First time/10 minutes into a presentation, the projector's lamp exploded, showering hot shards of broken glass in a wide area around the machine. Pieces dented the reflective Fresnel lens/stage below. Claims to have a safety thermal cut-off switch.

Great Quick way to set up a hometheater
I got this projector just to see what it was like. I was actually planning on buying a large screen LCD or Plasma but

Moviemate 25 projector lives up to all the acolades in the reviews that I read before buying (both on this site and in tech websites).Not surprisingly, it is best used in very dark rooms.Picture is exceptional.Very easy to set up.My only reservation was that the screen was not included though the website indicates it is part of the package.Had to be purchased separately.Seller was very reasonable in addressing that issue.

A Great Start for a Home Theater System
This package has it all and it is a great system for beginners. I have a small living room and I did not want to move furniture around or clear a wall.You don't need to rearrange a thing when using this system.Just pull up the screen, plug in your projector and subwoofer and you are ready to go.The 80 inch screen is a great addition in this package.When you are done, you can hide the screen under a bed and hide the projector away in a closet.There are some negatives as it is not HDDVD compatible, and it does not accept component inputs.But most people will simply use it to watch regular dvds or hook up one's own video game system. Stunning performance in micro-sized package.
When I bought this I had no idea how good it is, especially when I compare it to other models out there now.DLP, auto-imaging, Carl-Zeis lens, mouse-remote for USB presentations, and the list goes on with it's remarkable resolution and quality build.Sometimes you buy something and have buyer's regret, but not with this one.Oh boy, when I look around and compare with what's around locally, I can't believe how much I got in this tiny package.Since I move around a lot, this is my TV to have.I use it for PS2, Web surfing, and DVD & Dvr watching.I simply project with a screen, yep you heard it, directly on the wall, making a 20ft+ sized super wall of video.It's so large with such great detail thanks to the resolution, that I often have 1 window surfing the web, while in the adjacent window my wife and I recline watching our DVR recordings together.Much better than slouching over my laptop, you bet!

The Cadillac of Projectors!!
I have just ordered one of these from Amazon the night before I wrote this review, so I haven't received it yet. But just looking at the description make me drool in anticipation!

Not For Beginners!
My company purchased this projector to be able to give PowerPoint presentations without having to connect to a PC or Laptop.This projector will work for that, but it isn't a projector for beginners.Multiple calls to Epson Tech Support were less than useless, they actually gave us really bad advice.Finally we got it up and running. The projector doesn't support all the animation options in PowerPoint but it does support the basic ones, like wipe, blinds, fly in, etc.Once we got the hang of the projector and we loaded all the software, ran the conversion and saved all to a memory stick, it ran fine and the display is very good.But unless you are a dedicated techy, my advice is find a simpler projector or connect a laptop. ... Great projector...but
- The picture is stunning!
Excellent image
I just bought this projector after reading a review from projectcentral.com.I also just got a DirecTV HD DVR.I am projecting onto a 137" Dalite permawall screen in a light controlled room.The image quality with recent HD material is stunning.When looking at bright daylight images it looks like a window, with amazing detail.I am replacing an Infocus X1.I also had a Sanyo Z4 for about two weeks.The image from the Sanyo was too harsh because of the LCD (also I was sitting 1x the distance from the screen which should really be 2x for LCD's and 1.5x for DLP's). ...
