Why does Bose induce so manycontradictoryopinions?
I am not an audiophyle, just a music lover. My main system consists of Proac 140 speakers, MF x 150 amp and XRay cd coupled with PSU and MF DAC. I have a Michell Giro turntable. Whats this to do with Bose? may you ask. Well just intended to say that I am used to a middle range audio equipment with pedigree. It hapens that I spend many hours in a private office home, crowded with shelves, books and papers, so that I have no space to position box speakers. Recently I decided to purchase a Bose kit. My amp is a old Pioneer A 400, and a Marantz CD 76 MkII is my source.

Don't be fooled by the naysayers on the Bose speaker systems, especially the Acoustimass satellite systems. These speakers will blow you away for their size. I bought a Lifestyle system when they first came out back in 1994. I was amazed, and everyone who has never heard a LS system from Bose, is completely blown away by the sound from such a small package. The LS systems are overpriced UNLESS you need and want all their features (and then probably still given you could build your own theather system cheaper with "different" sound, but not necessarily better sound). You're paying for the SMALLNESS, not necessarily the BEST equipment.

excellent product
I went to Best Buy to test all the outdoor speakers in person, and these did better than the BOSE and other high end brands. These are the best speakers for the money. They have great high and mid range sound, but lack much bass, which is to be expected with most outdoor speakers with speakers smaller than 4". If you have the money ($400+) go with the Klipsch speakers. These are the best alternative.

JBL Northridge speakers
Received speakers with no trouble at all.Sound quality is excellent.Installation was quite easy.Would definitely order from WholesaleAV again.

Excellent Speakers.
I had a chance to listen to these little speakers at a friend's house and I liked them very much. They had distinctive high ends that could only be found from JBL speakers. The midrange was pretty smooth and clear but obviously there was not much bass from the small 4" drivers. Because of their flexible on-wall mounting/positioning and since each of them also has a 3/4" Titanium-laminate tweeter as the E-series speakers, I planned to buy a pair of them to use as surround back speakers in my 7.1 speaker system which consists of all E-series speakers. However, when I contacted JBL's technical supports, I was told that the N24AWII's were very close timbre-match but not perfect match for the E-series speakers and that I would better use the E10's instead if I wanted perfect tonal match for my speaker system. I think I will get the E10's but the E10's can't be mounted on the wall as easily and as flexibly as the N24AWII. ... Read more

Wow, buy this speaker for your Tivoli Three!
I liked the sound of the Tivoli Model Three all by itself quite a lot, considering it's only got one mono speaker and it's just a little clock radio. I liked it so much that I purchased the companion speaker.
Will make your radio rock
I thought I was a monophonic purist until seeing a Consumer Reports review that rated the sound quality of the Kloss Tivoli radio above even the Bose, Boston Acoustic, and Cambridge models providing it was hooked up to the satellite speaker.So for fifty bucks, why not?The speakers are on nightstands parallel with my head, so the sound is hardly balanced.On the other hand, it's kind of cool to hear a trombone coming from one side of the bed and an oboe from the other.So thumbs up on the extra speaker, though I'm not about to go crazy and install the Kloss sub-woofer underneath the bed.Not only is it over-priced but even without the sub-woofer the speakers, to my ears, are already bass-heavy.Maybe I'll reconsider if my cat stops purring and the prospect of a vibrating mattress suddenly seems attractive.

Tivoli's stained image?
Love the Audio quality...Tivoli has this down. Nice lows. Now externally, the Cherry finish on my "Model 3" speaker just doesn't match in the least my Tivoli Model 3 Clock radio. When there are side x side, which unfortuantly they are, it looks as if I'm the one aesthetically challanged. I have to say to myself "well at least it sounds good" Tivoli, oh Tivoli... ... I'm soooo glad I unloaded these on someone else
I ditched my AM6 speakers through eBay and bought some good speakers instead. Anyone who likes Bose must only have their clock radio as a point of reference. I was able to sucker some chump into paying $400 for my Bose AM6 speakers, which I turned around into a set of Athena .5 speakers and a 10" Velodyne sub. All running from the same Pioneer VSX-D711 AV receiver as the Bose. My new speakers set me back about $350, leaving money left over for speaker wire and stands.
sounds like a theatre

Not worth the money or hype!
I heard this set at my Grandfather's friend's house. I think the fella spent like $750.00 on it from a local outlet mall. What a waste of well earned retirement money! He had a higher end Marantz receiver firing these puppies, and let me tell you the receiver was being shamefully wasted on these speakers. The lower end frequencies were o.k. and the highs were sufficient. What I felt was missing was the solid mids and voice presence. Don't get me wrong, music sounded good. But, trying to watch a movie was like riding in a car with huge subs and tweeters in the front door pillars. The lack of mid-bass was a huge downfall with these speakers.

Unbelievable!
I picked up a pair of these to run off of my computer.I'm listening an mp3 on em right now, hooked up to a junk amp meant to power a set of logitec surround speakers and all I can say is wow!Given higher quality power and a better source (dvd audio or CD) it could only get better from here.

superb sound
I was looking for a slim tower style speaker to upgrade my 2 front speakers for my surround sound system. After looking around onlne i saw many tower style speakers but was disappointed that most speakers were just tall and empty, i thought why make a tall speaker and only put 1 speaker in the box how deceiving. I finally settled on the athenaws -60 cause it was one of the only speaker with more than one speaker in there although it wasnt as tall as the others in its class . I took a pair ofthose babys home and hooked them up, alll i can say is AMAZING, sound is crisp clear and powerfull, All voices shine through these speakersand the tweater is crisp and clear. well worth the money. The Sub woofer is very weak for being an active Sub
The Surround and bookshelf speakers sound great the sub woofer hits like a mouse and crackles if I put the sub volume 2 mpoints above minimum look some where else if want to feel any sort of rumble.I will be replacing the Sub and keeping the others

I paired this Pioneer SFCRW240LS Home Theater Speaker System with a Harman-Karden AVR335 receiver and couldn't be more pleased. You may find better speakers but for a (12 ft. by 18 ft.)family room, they are quite adequate.The color and style goes quite well with most interior room decor and I feel that this speaker system is a great buy for the price. ...
