3-0 out of 5 stars 18 months later...
Bought the Canon i560 in the summer of 2004.was sold on the individually replacable cartridges, after having spent/wasted so much $$$ on the all-in-one cartridges of my previous printer.HOWEVER, I have found (and I guess I do alot of printing, both colour and b/w) that I need to change the cartridges ALOT.
5-0 out of 5 stars Best printer
This was my best purchase so far. The printer is fast and very quiet. Ink consumption is low and color are bright.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Printer! Will probably keep using this one until it breaks!
I've had this printer for well over a year now, and it's fantastic! No problems at all.It prints photo quality prints right to the edge of 8.5x11" paper. It uses the Pictbridge technology that lets you hook many modern digital cameras directly into it, so you don't actually need a computer to use this printer (but nothing beats having a computer to store and edit your digital photos!)The printer has four separate ink cartridges, which are replaceable with cartridges found at your local Staples and Wal-Mart store for a fairly decent price. The printer also prints good quality text quite quickly.Photos take a little bit to print, but not to long.

5-0 out of 5 stars Thought I would upgrade, but nothing beat my i455
I bought this printer with a Canon digital camera in an inexpensive bundle.I quickly outgrew the camera, so I figured I had to upgrade my printer as well.I tried a few other printers which were highly touted by the imaging gurus, but they didn't do any better than this one. I don't know how much I would have to spend to beat my i455.
1-0 out of 5 stars Mine's worthless
In a year I haven't managed to convince it to print a dozenpages for me.I've repeated contacted Canon about it's problems looking for help but they just try to sell me more stuff. With very solid Canon name I'm very diappointed with this.

3-0 out of 5 stars Planned Obsolescence
As a road warrior, I bought the i70 to replace my old Canon BJC-85, and to use with my Powerbook G4. On the plus side, it is fast and prints reasoably good text, and very good photos if you use photo paper. The black ink tank could be bigger, but that is a minor issue. It is the smallest printer of its type that I have seen.
5-0 out of 5 stars Small & Convenient
I had this printer for about a year and had no complaints whatsoever. Ink can get a bit pricey but there's always Cartridge World who will refill both tanks for $18. I am on the road a lot and the size is extremely convenient, put it in your bag, get it out in the hotel, and boom, you got yourself a small office. Highly recommended. Hint: It's quite sensitive so don't put it in a bag that you'll check @ the airport. I did that for the 1st time last week, and when I plugged it I had an "out of paper" error even tough the tray was full. Through some research I found out that through bag checkout they had bent a piece that senses for paper, so I just bent it back and the problem was gone!

3-0 out of 5 stars Great Quality but wastes a ton of Ink
I have had this little baby for over 1 year now and have no complaints what so ever about the print quality.

1-0 out of 5 stars Very disappointing and not sturdy at all
I purchased the Canon I80 printer as I wanted a small portable unit for training and conference events. The unit has broken down multiple times, the heads dry out and get clogged all the time and every time I turn around something else goes wrong...I purchased the unit for $250 and have spent as much keeping it going and only used it 12 times. It has now failed again and they want another $240 to fix it.Really a waste of money.I would not buy this product again.

1-0 out of 5 stars Printer Heads Dry Out
I agree wholeheartedly with Mark Page-Botelho's review. This printer is not for regular use.I had the same problem with the black print head drying out.The available maintenence functions have not been helpful, and the Canon service reps advice similarly has lead to a lot of wasted time and frustration, along with a lot of wasted ink and paper from doing cleaning and testing repeatedly.

