I would not buy
I purchased one (from a local store not Amazon.com), brought it home and printed a photograph that I had previously printed on a Kodak EasyShare printer (my mother-in-law's).The resulting photograp was horrible, it had a very green tint to it.I then adjusted the various enhancement controls within the printer, the green tint remained.I checked the troubleshooting section of the manual, checked/cleaned the print heads, and still the problem remained.Given that the product is still on the market, I suspect I had a broken unit.
my picturemate
I love my picturemate, i can take pictures and print them soon after. I will say that it is a great product to buy. I have grand children who are on the move. Now with picturemate i can process pictures in my own home. Thank you picturemate.
Ink runs out way before the paper
This is a fine little printer for 4x6 prints. And if it actually delivered anywhere near the stated number of prints per pack, it would also be economical. Because I don't print a lot, my ink runs out way before the paper does, leaving me with stacks of useless paper. Epson does not allow you to buy ink without also buying paper, so you are stuck. Other companies selling "compatible" ink cartridges are selling dy based inks, whereas the printer is designed to use a pigment base. So 3rd party ink solutions are not the way to go.

Driver and software incompatibilities?
Please Google "Print Queue problem iP5200." Exactly the same problem I experienced is described by some other unfortunate people. The problem is that after printing a job, it stays in Print Queue for several minutes, and the second job cannot be started immediately. Those who reported the problem on internet did not get any solution. Of course, they and I contacted Canon. Those who posted the problem on internet and I used the latest printer driver. I have Windows XP Home with all updates installed. The reviewers here didn't seem to have this serious problem. I don't know why a small number of people experience the problem. One person who reported the problem on internet reinstalled Windows system without solving the problem. I didn't go that far.
Canon iP5200 Photo Printer
The printer is well made and functions well. Speed is good for both text and photos, even at high quality. My main complaint is that photos, especially poitraits, have a distinct reddish tint. It's difficult to remove the proper amount of cyan since the photos look perfect on the monitor. I've waisted way to much photo paper and still can't duplicate the image on the monitor. If anyone has an answer to this problem let me know please.

A great printer for home office, cross-platform (Mac & PC) printing!
We purchased this printer to replace an aging HP Laserjet 4 that we've had for 12 years. Our requirements were that it would work with my wife's PowerBook Mac running OSX 10.3, and also with my HP Compaq laptop running XP. Both our laptops are connected to the Internet in our home office via our wifi Apple Airport Extreme (neither of our laptops are actually wired to the Internet).

Frustrating Cartridge Problems
This printer was very nice for the first month we owned it - nice pictures with the photo printing cartridge. Then, we had the first cartridge "failure" and it has been downhill since.Nearly brand new cartridges fail, producing horrible prints and wasting large amounts of money. All of our attempts to get help from HP did not solve the problem and now we don't even bother trying to fix the failed print cartridges. They still work, just make awful looking print outs with lines through them.I don't feel like throwing away another 30 bucks just to have the nearly full cartridge fail in a couple of weeks!Remember when HP was a sign of a quality printer?I'm starting to forget too!
Absolutely flawless!!An Excellent companion to your Digital Camera!!
We have owned HP 7760 printer for over a year, and it has been absolutely flawless!!Very easy to use, with surreal print quality...it works even without your PC!!Great companion to your Digital Camera!!Highly recommended!!
Excellent Printer, Superb Price
This printer was given as a gift two years ago, but would not work with my Windows 95 PC; however, when I upgraded to a new iMac this year I pulled the HP Photosmart 7760 out of the box and gave it a try. Installation was straightforward, though I did have to "modify" the USB cable -- which, inexplicably, you must purchase separately -- to make it fit into the printer side of the connection. Otherwise the printer was up and running within minutes.

Stops printing even if one cartridge is out
The real problem with this printer is that if any of its four cartridges is out, it won't print at all. I most of the times use black ink and hardly do any color printing, but during the process of cleaning itself it consumes color cartridges. When any of the color cartridges is out, no more even black printing. So it is really bad. Pinting quality, however, is fine.
Expensive printer
I print an average of 5-10 pages/month. Each time I have to clean the heads otherwise the print quality is low. This consumes a lot of ink. BTW, you can't clean the heads if one or more cartriges are low on ink and using the printer w/o one cartrige is not an option.
Not a good deal
I purchased this printer, and the ink QUICKLY ran out. Upon trying to replace it, couldnt get the ink to work in it. So I got one round of printing from this printer. Not a good deal.
