Ideal for quality stereo listening, for expanding your surround system from 5.1 to 6.1 or 7.1 channels to deliver the latest home theater surround formats, and for multiroom setups, Onkyo's M-282 stereo power amplifier makes a powerful and affordable system upgrade. The amp uses Onkyo's exclusive Wide Range Amplifier Technology and pumps 2 x 100 watts per channel RMS into 8 ohm speakers and 2 x 125 wpc into 6 ohms. (For dynamic power handling, you're looking at 2 x 140 watts into 8 ohms, 2 x 125 watts into 6 ohms.)Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars AMPed system
I have been using this AMP for the better part of three years. It has never failed, overheated, or given an unsatisfactory performance. It looks sexy and performes like a pro.You will not be dissapointed; I'm not.

3-0 out of 5 stars Onkyo
Onkyo is a relatively large japanese audio maker.
3-0 out of 5 stars Good, But I am glad I did not buy anything cheaper
I was looking for a "cheap" amp to drive my 2nd zone "background" music speakers. My price point was around $200 and this unit has a good look to it, so it would fit in next to my more "up scale" B&K separates.

5-0 out of 5 stars AWESOME, but ugh
Great features, awesome sound, even with their "virtual surround back" feature when not having the back surround(s) installed.
3-0 out of 5 stars Ventilate
This is a great receiver...but watch out, it needs to be well ventilated.Mine blew up after 31 days in an admittedly poorly ventilated entertainment center. The main problem is that the exhaust vents on the receiver are on the sides and it is a pretty wide peice of equipment so there is not a lot of room to breath in your average enclosed entertainment center.I'm also still waiting for the thing to be repaired because apparently JVC has no parts and everything is on back-order (its been 31 days since I dropped it off for repair).

5-0 out of 5 stars Basic preamp with a decent sound
I'm using this preamp with an Adcom power amp and Sony SACD player mainly for music on my back porch with remote Polk outdoor speakers. This is not for critical listening--all I wanted was decent sound with minium fuss. The AudioSource does a good job for this setup and I'm very happy with the product. It doesn't have much in the way of features but that's okay with me.If I was depending on it for my main system, I would want a remote control. If that's unimportant to you, the price is right.

1-0 out of 5 stars Quality Control?
I just received my AudioSource pre one/a preamp in the mail.Anxious, I hooked everything up (correctly) and immediately noticed noise coming from my speakers, which resembled speakers that had damaged voice coils. How could this be?I tried another set of speakers, and the same result occured. Not believing it could be the brand new preamp, I had one more card up my sleeve.I hooked up my Koss Pro4/AA's via a y-connector out of one set of preamp outs on the back of the AudioSource preamp. To make a long story longer, after finishing this review, I'm shipping this lemon back!BOO- AudioSource!P.S.- I reluctantly gave this item 1 star, but I guess that's where the scale starts!David Ramos,Tehachapi,California
4-0 out of 5 stars Great value!
5 stars for value and sound quality. 1 star less for lack of headphone amp. You won't be disappointed with AudioSource Pre One/A unless your audio equipment is worth good car and you listen to music in soundproof chamber. If you do, take one star off my rating. ... Read more

The Harman Kardon AVR 645 home theater receiver serves as the hub of your home entertainment system, providing a wide range of listening possibilities for almost any audio or video program source. This 7.1-channel surround sound receiver pumps out 75 watts of power per channel (with all channels operating at full power), for 525 watts of total power. The AVR 645's seven-channel amplifier provides the power to reproduce the loudest crescendos or cinema sound effects while remaining virtually free from distortion or system noise. It includes two HDMI inputs for uncompressed digital audio and video via a single cable. And it's compatible with the optional Harman Kardon Bridge, which links the receiver to your Apple iPod and enables you to control playback of individual songs and playlists via the Harman Kardon remote control. 4-0 out of 5 stars AVR 645 review
My DPR 2005 had issues and I sent it in for warranty service.Harmans warranty department is great, and I was able to trade out my DPR for the new AVR 645, which retails $500 less then the DPR and outputs less power, but has more modern features such as "The Bridge", XM, USB, and HDMI connections.I am dissapointed to say that this unit does not have the EZset feature on the remote control anymore.God knows why as this feature was rated great! Now you have to run the provided mic and cord to the unit for setup, perhaps it works better this way and offers a more accurate EQ curve, I dont know.

