5-0 out of 5 stars Decent Sound for a GREAT price
I wanted ipod integration while keeping the stock factory deck.I wanted to keep the clean lines.I was also looking for a bargain way to add my ipod.I bought a tape deck adapter as a quick fix, but was rather annoyed at the constant clicking and hissing that came from the deck and speakers. While that solution was much better than the terrible fm transmitters for the ipod(itrip, and the like), the sound quality was terrible.
4-0 out of 5 stars As close as you can get to the real Ipod control
I just purchased this unit for my 2005 Rav4 while using one of the latest Pioneer head units. This is actually my 3rd Ipod adapter for my car, the other two being: 2-0 out of 5 stars Sound quality sucks
I bought, installed it - after getting Nissan antenna adapter in addition to the FM adapter that came free with its purchase.

2-0 out of 5 stars You Get What You Pay For
I purchased the Lyra to replace another MP3 player that had crapped out on me, and the primary factor in my decision was the price.Big mistake.I will give credit for the relatively big LCD screen and button size, as well as the generous battery life, but that's about it.The player doesn't recognize folders, so if you have more than one CD uploaded onto it at one time, you can't choose between them and they will alternate play. Also, a standard MP3 playlist won't play in order, rather it will be (mostly) alphabetical.Additionally, there is a lot of hiss on start up and between tracks that sound more akin to something you'd hear on a non-digital mix-tape.As far as comfort, the arm-band is woefully small (I'm pretty small and I had to adjust the velcro almost all the way out to keep it from cutting off my circulation), the earbud cord gets in the way really badly when I am running, and the controls aren't as easily accessible as on other MP3 players. While I'm not going to take the I-Pod plunge, I will be on the market for a new MP3 player.Despite the price, the RCA Lyra is not worth it.

5-0 out of 5 stars For the price, you can't ask for much more!
I purchased two of these, one for a friend who is a big music lover, and one for myself. We have now had the device for around 6 months and so far smooth sailing. Both devices are used at least an hour daily, and no problems whatsoever! We haven't had any freezing problems, but then again have kept the card at 512 or under, so that may be an issue some others are experiencing with higher memory.
2-0 out of 5 stars Nice design / Low Quality
I was very happy with this little gadget when I purchased it. I used it all the time. I would load it with audio books and music. I liked that I could expand it with the same memory card that went into my camera. The functionality was simple and the audio was clear. It would have been nice if the display had a backlight, but I was willing to live with it. After a couple months of use I started having file glitches. It would only recognize about 2/3 of what was loaded. After another month it would start playing everything like it was in fast foward. The voices would sound like Alvin and the Chipmunks. I would have to click foward or back to make it stop and play right. After a few months of that it just stayed stuck in fast foward mode. The counter would speed by, but no audio would come out anymore. I took good care of it. It never left the house, sat in a hot car, or was dropped. It just garbaged out on me. I paid around $70 for mine, so needless to say I was very disappointed. Maybe for some that is chump change, but for me it was investment. I doubt I will purchase anymore RCA products after this. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Disappointing service, battery life
I originally bought this because of the styling and the price difference between this model and other companies' MP3 players. It has been nothing but a waste of time and money. The battery life was fine during the first cycle and after four subsequent recharges ended up lasting no more than a few minutes. I sent it in for service. They charged it and sent it back to me. The same problem started happening again. The company refused to send me a new model or give me a refund. Instead, I had to ship it back to Samsung for yet another go at fixing it. Like the first time, they charged the battery and sent it back to me (after six weeks!). I received it yesterday, and only half of the battery is left after turning it on for the first time. The company also erased ALL of my music and picture files. I just called customer service, and the office is closed. What company does not offer 24 hour customer assistance? Overall, I do not recommend the YP-Z5 model, and I don't think I will buy Samsung products again.

4-0 out of 5 stars Even more than it claims to be
I recently bought one of these for my wife. I am no audiophile, but I find the sound excellent. It looks pretty sharp and appears durable too. I chose it because Amazon and others advertise it as an ogg vorbis compatible player. If you are looking for an ogg player too, you should know that Samsung does not support ogg files and says so on its website. But that's OK. Whether the company officially supports ogg or not, the engineers do, and the YP-Z5 plays them perfectly. And ogg compatability has been improved with successive firmware releases. You can get ogg files onto the player through Windows Media Player as described in the manual if you download a third party ogg plug-in for WMP first. But better yet, you can drag-n-drop them as long as you don't try putting them in the "Music" directory (put them in "Other" and the player will still play them). But wait, it gets even better! Get the latest firmware from the Samsung website and you can turn off the WMP-based interface entirely and your PC will treat the player the same as any flash drive (no file restrictions for the "Music" folder). Organize your music with Windows Explorer just as you would any set of files. I at least find that a lot simpler. The best result of this is that it becomes cross-platform compatible. I can manage the music on my Linux machine by mounting the player as a USB flash drive. It should work on a Mac too. I can also create playlists in XMMS (a Linux media player) and tweak them to be saved and used on the YP-Z5. This should work with Winamp as well.Wow.
4-0 out of 5 stars Sleek design, sound quality is good - couldn't ask for more!
The Samsung YP-Z5 is a well balanced MP3 player, despite having a relatively small HD space. For the price, the user gains a relatively easy to install interface for their PC (The player uses windows media player exclusively, which most users will already have loaded on their computer), decent quality headphones and a well sized player that does not seem to have any glaring flaws.

