Editorial Review

Power Point presenters will love this smoothly curved remote control. Instead of having to stay near the laptop, Atek's Tote-Remote gives you up to 30 feet of roaming room. The dongle-style base uses a radio frequency to communicate with the controller, which means you don't have to worry about maintaining a clear line of sight during your presentation. The wheel built in to the side offers page up/page down functions along with cursor scrolling; a laser pointer allows you to easily highlight specific items on your agenda. The sole button provides you with instant "escape" ability. Atek includes a one-year warranty. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Painless and perfect for me
My remote needs are simple.I want to be able to move my powerpoint presentations forward or backward one slide at a time. And I want a laser pointer to call attention to features on a slide if I choose.Voila! The Atek device does all this painlessly and well.Of course it can do a lot more, but truthfully, I'm just not interested. So I plug the little antenna stick into a USB port on my laptop and I'm ready to go.The remote fits in a pocket or I carry it in my hand or I set it on a table. When I'm ready, a touch causes the slide to do what I want from anywhere in the room.I use the laser less than I thought I would, but it has been nice to have when I've wanted it.I'm completely satisfied.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Item
This item is great for presentations. It is user friendly and easy to install. The mobility of the remote will allow you to deliver PowerPoint presentations with ease. The instructions are easy to understand.I wish I had this item while in graduate school.I would recommend this item to anyone interested in purchasing a presentaion remote.

5-0 out of 5 stars Handy and dependable!
I make frequent presentations using MSPowerPoint. What a drag to keep circling like a moth around my computer to hit the arrow button to move to the next slide. Some setups have had remotes tied to the video projectors, but usually they are big clunky things with no easy way to go back to a previous slide or effect. This sweet little item fits neatly and inobtrusively in the palm of your hand.Simply pop in the little USB receiver to your lap top.My Windows XP reads and sets up the device in seconds and we're set to go. It has an easy up and down switch and uses a radio signal with a nice long reach. It also contains a useful laser pointer and a multifunction button for a few "advanced" actions if you need it. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great mouse and better price.
I was using a Labtec 3 button optical mouse but got fed up with it because the wood grain surface of my desk would sometimes confuse it and the cursor would teleport across the screen. The buttons were also weak, the right click did not always work and the scroll wheel would sometimes go the opposite direction you wanted it to.I don't think it was a bad mouse per se, but I think age and use took their toll on it.

4-0 out of 5 stars Nice Big mouse
Pro: If you have big hands this one is for you. And I can understand the review about getting a very bad angle of your wrist... A wrist rest mouse pad solves this!
5-0 out of 5 stars Great mouse at a low price
I've bought a number of mice over the years, some not so good, so I went to Circuit City and tried out all 15 or so mice they had. This was the most comfortable (YMMV as I have largish hands; or at least wear large glove sizes). The slightly concave sides (for nice thumb placement) made of finely ribbed rubber give it a very comfortable feel and the finger reach to the buttons is perfect for me.
4-0 out of 5 stars Good, but not for those with weak wrists or small hands
I had trouble deciding whether or not to rate this with 3 or 4 starts.

5-0 out of 5 stars A dozen years, and ticking...
I've been using this trackball for 12yrs, and loving it. It fits my hand perfectly. The programmable-button functions I use most are (for browsers) previous-page, and (for all applications) close-window, scroll-to-top. It drives me batty to be on a computer where I have to go to the keyboard for these! I have to shift my palm to use the scroll wheel, but I don't mind that much: if I'm scrolling, I'm usually reading closely and not trying to use other mouse functions.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Wireless Mouse
I'm an IT director at a high school and we have tested over a dozen wireless mice from cheap IR mice to expensive RF mice. This mouse is by far the best at the under $100 price and works fine for all of our applications. Some things we like: 1) It doesn't require any drivers in Windows! Some other mice worked well but the drivers required were awful. 2) It is very nicely designed with the transmitter fitting nicely into the mouse and shutting the mouse off. 3) Great battery life on a single 2025 silver oxide--the fact that the transmitter placed in the unit shuts it off probably helps a lot. 4) Nice button layout with left, right on top, left button on bottom, and right button on top. 5) Has a decent laser pointer. The only negative is that the circular button used to move the mouse is a bit sluggish, but I found this was true with EVERY wireless mouse, even the most expensive.

