1-0 out of 5 stars DO NOT BUY BROTHER 2070N IF YOU NEED A NETWORK PRINTER
This company (Brother) is totally ignorant on networking. They have based networks on "AUTOIP" which is irrelevant to office and home networking. Therefore, it does not configure on regular DHCP configuration.
5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent
good quality and design. very easy to setup with network. you can not misschance to get this last printer for less $100.

4-0 out of 5 stars Quite Nice
I purchased this laser printer because it has Network capabilities at low cost.It is very fast.I have an older much more expensive HP laser and the start up time to print is much slower than this model.Of course that probably has something to do with age (3 yrs old).

3-0 out of 5 stars Quality prints but pages curl
The print quality is really nice (I have only used it to print text), but the pages curl no matter how thick or thin the paper.I've used cheap copy paper and expensive 30-pound resume paper, all with equal curling.
4-0 out of 5 stars Great printer, great price.
Just got it today, took 2 minutes to set up. I plugged it into my Airport Express and was printing wirelessly immediately. Ran a few tests and the text is very clear and clean.
5-0 out of 5 stars Great Printer for the Price !!
I bought this printer mainly for my High School daughter. It fits nicely in the small area I had open for it. I had it set up and printing in about 5 minutes. It came with the toner cartridge and I purchased the USB cable for $5.00. So far, it works great. Quick printing and very crisp. The paper did curl, but ever so slightly... once I left my document sitting for a little while it flattened itself out.

5-0 out of 5 stars After thorough research, I bought three of them
I meticulously researched available printers. I wanted a laser for quality printing without worrying about dried out ink cartridges when I didn't print anything for a long time. I wanted duplex printing to save paper. I didn't even know this printer could print multiple pages on a sheet until after I set it up. That was a welcome bonus! I wanted something to produce quality graphics and photo print-outs, not too expensive to purchase or to maintain, with low cost per page / toner use. I got it all.
5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Duplex Printer
I was originally going to purchase an HP LaserJet, but due to it being out of stock, I opted to order this printer. I have to say I am glad I did. My first impression was that it reminded me of my old Samsung QwikLaser, but the print quality and machine quality exceeds what I had expected for $250. My main reason for purchasing this machine was to print duplex technical reports, which my HP Color LaserJet can't do (can't print duplex), and toner for that machine is exponentially more. I have read that the print cost for this machine is about $0.02 a page, which is good in comparison to others costs, and I do not see any "chip" in this toner cartridge, as most new lasers have.
5-0 out of 5 stars Network issues for this printer solved.
I had the same network issues some other posters mentioned. I decided to solve it myself. The exact symptoms were that after a long period of inactivity, print jobs over the network could not wake up the printer. I ran a network sniffer to determine what was going on. I noticed that my laptop was requesting a name resolution for the printer (name to I.P. address mapping)using NetBIOS broadcasts. Since my network does not have a NetBIOS domain controller or a host to reply to that query, the client (laptop's) queries went unanswered and the printer never even knew that someone was trying to send it a print job. This is a software/network configuration issue that will be specific to some setups, and not necessarily a product bug- so you may or may not be affected by it, depending on your network.

2-0 out of 5 stars Crops pictures severely!
This unit is easy to use and makes great looking prints however as my wife found out after her first weekend trip with it, it crops off the top and bottom of the picture file.I bought her the package which included the Canon 520 camera and this printer. She printed out pictures of people and found the tops of heads cutoff. The reason is the proportions of the sensor on the camera are more square than4x6 so the printer just cuts off the top and bottom of the digital picture file.No warning in the manual, no way to print the full picture file on a 4x6 paper by leaving space at the ends.Nice work Canon!