1-0 out of 5 stars Canon i80 Is it worth it?
We've used this printer a little over one year and loved it. Unfortunately, now it is plagued with problems. First of all the print head is extremely sensitive to drying out and is very difficult to impossible to clean using the printer's clean function or doing it manually. Canon offers a replacement head for $65. Next the ink cleaning reservoir with normal use will fill up in about a year. To replace it will cost $120 and is only available through Canon. The print does travel well which is its intended use, but for an everyday printer you might want to look elsewhere. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars FAST, INEXPENSIVE PRINTER, but PROBLEMS WITH CARTRIDGE REFILL
I've had this printer for over a year now, and I was impressed with it for the first month - until the ink ran out.The printer was "ok" on ink consumption - I've had better, but also had worse. My biggest problem was the inability to refill the cartridges.I've refilled carts for a long time now on many, many different printers - Epson, HP, Canon, Lexmark, etc. and usually Lexmark was truly the easiest. But with this fella, the cartridge was easy to refill as usual, but no matter what I did - it would print with lines through black print.I had no problems with color, just with black.I've read that others have also had the same problem.I'm not sure what went wrong...Otherwise, it's a great printer.Prints fast - like 22ppm black and 15ppm color. Now I usually set things at higher quality, so haven't had these numbers, but still were good. And I got a super deal on this when I purchased it - like $35 after shipping.. I couldn't complain about anything with that price - much less than it would cost to just get replacement cartridges.Overall, it's a great printer - but be ready to buy more ink.Side note: I just purchased the Canon MP500 all in one printer - and it is amazing.
5-0 out of 5 stars Superior Low Cost Printer for High Speed Black Printing and Color Photos
I thought that I had lost this printer for good, but I brought it back to life.I use this printer everyday all the time for high, speed black text printing in the quick mode and it delivers.I refill the black cartridge, so I know that I am taking my chances with the print heads eventually not cooperating, but turns out this time at least it was the cartridge and not the printer that stopped working. If you are looking for a reasonably priced, fast printer for both good black text and photo capabilities, look no further. The photos that I have printed (and those I have done sparingly since I normally use snapfish for ordering photos) have been excellent on photo paper.I have not as of yet refilled the color cartridge because if not done right (as I've learned in the past), you can end up with muddy, off colors - expecially skin tones. But if you print lots of black and white (sometimes up to 500 pages in a week), you will be pleased with this printer. To refill your cartridges, go to atlantic inkjet for bulk ink, installation tools and instructions.Just realize that eventually you will need to buy new cartridges, but that's after many refills. Don't let the high cost of inkjet printing get you down! And I also want to emphasize that I generally opt for the quick mode and the blacks are still rich and true, not gray as in draft modes from other printers. (...)If you can get this for less than the regular average selling price, then it's well worth buying.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Printer
This printer was one of the best "basic" printers I have ever owned. It is very speedy and has great quality, it is a snap to install and tells you how much ink is left and all of the things you need to know before it is to late. This printer is great if you need to print anything, but of course for the price, it does not have a scanner or anything but is a great photo printer. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Sorry I Bought this Printer
I bought a 1200dtwn in January. My previous printer was an HP 990Cse that never gave me any trouble and still works beautifully. The only reason I got the 1200 was for the network capability. The 1200dtwn is a "sensitive" and complex machine. For several weeks I have had a problem where the Toolbox ink level display for 2 of the 4 inks shows as zero even though this is not possible. The other 2 inks show reasonable numbers of 74 and 91 percent. The HP support people had me upgrade the printer's firmware to a level that corrected a problem where the ink levels displayed as zero. This firmware upgrade did not solve my problem. In fact after installing the upgrade all 4 inks displayed zero percent ink and when I printed a test document I could hear it printing but nothing appeared on the paper. Fortunately I had come located a 5-step procedure to reset the printer. This is an absurdly complex secret ritual-type of procedure. After resetting the printer I was back to where I was before installing the firmware upgrade, with the Toolbox showing 0 percent for 2 of the inks. I think the firmware upgrade may have corrected the problem I had after an envelope jammed, inside the printer- where all the printer's indicator lights were lit (this condition is not documented) and the printer refused to do anything - it wouldn't even turn off.
5-0 out of 5 stars Quality printer
I had a HP970cxi, simply a great unit that printed photo lab quality pictures from a 1.5 meg camera, great graphic presentations on plain paper and printed business cards (Avery) effectively.I just tried out my new 1200dtwn and its printing quality is equal to the 970.It uses the same color technology,PhotoREt III, that was in the 970.

5-0 out of 5 stars A FAST AND RELIABLE INKJET FOR HIGH VOLUME PRINTS
I work in an engineering firm and we use for our A4 color prints both a color laser ( xerox phaser 6250 ) and the HP 3000.1-0 out of 5 stars POOR POOR Product
I have to say, I have been a loyal HP fan, and I picked this printer to replace my old 2000 model, which I loved. I wanted a HIGH capacity ink machine, that would do color printing without the constant cartridge change of less professional models. This printer (my second one) is nothing but an albatross. It has never worked right from day one. The first one, which was exchanged for this new one, was defective, shook the table apart and never was able to get going. The new one is worse. The on off button does not work until it feels like it, it jams paper, it bands the colors completely missing some spots of color, it is WAY too noisy, it prints in jerking steps and comes out of the machine in jerks, print quality is somewhat grainy, nothing like the quality I have come to expect from HP printers. I have an emergency $29.00 HP models Inkjet 3520 that has FAR superior print ability. Shame on HP! POOR POOR design.I am still awaiting a return for this one! I would recommend you DO NOT get this machine, as it is a dinosaur.