4-0 out of 5 stars Worth the cost
I wanted a new presentation device that was plug-and-play, included a mouse controller, could work away from the receiver, and connected via USB. My old Logitech presenter had a traditional mouse port connector, which meant it no longer worked on modern laptops (even with a new connector). I have found the Pilot Pro very good at fulfilling my requirements and highly recommend it. The only concern I have is that the mouse control button moves more slowly that what I have been used to. Thus it will take me more time to get used to it. The Pilot Pro is a great improvement over the older presenters in that you can move much further from the receiver than before and has a built-in previous slide button. I like the fact that the receiver fits inside the Pilot Pro and automatically preserves battery power when inserted. It has a 2.4 GHz RF. I am pleased to say it did not interfere with my DSL modem when I tried it at home. The battery is a coin battery, which costs over a dollar, but is worth the cost if the battery lasts 6 months, as promised. The Pilot Pro also will fit comfortably in anyone's hand. I may revise this review after I use the device several times.

3-0 out of 5 stars Works great except when not working!
I purchased this product based on the reviews of this product and others. The unit seemed to work great - at first. However, the battery seems to lose connection with the contacts. This occurred everytime I used the remote. In order to get the remote working again, you have to pull out the little battery tray and re-insert it.I returned the item and purchased a LogiTech Cordless Presenter. It uses AAA batteries which are much easier to come by.The LogiTech remote works great.I've used it several times without any difficulty. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars No complaints
This is definitely a comfortable mouse if you don't have big hands. It is a pretty small mouse but it contours very nicely, even if you are left-handed. The extra buttons are handy for lazy people like me who don't like using the keyboard or clicking on buttons to go forward, backward, and switch between programs. The button in the middle though (the one that lets you switch programs) is out of the way. It takes just a bit more effort to use, meaning that you would have to remove your hand from the default contour to use that button. I actually hardly ever use that button. I can't live without the forward/backward buttons though. I find myself man-handling other mice thinking they too have those neat, little buttons. The mouse has a really good response to movement as well. I've used it for gaming as well, though I admit I'm not a hardcore gamer. I really recommend this mouse. I can't imagine spending more money and getting a remarkably better mouse than this one.

2-0 out of 5 stars Carpal Tunnel is setting in...
Wow, I think I developed Carpal Tunnel in less than 2-days with the MX310.Outside of that, I think with the new SetPoint software installed (over MouseWare) it's a good mouse...especially for $20.But, mine will be going back because it is very rough on the wrist.I've got a gel mouse pad with wrist support and I even tried the MX310 without the pad...no luck, still rough on the wrist.

The Microsoft Business Hardware Pack is an excellent value for a keyboard and mouse set. A month ago I ordered 4 units for my small business. They've worked without any problems on our Macs. The software seems to function well and allows for all the additional keys and mouse buttons to be properly configured. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a keyboard and mouse set, including home users.

3-0 out of 5 stars I have to agree with the previous reviewer
The keys are too close together!! I like the media keys but the regular keys for typing are awful. I wish I had not gone with this one. I should have bought the HP Media Keyboard. Shallow keys and too close together make for lots of typos!! Good thing I only paid $14 for it, or I would have been more upset.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great!
This keyboard is great. It has very comfortable typing positions, and the special function keys are also great!

5-0 out of 5 stars Outstanding Wireless Mouse With Bluetooth Convenience
One year ago I purchased this mouse for use with my PowerBook G4, and I have to say it's one of the best computer peripherals I've ever owned. For starters, Apple has done an excellent job on the mouse's simple yet elegant design, which complements the look of my PowerBook. The optical eye that detects movement has been very reliable on a number of surfaces. The mouse is a joy to travel with, since a sliding cover on the bottom shuts the mouse off while at the same time protecting the optical eye. A two level tension adjustment system allows you determine how much pressure you actually need to put on the mouse to make it click. This is a great feature that I've only seen about on this type of mouse.
2-0 out of 5 stars Only one button, slow response
I just got one from J&R one week ago and have been trying it since then. I totally agree with those negative comments. The mouse looks great, but that's the only merit worth mentioning. One button, slow response would bother you all the time especially you are a guy just swithed from PC. I returned it to J&R. BTW, J&R refused to refund me with cash but store credit instead and told me this is what their return policy is. Disappointed again! I would say this is a total failure for Apple's mice designing section. So I suggest trying the newly released Apple Mighty Wireless Mouse (released on 7/25/06). It seems this new one has everything you need.