5-0 out of 5 stars Cheap, easy, small, nice photos!
This is a great printer for people who want something inexpensive and easy to use.You can be printing within 15 minutes after opening the box!The printer is small and lightweight and could be easily carried in a camera bag.Photos produced are very nice!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great little printer
For the price I paid, $25, this is a great little printer. We've had tons of printers...my husband is a professional photographer and these prints satisfy even him (for our family pics). We got this printer mainly because I'm tired of our digital camera and the pics being buried in a photo program.I'd even yearned for a good old 35mm film camera until we got this little printer. It's

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Little Printer
I have been very impressed by this printer for the price. It zips through pages and looksa lot better than the Brother and Samsung purchased by our office.I am using it on Mac OS 10.4.7 & 10.3.9, but installations at the office in 2 Dell XP Pro PCs went without a hitch. The noise level strikes me as pretty quiet, especially compared to the old HP LJs that I used to support.
5-0 out of 5 stars Works great, even XP x64 support
I have had great experience with this printer.I even bought a jet direct card for it, and and it works great.I recently installed XP 64-bit only to find there were no drivers for this printer supported. However, I used the HP4L driver and it works good enough for my purposes.

5-0 out of 5 stars Works for me...
...and I do mean it works. I'm planning to buy this printer for my home PC because I've been using this model daily at work for about 10 weeks. I print a high volume at work - approximately 1/2 a ream of paper every day over a 9-10 hour period. I use an entire toner cartridge about every 10 working days. The HP Laserjet 1022 has been a champ, printing mainly on standard printer stock, but also various Avery 8.5x11 label sheets - with multiple runs thru the printer, the occasional envelope, and some two-sided pages as well. The prints are uniformly crisp and clean until the toner begins to run out; by removing and shaking the cartridge, then re-inserting it, i've been able to get an extra day's printing out of each cartridge, roughly another 100-200 sheets. And it prints so fast!

4-0 out of 5 stars Great value - dump your inkjet and save money per page
Went out and got one of these from Staples (an Amazon partner ahem) on special for ninety nine bucks. For that, it's a great deal. I use it on my computer running Ubuntu Linux (Dapper Drake 6.02) and it works great. Had to figure out how to use foo2zjs (foo2zjs dot rkkda dot com has the perfect workable answer to installation...I donated a few dollars for the help), but once you follow the instructions and load that all-important firmware, you are in business, even allowing you to set the printer to toner-saver mode, etc.
1-0 out of 5 stars Horrible service when the product doesn't work
I must have got a lemon, because all the googling in the world doesn't help me with my problem. My printer goes to sleep mode and never wakes up, even after a cold restart (I'm using WinXP Pro SP2).Print jobs live indefinitely in the spooler and half the time need to be removed by restarting the spooler service. No one else seems to have the problem. However in debugging the issue, I've had to go through 4 online chat sessions with HP, totalling almost 6 hours, each session being less useful than the previous.I've tried different USB cables, different hubs, different ports, different drivers, and different computers.I've tried printing directly, bypassing the spooler, and various print processor options. All at their recommendation and assurance that it would fix the problem (they must have scripted responses they copy/paste into the chat because all the English and grammar is consistently bad).
5-0 out of 5 stars Outstanding value printer!
Bought this model today. Light, compact and blazing fast, with razorsharp text/images and dense opaque blacks. I got it to print my black line artwork illustrations and occasional text. I compared it to the comparably priced Brother models, and chose the HP for one reason; the drum is part of the toner cartridge versus the Brother, which requires their separate drum part replaced after 10,000 prints. The Brother drum is pricey, costing more than the printer. So I went with the HP with its 10 dollar higher cartridge, but no prospect of expensive drum replacement.

5-0 out of 5 stars best prints I have ever seen
Easy install, no need to install any overbloated software. Great printouts on glossy and matt photo paper. Read the Manual on solving color managment problems if you use Photoshop CS2 so that what you see on the monitor is what you get. If you use Photoshop Elements it has a setting just for the epson R1800. Prints beautifull lables on TDK matt white DVD's with the included software. you can use nero's label making software but you must set the paper type to (epson stylus photo R800 A4) so that it is centered on the disk. All in all the best wide format photo printer I have seen .

