I was about to purchase the Kensington 33062 (released in 2003) since the customer reviews were well above average and I knew the brand was pretty reliable. I called Circuit City for a price check, and if they had any special deals. Fortuntately the Representative informed me they were out of stock (discontinued item) but kensington's newest remote was available.

Great buy for any reason!
I used to buy those cheap $[...] red laser pointers at gun shows and flea markets, just to have some fun, but the batteries didn't last long enough and the beam wasn't bright at all, not to mention that it made more of an oval dot than round.I bought this one thinking that it would be really cool because it was green.I thought the high price tag was pushing it just for a little green dot, but it is much more than I thought it would be.The beam is clearly visible in the dark and you can even see the dot on the blackest street in the middle of a sunny day.The range is incredible and makes street signs reflect hreen shimmers!I love it!A much better buy than those crappy red ones, and the AAA batteries are easy to replace and last much longer!

great laser pointer, but not for kids
Before I say anything else, let me say that this is not for kids.I would not recommend to anybody that they let a kid handle one of these, unless under strict supervision.
MUCH brighter than a red pointer!
I ordered this laser mainly for star parties and because I had heard that green lasers were so much brighter than red ones, it's VERY true! This laser puts all my other pointers to shame. The dot is clearly visible in bright sunlight on buildings as far as a mile away and the beam is very visible in the night sky. Works very well, burns batteries
If you want a simple, straightforward presenter to click through Powerpoint slides, this one works very well.I bought it at Staples after my old presenter died.Installation is very simple, completely plug and play, and it worked right away. Buttons for advancing slides, for going backward, blanking screen, for the laser pointer, and another I haven't used so I can't remember what it is for. I have not tried to use it for anything besides Powerpoint, on a Windows XP laptop. I use it for large lecture classes, where I want to control when I change the slide, so it doesn't matter that there is no timer.Laser works fine.Takes 1 AAA battery, so it's easy to replace.The big problem, though, is that you'll be replacing the battery a lot.One week after classes started, I've replaced the battery once already, and I'm about to replace it again.Part of the problem is that I keep forgetting to turn off the on/off switch at the side, which is very inconspicuous; but also there is no battery indicator, and, really, it just burns batteries pretty fast. Works perfectly, every time
I've used this device on several presentations, and on several different computers.It consists of a USB dongle and a remote.It has a narrow purpose -- control power-point presentations wirelessly.It works perfectly.The 50' range was tested only over 25', with no effect at the longer distances.
Conflict
This definitely does not have Laser pointer and Single button Black screen option. For some reason users have put wrong information leading us to by this product.
WELL WORTH THE MONEY
Very good product for the price, Easy to use - plug and play. It did, however, over ride the driver for the remote that came with my Dell multi projector and it took IT a long time to restore those drivers. I plan to use it only on my laptop that I will take on the road with me. ... Read more

Great poduct
I love this thing it can be used with either hand. It makes using my lap topso easu I can't workwithout it. It as great range and fits my and like it was made for it.

Best I ever Used.
This mouse has the scroll ball,USB, and lazar pointer. I teach in large halls and it has no problem going the distance. Only con is you need a small screwdriver to change the battery. Other than that, It truly is one of a kind. I have used in it in over 100 computers and it always works.
Great idea, but...
It is an excellent device for power point presentations... But after ONE MONTH of use, it did not want to work anymore. Only the laser still works, but, who wants that huge pointer without the mouse...?

Painless and perfect for me
My remote needs are simple.I want to be able to move my powerpoint presentations forward or backward one slide at a time.And I want a laser pointer to call attention to features on a slide if I choose.Voila!The Atek device does all this painlessly and well.Of course it can do a lot more, but truthfully, I'm just not interested.So I plug the little antenna stick into a USB port on my laptop and I'm ready to go.The remote fits in a pocket or I carry it in my hand or I set it on a table.When I'm ready, a touch causes the slide to do what I want from anywhere in the room.I use the laser less than I thought I would, but it has been nice to have when I've wanted it.I'm completely satisfied.

This item is great for presentations.It is user friendly and easy to install.The mobility of the remote will allow you to deliver PowerPoint presentations with ease.The instructions are easy to understand.I wish I had this item while in graduate school.I would recommend this item to anyone interested in purchasing a presentaion remote.

Cool
I have a different laser pointer than this one. But I cant seem to find anything that resembles mine. My laser comes with 4 extra heads witch feature: a lady in a dress.(?) A UFO looking thing, some dude that looks like a clown or the gingerbread man or something, and a bunch of swirly lines. this thing is really cool and I got it at the Butler Fair. It came with all that I have mentioned for only 2 dollars! Thats a bargain! I really want everyone to have this awesome product.

Inconsistent quality
I just bought three laser pointers from two different sources through Amazon, and the quality is not the same. Two from performancepda_com were ok ($14.95) and one place that did not come with 42 head which cost <$9.50 was useless. Terrible quality of the laser beam. Cannot see far at all and the beam was narrow. Overall, very poor quality for presentation purpose. If you use for fun, then it is ok.

Look elsewhere!
I purchased this laser level online, partly due to it's good price and to use around the house.. Quality Control is Poor!
I purchased this item in hopes of using the dot or line laser for some handyman work I have to do. Upon receipt I encountered problems with getting the laser to work. After trying two different pairs of tested triple AAA batteries I gave up. Another problem I encountered was the batteries did not come out of the level very easy. I had to use needle nose pliers to remove them as well as tap the level rather vigorously to get the batteries to even move. Rather odd as this is a fragile electronic device based on the product literature. I have never encountered this before. It should have been a simple unscrew the battery cap and turn the level face down and bingo, the batteries drop out. My recommendation is to spend the additional dollars and get a professional quality laser level. As a bubble level it is fine. As a laser level it is of poor quality. What good is it if it doesn't work. Also, if I have to fight with the product to remove the batteries it is not of very good quality! I say, stay away from purchasing this item. I plan on purchasing a name brand, working, quality tested laser level. I don't want to have to go through this frustration again.

Shine on!
My buddy cousinpaco used to have a Clearline CL2001 Pen Shaped Laser, a red laser pointer that was designed for amateurs.He kept trying to get me to buy one, but I told him that I was waiting until a more powerful laser pointer was available to meet my needs.He doubted that a more powerful laser would ever exist, but my patience paid off.
Not very durable
I purchased one of these just shy of three years ago (Feb 2003). I have taken very good care of it (it stays in a pocket in my briefcase when not in use) and used it several times a week while I teach. Over time, the silver finish wore off around the "on" button (apparently from perspiration from my hand), exposing the copper underneath. Last week, the button froze in the "on" position, so it is now effectively useless. The laser diode still works, however.
Not all are the same
I have purchased 3 of these laser pointers, the first 2 where ok, but the third one even though it was supposed to be stronger than the other 2 came with a defect and is far less powerful, the dot allso has a halo around it where i think the power is going, i dont know why these is but was a little dissapointed with these third laser. ... For the money, you just can't beat it.Even at a higher price it is worth it.
Does not work in Presentation View.
Yeah, they claim this thing works with MS Powerpoint. But what they do not tell you is that it only works with PART of Powerpoint. It only works in Slide Mode. It does NOT work in Presentation View mode. Of course, most of my presentations are run in Presentation View mode.
