5-0 out of 5 stars A PSP's best friend
Get this Product you cant go wrong all four of my kids psp's can get on the internet at the same time

5-0 out of 5 stars Very easy setup and great performance
I've had the router for about a month now and it has worked very well.Setup was simple and the interface is better than the other routers I've had.I'm using a Motorola WPCI810G PCI card on my PC, and a WN825G PC card adapter on my laptop.Nice strong signals, no tweaking or resets have been required.

4-0 out of 5 stars It's running Linux kernel 2.4
This little router is running a 2.4 kernel.Brain, if OSX has the unzip application that's available for nearly all Unices then you should be able to unpack the "exe"; I just did it after reading your review.

Editorial Review

In the past, people creating a home network had to choose between string ing cheap Ethernet cable all over the house or spending tons of cash on a slow, unreliable wireless system. Products like the BEFW11S4 wireless four-port cable/ DSL router from Linksys have changed all that. This unit works as an Internet ga teway, traditional four-port Ethernet hub, and wireless Ethernet hub; is easy to install; and is relatively inexpensive. With the Linksys cable modem and wireless Ethernet adapter we tested with the unit, everything worked like a charm with next to no configuration hassles.Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Reliable, low price, but a bit slow.
I have been using this for 2 years. It was as easy to set up as any other wireless router I have used, such as those from US Robotics.I have 2 computers linked directly to the router by Ethernet, and two by WiFi.I also use the router to link into a Vonage Linksys RT31P2 router used to support 2 VOIP phones.
5-0 out of 5 stars No problems with mine...
A lot of hateful reviews on here. Hopefully I can offset this a little..
2-0 out of 5 stars Good in theory... major issues in practice
I've been using my BEFW11S4 for a few months now. The little thing has its good points - a nice, unobtrusive little box I can just plug in and hide on top of some piece of office furniture, allowing my rather over-laptop-equipped household some nice convenient net access, while still allowing the home office systems a wired connection.

5-0 out of 5 stars Krusell Bluetooth Headset Holster

4-0 out of 5 stars Works with Windoze
I bought one of these, new, for the price of a couple of McD's meals, and it's allowed me to bring a small wireless "modem" (from my ISP) into work, hook it up to an aging, otherwise stand-alone laptop I had gathering dust at home, and get good, private Internet access (on my own time) *without* connecting through my company's network, creating any security issues or bringing down the wrath of my corporate LAN-Lords. It's not the fastest thing around, but it is reliable on every Microsoft OS from W98 on - and maybe earlier ones, too. W2K supports it directly, so it's essentially "plug and play" on my old laptop.
1-0 out of 5 stars I wouldn't recommend this company!
If you want messed around this is the company for you! I won't never shop here again. They aren't real good at responding back in email either. I give them 1 star cause there's no '0'star's you can give a company on here it looks. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone! I'll do my shopping elsewhere.

3-0 out of 5 stars Very easy to use product

3-0 out of 5 stars Difficult setup, works after it gets going
I could not get the wireless portion to connect for a while. While searching for a solution, this site was at the top of the list so I decided to post my fix here.
2-0 out of 5 stars Configuration is big task
I bought the product 2 weeks before and I have a thought this will work with all printers but not. D Link technical support is very bad I called at least 10 times to find my printer is compatible or not.
1-0 out of 5 stars The most difficult thing in the world to configure
Problem #1 - out of hte box, these units are assigned 192.168.0.10 as an IP address.find if your network is on the .0 subnet. So I had to change my entire network over to this in order to get it configured.

4-0 out of 5 stars I wish the ports were on the back
I agree with the other reviewers, in that this is a very solid built and reliable product.I've been using mine for six months now and have not had to touch it.It performs very well, as I've ran multiple file transfers simultaneously among four computers and it was amazingly faster than when using an older 10/100 hub.5-0 out of 5 stars Reliable switch
Sturdy construction in an unobstrusive yet eye-catching package, the FS105 is an excellent workhorse! I have been using one for the past 1 1/2 years without a hitch. Setup is easy and quick so there is very little hassle and headaches involved.5-0 out of 5 stars Good Device, Small Size is a +

4-0 out of 5 stars Get this
Not surprisingly, the standard short antenna located among the cables on the back of a desktop computer didn't work well.
3-0 out of 5 stars Helped some but is it worth the cost?
The exterior antenna did help as it got the antenna out from behind a cabinet. It did improve the signal strength for that reason, but I'll bet there are cheaper ones that work just as well.

4-0 out of 5 stars Inexpensive and it works
My setup has the wireless router on the ground floor and two machines upstairs. One machine directly above the router worked fine but another that was about 20' away worked poorly.Tried the antenna on the router and it really didn't help. Then I tried this antenna on the most distant PC and the improvement was incredible. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Are There Two Versions of This Router???
I have one of these routers and it's the best home router I think I have ever owned or setup. It's been rock stable since I bought it 2 years ago, never had to reboot, and it was easy to configure and has worked brilliantly with both my powerbook and centrino laptop. I've seen other reviews that share my experience and I think that they must have made two or more versions of this router at the same time because it's about the only thing that explains the extreme differences in experience from one reviewer to the next. Knowing that so many people had so much trouble I'd be reluctant to recommend it, but mine has been very good.