2-0 out of 5 stars Mac Users Beware!
This printer does not print tiled documents from either Indesign or Illustrator. It also is very hard to set the page set up for the printer because the driver written for this printer conflicts with the settings in the print dialog box of the software. I have seen this happen in both Illustrator and Indesign. Very frustrating. I called Epson about this, they told me to call Adobe who told me to call Epson. I'm really sorry I remained loyal to Epson and didn't opt for the Canon.

5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing printer for photos or art!
I first saw this printer in action when I saw someone turn a digital photo into a digital painting using Corel Painter (seeing the results from that software product, Painter, is what made me start looking at Corel software products for photos) and then printed it out on matte paper. Wow!!! Very impressive! The water color paints were amazing and the colors printed out were so vibrant and realistic, that I had to get this Epson Photo R1800 printer.

5-0 out of 5 stars A good economical choice
This is a quick, quiet machine, and so far it works for me. A relatively new model, I was told it was the replacement for the1020, but I'm not sure that's the case. In any event, it is extremely simple to set up and operate, and it doesn't take up much space. It's a big improvement over my inkjet, an HP deskjet 960c. I figure my cost is about 5 cents a page. So far, highly recommended.

I just bought this at my local store. It prints great pictures...it so easy to set up.Most of the comments below I agree with.I'll leave it to that!!

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the best gifts I've ever received
I received the printer as a Xmas gift from my mother and brother in 2005. I love love love this photo printer.I was blown away by the print quality when I saw the very first picture that I printed. They look like they were developed in a photo lab. I've printed more than 300 photos and the quality of the print is the same as the very first picture.I love all the features of the printer especially the Disney borders.Since the printer is portable and does not require a PC, I have taken it to special events and printed photos to give to friends and family. Most of them have also been amazed at the quality of the photos. No more photo labs for me.I would highly recommend this printer to anyone and everyone.

2-0 out of 5 stars Great Pictures - Poor Hardware Quality
I purchased this printer 10 months ago after reading the reviews which all seemed great.I've always been an HP fan.

3-0 out of 5 stars Problem with Borders
This printer literally sits on the same shelf as an Epson 3810 and Canon ip6600D.I also have a Epson RX500 somewhere else. So, I'm making direct comparisons here.
2-0 out of 5 stars Dismal service
Had to return replacement unit as it was clear it was dropped in shipping and would not feed paper. After many hours running tests and sitting on the phone they agreed to send a 2nd replacement. One area of disappointment was that the number to call for a UPS pickup was for a phone service call-girl. I tried to explain this to HP to no avail. All in all I found the experience disappointing.

2-0 out of 5 stars Poor Reliability
While I agree the photo quality is outstanding with this printer, mine failed after fewer than a dozen uses. The photo tray stopped feeding 4x6 paper, even after spending $25 on an HP paper feed cleaner designed for this model. To make matters worse, the replacement offer from HP is slightly worse than buying a brand-new HP 8250 printer direct from Amazon. On the plus side, HP customer service was extremely patient while I hunted for my misplaced receipt to prove warranty eligibility (which I couldn't). Ouch! UPDATE: The next day I finally located my receipt, but the 1-year warranty had expired by 10 days. HP would not honor the elapsed warranty and charged me the full replacement amount ($99) for another printer. Pretty chintzy. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent - very happy
After reading reviews here I hesitated but happened to see the same machine (but without duplex capability) at a work site and that clinched it for me.
2-0 out of 5 stars Watch Out for Power Consumption
Great Printer with lots of neat features.HOWEVER, the printer uses 1024 WATTS or 9.1 Amps when it powers up to print a page or make a copy. This has caused me alot of problems.
4-0 out of 5 stars Fatal Flaw
I have had several Brother MFC's throughout the years. All of them have had a by-pass where one could feed either an envelope or a sheet of labels through the front of the machine, open a door in the back of the machine and then print with a straight paper path so the envelope doesn't get rinkled and the labels don't start to come off the carrier sheet, which is especially important if one uses Stamp.com's labels where the same sheet of labels may be printed on up to 10 or more times as one uses up the each label. Other than the foregoing DESIGN FLAW, its a good machine but for me, this is a FATAL FLAW so I took it back to Office Depot. It was interesting to get the reaction of a couple of techs at Brother as they too couldn't believe the engineers forgot this critical function! I will just have to be satisfied with my MFC-8440 until they come out with a new 30 page per minute duplexing machine with the old by-pass capability. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars So far so good
Past experience and reviews here have me wary of the quality control on Samsung laser printers, but I bought the ML-2010 anyway because it was cheap. My misgivings continued when I unpacked the printer - the front swing-down panels are really flimsy (an extra penny or two on thicker plastic would have helped) and the design of the paper tray is not good - it works OK, but loading paper is unnecessarily clumsy because you have to bend the stack of paper paper so it fits over the paper stop when loading. No problem once you're used to it, but an unnecessary pain.OTOH, getting this printer set up to run in Windows XP was child's play; Samsung's Windows installation software is as good as it gets.
1-0 out of 5 stars Just Plain Cheesy!
Puchased this printer recently since it is networkable and I wanted to replace my old Brother printer.
5-0 out of 5 stars Great performing, great value laster printer.
The thing that confuses me about some of these reviews is that people are disappointed that this printer doesn't do some stuff that it's really not designed nor meant to do. If you want the bells and whistles of a $500 printer, buy a $500 printer.