Great receiver when you have a remote control that works...took my remote control to a warranty service center Feb 7th....Here it is now July 10th....Been backordered months....Don,t know if i would buy another Sony Home Theater System...Very disappointed in service after the sale....horrible!!!!!!!!

2-0 out of 5 stars Great when it works.
We got this for Christmas. It is wonderful when it works. The first failure happened in January - didn't make it 30 days. The unit would intermittently cut out.I dropped it off for service and they apparently fixed the problem.Earlier this week it "popped," and died again. Now I'm going to SHIP it, at my expense, to Sony's only remaining service center in Laredo, TX.Thankfully the unit has a 2 year warranty, but the shipping cost is a drag.I expect more from Sony.I am disappointed.

3-0 out of 5 stars Fills a market niche for an affordable, user-friendly tuner
Per comments in the other review on this tuner, no, the tuner market hasn't disappeared, it's just fragmemented. The trend towards home theater has really hit the stereo component market, pretty much killing the low and middle end sections of it (the high end audio market is still going strong, with plenty of tuners in the $500+ range available).
4-0 out of 5 stars Good tuner, decent price
My old tuner recently gave up the ghost, so I got the Teac R670. Can't argue with the price, and it works pretty well. AM and FM reception are both pretty decent, although FM is not nearly as good as my Tivoli Model Two radio. AM is much better than the Tivoli.

5-0 out of 5 stars Nice compact system.
I bought this for my "technology challenged" parents and they were able to use it easily. The controls are very logical. Sound is not bad either, but it is not high powered, and there are no separate bass and treble controls. For the money it is a good deal because you can play cassettes, CDs, and an AM/FM radio.

1-0 out of 5 stars SONY = Stops Operating Next Year
This unit looks nice and plays nice, until it doesn't anymore.
4-0 out of 5 stars review for Sony CMT-NEZ3 Micro component system
The unit was satisfying as advirtised in all ways.

4-0 out of 5 stars Works for me!
I bought this unit from Amazon for $46 and I use it daily at work. I drive a garbage truck and the unit gets a good shaking from me picking up and emptying up to 1000 bins each day. The unit does run hot but it has worked faultlessly despite hitting the floor a couple of times

1-0 out of 5 stars Junk from the Factory
Unit gets so hot it leads to other problems. The LCD display is almost unreadable due to the heat. It is nearly untouchable due to the heat. The power cord disconects everytime you hit a bump or touch the unit which makes it hard to change stations and also bad if you were into something you were listening to! I also believe the power cord issue is heat related since the adapter plug gets soft after use because of the heat.
1-0 out of 5 stars DO NOT BUY!
I purchased my unit at wal-mart. In nine days the power cord broke.Customer service told me to pound sand. It's an "accessory". After 5 months the unit died and I sent it back. A new one in the box arrived in about two weeks. This unit makes the first unit better by comparison. I have had this unit for two weeks and it often does not work. I drive an hour to work and it does nothing but display the sirius logo.I leave the unit on all day and nothing happens but last night on my way home it was working. I will be shipping it back soon. Good customer service would make up for a lousy product but that's not available at XACT. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect Amp for my center channel
This Amp did not disappoint! Our main Dolby 5.1 audio system has one big drawback: the speakers are all mounted in the downstairs ceiling and my daughter's room is right above them so I can' run them after 7:00pm when she goes to sleep. Problem is, without a true center channel running, my wife and often have trouble picking up dialog from the weak built-in speakers of our 61" JVC HDTV.
5-0 out of 5 stars Nice small, versatile amp.
I use pairs of these in my conference rooms. They provide pleny of power, are small, support both balanced and unbalanced inputs, and the auto-power feature means I don't even have to touch them; when the audio source is turned off so do all the amps.
5-0 out of 5 stars good value

It does run hot, with only side vents, none on the top, but the smaller package is the likely culprit.
