5-0 out of 5 stars best prints I have ever seen
Easy install, no need to install any overbloated software. Great printouts on glossy and matt photo paper. Read the Manual on solving color managment problems if you use Photoshop CS2 so that what you see on the monitor is what you get. If you use Photoshop Elements it has a setting just for the epson R1800. Prints beautifull lables on TDK matt white DVD's with the included software. you can use nero's label making software but you must set the paper type to (epson stylus photo R800 A4) so that it is centered on the disk. All in all the best wide format photo printer I have seen .

2-0 out of 5 stars Mac Users Beware!
This printer does not print tiled documents from either Indesign or Illustrator. It also is very hard to set the page set up for the printer because the driver written for this printer conflicts with the settings in the print dialog box of the software. I have seen this happen in both Illustrator and Indesign. Very frustrating. I called Epson about this, they told me to call Adobe who told me to call Epson. I'm really sorry I remained loyal to Epson and didn't opt for the Canon.

5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing printer for photos or art!
I first saw this printer in action when I saw someone turn a digital photo into a digital painting using Corel Painter (seeing the results from that software product, Painter, is what made me start looking at Corel software products for photos) and then printed it out on matte paper. Wow!!! Very impressive! The water color paints were amazing and the colors printed out were so vibrant and realistic, that I had to get this Epson Photo R1800 printer.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic
I am an amateur photograper at best (new to digital cameras). My photo composition is a little bit better than a snap and shoot type person.I have a desire to get better.I have two types of digital software for processing digital pictures but lacked a good printer.I purchased the Photosmart 8750 from Amazon and when I got it, I hooked it up and loaded the software onto my computer without any hassles and prepared for my very first photo.I was bowled over with the professional looking print that came out.I have since learned some new color management techniques on this printer and that same photograph now looks like a contest winner.Don't even think twice about this printer. It is fantastic. This amateur now looks like a PRO.

5-0 out of 5 stars great printer but HP is not up front as usual
I've been using this as a commercial printer now for about 3 months doing prototype and photo prints in 13x19 and 8.5x11 formats on moab paper for final prints and hp paper for proofs (we use hp paper as low cost scrap due to its low detail).
5-0 out of 5 stars HP has a winner
The 8750 was easy to set up, the software loaded easily and the first test page was perfect. The color management works very well. The printer produces fine detail, wonderful colors, and the best black and white inkjet prints I have ever seen, especialy on fine art papers. The printer is slower than some of its compeiters and uses more ink, but the color saturation is higher. It dose have oneglitch, every time I turn on my computer it prints 3 pages, each with one line showing the USB ports. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent photo quality prints
This printer prints out amazing true color prints that are sharp and photo quality. It however take me some time to get to this point. If you are serious about making color prints invest in good monitor calibration software without it you're going to be at the whims of an uncalibrated monitor which makes it virtually impossible to match with the output.(I bought Spyder2 for $150).The printer does take some maintenance, including either regular printing or head cleaning. The prints are not cheap.Using premium Epson paper and inks, results in beautiful prints, but if you're planning on knocking off some 4X6 family photos, I would not recommend this printer.I use the printer mainly for 11 X 17 and 13 X 19 enlargements.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great but quirky large-format linux printer
I've had my Epson 1280 for over two years now and consider it money well spent. I run exclusively on Linux (currently Gentoo) and the Linux support for this printer (using CUPS) is superb. All modes, resolutions, etc. are supported. I use this printer a lot for engineering work printing B-size (tabloid) drawings and it works great for that.
4-0 out of 5 stars Still worth the value compared to what you get from Kinko's
I decided to buy a 1270 at the time I was still an Art student. As a poor art student, buying a good printer as early as possible is strongly recommanded. Epson 1270 was an hot topic at that time while I was still in school. So I paid several hundred bucks to get this nice printer then I would print at home anytime I wanted. I saved money and time. I didn't need to go to Kinko's anymore. I never liked to go there. The only time I would get help and got it printed correctly was be there at 2am in the morning while I was the only customer in Kinko's.

2-0 out of 5 stars Consumer only printer

4-0 out of 5 stars Good printer, a little complicated to set up print jobs
Most of the complaints here seem related to not understanding the plethora of settings available for this printer. Maybe there are too many options for some users, but on the other hand, you can do a lot of fine tuning before printing--in terms of color values, size, and so forth. For example, I was transferring files composed to the default printer on another computer and was losing type on page edges when printed on the 9800. When I discovered the option to "emulate Laserjet margins," the problem was solved. It is not perfect, but so far I have printed on a variety of media (in all sizes and weights), and my only major complaint is the amount of ink it consumes. But that's a problem with all inkjets. I own five printers, and three of them are HP, one is a Canon photo printer, and one is the Epson Stylus I bought to print CDs. The HPs produce the best results, especially if one reads the manuals.

