Editorial Review

Remember those handheld plastic label makers we all had as kids? You'd spin the wheel around and then clamp down when you got to the right letter (and you had to clamp hard to make a mark on that heavy-duty plastic strip). After you got your name out or made a message like "This is mine keep your hands off," you'd discover you spelled "keep" as "kep" and had to start over. Plus, the tape would invariably buckle and fall off wherever you stuck it.Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Text fades
I was happy with this product when I first purchased it but now I want my money back. I used the labels to put my name and contact info on photo equipment (compact flash cards, lenses, cameras) but the text faded making the labels pointless. (And on a few items the labels started coming off) It's probably fine for other uses but the labels don't last on things that are in the elements and being handled on a regular basis. I've used a more expensive labelmaker in the past and haven't had a problem with the labels fading or coming off (and they looked nicer too). This is a classic "you get what you pay for" situation.

5-0 out of 5 stars Nifty Little Gadget
This is a great label maker for its $19 price tag.I've seen this exact model selling for as much as $49, so this really is an excellent deal.Certainly not worth $49, but definitely worth $19.
5-0 out of 5 stars Fabulous Labelmaker!
The Dymo LetraTag is everything a labelmaker should be.It's easy to use, versatile, and prints labels that are easy to read and stay stuck.Since I got it a few months ago, I've been labeling everything that isn't nailed down. :-)I've used it to make labels for file folders, decorative storage boxes, and shelves.

2-0 out of 5 stars No optical viewfinder; stay away
No optical viewfinder.I had trouble using the LCD to compose in outdoor shots.Washed out so badly in bright sunlight I was guessing what I was filming.Critical oversight in a camera this expensive. Then again, none of the HD camcorders from Sony or JVC seem to have an optical viewfinder.Wonder why?

3-0 out of 5 stars Every thing is good except low light performance
I agree with the previous reviewer. The low light performance of this camera is pretty bad. Deeps reds are more like deep pinks...but other colors are quite natural, though a bit flat.
2-0 out of 5 stars Nice idea, Poor Low Light Performance
Despite what the other reviewer say the low light performance of this camera is very poor. All the colors are washed out, and inaccurate!Red show up as some kind of orange, when shooting indoor.

5-0 out of 5 stars Easy to integrate... but check compatibility.
Bought this to add a 4th handset to my KX-TG5633. Initially, after reading the technical specs for the 5633 at the Panasonic website, I wasn't certain that the 560 would work with my system; the Pana website says "Multi Handset Compatability: up to 3 handsets". "Did the 3 include the base handset too," I wondered? Yet the amazon info for the 5633 suggested that it could take 4 handsets. After digging out and consulting the 5633's manual, I was satisfied that I could take a 4th handset and ordered.
5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent, clear sound

2-0 out of 5 stars Not ready for prime time
In a fast moving market, Linksys released this product without all the testing that Linksys is generally known for. I've used many Linksys products before and looked forward to using this one. But this one barely works.
5-0 out of 5 stars Great phone - good sound quality
ok, so I've been using skype for a while now but through a headset. I recently bought a CIT200 and couldn't be happier. Except for the fact that the base has to be connected to a PC, this is pretty much a full functional phone.
3-0 out of 5 stars A good idea
So far, so....mediocre.

5-0 out of 5 stars Nice scanner
I researched this scanner in August at Canon's website, and all of the info on it sounded very appealing to me, and I bought one the first week they came out in September. I've had two Visioneer scanners and have used someone else's Visioneer's 7300 USB scanner on occasion and I had been looking into possibly buying one of those instead, and I was a little apprehensive about buying any other brand, but the CanoScan LiDE70 way beats them hands down in regard to clarity and quality of the scan, and I'm glad I bought one over the Visioneer 7300 USB, as this CanoScan LiDE70 is far superior, IMO.
5-0 out of 5 stars One Great Scanner
I spotted this model on the Canon website before it was released.I ordered it from Amazon as soon as it hit the shelves. This scanner is small, and USB powered helping me limit the ammount of wires around my desk. The resolution is phenomenal and the software is more than user friendly.I get great results using it through Adobe Photoshop CS2.The OmniPage software that comes with it is a great help scanning my college books and converting them into text I can use in emails or reports.Sure there are other, cheaper scanners with less than stellar abilities, but at that price you can buy a scanner that won't be outdated within the years to come. ... Ideal for small offices or busy roommates, the GE 29869GE2 is a completely digital answering system containing four mailboxes. 3-0 out of 5 stars In search of an acceptable answering machine.
About a year ago I decided that it was time to retire my old Lucent A560 (later changed to a model 1715) answering machine I had on one phone line and a Code-A-Phone tape-type answerer on a second line.Having had very good luck with my Lucent solid-state unit with respect to reliability and absolutely excellent message & record voice quality, I purchased two AT&T 1738 replacements which had nearly the same form factor as the A560.Boy, was I wrong!
4-0 out of 5 stars Best answerer I've had
Works precisely as advertised.None of the complaints in previous reviews hold for my experience. Specifically, battery backup works and sound quality of messages is excellent. Only negative: too many words spoken by the machine and they sometimes seem to overlap.

