sales team loves them
I purchased 4 refurbished bjc-80 printers for our sales force. They love the ability to go onsite and print a contract while in front of the customer. When used with ink jet paper the output is great. Our reps are using these printers with the infrared port on their compaq laptops, which works great. Only problem is the infrared communications is a little slower than a printer cable, so it seems to slow the prining down 10 or 15%... all in all a excellent value that i recommend to anyone who needs a portable printer with excellent output and great portability.

Nice but some shortcomings
It overheats if asked to do more than 5 prints in a row.Once cooled (45sec.), it will continue, but heat problem & delays get worse.Considered a "normal" condition in the manual!Like a Windows crash is a "feature"???

A Digital Darkroom in the Field
Awesome is a horribly overused word, but this little puppy earns major kudos! It's terrbily intuitive, easy to use, runs on a honking big NIMH battery (or AC) and -- yes -- produces dye-sub prints that are rich and gorgeous and tough-to-tell from conventionally processed ones. If the big chasm preventing digital photography from going mainstream has been the lack of physical prints that you can stick in an envelope and mail to the relatives (or carry around in your pocket), the P-200 more than bridges that gap. It Does the Job
I travel frequently to remote locations and I sometimes find myself in a situation where I could use a portable printer with my notebook computer (Toshiba Satellite/Windows 98SE). Now and then I need a hard copy of a Word document, or digital photo print of a piece of engineering equipment, when I have no easy access to a desktop computer/printer. I often looked at portable printers in the shops but because of the price [price] and the inconvenience of carrying one around (especially if it needs an AC adapter), I never seriously considered buying one. However, a few weeks ago, I saw an MP21 on sale for [price]at an [company name], so I bought it. MP21C Portable Printer
In one word the printer is " [bad]", I would not touch another Brother Printer again- having said that- when I tried to get it serviced I was totally disapointed with there approach. In short I got no Technical support at all with the printer being returned in the same condition that it was sent in. My advise is forget Brother Printers because if you have a problem then you are on your own.

does not work with win xp
If you have a newer computer, the MP-21c will not work with Win XP.The drivers supplied by Brother will only support parallel printing, even though the printer does not have a parallel port. This forces you to buy a...cable and AC adapter from Brother, negating the convenient one-cable setup via the PCMCIA card.Read more
