Decent monitors!
I normally don't buy speakers without listening to them first, but in August 2006 I took a gamble and purchased a pair of these, I'm not at all disappointed!
Better than more expensive Bose
If you think that the Bose are good sound and good looking, think again. They may be good looking but their sound does not even come close to this JBL.
Dang good
Seemingly built solid, sound very good. Only complaint is that they appear to be built to be mounted using brackets that I have not been able to locate yet. Still, they sound better than other speakers I have heard for the money. PS - I don't give anything 5 stars unless it is perfect, which not much is. ... Read more

Excellent value for money !
Bought a pair of infinity 360s after searching and comparing several speaker sets. Bottom line for me was these were the best speakers under $500. Plus, Crutchfield, where i bought them from (btw they are an excellent vendor for customer service - no im not paid by them to say this) had a special where I also got the matching center channel C20 for free.
Awesome Sound`
I bought these speakers yesterday and can't get enough! I had narrowed it down between the Infinity and the JBL E-80 and the Infinity's sound much crisper and cleaner,from movies to music they are a perfect match for my surround system.

Terrific sub -- if you get it at the right price
I got this sub to handle the low end for a stereo pair of bookshelf speakers from SVS (the very good SBS-01). I'm using the speakers in my office, so it's not a critical listening environment; I just wanted decent sound. Still, I'm very impressed with the Athena sub. Even though it's only got a 10" speaker, it delivers an amazing amount of clean, deep bass. The built-in amplifier is very powerful; I'm using the sub on a hard wooden parquet floor, and I only have the amp's volume control turned up to around 2 (out of 10). That hard floor can also make the bass a bit overpowering on occasion. I'm going to try putting a bit of carpet under the sub and seeing how that affects the sound.

Shakes the walls, bothers the neighbors, adds great bass... what more could you want from a sub?
I purchased this sub to complement two polk audio speakers for a 2.1 system.After browsing around online as well as some in person visits to stores, this is the most bang for the buck one could get from a sub.Whether watching a movie, or listening to music, the sub adds such rich bottoms, I'm very happy.

Major let down
I was very excited to see that my sub had finally arrived and couldn't wait to get it hooked up to my receiver. Unfortunately it was a wasted effort, as the sub did not work at all. Hooked up to a Denon receiver, carefully read the instructions and adjusted the the phase and crossover and got nothing. Tried every setting on the the receiver to make sure nothing was overlooked and still the light on the sub would not turn from red to green to indicate getting a signal, and still no sound. Went out and bought a new LFE cable to cover my bases and spoke to a tech at the store who could not add anything that I hadn't already tried. Bottom line, after 2 days of trial and error it doesn't work. Upon logging my return info to Amazon expecting to get a replacement, I am told that there are no more dispite their website listing them as a available for new purchase. This reenforces why I normally deal straight with the local electronics store. The one time I stray I get burned!

Perfect setup!
I purchased this sub woofer and Sony's SS-MB350H Bookshelf Speakers. This cube's SAW (Super Acoustically Loaded) design means it has no port. That makes it a prefect sonic match for the Acoustic Suspension of the SS-MB350H speakers. This combination is unique in the Sony lineup, all the other speakers are ported. Forget about the less expensive ported subs, or the more expensive towers. Buy the bargain priced SS-MB350H bookshelf speakers, and use the money you saved there to upgrade to this top of the line sub. Can you tell I am enthused about the results? This is one awesome setup!

Great sound for music and movies
After reading many positive reviews I purchased this sub 6 months ago.It has been great for movies and music.I like the auto shutoff feature.It provides tight bass for this price point and it will certainly rock the house in movies.I have it in a 14 x 22 foot room and it is plenty.

Bose Killers
Hands down the best sattelites out there all the way up to $700. Bose sound small and cannot hit frequencies nearly as low. Don't be fooled, any speaker that is not two-way (has seperate tweeter and driver) will not produce good sound at all because a large driver physically cannot reproduce teh high treble frequencies, and small bose drivers may handle the highs well (what Bose is known for) there is a huge gap in the midrange that the sub tries to make up, but it can't. The quintets also handle more power (200 watts peak, 100 rms) than almost any other sattelites out there including big speakers. Klipsch is the manufacturer of ultra high end sound systems for the theaters and with the quintets you will see why Klipsch has a cult following among audiophiles.

It won't change your life
I needed some lighter surround speakers to hang on the wall.These came highly reviewed from CNET and other sites, so I picked up a pair for $180 (now even cheaper).Given the choice, I would buy them again.That said, I can't tell the difference between the old ones I had (20 year old bookshelf speakers from LAR - a small shop in Buffalo).If you install them at the right height and distance, you'll be very happy with a set of these.