1-0 out of 5 stars BUYER BEWARE...CISCO JUNK
This MAY be a good product for the occasional user. However, if your small business depends on this, you are dead. This baby will crash, crash, crash on you...even with the latest firmware. Nice idea to build a wireless router that supports VPN tunnels, but in reality, it just does not work. Look at the other reviews and think. Why does everybody say stay away? There must be something wrong if this many people complain. I live in Japan, and the Japanese retailers have already pulled it from the shelves due to the number of complaints. This is the SECOND time mine has locked up today. It WILL be replaced.

4-0 out of 5 stars Flawless operation
I head up a network team for a large medical center and bought this for my own use.Although it ran fine from the get-go, I did one firmware upgrade (an easy, menu-driven 5 minute operation) and it has been flawless. There are also 3rd party versions of code out there which add on a ton of functionality, but you'll lose your support from Linksys.Selected this unit because it can be used as an end-node vpn (vpn from your remote laptop to your home pc, for example).Only dig against it is that it does not have dual antennas to eliminate multipath.

3-0 out of 5 stars Microphone is bad
I got 4 units for company use. Speaker is excellent. But one unit is deadly bad, very low mic gain. I returned it. Other three units are less satisfied. It's relatively low gain at mic. You can hear my voice, but like a fainted. I expected a loudness like an embedded microphone in Logitech Web Camera... It performs too far to it's glorious SoundStation. I'm considering to return all units...

1-0 out of 5 stars Polycom dropped the ball
I had been following this device for several months before it's release; Polycom has always developed superior conferencing products in the past so I expected this device to outperform other USB Speakerphones.I was wrong. We received the Communicator and started testing it with multiple applications such as Skype and MSN Messenger. The Speaker sounded excellent but the microphone on the device was near useless. The person on the other side of the conversation could barely hear anything.I adjusted every control I could find and it made no difference.I will be returning this device as it is an overpriced paperweight.

3-0 out of 5 stars I also thought it had an external antenna connector
I had the same problem - it turns out the card with the external antenna connector is the Orinoco 11b/g PC Card Gold.

2-0 out of 5 stars Disappointing performance by a former leader
I have used and been a fan of the Orinoco wireless network cards since they were first introduced by Lucent. I needed a wireless card for a new notebook and thought this would be a great opportuity to upgrade from my old B Gold Classic to a newer A/B/G Gold Combo card. However, after installing the Combo card, I have been constantly frustrated by dropped signals and dramatically reduced range of the card compared to my old B Gold Classic. Rarely can I maintain a wireless connection between my AP and the Combo card over 30ft.(through 1/2 drywall and wood stud walls). My Gold Classic was rock solid to at least 150ft.Further, the new Combo card's management and diagnostic utilities aren't nearly as useful for identifying and solving problems -- particularly signal strength and competing APs -- as the Client Manager utility available for the Gold Glassic. I have been a fan of Orinoco products but Proxim seems to be letting quality control slip. The Combo is going back and I just ordered another B Gold Classic.

3-0 out of 5 stars not suitable for MAC or wardriving
Well when I got the card I was disappointed to see no external antenna port. I will see if there is a restocking fee. The documentation that I read stated that it did have it. The only ones good for war driving is the old Gold classic i think its an 8421 or something in that range. Also it doesnt work too good on a Mac. This is meant to be the creme-de-la creme of cards. hmm more like cream of a filet-o-fish. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Very disappointing
After years of using a 10/100 hub I decided to "upgrade" to a switch.Expecting a good product from Linksys, especially since they were acquired by Cisco, I purchased the SD208 8-port 10/100 switch.I put it on my network and the problems began.Any time I would attempt to transfer large volumes (1GB+) of data between two of my PC's the switch would freeze up on me and I'd have to unplug it and plug it back in to regain network connectivity.Read more

Versus fixing it, I ordered this card.Getting it to work under XP SP2 was effortless. You plug in the card and boot up.XP detected the card and fired it up.Once configured, it asked me to reboot. After the boot, the card fired up and showed up like any other NIC.I was able to re-name it to NETGEAR...
1-0 out of 5 stars Not Compatible with Windows 2000/XP, HORRIBLE Tech Support - AVOID!!
I had this adapter running in my the Cardbus slot of my Windows 98 computer and it ran fine. I installed it on my Windows 2000 laptop. Well, my first sign of trouble was a warning popup when I installed the drivers that the drivers were not certified by Microsoft. So, imagine my shock when my brand new computer constantly got Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) crashes. Big blue screen, loss of data, computer freezes tight, power button inoperative, and when you have to use a pin to press that tiny little laptop reset button on a brand new computer, well, we all know that's when you're in Computer Hell.

1-0 out of 5 stars Looks good, but doesn't work very well
I bought this hub to go with my Mac Mini.It looks good, and I like the two front-facing ports (great for iPods and cameras). However, I've had nothing but problems with the devices I've used with the hub.
5-0 out of 5 stars Nice 7 port hub
The ports are nicely placed. The hub is narrow and tall making a nice fit on a crowded desk

4-0 out of 5 stars Not bad for the price
First of all I read the reviews before buying, so I didn't have high hopes of it standing on end, it fits my desktop scheme better on its side anyway.Iogear could have included some stick on feet for the side, but that may give creedance to the poor design of the phony rubber stand..that could have worked if they had just made it a little bigger and heavier.I wanted a 7 port hub that had at two front ports to plug in a camera or jump drive, this and the Belkin seem to be the only ones available.I probably would have bought the Belkin if the price had been the same.
