A perfect addition to my dashboard
I was looking for a compass for my car and I am glad I found this one.Perfect size and easy to use.Fits great with the three suction cups right on the dash (doesn't fall off).Within easy reach and seems very accurate. Great addition for someone who is Directionally Challenged.Definitely would recommend.

Exactly what I was looking for
This little device works great.It's easy to install and the calibration process was quick and easy.I've only been using it for about a week now but it has been very accurate so far.It's definitely worth $40 bucks and it's perfect for directionaly challenged people like me!

Excellent features, rugged. A bit big though...
I'm extremely pleased with my Suunto Mariner. It is simply loaded with features that a sailor/racer wil find handy. It can also take a lot of abuse (clumsy me...). There are only two things I can think of where the Suunto Mariner comes up short: First is that it is a bit big when worn on your wrist.However, all Suunto watches are this size; and, once you get used to it, you stop noticing. Although it is big, it is very light in weight. Overall, it is very comfortable to wear. And, the benefit of having a big display is that it is easy to see (and digest) all the data displayed on the unit. Second, many watches coming out from other companies that cater to water-sports enthusiasts include a tide calculator/display. The Suunto Mariner does not have this feature. In my opinion, adding the tide feature would make this watch complete.Read more

Garmin StreetPilot
I ordered the navigator to assist me with my out-of-town, large city driving directions. When I received the system it appeared to be the greatest device, but provided more information than I really needed.

This is a great GPS navigator system.Especially when it come to navigate without the satellite, it is great.However, some of the base map that comes with this unit is outdated but for the most part it is quick and responsive when you missed a turn or two.The large display makes it easy to work with.Overall very easy, straight forward to work with and has lots of options.I took this unit on vacation to mid west and it worked as good as northeast.Just type in the address and few seconds latter you are ready to go.
Navagation system on steroids!!!!
First off, not for the faint of heart, this is one heck of a GPS unit. Too big for most cars, but one you would love to have. I have a Mistubishi Montero 04 and it fit perfect in the dash, however to veiw movies I had to tilt it making the install look less professional than if I placed it in the center console exciting angle. I love the XM radio which I already had, and the features aren't the best in garmins package, but it functional. Viewing videos are a nice touch, I purchased a vehicle DVD player for it also, but the angle to view is limited in a fixed install. All in all, love it, great deal on Amazon on price, but didn't like the cost of the add on XM antenna, $250.00 bucks more. but my savings on Amazon made the bitter taste easier to swallow. ... Don't know what they are talking about?
I have to tell you. I read the other reviews and am not really sure what they expected for the price.You get so moch more compared to comperably priced units form other brands.I primarily use mine to geocache and will admit the inability to download coordinates from the computer would be nice but I didn't want to spend the money to get a unit that did that. As far as accuraccy I feel that this is very good, I have never had a problem finding my caches and have never had a problem getting a lock within a reasonable amount of time. Backlight is great, base map is adequate, navigation page is good. Basically you can get much, much better but not for this price. Perfect for the weekend geocacher, hiker, biker.

Very nice first handheld GPS
I love this GPS.It's light and the buttons are clearly defined.The accuracy is great, although it's hard to get acquisition while moving, I suppose that's the same with all GPSrs.I've gone Geocaching already with it and it finds everything.I've once even got the accuracy within 3 feet, which was really nice.The only one con I can think of is that it is really slippery.I've almost dropped it twice, but was saved by the included wrist strap.Haven't gotten to test the water resistability, but I don't think I want to "test" it.

Good hardware, good software - so far...
I've only owned the 505 for about a week now. It's a great deal when you consider you get a functional GPS with software for all of the US and Canada and Pocket PC all in one unit. The beauty of the Pocket PC over a normal GPS is that you have great flexibility in the GPS software you use with it - and thus a competitive market - in addition to having all of the other advantages of a Pocket PC (MP3 player, multimedia, Outlook, Word, etc).

Costly Marine Software
I have just received my new GPS 76C. It is a great unit. There is however a major downside. If you intend to use this for marine navigation and are looking at buying a BlueChart CD to download Charts, you only get one unlock code with your CD. This means that you can only use one of the region charts. Ie. if you are in the Eastern part of the Med, you can use your one free download to get the chart for this area. If you move to the West of the Med, you now need to buy another unlock code. These are far from cheap and will start costing you a fortune. Buy a Magellan GPS as the Marine CD is cheaper and you get all the charts for the region you purchased included and not have to buy each areas chart. I am now stuck with a GPS that I don't really want.

Nice unit with great display
I used to have a Magellan Sportrak. It burned through batteries like a kid's toy while providing occasional false readings and claiming not get enough signal some 25% of the time (despite clear skies and no obstructions.) Finally I had enough and bought this one. Very happy I did!
Great GPS Unit
This is my fifth GPS unit. My first GPS unit was a Lowrance GM100 followed by a Garmin and a Magellan Sportrak and then a Lowrance Go2. All have been good units. I was very inpressed when I first received the Lowrance H20 unit. I was impressed by the screen size first and foremost. Second, I was pleasantly suprised to find the car power adapter. Shortly after purchasing the unit, I bought the software package. It includes the map software, a 64mb SD card and the card reader. I'm very happy with the set, but I would have preferred a direct cable connection to the unit as opposed to having to use the card reader to transfer data. The software is also somewhat limited in features as well. I would like to see more features involving trails. The maps are great and very accurate. Transferring data works great but is somewhat difficult in that you must remove the card which requires removal of the batteries. I would give the unit five stars if it weren't for the above limitations. If you just look at the unit itself based on accuracy and useability, it definitely ranks five stars. ... Read more

two year owner of altimax
an excellent watch that could use some downsizing, but its size gives the advantage of an easily readible face. could use a mineral crystal lens...even though plastic and inset, ...but the best feature is the fact that the easily obtainable battery is so easy to replace that the wearer is not discouraged from using the features as often as necessary. Unlike many other digital watches, the band still fits my 6 inch wrist with holes to spare. Although the operational functions are laid out well, I was lost in trying to remember how to operate the watch after storing it away for several months...after all, to download the manual is 50 odd pages. Still I think this is an excellent product that could be made better with the additions I mentioned.

This watch has many great features, and few shortcomings. The bad first, and then the good: First; It is quite big. At first it seems like a hockey puck has been strapped to your wrist. Second; it uses a barometer to guage altitude, and therefore it requires some study, attention to detail, and monitoring and adjustment to get the most out of it.Read more
