The USB 9750 lasted about a year and 4 months before developing problems with one of the internal gears. (pretty bad for $1,000 product)The only option that Visioneer offered was 25% off of the purchase of a new scanner.They do not repair their product and do not offer the names of any third party vendors who will repair their product.

It gets the job done!
I think this is a fabulous scanner.I'm the curator for a photographic website ...and I've run over 4000 11"x14" photographs through mine with no problems.I use ULead's PhotoImpact 6 for image processing (TIF to JPG) - it's the only program that allows macros - when you're doing 4000 scans with several manual steps the macros are indispensible.I can't say I'm looking forward to scanning the next 4000 photos, but I sure know this scanner can do the job. I wasted no time returning this scanner.Ihave eventually settled on a Microtek 4600.The Epson is sleek appearing, lightweight, fast.But fast is no good when the results are unuseable.The Epson software doesn't permit you to preset what you want to scan and whether or not to push more light to it, or less.It defaults to amateur settings and the results might thrill someone who's never used a scanner before, but anyone who has used one for graphics work of any kind, will find it unworthy.The factory is impossible to get hold of either through email, or telephone.In essence the software is lousy and the support is nil. Back it went.

Excellent Scanner for the price
This scanner is an excellent purchase for an ad agency or design house looking to improve their color.Right out of the box, this scanner has excellent color reproduction, and the 3.6 DMax grabs excellent detail in the shadows.Our agency... has a client roster of many large agribusiness firms, and this scanner grabs onto individual hairs in even the blackest Black Angus cattle.Read more

I love it!!! so clean so fast...so quiet
I am no techie by any stretch of the word, but anything that is quick simple easy and fast, I will take. My hubby purchased the scanner for us to scan our wedding pix and in no time I had scanned over 100 pictures. It is quick and quiet, I did not have to crop, lighten, clean up not one single picture. I have recommended this scanner to a lot of my friends. I don't think the software that comes with it is easy to use so my hubby has us using Photoshop, which is just fine by me. I say get it, worth every penny

amazing scanner for old slides!
I hesitated a long time before buying this scanner, because it's very hard to know what quality, what definition one needs to get good prints from slides. Great scanner...well worth it!
I purchased this scanner at the end of May...and have been using it since then with great results -- I scan photos mostly, but have also spent a lot of time recently with slides, many of which I took more than 25 years ago -- Just yesterday, I used the transparency adapter to work with a friend's slides from almost 40 years ago -- I used the 1200 dpi setting, then previewed, cropped, and scanned...after which I printed the results on the Espson 1280 -- My friend was extremely pleased with the prints -- I rarely use the maximum of 3200...mostly I use the 800 or 1200 dpi and never have the results been disappointing -- The setup was easy, the software installed without a hitch, the scanner works relatively quickly and very, I consider, quite professionally --I think it's a great scanner. ... works great for a PC, no luck on a Mac
The nuscan 3000 is an excellent barcode scanner. It is comfortable to grip, lightweight, and it works like a charm without any other software using windows xp.Plug it in, and it scans immediately, printing the text directly into a program like MS Word.My problem with the product is that the Adesso web site and the vendor I bought it from both state it works in Mac OSX, and I bought it to use with a Mac.So far, no luck with OS X 10.4.7 or 10.4.8.The user manual suggests scanning a particular programmming barcode in the manual to insure it is configured for the appropriate host, but such a barcode doesn't exist in the user manual.The toll-free support line answers to an answering machine, and the tech support guys who answered my email replied "try it on windows, if it doesn't work, then its a faulty scanner.If it does work, then we'll have to see what else we can try."Hmmmmm.On a PC, I'd rate this a five stars.As a mac product, though, its a disappointment. ... Reliable
This is a very reliable scanner, it's ideal if you are a beginner and are not a computer genious. The good thing about it is that you connect the printer to it and the Scanner to the Parallel port in the computer, so there is no need for additional USB'S or Parallel ports.