4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent value
The Toshiba Gigabeat 10GB is an excellent value. It took a while to get used to the navigation system, but I now find it easy to use.Accessories are not as easy to find as for some other brands, but I have managed to acquire the important basics such as a car charger and travel charger. I am overall very satisfied with the purchase and would again choose it over other options.

2-0 out of 5 stars Awful software
The Gigabeat looks sharp and the sound is great but the software is horrible. The cradle doesn't work either on my home or work PC. The "gigabeat room" is not intuitive at all. 5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome Mp3 Player!!!
I finally decided that I needed an Mp3 player, so I started searching. My friend told me about Creative Labs players and how in his opinion they were much better than any iPod on the market because of their compatiblity.Werll here I am, two months later, the proud owner of a 8GB Blue MicroPhoto, and I must say it's one of the best purchases I've made in a while.Me being a sophomore in college, I wanted something that woulc hold all my music while walking to class or riding the bus or working out in.But I didn't want an over-the-top player like a 30GB iPod Video or something like that, because I don't have the $300 to spend and I wouldn't need THAT much space. So all in all here's what I think about the player:
4-0 out of 5 stars Better Than an iPod
I like it, because it's got a lot of memory (8 gigabytes) to store more songs than I can ever hope to add. The sound quality from the supplied earphones (earbuds) is adequate. There are better earphones available to take advantage of the excellent sound quality from this 8 GB Microphoto player. The batteries do not last very long. With a full charge, it will only last 5 to 8 hours, instead of the touted 15 hours. I also like the fact that you can charge the unit when it's plugged into your computer with the USB2 cable.

5-0 out of 5 stars My Hot Lil Rock Box
I love my Microphoto! I love it, love it, love it!!! I purchased this item from Circuit City for about $180 plus a special protection plan for $60 after the first 6gb Zen Micro I got from Best Buy stopped working within months. I love that I can integrate different parts of this item in my everyday life with the calendar, and other great features like the fm radio so I can check out my favorite talk shows. That, is what's up!

5-0 out of 5 stars Feature-Rich MP3 Player Is a Big Hit
We purchased the Samsung YP-T8X 512 MB MP3 Player for our 10-year-old daughter last Christmas. It was an excellent choice because it does just about everything you could imagine. In addition to having a sleek, contemporary design, it has great sound and a brilliant colorful display. With the software provided, you can convert video to MPEG4 to play on this little dynamo. I was able to store several cartoons including "The Grinch" as well as over 40 songs. You can also view digital pictures, record and play FM radio stations. The unit has excellent picture quality. The player also comes with a couple of games you can play.My daughter loves the player and we have had no problems with it.We are planning on buying another one for my 9-year-old son this Christmas.

1-0 out of 5 stars this mp3 pales not only to the iPod but to the cheaper Sandisk mp3 players
I had an iPod Mini.It died with no hard use in 11 months.I bought this Samsung player at Best Buy for [...].The player's navigation keys weren't quite as good as the iPod clickwheel. The memory is tiny for a player that can do so much.I like the addition of FM radio and games. Here's the problem. When only28 days old, the screen died.I used it about as much as my iPod Mini, which is not very much. The earbuds are mediocre, the navigation buttons pale in comparision, and it's reliability is awful.I was also annoyed because the price on the 1 gig Nano went down $50.I got a full refund and went to Walmart. For only $85, I bought a Sandisk Sansa m240 with 1 gig. That's right, I gave up the color screen and games, but got twice the memory and saved $65.I have had my Sandisk for over 3 months.I use it everyday at school in homeroom and run with it on our treadmill for 30 minutes everyday. This player was used more in a week than the others were ever used in half a month.I was going to say a month, but the Samsung YP-T8 didn't even last that long.Don't buy the Samsung YP-T8.It pales in comparison to the iPod, the iRiver Clix, the Creative Zen V Plus, and even the cheaper Sandisk Sansa m200 series.Actually, this pales in comparison to just about any mp3 player on the market.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Snap To Use
I really like this player. It is so much better than my last one from Creative.Easy menu choices once you get the hang of it. Very good sound and lots of good features.I recommend it highly to anyone wanting a low price but better alternative to the Ipod units. ... Read more

