1-0 out of 5 stars paper jams still an issue in 2004 models
Just like everyone else, I was a fan of the DeskJet 450 until the paper feed problems started. My printer is dated from June of 2004, so as of two years ago, the design flaw had not been fixed. I can't even begin to count all the time I've wasted trying to get a single sheet of paper to print!!

2-0 out of 5 stars Very Frustrated!
It's just like everyone else has said. This printer worked great for about a year of limited use and then the paper jams started. It would not take card stock or other heavy weighed papers.I have to constantly push the paper in to get it to feed. I absolutely loved this printer at first and thought of getting another one just like it but after seeing these reviews--no way!!!

1-0 out of 5 stars Great! But then there are the paper jams.
This printer worked great for about a year. Then the paper started jamming and it is now completely useless. I think it's somewhere in my basement. Don't waste your money on this one. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Canon BJC-50
Excellent printer...everything that I thought it would be . Works wells all the time. Works wells with Windows XP and downloaded driver from Canon site.

1-0 out of 5 stars Beware
I purchased the Canon BJC-50 in August of 1998. It has take at least three hours to three days of effort to get it to work for each time that I have occasionally used it. I have used it mainly for color printing, and also for scanning with the optional scanning cartridge. It is particularly troublesome when switching from scan to print functions. It is quite noisy. I can not depend on it to function when I need it. It usually works eventually, but only after many trial and error attempts. Email technical support usually does not provide a quick solution. There have been no quick solutions. There have only been time consuming, painstaking encounters with this machine.

5-0 out of 5 stars Infrared works well with Windows ME
Even though it said that the infrared wireless printing only works with Windows 95, I found that it worked just as well with Windows ME installed in my laptop.Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Very disappointing and not sturdy at all
I purchased the Canon I80 printer as I wanted a small portable unit for training and conference events. The unit has broken down multiple times, the heads dry out and get clogged all the time and every time I turn around something else goes wrong...I purchased the unit for $250 and have spent as much keeping it going and only used it 12 times. It has now failed again and they want another $240 to fix it.Really a waste of money.I would not buy this product again.

1-0 out of 5 stars Printer Heads Dry Out
I agree wholeheartedly with Mark Page-Botelho's review. This printer is not for regular use.I had the same problem with the black print head drying out.The available maintenence functions have not been helpful, and the Canon service reps advice similarly has lead to a lot of wasted time and frustration, along with a lot of wasted ink and paper from doing cleaning and testing repeatedly.

1-0 out of 5 stars Canon i80 Is it worth it?
We've used this printer a little over one year and loved it. Unfortunately, now it is plagued with problems. First of all the print head is extremely sensitive to drying out and is very difficult to impossible to clean using the printer's clean function or doing it manually. Canon offers a replacement head for $65. Next the ink cleaning reservoir with normal use will fill up in about a year. To replace it will cost $120 and is only available through Canon. The print does travel well which is its intended use, but for an everyday printer you might want to look elsewhere. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Not Bad, Works Fine for Basic Prints
I don't have high expectations for this type of printer, one that you can put a flash card in and print the photo without a computer. Most often, photos will need some sort of tweaking, of white balance, of color, of something. This little printer does fine with the basics. It has some editing capabilties, not as many as I'd like, but for the price, it's just fine. I wanted the printer to use at some of our fundraising events, to take pictures of people with their dogs, print out a 4x6, give them the print, and go on to the next on-- This will work fine for that, and allow us to run this with only one person, if necessary, since the computer isn't involved. Battery is a huge plus.
1-0 out of 5 stars Does not work out of the box
I am an IT professional (BSIT) and I bought this product because it is rated #1 by Consumer Reports and I own several HP printers that I really enjoy. However, I had the same experience as several other reviewers of this product. This printer simply does not work out of the box. After trying for 1 day I gave up and called HP customer service and they diagnosed the problem as a defective chip in the printer. They wanted to replace the printer with a refurbished one; I refused and threatened to return it back to Amazon. I was placed on hold and then told that I would receive a firmware upgrade via FedEx overnight. If this upgrade does not work I will be forced to return the printer to Amazon.

Offering you portable printing capabilities, the SiPix A6 Pocket Palm Printer connects easily to either PCs or Palm Pilots. While it may not be as fast as your in-office printer, this little gem weighs in at less than 1 pound and churns out documents at 2 ppm with a decent 400 dpi resolution. Overall dimensions are scarcely larger than some wallets (5.8 by 4.25 inches), and the thickness is less than 1 inch. Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars SiPix A6 Portable Printer
This thermal paper uses small rolls to print on - requiring no ink. It's small, lightweight (except with 4 "AA" batteries) and can receive data via its IrDA port OR serial connection. This did not work with my Jornada 680e but did with a iPad 19xx so it may not work with older PDAs (though, it was designed to work with Palms). You *can* use it with a desktop or laptop but you simply cannot install the drivers and "voila!" The properties of the connection between the printer and computer must be manually modified for it to work properly - but when you get it to work, it's perfect. I use it to print receipts and it is absolutely fantastic. I suppose the only "downside" to it is that paper for it is pretty expensive...the starter rolls aren't going to be enough to do much with so plan on looking for CUT or ROLL (preferably) cheap.

