5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing TV
I finally decided to jump on the HDTV bandwagon after countless years justifying the SDTV with "how much better could it really be...it's just TV."However, after having this set for a week I am AMAZED!The picture quality is outstanding and the viewing angles are great (not like the old projection screens). The number of connections you can make to this television equates to basically 2 of everything (think Noah's Ark for geeks). In fact the only problem (if you could call it that) are the built in speakers which are acceptable for normal TV watcing in semi quiet environments but I have it hooked up to my Onkyo receiver for watching movies or sports.
5-0 out of 5 stars Wow!Can't go wrong with this one
Well, I could write a bunch of stuff here... but, the last reviewer pretty much nailed it.Great set, great value. Now that the TV has dropped another $50 since I bought it, it's an even better deal. The set alone with free shipping and no tax is $450 less than the local retailers around here.So you can easily afford an extended warranty, indoor antenna and probably even an "up-convert" DVD player... or even an XBOX 360.My fear after ordering this 50" and going back to the stores and seeing the 56" and 61" models was that I should have bought a bigger one.Nope, the 50" is huge... at least in my living room it is.Great set!Buy it!Amazon has the lowest price.Free shipping got it to my area in a week.It got to my local airport on Friday morning. However, due to contract drivers only going to certain areas on certain days, it was going to sit there until Wednesday. No way did I want to have it sit there all weekend a me miss all the football and baseball games! So I called and they said I could come pick it up, and I did.Shipping company was very good, helped me get it loaded up, strapped down.Very light to get it in the house too.Anyway, the TV rocks.Get one for yourself.

5-0 out of 5 stars Result of 5 months of careful research
First, let me say that I am not in a place in life where I feel the need to justify a purchase and subsequent expenditure to the world at large via a review. If I felt I have made a mistake of sorts, I would warn other technical soujourners to heed my call and avoid the jagged rocks that ended my High-Def exploration. That being said, this Samsung will blow you away.I spent at least 5 months going between technologies..Plasma-vs.LCD-vs. LCD projection-vs.DLP.When I saw this set in the 60" at Best Buy I was impressed..but not over Plasma. But using a HD Tv for movies and Xbox primarily...I went with DLP for the 'no-fear' factor of burn-in issues, color and longevity. Looking at Plasma sets change pictures...I could see 'ghost' images left over from the second before..and LCD screen-door effects are noticable to me. I don't get it...I have always been hyper-alert to details and just KNEW I would be the type that would 'see' things that others can live with...but will drive me slowly insane over time..leaving me rocking and mumbling alone on the florr with my medications in years to come. Anyway...I liked the fact the the only thing that will decay on a DLP is the bulb...and once replaced, the set is a good as new year after year..as opposed to LCD and Plasma reality that things will dim over time...maybe a lot of time..but they will. Okay..High-def decisions made. Sweaty hands clutch the charge card and press in the numbers on line. Done. (PS..I compared prices between 30 storres across the USA. Amazon beat them all with no tax/no shipping. Many chains will SAY no shipping cost....but then just ask about getting a call to alert you your order is coming..and you have to upgrade your shipping...for another $200. Amazon offers TRUE no-cost shipping with white-glove service whichin means a courtesy call so you can meet the delivery at your home)

This TV is everything it claims to be. Plus, with Amazon's free shipping, it is the best deal you can find. It only took a week or so after shipping to get the TV. Out of the box, the picture is unbelievable. Samsung's DNIe option can be turned off, which is nice on some HD things. I have my PC hooked up can use the full 1920x1080 resolution. Although there are few direct sources for 1080p yet, it is a smart call to grab this TV now, as the PS3 will play BlueRay for a fraction of the price of the normal players (plus you get a supercomputing game system in the process!). Anyways, grab this TV now!

