Too Bright and some menu controls are "Not Available"
I just got the monitor yesterday.After plugging into my computer, I found the monitor was too bright. Unfortunately, my graphics card has no option to adjust the brightness, so I had to adjust the brightness to 0 on the monitor. Some menu controls, color for example, were "Not Available." It came with a base which cannot swirl.I could not see 3D-feel on small icons as they used to be on my 20" CRT monitor, but large pictures were great.

Decent Monitor
I'm a digital artist and I wanted to spend more money on my machine rather than monitor, so I tried this one out and love it. I have two of them. They don'thave a usb hub or anything like that. It is what it is.. a simple monitor that works great. Took a little tweaking to get the resolution and color right (with my mac) but its got great color and is just what I need. I'll probably get two more for my other system and dump my CRT's.

Great Picture. Poor quality control.
I purchased this monitor b/c in it's size and class it was very competitively priced with a $100 off coupon (expired 1/1/060). When it arrived, there were 3+ pixels that were dead. Another, right in the middle of the screen, had only green functioning. After a little web searching I found others had the same problem. Sony's web site even says a number of dead pixels is normal and you won't notice them after awhile! I wrote Amazon, who immediately placed another monitor in FedEx (...)Unfortunately, the replacement has 1 dead pixel. It's in a corner though. I looked around at other monitors but eventually decided that the Sony's brightness and color correctness (good calibration was easy to achieve) made it a very good monitor for the price (even with a dead pixel). Of course, it was already on hooked up and on my desk- convenience was certainly a factor.
A fine monitor for text and graphics
I chose this monitor after reading a PCmag review of top 10 19" flat panels. Though this was not the top rated monitor, the review accredited the Sony as the best for use with both text and graphics. My use of the monitor for editing and image manipulation has proven to me that the PCmag review was true to the product.

DVI with no B's please!
I am running two of these monitors as dual screens while I write software.My eyes are no longer sore at the end of the day.Excellent text rendering and bright screens make this monitor a pleasure to use.

Of the brands you don't know, AOC is one you should!
I had not heard of them but have been VERY impressed with the quality of the image their displays produce. The two I know personally is this one and a 19" Widescreen. Both monitors give the best Viewsonics a run for their money. The 19" widescreen actually looked better than the 20" Viewsonic widescreen.

Stunning performance in micro-sized package.
When I bought this I had no idea how good it is, especially when I compare it to other models out there now.DLP, auto-imaging, Carl-Zeis lens, mouse-remote for USB presentations, and the list goes on with it's remarkable resolution and quality build.Sometimes you buy something and have buyer's regret, but not with this one.Oh boy, when I look around and compare with what's around locally, I can't believe how much I got in this tiny package.Since I move around a lot, this is my TV to have.I use it for PS2, Web surfing, and DVD & Dvr watching.I simply project with a screen, yep you heard it, directly on the wall, making a 20ft+ sized super wall of video.It's so large with such great detail thanks to the resolution, that I often have 1 window surfing the web, while in the adjacent window my wife and I recline watching our DVR recordings together.Much better than slouching over my laptop, you bet!

19 inch...great buy.
K... I just bought this so this review is based on the first impression of a semi-impulse buy. Been lookin at these for a bit and had a "great buy" moment of weakness. (...). Can't see beatin that price for a 19 inch LCD.

Not For Beginners!
My company purchased this projector to be able to give PowerPoint presentations without having to connect to a PC or Laptop.This projector will work for that, but it isn't a projector for beginners.Multiple calls to Epson Tech Support were less than useless, they actually gave us really bad advice.Finally we got it up and running. The projector doesn't support all the animation options in PowerPoint but it does support the basic ones, like wipe, blinds, fly in, etc.Once we got the hang of the projector and we loaded all the software, ran the conversion and saved all to a memory stick, it ran fine and the display is very good.But unless you are a dedicated techy, my advice is find a simpler projector or connect a laptop. ... Expensive but worth the price
I have been happily using my FW900 12-24 hrs a day for over 3 years now. If I had to go back to using a 19 inch monitor, I would probably lose my mind. I previously owned a Viewsonic 21" monitor. This Sony GDM-FW900 is superior. Even a 21" monitor seems small now.
It's got the most OOOOOOHh factor.....
I have been using Sun's near flat 21" monitor, but when we finally started to have image problems with them (actually, they were getting really old..:o() I knew the time had come to pony up some bucks again for monitors. So after some research into what's out there today new and used, we found some 3 year old 24" tru-flat Trinitron's, off lease. I decided to give it a shot and picked up a handful of them.
