Pretty good item to have
I live in the NY City area.I received the Nav One system as a christmas present from my wife. I love the system.I plugged the system in and in about 5 minutes it pin pointed my location and I was able to program the Navone to go anywhere I wanted. Putting in an address is fairly easy once you figure out how to input it. I love how the Nav One knows the tight turns thru the NYC city highways without a problem. The point of interest is very useful for finding various locations without knowing the address.I love golf, so having a listing of every golf course in the country is very useful.I do have a couple of issues with the unit. This version of the Nav One has no carrying case.I had to order a case separately. You would need one because the screen smudges fairly easily when handling it. The unit has a hard time finding addresses which are formatted like for example,90-25 161st street.You have to put in the cross street for you to at least come close to the address.

when I received my cobra nav system the cord to use it was missing and I have had to call three times and still nhave not received the cord.I contacted Cobra, but I think it came from Target.com ... Read more

Definately hasn't gotten the acclaim it deserves..
I've been using my PiN 100 for almost 2 years now and on an almost daily basis. I drive all over the state of Oregon and Washington for my job. I have to make multiple stops daily and to almost always never the same place twice. The PiN has done an excellent job at getting me from point A to B.
What's wrong with you people?
I have had my Navman PiN100 for a year now. I use it all the time. I don't know if the others live in rural areas but, here in Indianapolis, I even get GPS signal from inside my house. I love the Navman PiN100. It takes me everywhere I want to go, all the time (and I travel alot by car across country). I have read many reviews before making my selection (money was not an issue). According to many reviews, SmartST is better than Tom Tom. I just upgraded to SmartST V3 and the new features are incredible. The only downsize if any, is that updates are not free. It's $99 every year or so for the latest version of SmartST. In SmartSt V2 you cannot add stops, which you can with V3. Great improvment.
Great unit overall
I have had this unit for almost a year and I am happy with it. It gives clear display and clear voice/written instruction.The unit is small, just like the size of a PDA.The initial GPS connection is slow (maybe 5 min?), but reconnection is quick and it rarely get lost.The software has problems sometimes, and I need to occassionally press the reset button to unfreeze the unit.I purchased another 256MB SD card to load all my commonly used maps (Northern and Southern California, Arizona, and Las Vegas, etc). There are still a lot of room for extra maps in this SD card.Since all the maps are saved "externally" to the memory card, resetting the GPS device will not erase the maps.Overall it's a good deal for the price. Okay but Customer support lets this product down
Okay product ,novelty wears off pretty fast (already got gps for boat),voice thing gets annoying but you can turn it off,easy to see where you going in 3D mode,would be good for courier ,taxi driver,but maps are expensive,i found it very hard to obtain power cable which makes this useless if it breaks (better keep a map in your car) and customer support lacking,don,t wish to reveal too much but all i can say is that in New Zealand they must be very under staffed. But service was friendly when i did finally hear from them.

By far the best.
I dont know about Navman's customer service because i never had any problem with my unit after using it for more than a year now.
Broke twice in one week, had prior model for 3 years
I have had an ICN630 for 3 years that worked flawlessly then broke.I was going on a trip and couldn't wait for two weeks to have the old model repaired so I bought a new ICN635 (current model).It worked well for one day.Four hours into the trip it failed.After trying many things and speaking with Navman they decided that it was the portable cord.They told me it was unavailable from anyone but them and that when they had a supply problem last year (2004) there was no other source.They sent a new cord.While I waited for the new cord I left the unit running on the 110 volt power source (not much good unless you have about a 50 mile long extension cord--I did so just to be sure that the unit itself was O.K.)I received the replacement cord, plugged the unit in and . . . . . . it ran for about 5 seconds and turned off.I tried this several times--first in a 2005 Mercedes then in a 2004 Cadillac--I suspect that the problem lies with Navman and not with the cars.

It's a pretty good product
I bought this product about a month ago for my G-1000 phone and it's pretty-good and I'm still learning how to use the many functions and/or services you can utilize. I have the Ostia version 7.00 and the map version 5.00-which is the program that stores the maps of your choice. Unfortunately they(Pharos) don't have and will not produce any more maps programs that are current. The last upgrades for their maps for this version(5.00),is 2004. So there's no more new maps from 2004 which means no more new streets and highways that are probably being made as of now through-out the U.S.A.

Wonderful little gadget!
I've been hooked on navigating GPS systems since 2004: first, my girlfriend's new TSX, with its touch screen interface and soothing [female] voice guidance; in 2005, I bought a BMW with a different sort of GPS.It wasn't touch screen, and though I became dexterous at twisting and pushing the knob, others scoffed slightly at its apparent inefficiency.Luckily, the sexy female voice (christened 'Claire' by a friend) and excellent directions made up for it.
More than just a navigation system
I had WayPoint 205 for 3 months now and love it.It has great screen graphics and shows the detailed street maps, not just the simplified maps used by some other navigation systems that I looked at before I purchased.It has very fast zoom in and zoom out that makes it easy to look at the detailed map.Mobile Crossing released the newest US maps recently and since I owned the unit less than 3 months, I could download and upgrade for free.The built-in Map Loader made this upgrade extremely easy - no CD or PC software to mess around.

Good but poor documentation
We been using this GPS unit to measure our horse rides.The display is a bit difficult to read while riding.The documentation clarifies very little and is not in depth at all.Scrolling through the various modes can be tedious.It does keep track of avg speed and max speed.We've yet to figure out how to easily start a new lap.
Absolutely wonderful
Folks, if there's anybody out there thinking of getting fit, breathing in some good air and maybe lose a pound or two, one of the best ways is to get out on your 2 pins.The problem i've always had is a little lack of motivation.With this gadget, everything changes.Knowing down to the exact yard what kind of progress you're making does wonders for your motivation.....you'll even be getting those training shoes on when it's minus 2 and snowing a blizzard!I can't recommend this device enough, go out and get one.

Great All Around Handheld
This unit is great for all around use; hiking, biking, marine, and auto. Auto function is simple, but effective. It essentially picks a route between 2 waypoints. We load Topo charts too onto the SD Card for hiking, and mountain biking. The unit floats!
Magellan needs to upgrade this product
Pro: Uses an SD card for fast uploading of detailed maps.

I just bought the color unit with the entire travel package (Software, cables, SD card, car cradle)and have just begun to play with it, and I am extremely impressed with how the unit functions.Once I learned how to maneuver the unit, and downloaded detailed maps, I get an accurate and concise street by street map and directions.I am planning some longer trips and will use the unit as my primary map guides.

This is my first diving computer. I was pleased with its functions and ease of use. It logs all your dives and you can transfer them to your computer. It really simplified logging all my dives.