4-0 out of 5 stars At last, a decent answering machine
Having gone through two crappy digital answering machines (the last one's speaker grew so weak that I had to put my ear up to it when replaying my messages), I scoured the `net looking for just a basic, reliable machine that actually worked and didn't peter out in a year. This one was about the only one that got consistently good reviews. And the price ($31 delivered) on Amazon was, at the time, the best deal I could find (kudos on that free shipping deal, Amazon!).Anyway, I've had it a month and it works fine.I'd give it five stars but my "announcement voice" sounds a bit "digitally warped."I can live with that. But what with all the other technological progress made in other spheres (I've got Dolby 6.1 surround-sound in my upstairs movie theater, for example), I've have thought that this sector of the home electronics industry would at least be able to match the voice quality that I enjoyed for 13 years on my old tape-driven answering machine.Otherwise, this machine's been excellent thus far. I also give 5 stars to Amazon for price, for listing candid reviews about its products, and for its fast (and free!) delivery on most everything I buy from it. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Very good and very versatile cordless phone
I recently purchased this versatile cordless phone system and am very pleased with it. All of the features are convenient and work well and the voice quality is very good. The four handsets may at first seem excessive, but actually they provide convenient access to a phone no matter where one is in one's house. For example, I now have enough handsets to add them to the kitchen and main bathroom, which can be quite handy at times. Also convenient is the fact that only the main unit requires a phone outlet -- the three extension units requires only power outlets for their chargers. Another feature I like is that each handset can store up to 50 names and phone numbers. And, once programmed in one handset, entries can easily be tranferred to the other handsets if desired. Another convenient feature is that the system can be used as an intercom, with each handset capable of calling each of the other handsets. This is the most complete and most convenient phone system I've ever had and I like the quality and reliability of Panasonic products. If you want the features of this versatile phone system with fewer handsets please consider model KX-TG5633 which has two extension units or KX-TG5632 which has only one extension unit. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars An excellent printer, look no further!
I just purchased this printer last night and was stunned at the image quality. Granted, I shoot with a Canon Digital Rebel XTi which produces amazing pictures at 10 megapixels, but this printer lives up to those great shots and prints brilliant pictures. I am surprised at the previous reviewer's comment about not being as good as Costco printing. I've also doneall my printing there and I would say this is as good, if not better than Costco. This could be due to using high quality Canon paper, but looking at some of these shots, I can't honestly imagine them getting any better. I know Canon has a new 9500 printer coming out in the spring that will do up to 13 inch wide paper, but I couldn't wait and going to Costco all the time was getting annoying, as convinient as it really is. I am so glad I spent what I consider to be a very reasonable amount of money (130 dollars) on this printer, now I'll only be going to Costco for the 12x18's. The printer is VERY easy to use. I printed right off the Compact Flash card using the printer's on-board screen and did plenty of cropping and trimming to make the shots perfect and centered. The instructions are very clear and easy to follow. I was printing perfectly within 15 minutes of opening the box. The screen and menus make it so easy and convinient, I haven't even needed to use the computer to print yet. I would highly recomend this printer to anyone who wants stunning prints up to 8.5x11, you will not be dissapointed, it's truly a top-notch printer!

2-0 out of 5 stars Red color problem
The photo output of this printer is really quite good except for one GLARING problem - the overwhelming redness of flesh tones.A lot of pictures of the baby are coming out like he's scalded or badly sunburned. This leads to a tremendous waste of paper and ink, not to mention effort in trying to adjust for this problem.Even a call to Canon TS didn't solve anything.Apparently, I'm not the only one with this problem.I would love to return this printer if I could...Too bad I stocked up on a bunch of Canon paper already.Any suggestions for a fix (besides the usual calibration, red tone slider, etc.)?I would love to try the MP series, but this experience has really soured me on Canon printers (I love their digital cameras though - bought 3 within the last year).
5-0 out of 5 stars CAN'T GET ANY BETTER THEN THIS!!!!!!!!!!
I love it...The print quality is amazing looking. Im very pleased with the print plus color quality of pictures. If you're buying a printer for the first time i would highly recommend a canon but also this one because you will love it! I have alse compared prints from ordering online from a store to my new Canon PIXMA iP6600D and of course the pictures i have printed at home are even much more better looking, ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Great value - dump your inkjet and save money per page
Went out and got one of these from Staples (an Amazon partner ahem) on special for ninety nine bucks. For that, it's a great deal. I use it on my computer running Ubuntu Linux (Dapper Drake 6.02) and it works great. Had to figure out how to use foo2zjs (foo2zjs dot rkkda dot com has the perfect workable answer to installation...I donated a few dollars for the help), but once you follow the instructions and load that all-important firmware, you are in business, even allowing you to set the printer to toner-saver mode, etc.
1-0 out of 5 stars Horrible service when the product doesn't work
I must have got a lemon, because all the googling in the world doesn't help me with my problem. My printer goes to sleep mode and never wakes up, even after a cold restart (I'm using WinXP Pro SP2).Print jobs live indefinitely in the spooler and half the time need to be removed by restarting the spooler service. No one else seems to have the problem. However in debugging the issue, I've had to go through 4 online chat sessions with HP, totalling almost 6 hours, each session being less useful than the previous.I've tried different USB cables, different hubs, different ports, different drivers, and different computers.I've tried printing directly, bypassing the spooler, and various print processor options. All at their recommendation and assurance that it would fix the problem (they must have scripted responses they copy/paste into the chat because all the English and grammar is consistently bad).
5-0 out of 5 stars Outstanding value printer!
Bought this model today. Light, compact and blazing fast, with razorsharp text/images and dense opaque blacks. I got it to print my black line artwork illustrations and occasional text. I compared it to the comparably priced Brother models, and chose the HP for one reason; the drum is part of the toner cartridge versus the Brother, which requires their separate drum part replaced after 10,000 prints. The Brother drum is pricey, costing more than the printer. So I went with the HP with its 10 dollar higher cartridge, but no prospect of expensive drum replacement.

