Good Phone
We have had a cheap and awesome Uniden phone for years!My Mom won this and gave it to us and it's been pretty good.But I do have to swear by Uniden. Anyway, back to this phone - the other review about "not so great sound quality" is definite.One expansion handset isn't useable because of the sound, the other is mediocre.I love the main phone though - it's speaker capability is great - the volume control isn't as dramatic as I'd like it to be (when you have a baby sleeping and don't want it loud, but want to do dishes at the same time).Otherwise, we've been pretty happy.

This is a great phone set! Very clear and crisp. The voice changer mode would come in handy if I were a kidnapper, or worked for crack yankers - neither of which I am or do - but its fun nonetheless.

Bad experience..
Though I charged the hand set for more than 15 hours, it did not work. So I have to send it back. Amazon did a excellent service.
mixed bag
I bought it for the nice ringtones, but it doesn't allow you to hear incoming messages as they're being left. The extra handset appears to be more expensive than the phone itself which seems ridiculous.Phone itself is also echoey on certain calls and squishy buttons are hard to manipulate quickly.

I should have knownI own a convenience store and my phone card vendor talked me into these remanufactured nokia phones sort of like tracfone.They sold really well but the problems customers had with the phones, like holding a charge or reception was beyond my control and the vendor would not accept the responsibility of rectifying the situation ... Thought I was going deaf...
Couldn't hear a dern thing with the volume on the highest level. Bought a different phone, I'm not going deaf.

Waste of money
We recently purchased this phone.I should have checked the reviews before we bought it.The base was in our living room, and I couldn't walk to my back door (and my house is tiny) before the static started.Forget walking out my back door, the call would just cut off.It was also very difficult to hear the person on the other line, even with the volume turned up to maximum.In addition, any time the call waiting beep went off, it made a horrible noise like the phone was hanging up (repeatedly).I couldn't even walk upstairs without hearing static.It was a complete waste of money, and has since been returned to Target!

It has been very good
I came here looking for another handset for this phone.We have had the 2255 for about 2, maybe 3 years now.It has been highly reliable, good battery life (we replaced the first set about a year ago), survived two lightening strikes on our home (killed the PC, but not the phones), and generally works well for us.We do not really bring it out of range very often.I won't say that it's perfect, but I haven't had a cordless phone that was.I think we realized the quality of the 2255 when my husband got a v-tech 2451 for a 5-year anniversary gift from work.That phone is awful - we can't hear anyone on it, and usually have to switch to one of the AT&T handsets to talk.It also interferred with our wireless router, so we had to turn it off.
Terrible and disappointing product
The battery life for this phone after one short year is abysmal.After charging it all night, it dies after a few hours of nonuse.
After several years of use...
I need new batteries, finally. Until a few months ago they held a charge for well over a day whenever we left the units off their charger.

The phone itself is fine. It's a basic corded phone that is wall or desk mountable (though to mount on the wall, you need to pull out a little tab and reinsert it upside down so that the receiver catches on it and stays on the wall).

Great phones.
The first cordless phones we've had that you do not hear a buzz while you're talking.The "find handset" button actually keeps beeping until you find the handset, so that it doesn't take 2 people.The phone shape is too difficult to hold between your ear and shoulder, but my chiropractor says you shouldn't do that anyway.

The Panasonic KX-TG5480 system has been a great phone for me during my busy season.I have only had it installed for a month or so ;but so far as I can tell thus far, Kudos to Panasonic.

Not even worthy of 1 star
I have never had a phone that performed so poorly.I owned better phones "back in the day" when cordless phones first came out.There is a terrible feedback of your voice when talking on the handset and when attempting to use the speakerphone, the caller cannot understand/hear you.I trashed these phones and purchased a comperable Sony cordless that is GREAT!Save your $$ on this one - you're better off trying to send smoke signals!

Worst phone ever...
This proved to be the single worst phone I have ever used.The phone always sounded muffled and I had multiple complaints of echoes from people with whom I was talking; additionally, when trying to dial, the phone would clear the numbers I had input (prior to hitting the "Talk" button) and remind me that I had no voicemail messages waiting.In addition, the phone would start sounding "static-y" if I wandered more than about 40 feet from the base.Finally, the phone would not allow me to pick up multiple handsets at one time - if I had to switch handsets, I would have to put the call on hold and "transfer" to another handset and it surely would not allow more than one person to talk at the same time.

Solid Performer
Our offices were wired by someone that really didn't know what they were doing. Most of the rooms have no phone jack and the idea of running cable for two offices was not very attractive. The GE Edge 5901EE3 set was the perfect solution. We have voicemail on the line and a nice digital answering machine with multiple inboxes that handle our messages just fine. All too many of the 5.8ghz setups come with an answering system build into the base unit. That was something I definitely did not want or need. The GE Edge system is perfect. Clear sound, three units, no answering machine, handles standard 2.5mm jacks for headsets, each handset has built in speaker phone, ringer can be turned off, calls can be transferred to another handset, etc., etc., etc. Great deal too - got the 3 phones for $29.99! ...