5-0 out of 5 stars Terrific Printer for the Money; Handles the Basics Well
I also did plenty of research and bottom line ... I was looking for a multi-function (printer, fax, copy, scan) that did wireless out of the box without any added print server hardware and so forth. I purchased it for slightly over $200 from Amazon. This unit worked great out of the box. The wireless config was a breeze and the color screen made configuration especially easy. It prints well, copies well, and the software for the PC seems to work nicely and simply. This is not a top of the line multi-function ... but if you need quick and easy wireless printing, decent print quality, and don't print huge volume ... this is a nice choice.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic
I am an amateur photograper at best (new to digital cameras). My photo composition is a little bit better than a snap and shoot type person.I have a desire to get better.I have two types of digital software for processing digital pictures but lacked a good printer.I purchased the Photosmart 8750 from Amazon and when I got it, I hooked it up and loaded the software onto my computer without any hassles and prepared for my very first photo.I was bowled over with the professional looking print that came out.I have since learned some new color management techniques on this printer and that same photograph now looks like a contest winner.Don't even think twice about this printer. It is fantastic. This amateur now looks like a PRO.

5-0 out of 5 stars great printer but HP is not up front as usual
I've been using this as a commercial printer now for about 3 months doing prototype and photo prints in 13x19 and 8.5x11 formats on moab paper for final prints and hp paper for proofs (we use hp paper as low cost scrap due to its low detail).
5-0 out of 5 stars HP has a winner
The 8750 was easy to set up, the software loaded easily and the first test page was perfect. The color management works very well. The printer produces fine detail, wonderful colors, and the best black and white inkjet prints I have ever seen, especialy on fine art papers. The printer is slower than some of its compeiters and uses more ink, but the color saturation is higher. It dose have oneglitch, every time I turn on my computer it prints 3 pages, each with one line showing the USB ports. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Expensive without networking capability
I researched quite a few personal laser printers and opted for the HP 1320 after looking really hard at the Samsungs and Brother models that were highly rated. My last HP 5L was a piece of crap, with paper jams the minute I cranked it out of the box. This one at least does what I need.Relatively fast 22ppm, print quality is outstanding and relatively compact. No networking if you need that.Shop around as the prices can vary substantially from retailer to retailer.

5-0 out of 5 stars Computer Geek
Absolutely one of the best printers around, especially for the price!EVERYTHING works unlike some of the comments in the other reviews.I've had no problems in any respect. And it's fast.I wish that I had purchased the 1320 sooner because it's a winner!Recommend it without reservation.

5-0 out of 5 stars Solid Reliable Printer
For the capabilities, this printer is reasonably priced.

