5-0 out of 5 stars Very reliable, as valued by a non-geek.
I am not a techno-geek, like many reviewers. I'm just an average middle-aged white woman who needed a reliable router. I purchased the Buffalo Turbo G AirStation to replace a D-Link that was reliable when the connection was hard-wired, but ALWAYS lost my wireless connections. When wireless became important to me I knew I had to get something else. I love my Turbo G Buffalo router! It was simple to install and has never lost a wireless connection with almost daily use for two months.

5-0 out of 5 stars Better than Many Others
This is the best router I've used hands down.
5-0 out of 5 stars Got Wireless?
THis is the second Buffalo wireless router I have purchased. One for home and now one for my business. Very easy to set up and small enough to be out of sight.

2-0 out of 5 stars not that great for the 360 or the original
the reception on the original xbox was horrible even with a network extender, it was always dropping the connection.
4-0 out of 5 stars Works as a network bridge too
Please read all of the comments and then take these points into account as well:
5-0 out of 5 stars Works Great!
I received this adapter for Christmas along with my original X-box 2 years ago.I've accendently dropped the thing like 20 times and it still works great as ever! Strong signal even 3 rooms away, pretty much plug and play, works with anything, x-box, ps2, 360 and PC.Great adapter! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Trouble free since purchase in May 2006
This router works excellent and most importantly tech. support is toll free and extremely knowledgeable.
4-0 out of 5 stars Solid router but lame printer server
Installation from my desktop is smooth and straight forward.
5-0 out of 5 stars Great router & print server, easy set-up!
If you are looking for a router with the latest in security, extremely easy set-up, and a print server for a reasonable price...then stop looking and buy this router. It does what it's supposed to do...sends a good wireless signal, allows up to 4 wired connections, and serves as a print server (works fine with my Canon i860). If you are somewhat technically challenged, and just want a wirless router that you can plug in, follow the set-up and then forget about it...this one is for you. Now I do have to discourage you from also purchasing the matching USB wireless adapter...the software that comes with the USB adapter is cumbersome and locked up my computer. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Unlike other USB Hubs
This is very well designed. It give you 4 USB Port but two on opposite sides. This is very clever becase you have plug in devices from both sides. You webcam or cell on your left and your mouse and number pad on your right. The cord that plug in from the Hub to the Computer is very sterdy yet flexible so you can not only adjust the Hub in all kind of angles, it would stay at that angle and not twist all around you wires. It also works great if you jsut want to charge you USB devices on the go. It come with a plug in AC adapter so you don't need to bring your computer along with you to charge youd devices.

5-0 out of 5 stars Product desciption could be more specific
I,ve seen complaints about the ac adapter you "must" plug in. Hey guys, try it without an outside energy source, I just hope I,m not gonna fry something but it seems to work fine just plugged into a powered USB port. I have a VERY high end system though with wattage to sprare, but no more PCI slots, Damn 7900 512 gtx graphics cards, why do 2 of em have to take up so much room. Oh well, trade offs are a bi---, but a reality and 7 extra USB slots are awfully nice.

5-0 out of 5 stars It's called the Ultra Mini for a reason!
This review pertains specifically to the Targus PAUH217U 4 Port Ultra Mini USB 2.0 Hub.

Warning! Don't make the same mistake as I!
3-0 out of 5 stars Biggest Hassle Ever
Thank goodness for Red Rhino's review and suggestions as I had no idea why this was not working. First, ignore the Linksys setup disc. It is useless. Use the web browser to access 198.168.1.250. This works whether you use DHCP or force your network card (the one in your PC) to 198.168.1.249. If you do that, make certain your subnet mask is 255.255.255.0 and gateway is 198.168.1.1. (If there are any other wireless networks in the area, block 'em out, even if it means putting the Linksys and your pc in a closet. For reasons unknown, the Linksys caused my pc to assign a weird private address to itself. Voodoo!) The biggest problem with the WGA54G is setting up WEP security. Do this before setting up the WGA54G. I chose WEP with 128 bit encryption, and open network authentication. Your choices are very limited. My passphrase was set in my Netgear Wireless router/access point menu. This gave me a 26 character Key, built out of letters A-F and numbers 0-9. Write this sucker down! Then you are ready to return to the PC where the WGA54G is connected to. Sounds like you need 2 PC's, right? Well, it helps. Anyway, open up Control panel, network connections, right click Wireless Network connections, and go to properties. Head to the Wireless Networks tab, click on View Wireless Networks, and hopefully you'll see your SSID there. Connect to it. At this point, you will get to a password menu, but if you don't, you can access it later, as long as the named network gets into preferred networks. You modify this through properties, choosing Open, WEP and typing in your 26 character Key twice. Ain't that fun. Choose key index 1. Under Authentication, disable IEEE 802.1x. Under Connection, click Connect when this network is in range.