At 0.63 ounces and 0.94 inches (24mm) square, the mobiBLU Cube DAH-1500i is the world's smallest MP3 player (as of January, 2006). 1-0 out of 5 stars Bad Product
While the size and design are very innovative, the functionality is non-existant.The waste of money will not play ANY LEGALLY OWNED music downloads.I tried several different file types, but the only files that will work are some old MP3s that I had before Napster was declared illegal. This thing is a joke and the info on their website is not helpful. They do not answer the phone or answer email.I have been RIPPED OFF!!!

1-0 out of 5 stars ok for 5 mos, then died, NO cust support
i initally bought this player for the size and price, and i was very pleased for about 5 months, but suddenly my computer would not recognize it.apparently, from reading a few blogs, its a common prob., and when i tried calling mobiblu's toll free number for cust. service, the inbox was full.sure, the 1 year warranty is good on paper, but good luck trying to claim it.BUYER BEWARE~!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Despite minor problems, the best and most convenient DAP for the price
No need to repeat all the features, but the FM tuner functionality and recording capability is invaluable to me.The microphone is very high quality for its type -- I've used it to record lectures, public announcements, and live music, and it's performed admirably in all cases.FM reception isn't too strong, but some is better than none!

5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Sound
I have had my T10 1GB MP3 player for about 3 weeks and it is everything I had hoped for.I purchased the Koss foam earplug type headphones - the sound is fantastic, they don't fall out and they don't hurt the ears.I am amazed at the amount of music I can store on this MP3 player, and since it is stored on a chip rather than a hard drive, it is not delicate.I am still on my first AA battery and I have been through the complete Handels Messiah and several other CDs as well - like that ever ready bunny, just keeps on going.Have not done any voice recording yet, but have heard it works great.

3-0 out of 5 stars Underperformed
I mainly bought it & use it for FM lecture recordings. For such purpose, the battery life is real bad, approx 15 hours.USB Sync for files transfers to PC also drains fast even a new battery. I think I'll have to buy rechargeable ones. It's too bad that the manufacturer didn't provide an armband & line-in cables. You can't FF or rewind the recordings from the MP3.Using Windows Media doesn't allow you to copy files to the MP3, you have to use Explorer (that's not fun.) The followingaregood: sound, screen display, size, neck strap.

4-0 out of 5 stars iRiver T10 1 GB MP3 Player

4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent for walking, jogging, working out.
I bought one for my wife about six months ago to have for her fitness center workouts. I enjoyed using it so much when I walk and jog that I just recently bought one for myself. Both players work fine. I don't hear any squeal or see any battery problems yet. I also heard some say the arm strap was tacky, but it fits comfortably and holds the player just fine so you don't have to carry it in your hands or pockets (like several I see with ipods and other mp3 players doing). For more serious listening settings, it might be advisable to check into more expensive players, but for working out, this player would be hard to beat for the price (shop around online for best price).

2-0 out of 5 stars By All Means Skip This Product and Buy the SanDisk Sansa
I owned this exact product for 7 months before it died unexpectedly. It replaced a Rio that I owned for 6 years and used for 30-60 minutes every day running or lifting weights. The Lyra's battery consumption was horrible compared to the Rio, and even worse to my new 1 Gb Sansa.I'm still on my first battery with the Sansa, and it has played what would have been 3 batteries worth of MP-3's on the Lyra.
4-0 out of 5 stars A good value
The day finally came when i just HAD to get an mp3 player. I didn't want a high-end one since they were too expensive and i really had no idea how to use or care for one. While visiting the local Walmart, i saw a locked glass display of expensive mp3's. Hanging above and outside of the display, all alone, was this lyra 512mb model. The package indicated that it works with windows ME. It has already been established that i'm cheap which is why i haven't yet upgraded my operating system, so this little device seemed to be the right choice. Charlie Brown might have had the same feeling while selecting the christmas tree for the holiday party.

The fingerprints were very annoying at first, but the hard and shiny acrylic surface is quickly restored to perfection with a quick swipe of the thumb. The design is simply elegant in material quality, like a piece of jewelry accentuated with understated OLED animation effects. The built-in clock is a small touch, but the unit's simplicity makes it a handsome timepiece in its own right. Not to mention that this is the best looking USB thumb drive I've seen on the market. Like a sliver of fresh-cut dough the curves make it very pleasurable to the eyes and to the touch. If only they were cheaper by the dozen.