1-0 out of 5 stars The Ferrari of Printers
One star for the Ferrari of Printers?Yep, it's capable of amazing print quality as long as you use Epson's most expensive paper and ink, you have infinite patience, and you are intimately familiar with the difference between ICC, ICM, sRGB versus ARGB, and of course the various Gamma options you must select for each print.Being a Ferrari, I just printed some pictures for my Mom and I had to reload the (expensive) Epson paper no less than 13 times to get the one print I needed. For me, it's much less of trial to upload pictures to an online service for great quality pictures, than it is to buy ink at $130 a pop and spend an afternoon screaming at my printer, which by the way thinks that human flesh is actually orange tinted. Before you buy this printer, you should really try an online print service-or even a custom lab.I did get a great quality print on the fourteenth try, thanks mostly to Qimage.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best printer I've ever had
I was working on a new art show - I needed to get prints in black and white, on high-gloss paper.Every Pinter I tried had imperfections on the black.I looked around and found this printer, and thought I'd give it a go - VERY glad I did.The black is almost silky - if you print on Epson archival paper, it utterly perfect - even under a magnifying glass, large areas of back are consistent and unbroken. And the show was a hit, thanks to the printed quality of the prints were!
4-0 out of 5 stars Great Home Photoprinter - Ink Costs are Significant
I've had this printer for one year.I don't know how many prints I've made, but certainly hundreds.Everything from 4x6s to 8x12s (on specially cut paper - works like a charm).

3-0 out of 5 stars Okay, but touchy
This is an acceptable printer, but one must be very, very careful about loading the paper. If you push too hard, you get paper jams. And don't try to load more paper, should you run out, during a printing.More paper jams.I've had quite a bit of trouble.
5-0 out of 5 stars A dandy little printer
I was in the market for a new inkjet and finally settled on this printer. The photo output is awesome and it's very fast!
4-0 out of 5 stars Performs beautifully
Just received this as a bundle with the HP407 digital camera for about $120.00.The printer is great!Prints good quality, fairly quickly and doesn't burn through the ink.Haven't connected to my computer, as I'm using the printer as a stand-alone portable.I have an HP multifuntion & don't want to risk a software error by connecting a second HP product.

4-0 out of 5 stars Gorgeous photo prints, fun touch screen. Great Mac OS X support. Print from iPods!
This printer produces drop dead gorgeous photos when using HP Premium Photo paper. They are practically dripping with glossy eye popping color!Text is also sharp and crisp. Normal copier paper is passable, but buying the special HP paper really makes a noticable improvement.(personal plug: you can buy paper and inkjet from HP's website with free overnight shipping with no minimum purchase!)
4-0 out of 5 stars Great printer, full featured. No Server OS support
I was deciding between this printer and a few others that were older models while at a popular brick and mortar store. The tipping point for this model was the speed of prints, ease of printing 4x6 photo's "stand alone", as well as the innovative LCD touch screen. The ease of use factor is very high, which means the rest of my family should be able to figure it out and print the millions of photos that we have had sitting on the computer for the last 3 years. I am a long time buyer of HP products- this is my 3rd HP printer.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great printer/interesting printer driver...
I replaced an ancient HP printer and this puppy certainly pumps the pages out!The printer driver has some interesting multi-page options (shrinking pages to fit on a single page and also expanding pages to fit on multiple pages). That said, I'm not too sure of the usefulness of such options.Very happy with this printer!

4-0 out of 5 stars Solid Performer
Ergonomic design and small footprint make this relatively quick monochromatic Laser printer a good buy especially if you get the rebate which can bring the price down to around $169. I'm a satisfied customer and recommend this for personal and small office use without reservation

4-0 out of 5 stars An excellent low cost high-speed laser printer
After a couple of weeks of use, this printer exceeds my expectations. It is a truly an excellent low cost high-speed laser printer. The quality of printing is superb. My only negative is the high wattage of electricity that it draws when it awakes from the sleep mode. Each time it awakes,it causes my battery backup to beep. ...