Oh my where to begin? Bought this product a few months ago for my ps2 and eventually xbox 360. Initially I ran the setup cd, hooked up the unit to my ps2, nothing, wouldn't work. After hours fiddling with everything from the advanced setting menu of this component to the setting menues of my wireless router. I finally got it to work.

3-0 out of 5 stars Tortis vs The Hare but It works with TIVO!
If you are looking for a device that works with TIVO to connect your PC to the box, this is it. While the speed is slow like the tortis, you can make sure your transferes are completed and the hare won;t know what hit it.Tis version of the USB ethernet link is okayed but the one Tivo recommends. They say to go with the next generation which is faster but it seems to always time out because the TIVO system doesn't recognize it.So I settle for the slow Tortis and sent the speedy unreliable hare back to the store it came from!
1-0 out of 5 stars DON'T BUY THIS ADAPTOR!
As many of the other reviews here have stated, the thing falls apart very easily. Mine worked until I had to move the Tivo. The little hinged door broke right off. Now the cable is attached to it with electrical tape. Even that doesn't do the trick. I've been shopping for a replacement, but TiVo only recommends this one, or a wireless one that forces me to "dumb down" my wireless security to WEP. Grrrr....
1-0 out of 5 stars I'd give it 0 if I could!
I went through no less than THREE of these Linksys "toys" trying to connect my second TiVo DVR to my (wired) network - the first one the hinges were broken, the second one just didn't work at all, and the third one was intermittent.I kept trying them because a) my first TiVo box was (and still is) using one of these successfully, and b) it's the one TiVo recommends!

1-0 out of 5 stars Not as advertised
The Wiflyer doesn't work with pocket PC as they desribed in the advertise, doesn't work with Net Zero, Juno or any of those Free internet access providers. 1-0 out of 5 stars The screen isn't blu-ray compliant... it's not 1080p
The screen resolution is not 1920x1080 so it can't harness the power of the blu-ray drive. The only laptop that I've seen with a compatible resolution is the dell 17" series with the optional 1920x1200 resolution screen.

3-0 out of 5 stars buggy??

4-0 out of 5 stars Runs great, no problems
First after reading most of the reviews I have to say that gigabit does not "speed up" your network. It will not allow you to transfer Access files faster, or to copy files faster (usually). You are almost ALWAYS limited to your hard drive speed, and the operating system.
3-0 out of 5 stars Its ok
I didnt get the performance increase that I expected with this product.
5-0 out of 5 stars Ads Gigabit Speed to my Desktop
All you need is an open PCI slot, $$, and 5 minutes to install and get gigabit speeds. Oh and a gigabit switch. :)

1-0 out of 5 stars Agree...Speed STINKS!
I had four of theese units in place and they all got replaced by the FVS338.The main reason is the speed.I have a lab and we tested the max Internet throughput of the FVS318's at 1.2Mbps!This is unacceptable.Oh yes, this is with the latest firmware.
2-0 out of 5 stars But the big flaw is low throughput
Most reviews don't seem to mention a key spec - the throughput of a firewall. I just upgraded my cable connection to the new (up to) 30Mbs plan and bought an FSV318v3 firewall to use with it. Without the firewall in place, I measured about 25Mbs download speed. When I installed the firewall in between the modem and one computer, download speed went down to 6.5Mbs. I also discovered that if the "enable keyword blocking" checkbox is enabled, the throughput went down to 5Mbs, EVEN IF THERE WERE NO KEYWORDS!
2-0 out of 5 stars A good router/firewall: bad VPN
If you want a good router that is easy to configure, this is a good purchase. If you are looking for a VPN router, by a SonicWall.I wish I had.

5-0 out of 5 stars WRT55AG Router and its companion adaptorWPC55AG .
The router was easy to install and is creating signals on two frequencies with no problems. I bought this particular router
1-0 out of 5 stars Just terrible
If you are buying this for the 802.11a don't bother. After fighting to get it even working with factory defaults I finally got it up and running. Then I opened port 80 on my firewall and the router crashed and I had to hard reset it. Once I finally got it to connect agian I could not enable WEP. Once you enable WEP on the 802.11a network the network stops broadcasting. So long as all you want out of it is factory defaults you may be ok.
1-0 out of 5 stars Horrible
We have a revision 2 with the absolute latest firmware. On the plus side the thing does work provided that you don't use ANY of the ethernet ports.