4-0 out of 5 stars Poor connection time, but smooth working
The major problem with this mouse is that it often takes a long time to connect with bluetooth.I know this is not my computer since my keyboard does not have this problem.Once the mouse is set up, however, it works smoothly and the wireless feature makes it superior to other mice I've used.I do not use the mouse on a daily bases, but only when I'll neet to do a lot of manipulation or editing on my computer and have never had any problems once connected.Overall, I feel this product was worth my investment. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Good but ....
I would have given it a 5 star if the keyboard can lay down
4-0 out of 5 stars Not perfect, but one of the best mini-keyboards I've seen.
If you use the "Windows" key on your keyboard, then this is probably the mini-keyboard you want.SIIG makes one that is decent but doesn't have the key.Adesso makes other keyboards like this one, and which one works best for you you probably depends on what keys you need and where.Look at the bottom row, look a the "Enter" key, there will be variations from what you may be used to.After using this keyboard at work, I bought one for home.Sure, it doesn't have the normal numeric keys, but I reach for the mouse a lot more often than I reach for those, and it is considerably closer now.I recommend this keyboard.

4-0 out of 5 stars Nice low profile, narrow width.
I hate wide keyboards with a number pad. They force me to reach too far for the mouse. This keyboard minimizes the distance between home row typing position and my mouse. It also lies very flat, so my wrists don't have to bend upwards. The Fn key does not duplicate the functionality of my IBM laptop Fn key. Also with my laptop, it seems Numlock and Fn are both needed to enable this keyboard's number pad, but I don't plan to ever use that feature anyway.Occasionally I bump the Fn key in the corner which causes some of the number pad keys to not work, but another press toggles things back to normal.I might pop the case open and tape over the Fn key.If you install the provided software, you get some bonus keys along the top. Some people might not like the feel or size of this keyboard, but it works for me. ... I am typing this review on my new kensington pilotboard. it is a very nice keyboard, and I love it. the forward/back buttons next to the mouse wheel are very nice, and incredibly useful! (I hate having to go up to the top of my browser to go back) a wonderful keyboard.

1-0 out of 5 stars Awful!!
In the past, I've always used Logitech trackballs.I should have gone with my instinct and purchased the Logitech Optical Marble Mouse that I originally looked at. However, I did not listen to my gut and I decided to go with this Kensington trackball instead, because it had the one thing the Logitech did not:a scroll wheel. Big mistake.
2-0 out of 5 stars good for 3 weeks until it broke (2 items, same part broke)
I bought two of these at the same time - one for work, one for home.Within 3 weeks, the same bearing ball on both items broke!(from a top down view, it was the white bearing that is closest to the mouse wheel and on the right side)Also, the mouse itself got very dirty internally very quickly....i soon found myself whishing for my old optical trackball......I returned both of the turbo balls since they were defective.

1-0 out of 5 stars Way Too Large

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Shape for Mouse EVER
First of all, I'd like to begin by saying that I've used almost all the mice out there. From the $60 Logitech G5 (supposed to be the most advanced mouse out there) and the $70 Razor Copperhead and I have to say, none whatsoever, can matchup to the legendary balled intellimouse series.
5-0 out of 5 stars it just feels right
what happens to Microsoft making all those new mice... the new ones don't fit the palm as nicely as the old one...
5-0 out of 5 stars A Mouse for the People!
In the theme of Volkswagen (meaning, "people's car") this is the mouse that started it all. It's still the best and even a little better because this same mouse went through the halls of engineering dozens of times since its inception.