This is a great home phone system. It has all the bells and whistles. You can input your own color wallpaper display, name each phone for its location, no obtrusive antenna, great quality, I could go on and on. The voice caller ID is sometimes a little strange, but having owned the previous version of it I'm used to it. You will recognize what it is telling you in very short time. I bought this system (I'm using six phones and a camera)to replace a Meridian (Nortel) system that cost four times the price. The camera monitors the front door from a window in the dining room. 5-0 out of 5 stars Love this!
This is such a great toy, especially for a phone crazy 16 month old like mine. It has all differant modes, though right now she's only into pushing buttons and making it talk rather then what it is actually saying. I like that it is more like real handhelds then any other phone toy for her age.All I have seen are rotaries and I don't know anyone who still has a rotary phone. Great buy, though you can get it cheaper at the Wal or K.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best Toy Phone
My daughter received this phone for Christmas last year when she was 19 months old.Almost a year later, it is still one of her favorite toys.It speaks all the letters of the alphabet and numbers 1-9 in a pleasant, easy-to-understand voice and plays snippets of popular children's and classical songs. There's a simple display that shows block letters in ABC mode, numbers in 123 mode, and animated patterns when the songs are played in Music mode.
5-0 out of 5 stars Great toy, but be careful!!!!!!
Our son loves playing with this phone, but for the love of God turn it off between midnight and dawn, because if you leave it on you will hear the voices of the DEAD!!!!We learned the hard way ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A good economical choice
This is a quick, quiet machine, and so far it works for me. A relatively new model, I was told it was the replacement for the1020, but I'm not sure that's the case. In any event, it is extremely simple to set up and operate, and it doesn't take up much space. It's a big improvement over my inkjet, an HP deskjet 960c. I figure my cost is about 5 cents a page. So far, highly recommended.

5-0 out of 5 stars Highly impressed....up to now
I am impressed by the performance of this machine, for the following reasons:

Este telefono vino a completar el kit completo para el cual esta diseñado este aparato. Hay habitaciones de mi casa que no cuentan con punto telefonico y con este auxiliar funciona de maravilla. Estoy muy contento con el mismo.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best GHz Experience
I went through many GHz phones- all sounded like cans.My neighbor bought this phone & I loved it.I have encountered no sound issues (those who do may have other interference such as microwaves, wireless networks, etc.)As with my neighbor- I am happy to have bought this phone.

5-0 out of 5 stars Panasonic Expandable Cordless Phone
Original purchase of base w/handset + charger w/handset, the system was working well and wanted to expand before this model phone was outdated. Research results showed, with incentives, that Amazon was the most competitive. After placing the order, no expedited shipping specified, the product arrived much sooner that the original estimate. Thanks Amazon, we have a phone system which is user friendly and works well for our household. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars 17BII+ problem
My biggest issue with the 17BII+ is the one that apparently plagues other users as well.My first and sometimes second keystroke doesn't always register. It happens randomly and is a major problem for me. I've gone through four of these calculators and three of the four had the same problem. I kept returning them until I got one that works.
3-0 out of 5 stars Mediocre Upgrade
I bought the HP 17BII+ to replace and to upgrade my HP 19bII folding calculator. And for the money I spent (about the same, 12 years later), I'm a little disappointed. Going down from 4 lines of display, to 2 lines of display, the buttons feeling cheaper and the removal of unit conversion for measurements. But on the plus side, everything else seems to be the same and the battery cover doesn't look like it is going to fly off.

4-0 out of 5 stars Very good calculator
After my HP 17bII was knocked off a counter and killed the screen I looked to replace it.I soon found the 17bII+ and ordered from Amazon. After reading some of the reviews I was a little concerned but mine works just fine.It does not convey the same feel of quality as earlier HPs. It just seems lighter and less solid. The keys have good feel but don't match the feel of the many earlier HPs I have owned. However, it gets the job done, and may last as long as the earlier models, but if you are looking for the HP "feel" you may be disappointed. The case however is a great improvement over the 17bII. ...