1-0 out of 5 stars NO DRIVERS
I was very disapointed by the fact that this printer is not compatible with any palm OS 5 enhanced devices (such as the Zire series, or tungsten sreies) Bummer. So if you have an older handheld with below 3.0 OS or if you have higher than 3.5 it simply won't work! I hope this information helps you.4-0 out of 5 stars SiPix A6 & Dell Axim X5
On impulse I bought the Sipix A6 printer, brand new,(for a mere 19 bucks!) after checking it's compatibility with my invoicing software -Lowfat Invoice. However, I DID NOT check whether there were any known issues with the Dell Axim X5 and I was unaware of the wonderful people at AXIMSITE.COM. Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Way too much money for what it does.
Does a fair job printing documents from Palm Docs to Go, if you print from inside Docs to Go.Also I found I needed PrintBoy or some other Palm application to use this printer at all.The Bluetooth feature is an improvement over the earlier IR-only model, and I don't mind that it only uses A7 size thermal paper. But the Palm OS itself doesn't support printing Docs to Go fonts, so what you see on your Palm device is not what you get from the printer. Also no graphics printing, but again, that's a Palm OS problem.Other than that, it's a pretty amazing little device, but not worth half of what it costs. ... It's the coolest party toy since the Polaroid: the new Canon CP-200 Photo Printer. Connect it directly to your Powershot-series Canon or other PictBridge-supporting digital camera, and you'll be printing snapshots and stickers faster than you can say "cheese." 4-0 out of 5 stars Go to Canon USA's Website for Drivers!
This is a good quality printer with 2 major restrictions.First, the printer, printer paper & cartridge packs, and additional paper trays for labels and such are expensive.Second, the largest it prints is 4"x6".
5-0 out of 5 stars Spectacular results
For me (Windows XP Home edition), everything worked perfectly out of the box.Within 15 min of opening the box, I had pictures that easily beat the 1 hour photo machines in both detail and color.(I have a 6mp DSLR.)I used an SD card reader to transfer files from the camera to the computer, then used the Microsoft print wizard in MS Photo Manager to quickly size and send the print. This is a great tool to have for getting beautiful snapshots quickly. It is a little pricey as noted in earlier reviews because special paper and dye-sub materials are required but the quality easily beats my Epson C84 IJ and Lexmark Z805 IJ.I will probably use one of the on-line services for bulk printing because they are much cheaper but I always have the capability for something right away when I want it.

4-0 out of 5 stars It can be fast.
I used this printer with my Digital Rebel. It fed the paper almost immediately and started the printing process.Photos were done quickly.I find it valuable when visiting friends and family.I am able to leave photographic memories immediately. As for the price of photos, I don't print every photo that I take, only ones that I can't wait to print before I get home on my computer. This is definitely a nice little tool that can even be put in your camera bag.Don't expect to find cheaper replacement ribbons on the third party printer cartridge sites. ... Read more

Canon's CP-10 is a dye-sublimation card printer that connects directly to Canon's supported line of digital cameras: Digital IXUS 300 or PowerShot A10, A20, S110, or S300 digital camera. 3-0 out of 5 stars Novelty
Before purchasing this item, be sure you know what you're getting (I was unfortunately hasty). It's cute and tiny, to be sure, but so are its photos--the size of a credit card. And they're not cheap. The Canon CP-100 is slightly larger but for the extra "O" you're getting newer technology and a printer that offers photos of four different sizes.

1-0 out of 5 stars Canon Abandons Its Customers
I bought the larger Canon CD-300 printer less than a year ago for $400. Now, Canon says they will not create an XP driver for it. That is an extremely poor customer server.Anyone making PC-compatible hardware has to be prepared to support it for a reasonable period after they stop selling it. Canon promotes their printers as Microsoft Windows compatible, but the CD-300 doesn't run on the only version of Windows that Microsoft is selling! That is deceptive. I own a Canon digital SLR and digital SureShot. Because of this clear example of how little they care about their customers, they are the last Canon products I will purchase. Today, instead of buying photo paper for my defunct Canon CD-300, I bought the Sony DPP-SV77. It's a great little printer with a pop-up display for much less than the Canon... and Sony has great customer service!

5-0 out of 5 stars A GREAT COMPACT PRINTER

4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent
I agree with all the reviews that say good things about this printer. For this printer to do its magic you really do need to have taken a snap that is well exposed in the first place.I have been amazed at some of the quality photographs produced. This printer does an amazing job on skin-tones.I have been disappointed with some land-scape shots, but they were realistic.I need to hone my photography skills more, perhaps. There is one amazing feature this printer has and no review, I have read yet, mentioned it i.e. the paper-tray doubles as a photo-paper holder (by folding over the flap) which stores your photo-paper and protects it from dust when it is not being used.Dust is the big enemy of photo-printing.
2-0 out of 5 stars Paper Doesn't Fit Printer!!!
Canon suggests you buy 4x6 Paper to fit the printer. They don't give you a cartridge to use the paper with. They give you a postcard size and a Wide Size. They also only give you a ink cartridge to print 5 pictures worth. You would think with a printer that costs this much they could give you a proper cartridge, suggest the right paper to use and give you an actual ink cartridge that lasts at least 24 pictures!!

3-0 out of 5 stars am i not getting something here?
I received this printer as a gift, and was very pleased initially.... once i figured the cost per print, i wasn't sure if the convenience outweighed the cost... if you buy the 36 pack of paper and ink (you need to buy these, you can't use just regular photo printer paper) it works out to about 42 cents per... if you send yourimages to an online processor, it is anywhere from 22 to 29 cents per, and you have a guarantee that if it doesn't come out they will at least reprint it or refund your money. We were able to print out images on Christmas (nice feature, spontaneous and portable) but 2 of the 20 images printed out with a fuzzy on the photograph (which reprinted fine, but we paid for it basically).
