What morons
I laugh at the people who say they cant install this card, or it wont work, crash, bad drivers, etc.I am only 17 and I have installed the card on several different computers without a problem ever.Just uninstall your current sound card, or go to Sound Properties and disable the current sound card drivers.If you have a motherboard sound card, just do the same, and when your PC starts press delete and in the Bios disable onboard sound.From there snap the new sound blaster in the PCI slot and install your new drivers.It isnt that friggin hard, and the Sound Blaster 5.1 is the best sound quality I have heard for the money.If you want better, go for a high end Turtle Beach card or a Sound Blaster Platinum/Audigy but it will cost you more.Anway, you have to have the brains to install a sound card in the first place no matter what card you install.Otherwise, take it to your computer shop and let someone else do it for you!

Lots of static/bad support at Auzentech
Well I was really excited about this card, all the reviews I read gave it glowing recommendations.I recieved it and installed it in my HTPC.Unfortunatley I had static and fuzz during playback on any format - mpg avi mp3, etc..I contacted Auzentech via their website - they dont offer phone support, the FAQ is very slim, only 2 or 3 troubleshooting tips. I opened a ticket with their online ticket system and waited 9 days with no response.I emailed their feedback asking what the deal was and finally got a response, however, the response was addressed to someone with a different name and the troubleshooting they suggested was for Nforce 4 when I clearly indicated I have a NF2 board.The next day I got another response apologizing for the name mix up and advising me there are known issues for NF2 as well as NF4 boards and suggesting I install the latest drivers from their website (that was the first thing I did before contacting them).I tried reinstalling the drivers and asking for more support, I recieved no more responses from their troubleshooting and the drivers did not help (as I suspected since I already tried that)I tried troubleshooting everything I could think of, updated drivers for the chipset, the soundcard, the video card, tried different TOSlink cables as well as analog and nothing has helped.Since I cannot get any help from Auzentech I plan on RMA'ing this board today.
Excellent for playing music; hit or miss for games
If your plan is to connect your computer to a surround sound system and enjoy the full power your system supports, then this sound card is far superior to anything from Creative Slobs.

Constantly crash while playing games with WinXP
This card constantly causes my Dell 8300,2.8Ghz to crash while playing games (Max Payne 1&2).Downloaded and installed latest driver (version 1.89) still does not help!Other than that the card is OK for other things.I would appreciate if someone come up with fix for this!Thanks.

Excellent product
I never knew music from the computer could sound so good. I'm running WinXP with a brand name computer that has onboard sound. After installing the card, the onboard sound was automatically switched off. The 706 is very well made, looks solid and is actually thicker than a $$$ video card. You can tell just by the looks of it, it sounds exceptional. Have a strong dislike for this card

Double check compatibility
Great card, but it has compatibility problems with the Abit KT7 (RAID) motherboard and Windows 2000.It works great in Windows 98/ME, and works great in Windows XP.

Don't Let Them Tell You...
This sound card is one amazing piece of hardware!Prior to making my purchase, I used Creative's Ensonic, a 128-voice card.I've read everywhere that all one needs to enjoy CD sound from mp3's is a 128-voice card (and the right bit rate recording).Turns out that was a bunch of horse doo.This SB card fills my room with sound, soft highs and smooth lows, and has breathed new life into my entire music collection.If you're using a cheesy old card like I was and you're looking to improve the quality of music coming from your PC (not necessarily video games), buy this card.You won't regret it!

I bought this card to replace my Diamond Monster MX300 which finally gave out on me.I was extremely happy with the MX300 and so I expected at least similar quality or better from a newer card.I am not (so far) disappointed.Read more

Good sound card, bad drivers
The drivers for the SBLive have never been great.With Windows 2000 the drivers were horrible.With Windows XP, you can have basic functionality, but instally Liveware (required to get all the features from the card) will cause system instability, etc.Don't buy this for XP!

Generous bundled software
Sblive MP3 comes with some excellent software for listening and recording music including Cakewalk.It also has a Karaoke program and a voice assist program with an animated Parrot!It's worth it just for the Creative Playcenter and effects.The sound card itself performs very well.It was easy to install and I'm happy I got it.

Great!
First I thought about buying the Santa Cruz by Turtle Beach but the software bundle wasn't as good as Creatives. So for the great audio and MP3 tools I went with this card. It was very easy to install. I had no problems with it running on Win2k.Another good reason it has Dolby Digital 5.1 decoding and with the DeskTop Theater� 5.1 DTT2200 the sound is just stunning! works pretty well with stereo hook-up
My sound improvement wasn't as dramatic as many people describe, likely because I already had my computer wired to a good reciever and speakers, but I did notice an improvement over the integrated system I have once I made some adjustments. If you listen to rock, pop, blues or jazz, this card can make everything seem a bit brighter and punchier. It also seems to improve Pandora internet radio streams even more than my mp3's, though I have to keep the volume at about 3/4 in the Pandora player to prevent distortion. If you mostly listen to classical on a good stereo, I'm not sure if this card will do much for the sound, but it might.

compare to my sound blaster live, I give 2 star for it
the Digital out can only support 2 speakers.

Know where the enemy is.
I was skeptical at first that a sound card could improve my gaming ability, but I was amazed at how much of a difference it makes. I've had it for one day and already I've noticed much better response time sound-wise. I'm able to hear my opponents from further away and locate them easier as well. I play counter-strike source regularly, and my teammates have already begun to ask my how I know where the enemy is so quickly. This is a great enhancement to my gaming experience and I would recommend it to anyone who demands the best in gaming.

I am in awe...
The liquid crystal treble and deep, low (but no longer boomy\buzzy) bass brought a couple of tiny tears to my eye -- this card is that good. And that was just with listening to a rip of a favorite CD I own (Sasha | Airdrawndagger). AND, I should point out, those weren't even .mp3 files -- I use .m4a for 99% of my digital music, a file format that is almost completely lossless. I thought my Audigy 2ZS card was cool, and until this new card was released I wasn't considering upgrading. The X-Fi Fatal1ty card completely blows it away, seriously. With the Crystalizer feature enabled and set to 75%, the resulting gorgeous sweeping sounds of 'Airdrawndagger' washed over me in a completely new way - I heard parts of the tracks I'd never noticed before. What this incredible card does for games is just beyond belief. I admit, I was a tiny bit skeptical upon reading all the glowing reviews out there, but after hearing what the X-Fi Fatal1ty can do for my audio experience, I have to say I am definitely a believer of the well-deserved hype. Do yourself a favor - I know it's pricey, but if you have the means don't hesitate to pick up this card right away. If you are a serious gamer at all, like I am, you definitely need this version of the card. Don't hesitate!!

Great Sound and a minimum of bloatware
I replaced an Audigy 2Zs with this X-FI. My reaction whenm I first heard the results was "Holly *()^%*&^!!" One other plus id for once the software bundle was useful and not a bunch of cheap bloatware (hear that H.P. we do not all want bloadware).

Eugh - Yuk!
Some of you guys must have some crummy soundcards installed on your machines if this widget sounds better than your stock unit.
Good Fix for Laptop Audio
Solid product.Headphone/speaker jack on my laptop died and manufacturer wanted $40 just to cover shipping fees to have it fixed!I bought this great little unit instead for under $30.Good audio.Actually, it saved my laptop once too, laptop fell from 2-3 feet but landed right on the rubberized Turtle Beach Micro, which took most of the force.It was bent 90 degrees at the USB connector but it still worked!Proof of solid construction...

Not practicable in WindowsXP in non Administrator accounts
Like most device drivers the Turtle Beach specific driver needs to be installed with Administrative rights. Nothing unusual.