5-0 out of 5 stars THE EG008W V3 IS GREAT.NO FAN ISSUES!
Apparently version 1 had major fan issues. The latest version 3 is completely silent and performance is great. My only complaint is that I want to wall mount this switch and it includes no means to do so.

3-0 out of 5 stars Good Switch, Crappy Fan
As you've probably read from the other reviews... Linksys made poor design decision and put in a very very loud 40mm fan inside the switch.I opened mine up and removed the fan, and attached a fan to the exterior of the case. It's quiet now, but it took far too much hacking to make it worth its while.

5-0 out of 5 stars Has worked fine for me
I must be very lucky with my particular switch as it has been serving me well for about a year or so since I got it. I didn't even know it had a fan until I read the reviews here of the very loud fan everyone is complaining about.Just to put some numbers to my own experience I put my radio shack sound level meter to work to see just how loud the fan actually is. At a distance of 3 inches from the top of the switch the meter reads exactly 60 dBs - at 5 inches or greater it doesn't even register.Unless I turn off both of my computers in my studio, I can't hear it.And these are not loud computers. With everything turned on in my studio the SPL doesnt register anything above 50 dBs where I sit. Someone also mentioned the heat of the unit - mine is certainly warm to the touch, but nowhere near enough to burn anyone. Now this is my only gigabit switch so I have no basis for comparison, but it has not failed me since I got it. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars I'd rather poke my eye with a sharp stick...
...than continue to deal with this peice of junk. The thing gave me nothing but headaches, and I'd give it NO stars if Amazon would let me.Some of the issues I encountered were...
5-0 out of 5 stars Easy setup, easy use.
I have had this router for a while now and love it.I run a mac so I didn't worry about the install disk.I have used it with 2 different broadband ISP's with no problem.I do wish it had removable antennas link many others.I have even purchased a second one for my sister. She has had no problems with it either.Actually of all of the networking hardware, it has been the most reliable and easiest to set-up.
5-0 out of 5 stars Works great!
I don't know why people are having such problems with the wireless router...I plugged it in and I was online instantly. Works great wirelessly with my MacBook Pro...I get full signal being downstairs in my house with the Belkin unit upstairs in my office. Never any dropped signals with it. I guess its hit or miss with people's set up.

5-0 out of 5 stars Motorola WA840G wireless access point
The Motorola WA840G is a first-rate wireless access point, offering 54 MBps and backward compatibility with older wireless devices. I replaced an unreliable Linksys WAP11 with this unit, and I'm extremely pleased with it - I will not be going back to Linksys products again.
5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome Access Point
This access point is absolutely awesome. It is fast, easy to setup, and provides reliable wireless access all over my house. This was one of the first consumer-based access points out there to support MAC address filtering and TKIP encryption, both big pluses in today's environment. For custom firmware developers, the source code for the access point's operating system is avaialable under the GPL license straight from Motorola's Web site.
5-0 out of 5 stars Superb
Excellent product, does not drop connections ever, excellent range, simple and well designed unit. It is simply superb. Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Not so good
Comes preconfigured with a private ip address. Upon changing the units' address to match my home network it locked up and became unuseable. I sent it back. Poor product. I might add that I make my living configuring networks. This is a poor product, period.

5-0 out of 5 stars Works perfectly.
If you follow the directions *exactly* as they're written, it'll work perfectly right off the bat. Saved me a bundle over buying an HP JetDirect card.

1-0 out of 5 stars Not Easy to configure
Print server requires fairly in depth knowlage to set up.After setting ip address and being able to ping the address.I could still not get my offices printer to work properly.Even worse the support from D-link support was poor to say the least. I returned the item and bought a hp printer that had a nic port included in printer ... Read more

Get this Product you cant go wrong all four of my kids psp's can get on the internet at the same time

5-0 out of 5 stars Very easy setup and great performance
I've had the router for about a month now and it has worked very well.Setup was simple and the interface is better than the other routers I've had.I'm using a Motorola WPCI810G PCI card on my PC, and a WN825G PC card adapter on my laptop.Nice strong signals, no tweaking or resets have been required.

4-0 out of 5 stars It's running Linux kernel 2.4
This little router is running a 2.4 kernel.Brain, if OSX has the unzip application that's available for nearly all Unices then you should be able to unpack the "exe"; I just did it after reading your review.
