Audiosource LS300 speakers
I resently installed these speakers on the outside of my house (backyard). I was amazed at the quality of sound that came out of such inexpensive speakers. I recommend these speakers to anyone who wants a good source of background music for their outdoor activities.

Great for poolside listening....
I haven't had my Audio Source speakers that long but so far they have been great! I paid about $40.00 for the pair to put up outside our pool and deck area. They have brackets that you can mount to the side of your house and they hold great. It did come with some screws that I have no idea what they go to but we really didn't need them anyway. If you are looking for some inexpensive speakers to just listen to music while you are lounging around outside these are great for that! I am very happy with my purchase.

Best for background Music
Pros: Lightweight, easy to install with brackets included, and a GOOD price-performance relation. Considering the limitations of the drivers and the housing etc, it is a good deal. The mid-range and high-range definition is pretty good.

Good value for money
The performance of these Advent speakers is yet to be adjudged since I dont have any 6.1 DVDs that can give me an idea of how these speakers sound. However when listening to FM radio I find the sound to be pretty good. As an Amazon.com customer for over 6 years I have always found their service to be excellent.

Outstanding center speaker!
I purchased this speaker not completely knowing what to expect. There seems to be a general lack of information available. Advent used to be known for outstanding quality speakers but after changing hands several times it was impossible to know if this was still the case. At the budget speaker price point that this was offered at, you would not expect something as good as this. While I am not an audiophile, as a professional musician and movie lover I do try to look at speakers seriously.

Great value for the money
I bought a set of SCS- 145.5 speakers after my subwoofer went out in an older set of SCS- 135's.At $189.99, these speakers are an excellent value.You're not going to get the same kind of punch that will out of a $2000 JBL setup, of course, but if you have a small living room like mine, these speakers are more than adequate.They also seem to be much improved versus the old SCS- 135 models.The speakers are well balanced, and the bass is meaty, but not overpowering.Highly recommended!

The speakers produce sound quality that is more than adequate for their design. They are an excellent choice for a person looking for quality on a limited budget.

please understand audio equipment... read this!
The last reviewer stated that the center channel speaker is "barely audible" and the speakers "sounded horrible". There is nothing wrong with these speakers. They are made of high-quality components and are probably your best bang for your buck. First, the first reviewer was probably trying to listen to stereo sound through his surround sound system. The reason there was very little sound coming through the center channel is probably because the receiver makes the center channel a phantom channel, where the left and right signals from stereo sound are combined and put through the center as a "filler" speaker. Or... if the reviewer hooked up his DVD player to the receiver using just the two RCA inputs, he will get stereo sound here as well, even though the DVD is encoded in Dolby Digital surround. The receiver will try to make stereo sound into surround using Dolby ProLogic Surround when given stereo inputs, and this is less-than-digital performance, sometimes needing some extra tweaking on the receiver in order to get ample dialogue. BOTTOM LINE: everything depends on the receiver and the connections you are using between your DVD player and the receiver. If the receiver is not of quality, it may not put enough power into the speakers, or it may put unclean power to the speakers causing them to distort. If you are not using a digital coaxial cable or an optical cable between your DVD player and your Dolby Digital receiver (make sure it has a decoder), then the sound will most likely be stereo sound synthesized into Doly ProLogic surround, which simply mixes the channels into the center, where some dialogue could be lost.

not bad but there's better for the money
If these sold for around $400-500 instead of $600-700, I'd say they were pretty good.However at their usual retail prices around $600 you can do better with lesser known brands like Paradigms, Monitor Audio, Ascend Accoustics, and Axioms.

Nice speakers, nice price!
I put these together with a Harman Kardon HK 3480 receiver and got crisp sound quality with surprisingly punchy bass. I am going to add a Yamaha 8" subwoofer to give me a little extra oomph for rap music and movie sound effects, but that is more of an indulgence than a necessity. They are good for the price
My personal feelings are that any speaker can sound fantastic with a good amplifier/receiver that can be adjusted or "tuned" or when an equalizer is used. Even mono's or single cone speakers can sound as good as 3 ways. Quality sound media (record, tape, CD, Digital ect...) helps too. To me 3 ways and mono's always sound better "out of the box". My tastes are vary tight (but somewhat weak) bass's vary defined mid ranges and noticeable but weak high range (I don't like any hiss). I also don't care much for surround sound.
Huge Value and Unbelievable performance, and durable too
My brother and I bought a set of KLH 970 speakers8 or so years ago for my father to replace some old larger speakers in his house, and they are the best value speakers I have ever seen. We liked them so much we got a second set to replace the other set of speakers on his stereo. These little guys really deliver a great range of sound in a small package.It's not suprising to me that KLH is still making this exact model this many years later.You can't find another 3 way sound speaker at this price.Also, they are durable and are weather resistant. I don't recommend leaving them on a patio in a monsoon or a blizzard, and the black doesn't make good friends in bright sun, but you can mount these to the porch or patio roof/overhang and leave these out in damp weather with no loss of wear or sound, at least not as of yet. The more I looked around at different facilities with PA or sound systems outdoors, the more I have noticed these speakers being utilized.So if you have just a few bucks and want to some aged speakers, this is the perfect little set to get. Everybody thinks bigger and pricer is better, but I have to argue that these speakers have done their job superbly, and thats why my dad still uses them 8 years later. This 970 set of KLH speakers are actually Identical speakers to the 980 models, but run a 5-40 watt range whereast the 980 series runs 10-100 watt range.So don't break the bank if you want a set of small speakers, I think you will be suprised. Note, as with many small speakers, if you are a bass sound fan, then you might want to buy a sub-woofer, but these do a fine job at normal range.

The little speaker that could...
I purchased my pair of KLH 970A's about six years ago to use as rear surround speakers.My primary reason for buying them was their price - who could resist trying a pair of speakers at this price?I have enjoyed these speakers almost every day for the past six years, and they still amaze me with their quality.The build quality is superb, and unlike some fellow reviewers, I have found the speaker brackets to be well made and very useful.Speaker stands and brackets are one of the most overpriced audio accessories available - so it's amazing that KLH provides brackets for the 970A, especially at this price.

Clean, clear, and good price
This is my first foray (actually it was a gift) into Polk Audio merchandise. I am pleased with the crisp, clear, and detailed high frequency sound it emits. It has considerable resolution and articulation that helps deliever lifelike representations of vocals and instruments. There is virtually no distortion, and it sits above my T.V., which sometimes speakers and T.V.s will play interference with each other, but not this monitor.
