed that it only has three speed dial numbers - It has 8 extension buttons that I will never use since it is for my home office. They should have reversed the buttons, 10 speed dials and 3 extensions.

Vonage is a sinking ship
I had Vonage since April, 2006. I finally switched back to Qwest after unending problems and hours and hours on the phone (my cell phone, as my Vonage line didn't work) with tech support. Here is my experience:
Vonage is a SCAM
We started using Vonage in Feb. 2006 and we could never get it to work, their tech support would always tell us to unplug the box and we neede a faster internet connection, finally after 4 months of fighting it we went back to our local provider...then every month we were still getting charged for our Vonage service.Vonage would tell us that they never received the cancellation calls and that we were still using the service(which was disconnected from our computer) They lie through their teeth and we still haven't resolved the issue.Do a search on Vonage complaints and you'll see we aren't the only ones.
HORRIBLE product, just plain horrible. PLEASE don't buy this!!!
It takes 6 weeks to transfer your old # to connect this same # to the vonage line. (yes, you need to wait 6 weeks to be able to use your old #. in the meantime, you get a temporary #, which doesn't make sense giving out to people coz it's gonna change again in 6 weeks - but if you don't give it to them, how are they going to be able to call you? ... but why would you give them a temporary # in the first place??? grrrr ...) Then there's customer service people that speak with a heavy accent that i couldn't understand, which makes everything about vonage incomprehensible. (This should have been a flag for me, but I believe I'm an educated consumer, and what they couldn't give me over the phone, I did my own research.) And if it's not on the net, they give you incorrect information (be sure to call at least 6 times if you want to cancel your account; otherwise they will keep charging you). Follow through with everything they say because what is on their records could be inaccurate, like what happened to me. Do not contact them through their email system. It's a miracle if you DON'T get an automated response. And even when you do, be sure to call them still, and make sure that what they emailed to you is the same as what is staring at the rep's face. Also, equipment is very UNuser friendly. don't use it if you want to keep it simple, and that you just want to press a button to check your messages. You have to go through more than 3 people to ask your questions from setup to billing. Unfair and unlawful, that's what they will do to you. If I could rate this 0, that's what it would get. It doesn't even deserve one star.

7 new speaker phones
At first, I was unable to conference from room to room, one of the features that I had chosen the phone and spent extra money for and it turned out that the problem had a simple solution, reversing the plugs in the phone jacks. Changing the plug to jack arrangement also got the lines ringing in the proper order (line 1 appearing as line 1). I hope that this tip is helpful to another user. The hold button has a low visibility profile and when I first went to put a call on hold, I was searching frantically and I am tempted to paint that button a bright color. I still can't figure out what the phone means when it tells me that I have 35 (etc.) new calls. I set the phone to roll over to an answering service when I leave the office and I am uneasy that I should be doing something about these new calls. I think that my unease will dissipate over time, but now, I feel like the phone has the upper hand!
Great Options for Small Business or Large Home
I'm shopped around for a good phone system for a few months until I landed on this unit.
It's great when they get it right!
I've been looking for a high-quality multi-line office phone for several months, and have had a few bad experiences. It seemed that I got what I paid for, which was low-price, low-quality, and I just couldn't find a good solution for less than several hundred (or thousand)dollars.

10 yr old phone works better
I purchased this phone... charged it up and tried it out. Took it back two days later. It had so much static. I tried it in different areas of my house and with my wireless internet disabled. I could barely hear the person on the other end. I am not kidding that my 10 year old phone that I got in college works better. I wasted my time buying this one, should have read these reviews first and saved myself the time.
Sorry I Bought It
Well, it looks nice, but again as others have said:poor voice quality and static. Also the features are difficult to use and the manual is worthless.I am stuck with this garbage and that is what it is.I am sorry I bought it.I usually avoid Panasonic, and now I really will avoid Panasonic. Stick to anything Sony, and you never go wrong.
Just Fine
Not sure what problems the other reviewers were having but this phone handset system seems to be working just fine.Plenty of range and the voice quality is as good as any other phone I've owned.the keys are a bit small and takes getting used to but if you want an economic option for a multi-handset phone - these work just great.

BASIC phone
I guess for $15.00, you should not expect too much. The phone's display is only readable at the max setting. The ringer is annoying. The main problem with the phone is that all the cables are hard wired. The curly handset cord is extremely short and cannot be replaced. The cord to plug into the jack is about 15' too long for wall mounting. Again this cord is hardwired so you have to wind it up under the phone. You may want to spring for a $20 phone instead of this one.

Best Cheap Cordless Phone
I purchased one of these phones a few years ago to use in a dorm room. It's perfect -- the 900mHz signal floats below the wireless network interference point, and below the "noise" generated by the new big-box-store off-brand 2.4ghz handsets in surrounding units.
What's not to like?
The ergonomics of the handset is good, the base is a nice, small footprint, and at 900 MHz. there's no interference with wireless routers.Of course, the price ws great too!
Good Phone
This phone does exactly what it is supposed to do, also it is reliable and easy to use.It doesn't have a lot of features, I miss my headset jack, but it is well equiped for the price.I would definently by this phone again it was well worth the money.