5-0 out of 5 stars Definitely Worth the Money!
I asked for the Zen Vision for my birthday.I chose this one versus the Apple iPod because of the larger screen to watch movies, removable battery and built in FM radio and voice recorder. My parents were a little bit wary of buying it for me - saying that they only say the point of listening to music and $390 was a lot to pay for gift. However, once I got it, it was definitely worth the money.
5-0 out of 5 stars Mind Blowing
Before buying this one I did a lot of research and narrowed down my options to either the 5th gen 30gb ipod or the creative zen vision, and i don't regret getting the zen vision at all.
3-0 out of 5 stars Like the idea, but product has issues
I love the look and the idea of the Creative Vision, but I've had quite a few problems with mine, and it's only a month or so old.First, the device kept freezing up when I plugged it into the computer.I finally figured out that the USB cable was faulty. So then I got another USB cable that's OK.So then it worked fine for a month or so, at which point, now it's started to freeze up for no reason.A few days ago, it just froze when I was viewing photos on it.Today, it froze when I plugged it into a computer under its flash drive function. When it's not having any problems, it's a beautiful device, and I love it.But it's flaws are disappointing... ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Sony Bean
I just ordered the second one for our family. It's the 3rd Sony MP3 player to join our househould. They've been very dependable, and they're easy to use.The software is simple. The sound is great, and the batteries hold a charge for an incredible amount of time.My teenagers (girls) love that they come in colors, and they're different than what most of their friends have.Mom loves that they're affordable.

3-0 out of 5 stars It gets one demerit for the equalizer
I really want this player but it doesn't have a fully customizable equalizer like some of Samsung's previous models do.Its a shame really, because I like the player in other ways. Some others have hoped there would be a firmware update to add this features but its been almost a year and several updates and still no improvement on the equalizer.
5-0 out of 5 stars after a lot of comparing...
I owned a Iriver H10 5GB which died 13 months after I purchased it. The player was problematic at best when it did work.Very poor customer support etc, so I wanted to do a lot of research before I spent $200+ dollars on a player.FYI if you plan on running purchase a MP3 player that uses flash memory, any Hard drive based model does not take shock well.
2-0 out of 5 stars Bad Unit??
Overall the unit is pretty good, though sound and ergonomics are nothing incredible.I am not a big fan of the touchpad scroll but the volume bar on the side is good. The unit I bought has a battery problem and I only get about 3 hours of play instead of 30.The battery seems to go down between uses and goes quickly while playing. Between the battery problems and the touchpad that is too hard to use I am returning this for a Sansa player. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Great if you put some work into it
All the other reviews on here are very negative.I understand where they're all coming from.It is NOT easy to put songs on this player and if you're a fan of any other music jukebox besides Sony's SonicStage (I am...) then you're going to have a hard time.If you put some work into this player, it can be better than an iPod (in storage).According to the description on a 2 GB iPod Nano, it can store 1,000 songs on 2 gigs. This 1 GB Sony Network Walkman could probably store a TON more than that (possibly 2000 but you'd have to be very lucky). Here's a little guide to using it that will make it worth it.
3-0 out of 5 stars SonyNetwork Walkman
The Sony Walkman, Sony over the past 2 decades have been about the best product to purchase, from the first tape player walkman I purchased to the CD players, now to the MP3 players. As a long standing tradition, you almost always have to purchase additional headphones as the pair supplied usually do not last very longv (or sound terrible). The same goes for today's MP3 players. Back in 1986 you could purchase a pair of Sony ear buds, and they would last six months, today your lucky if they last two weeks. But Of course the Tape Player walkman would last a long time, until the cover finally separated from the body, and I became tired of taping it back together. Today the Sony NW-E107 model seems to have survived the usual abuse I give these products, How many times can you drop one, I have had mine for nine months now, it is scratched and beat, I have gone through many sets of head phones, But the pair that have lasted are the Sony MDR-EX51 ear buds (around $50), they are coming apart in the usual Sony fashion (a common problem since the 80s), but they have lasted. The Sony NW-E107 itself is still operational. The buttons have become sticky which I resolved with a can of air and silicone spray, the battery life is good (I wish it had a rechragable battery), the sound is good enough. I use this walkman every day, it does take a lot abuse, I am not looking for high fidelity perfection, I am looking for a simple to use, small package that can carry a lot of music, with a reasonably decent sound. This has all that. The only problems I have really encountered are
2-0 out of 5 stars Disappointing Product
The biggest and most serious drawback I ever faced (because of which I have not been able to use the player even once) was the format incompatibility with mp3.