I can't say enough good about these little speakers.The shape may be a little odd but these are not toys or gimmicks.These are the best all around surround speakers I have ever heard.Combined with a good receiver and sub woofer, these little things fill the room in a way Bose only wishes it could.I just replaced my 10 year old bose Lifestyle 5 Series 3 system and have no regrets.The sound reproduction on movies is excellent but on music, look out!They light the room up.The sound is clear, crisp and not the least bit harsh.I spent over a month going to stores, reading reviews and ended up with the Mirage OmniSats for my 4 main speakers.I have the Omni 8 Sub and Energy XL-100 center.I listened to BIC's, Aperion's, Monitor Audio, NHT and others.The combo of size and quality can't be beat.They are the highest rated bookshelf speakers on CNET.I liked them so much I got a pair for my father in law. ... Great sound, good price
This puts the thunder in the picture pretty darned well.Be careful setting this up, as the speaker is pointed downward and when you pick it up you are touching the speaker if you are not careful.

Wow, buy this speaker for your Tivoli Three!
I liked the sound of the Tivoli Model Three all by itself quite a lot, considering it's only got one mono speaker and it's just a little clock radio. I liked it so much that I purchased the companion speaker.
Will make your radio rock
I thought I was a monophonic purist until seeing a Consumer Reports review that rated the sound quality of the Kloss Tivoli radio above even the Bose, Boston Acoustic, and Cambridge models providing it was hooked up to the satellite speaker.So for fifty bucks, why not?The speakers are on nightstands parallel with my head, so the sound is hardly balanced.On the other hand, it's kind of cool to hear a trombone coming from one side of the bed and an oboe from the other.So thumbs up on the extra speaker, though I'm not about to go crazy and install the Kloss sub-woofer underneath the bed.Not only is it over-priced but even without the sub-woofer the speakers, to my ears, are already bass-heavy.Maybe I'll reconsider if my cat stops purring and the prospect of a vibrating mattress suddenly seems attractive.

Tivoli's stained image?
Love the Audio quality...Tivoli has this down. Nice lows. Now externally, the Cherry finish on my "Model 3" speaker just doesn't match in the least my Tivoli Model 3 Clock radio. Something's missing
I like to have music in my office at work, and I have a door i can close.I don't need something loud, but I just couldn't stand the 1/2" speakers on the laptop.So, I just bought these.The last time I bought speakers for work, it was the Harman Kardon HK-595 speakers which has a subwoofer which is big enough for me to use as a laser printer stand.I got fired two days later.

The quality of sound is great as compared to the price I bought them at. I got them on a deal for 25$. They look good as well. Very nice to have.

I just bought this set for ~50 euro and I can almost compare it to a full-size audio speaker set of 10 times the price. Of course it does not have the depth as the more expensive sets but bass as well as treble is great. Very clear sound.I wish i could have bought something like this when I was young and had to buy large, unwieldy speakers. Big punch in a small package - Extraordinary Value
I replaced a JBL subwoofer that was twice the size of the Infinity PS-8. I am a fan of JBL equipment, especially their bookshelf speakers. The JBL sub had dual 6.5" drivers that fired down. I put carpet coasters under the legs of the sub so the drivers would remain far enough above the carpet to move without bottoming-out on the carpet. I even put a board under the sub, but took it out soon after becasue it made no difference. The sound was always kind of muddy with the JBL. I never got that tight bass I like so much when listening to The Police and other bass-heavy music. The sub was great for movies that had a lot of wall-shaking bass. This sub could rattle the walls, but it lacked definition, which I refer to as "tight" bass sound.
All I can say is ... WOW.
I'm kind of an amateur audio nut, and one of my longest held fantasies was to have an audio workstation at my desk that would allow me to do just about anything I wanted to in terms of simple recording, copying, listening to music, etc.
great sub for the size
i recently purchased the bose acoustimass 3, but i was dissapointed with the bass output, too much high end, not enough low end, so i returned it, and started looking for powere sub, i first tried JBL, the bass was not to impressive, tried MTX same sounds, tried POLK same, the i walked away and heard a good bass sound it was the 8 inch Infinity PS8, awesome bass for an 8" sub, a lil pricy, but get what you pay for, its still under $300, which is pretty good....great great great sub ... Not waterproof - "weather resistant"
Just make sure you know the difference. These speakers are NOT meant to get wet.They can handle being outside (ambient moisture, temp, wind, etc...) but aren't meant to be directly in the path of rain or snow.
Very good for the price
If you're looking for speakers to flood your patio with nice background sound without raising the ire of your neighbors, the Audio Source LS400's are a great choice.They are not the most powerful, but they provide excellent bacground music at a GREAT price.