2-0 out of 5 stars Unpredictable...
I'm a software programmer. Bought this one for a customer to print a3-sized, duplex customs documents. It works, but can be unpredictable. In the same document, the minimum margins where completely different, forcing me to resize the report (irretating). If you want to manually print duplex, you have to make very sure the paper is reloaded properly, because it will eat of the default tray, ruining your duplex print (irretating again). The last years I have been being Canon-printers. Very good - but the Canon i9900 was sold out on our little island where we live, so I moved to HP. Don't if you can avoid it. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars No trouble and no clogs
I have owned this printer for two years and both used it hard at times and left it unused for several weeks at a time.I have had no trouble whatsoever with it.In fact I believe it to be the best Epson I have ever owned. You have to wonder if the folks that have had trouble with it are using generic ink, something we have not done.

1-0 out of 5 stars Constant clog
You will be constanly cleaning print heads and using up all your ink not printing. The cost of ink combined with the cost to keep the printer running smoothly is a fortune. Online they will tell you sometimes waiting a day after cleaning will help but frankly when I go to print, I need to print. Basically you need to constantly print on this to keep from wasting your ink on cleanings but instead you'll be wasting your ink at the same rate on frivulous printings.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent professional printer
We've been using our printer for 2 yrs now w/o any issues. Its survived 3 house moves and extended 105F heat. No clogging, no breakdowns. The paper roll attachment is particularly clever and saves lots of money on paper. But this is a professional printer for serious photographers. Its not for printing the occasional photo emailed from the grandkids. Its big and a little intimidating. As with any serious photographic work, you'll benefit from using Photoshop with a professional color calibration utility. We use Monaco and it works very well. Always an exact color match. ... 2-0 out of 5 stars Design Jet in name only
I bought this printer a few years ago, it has been to the repair shop no less than 3 times. I had the warranty and HP did a good job with shipping me printers (so I give it 2 stars), but alas it quit again the other day and no more warranty, so no more printer. Images fade, it doesn't print quite photographically, and it requires a degree to figure out some of the functions. Not to mention it can bleed ink all over on the best setting. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Epson 3000 great for printing engineering logs
This printer is the absolute best available for one thing:printing continuous feed logs with tractor feed paper. In fact, the only two decent printers for doing inkjet printing on continuous feed paper are the Epson Stylus Color 1520 and 3000.
5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent quality printer
I am a graphic designer, and require excellent quality in color printing. The Epson 3000 is very easy to color balance, and produces outstanding results with premium glossy paper.Color photographs printed on the Epson 3000 are realistic and accurate. This printer is easy to use and is very cost efficient. The INK cartidges are easy to refill, and have saved me thousands of dollars in INK.This printer will treat you good, if you treat it good.Paper loading works fine if the directions are followed as supplied from the manufacturer.I would classify this printer as a professional printer, a novice in printing might have problems with it.For the money, this printer is outstanding.

1-0 out of 5 stars BUYER BEWARE!
This printer is terrible. I am a graphic designer. I've had the printer for about 3 years. I have hated it since I got it. Hate isn't the word... Abhor, is more like it.

3-0 out of 5 stars Problems with colour
I have found the 9100 to be a fine printer for the digital photographer enthusiast and especially useful for turning our posters for a local theatre group.
3-0 out of 5 stars Canon S9000 Printer review.
The canon S9000 printer is a good printer for colour work provided the results are not for permanent storage. Fading is evident after a few months. Some banding and missing lnes appear on standard printing mode. The choice of paper and ink is crucial to consistency. I could not obtain sellable prints with it. The printer can stop printing halfway and spit out an unfinished job. The lack of error codes in the software or an LCD on the printer makes it frustrating when the error light blinks and the printer refuses to print. The cleaning eventually fills the cleaning sponge that needs to be sent to Canon for replacement (not cheap). The Canon S9000 does not support textured papers or CD/DVD direct printing, but this is now an old printer for this feature. The plus of this printer is the speed. Printing photographs or text documents is lighting fast and very good. Recommended for quick proofing of photos (provided the right profile is used) and for text with graphics.
1-0 out of 5 stars Bad Support
I bought one of these units almost two years ago. It prints good looking pictures. It is very convenient to replace only one emply color. etc.

4-0 out of 5 stars You can print on anything!
I purchased this printer while I was still in college (in 2001) and it saved me a ton of money on large-format printing costs. Since then, I have used it as a freelancer for various design projects and it has always produced wonderful prints. I'm able to use papers of all sizes and also print on other various medias (such as watercolor paper and even stiff fabrics). Every once-in-a-while, the heads tend to clog, but I've usually been able to fix that. That's common for all ink jets, especially when printing in large quantities. It's been about 5 years and I'm considering buying another SP1280 rather than upgrading to the newer model.

3-0 out of 5 stars Good and Bad
The good:
5-0 out of 5 stars ONE OF THE BEST EPSON PRINTERS EVER MADE
I have owned my Epson Stylus 1280 for over a year and a half now and have never once experienced any type of problem with this unit what so ever! I only use aftermarket Abacus Ink and have yet to have a glogged printhead issue. I use this printer to print images taken from my Olympus C 8080 widezoom at 8 megs.