Ordered Samsung on 10/1 and rec'd it on 10/7. (expected delivery date given was 3rd week of October) As mentioned, the shipping service brought it in, unpacked and set it exactly where we asked them to. In short, the TV has performed superbly; HD is amazing for the price. I don't need to delve into technical talk b/c everyone has for the most part touched on how great the picture is. I was skeptical at first, but was I ever so wrong... ... Read more

I bought this TV with high expectation and I am still amazed by its quality.
5-0 out of 5 stars Absolutely Amazing!
If you are in the market to buy a new HDTV....buy this Samsung! I don't even know where to start. But I have had my Samsung 61" for 2 days now and it is by far the BEST tv I have ever seen. The 61" is even bigger in my living room than it looks in the store showroom. Amazon's service was nothing short of Professional when handling my pre-order and getting my Samsung DLP delivered safely and quicker then estimated.
5-0 out of 5 stars Oh my heavens
Let me first start by saying this tv is an upgrade from my 13inch aiwa, I just bought a new condo and decided to get a good tv. And man is it!

4-0 out of 5 stars Great TV for the price!
With so many tv's out there I think you have to start at your budget.Mine was $1200-$1400. How much can you spend? I guess the more you spend the better the tv, right?I read up on DLP, LCD and Plasma. All had strengths and weaknesses. So decide on what you want. DLP - the bulb may burn out after 2-3 years and cost $250 but you can replace it yourself. LCD - be careful with the screen and watch out for dead pixels.Plasma - burn spots if you play PS2 games. Now that you have the budget and type of tv sorted, which brand?Samsung, from my research, came out top. All the reviews showed they produce the most reliable and have the better picture quality. Now the size. The biggest you can for the budget you have and the type (DLP/LCD/Plasma). I picked the Samsung 46 inch DLP.I play PS2 games, so did not want to suffer burn spots. This was the largest for my budget of $1200. I ordered from Amazon and delivery was in 8 days (free shipping!). I had found cheaper places but they added shipping taking it over Amazons price.

Well let me start by saying I am not sure who these reviewers are that have reviewed this Samsung HL-S4666W, maybe they are paid by Samsung who knows.Well here is my nightmare of a story

4-0 out of 5 stars Samsung LCD LNS4692D
Cool looking TV when turned off. The HD channels are great but the regular channels are kind of grainy. Is this true with all big screen TV's, if someone could answer me that would be great. I don't know if a plasma will make the regular channels look less grainy. Any comments or suggestions please let me know!
4-0 out of 5 stars Very noticeable ghost images appearing
My parents just bought this TV in August. It was great during bright scenes, and sports looked great on ESPN HD and Over-the-AIR channels. However I noticed some ghosting during dark scenes. It is currently hooked up via HDMI (Monster Cable) to the DISH NETWORK ViP622 DVR receiver and Sony DVD Player (DVP-NS75H) via HDMI (Monster Cable). Ghosting showed up while watching the movie RV (during dark/night scenes) and watching movies on TNT HD, HDNET movies and other channels. The Technician came by today and quickly acknowledged the ghosting problem. He ordered a Video Processor? (not sure of exact part) and will install in about 10 days. I will post an update once the part is installed with the details of exactly what part was installed and if it fixed the problem. The picture still looks great, but the ghosting does become very annoying once you begin to notice it. I could find no other postings of anyone having this same problem.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fine product
Beautiful set for the living room. It is very easy to clean with a cloth provided.Picture is great on HD and ok on SD channels over component.

5-0 out of 5 stars Outstanding HDTV!!
It was time to update my 6 year old 52" Samsung Projection and break into HDTV...I knew I was going with Samsung again because of the pure satisfaction of my previous big screen, and DLP was the way to go fo me after much research.I've had this TV for 3 weeks now and could not be happier, it is everything I knew it was going to be and then some, and it is a very good looking TV as well.Amazon's price could not be beat and the delivery company Eagle was top notch(for free to boot)!!Great TV and the HD is awesome, I paired this TV with the Samsung Home Theater HT-Q80, and it is a match made in heaven, I'm able to run the DVDs through the second HDMI input and they look amazing!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Look no further, this is IT.
I've been watching and waiting for over 6 months before buying.I was certain I was going to get the Samsung DLP HDTV but which model I was unsure. After reading review after review I knew I wanted the option to turn off the DNIe feature. The HLS-5086w allows the option to turn it off if wanted and so I just recently purchased this TV.
5-0 out of 5 stars FANTASTIC for FOOTBALL!
I cannot tell you how elated we are to have this television. We had just moved into our new home so my wife and I decided we would like to have a larger television for our new den. I did ALOT of research on the subject while we were trying to attempt a decision.
