This projector is great and quiet.Just dont buy it from tigerdirect.Their service is horrible to say the least.I paid for two day shipping and got over a week, 8 day shipping.All the while saying to me I'll have it tomorrow. I bought this projector in December and am very pleased with the quality of the product. It does everything it is advertised to do, including a decent job of projecting DVD movies. It has been a real asset to my teaching.

Very good image quality from DVD player, lots of good functions.
Good equipment for small groups
I purchased this multimedia projector on behalf of a local non-profit organization after comparing its specifications with other projectors with similar prices. Several comparable projectors are available currently, and I chose this one because of good experience with its previous model (the X1) and slightly better specs.

Correction...
Don't pay attention to the review suggesting that the bulbs are a hassle. This IS a good product, and I think I know what happened with his. The first bulb probably had a problem, and that's why Toshiba replaced it at no cost. But if he installed the next bulb incorrectly, the lifespan is shortened exponentially, so be sure to do it right. And as for the price of the bulbs, they ARE expensive, but he's exaggerating just a bit. I just bought one on the Internet a week ago for $260 (tax free) and it's already here. As for me, I use my projector extensively, probably 5-7 hours a day. It lasted about a year and a half for me, which is more than I thought it would. All in all, this is much better than a big screen t.v., and cheaper...Good buy.

Not Worth The Bulb Hassle
Okay, digital projection on a budget? I bought this item a few years back. The first $400.00+ bulb blew out in less than 300 hours. I contacted Toshiba and they replaced it, since it didn't get anywhere near the 2,000 hour "lifespan" they claim. The next bulb blew out at 460 hours. I called again. Nothing. No replacement. No service. I was on the phone with them for 4.5 hours and all I could get was 2 promises to "get a call back from one of our supervisors". None of my messages were ever returned. No one ever "called back". No replacement, or offer to replace, or even service sans the attitude. If the bulbs lasted 1400 hours, or even 1,000, I wouldn't be nearly as upset about this hunk'o'junk, but at $400.00+ per bulb, I'm paying an extra $60 dollars for every hour I watch it! Also, I've been typing $400.00+, because the bulb cost has risen every time I've checked into it. The current SRP is $453.00 for one bulb. If you get over 400 hours on a bulb, you're lucky! Avoid this unit, and after my experiences with their "customer service"-less calls, avoid this company's products like the plauge.

Best Video Projector Under 10k
The VPL-HS51 is the best video projector on the market for less than 10k.Far better than any DLP projector, since their is NO rainbow effect and once you see the DLP rainbow you will see this in every show.
Amazing TV, trick to help maintain it
We received this TV as a wedding gift for use in our 1 bedroom.After buying the screen (which takes up one whole wall) and a great sound system, we have the PERFECT home theater system for a young couple who entertains and enjoys movies.The picture quality is unbelievable (especially with HDMI)...to the point where we don't feel that impressed when we go to the theater to see movies.The TV easily adjusts to light differences and doesn't require total darkness to look fabulous:a sunny afternoon with the blinds drawn doesn't hurt the picture much, and that's saying a lot for a projector in this price range.We've now had it for a year and are in love with it.
Horrible Support - Do not buy.
I have to say the same thing as the last review. I purchased the Sony projector 4 months ago. The bulb is only under warantee for 3 months. The first CS person told me it was covered and to take it in to a depot. Then I was told it wasn't covered by the depot but that I could purchase it for $450 plus the labour of $150 to install a bulb that can't take them more then 5 minutes.

I had to buy a new one, and I chose another brand (Logitech) this time.
Do not buy
Mouse movement is extremely slow. It literally takes 10 (!) seconds to get from one side of the screen to another (800x600). I just got it from OfficeDepot [...].
Yes - worst product ever...
I wish I read the reviews before I bought this thing, unfortunately.Extremely user unfriendly to connect and disconnects itself often; kills batteries even in sleep mode.