5-0 out of 5 stars I love it.
This printer works great for me.I find the quality is good enough for me to use draft mode for printing fliers. The printer has great print quality (for a non-Photo printer) and is exceptionally fast. There are four separate print cartriges which have remtoe print heads to printing is relatively econominal. One thing to note is that the printer senses when the print cartrige is empty and will stop printing. This isn't a problem for me, but it might be for people tring to refill cartriges or who want to stretch the print cartriges to the end. Also, the printer can get pricey if you purchase bundled with the duplexor and the print server options. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Not Bad, Works Fine for Basic Prints
I don't have high expectations for this type of printer, one that you can put a flash card in and print the photo without a computer. Most often, photos will need some sort of tweaking, of white balance, of color, of something. This little printer does fine with the basics. It has some editing capabilties, not as many as I'd like, but for the price, it's just fine. I wanted the printer to use at some of our fundraising events, to take pictures of people with their dogs, print out a 4x6, give them the print, and go on to the next on-- This will work fine for that, and allow us to run this with only one person, if necessary, since the computer isn't involved. Battery is a huge plus.
1-0 out of 5 stars Does not work out of the box
I am an IT professional (BSIT) and I bought this product because it is rated #1 by Consumer Reports and I own several HP printers that I really enjoy. However, I had the same experience as several other reviewers of this product. This printer simply does not work out of the box. After trying for 1 day I gave up and called HP customer service and they diagnosed the problem as a defective chip in the printer. They wanted to replace the printer with a refurbished one; I refused and threatened to return it back to Amazon. I was placed on hold and then told that I would receive a firmware upgrade via FedEx overnight. If this upgrade does not work I will be forced to return the printer to Amazon.

1-0 out of 5 stars Epscon RX600 Don't buy!
My Epson RX600 LCD went bad within the warranty, Epson replaced it.It went bad AGAIN within the warranty so I requested a different model - EPSON refused and sent me my third RX600.The LCD went bad at 14 months so I am out of luck.DON'T BUY EPSON.

1-0 out of 5 stars Another bad LCD and bad customer service experience
My RX600 LCD went bad after 12 months.Epsonwould not replace or repair it stating it was just a few days beyond the warranty period. They obviously have a serious problem, and I sure wouldn't mind seeing them take some responisbility. After spending $300 for a paperweight and being told by several outsourced Canadian support representatives that I am SOL, I will never sell or purchase another Epson product again.I sure wish someone would setup a class action suit for this issue.

Very good printer with very few notable short comings for the price. Did extensive research before purchasing and found only one issue which may concern others - that is that the pictures will smudge with wet fingers. But you can work around this of course by putting in an album. Also please note that HP no longer sells this product (according to their web site )but did not see that noted at Amazon. Hook up is easy but for some reason the install from CD took 30 minutes on Windows XP -but finally did finish with no issues to note. For the price its worth it ! ... Read more

Offering you portable printing capabilities, the SiPix A6 Pocket Palm Printer connects easily to either PCs or Palm Pilots. While it may not be as fast as your in-office printer, this little gem weighs in at less than 1 pound and churns out documents at 2 ppm with a decent 400 dpi resolution. Overall dimensions are scarcely larger than some wallets (5.8 by 4.25 inches), and the thickness is less than 1 inch. Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars SiPix A6 Portable Printer
This thermal paper uses small rolls to print on - requiring no ink. It's small, lightweight (except with 4 "AA" batteries) and can receive data via its IrDA port OR serial connection. This did not work with my Jornada 680e but did with a iPad 19xx so it may not work with older PDAs (though, it was designed to work with Palms). You *can* use it with a desktop or laptop but you simply cannot install the drivers and "voila!" The properties of the connection between the printer and computer must be manually modified for it to work properly - but when you get it to work, it's perfect. I use it to print receipts and it is absolutely fantastic. I suppose the only "downside" to it is that paper for it is pretty expensive...the starter rolls aren't going to be enough to do much with so plan on looking for CUT or ROLL (preferably) cheap.

1-0 out of 5 stars NO DRIVERS
I was very disapointed by the fact that this printer is not compatible with any palm OS 5 enhanced devices (such as the Zire series, or tungsten sreies) Bummer. So if you have an older handheld with below 3.0 OS or if you have higher than 3.5 it simply won't work! I hope this information helps you.4-0 out of 5 stars SiPix A6 & Dell Axim X5
On impulse I bought the Sipix A6 printer, brand new,(for a mere 19 bucks!) after checking it's compatibility with my invoicing software -Lowfat Invoice. However, I DID NOT check whether there were any known issues with the Dell Axim X5 and I was unaware of the wonderful people at AXIMSITE.COM. Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Pictures
It took a lot of searching before I decided to purchase a good printer and this one is a great one. The pictures are clear and they print fast. I showed them to friends and didn't tell them that I printed them at home and they were very surprised when I told them. Spend the extra money and get a good printer. This printer also include photo ink, which is really needed for a clean print. Make sure you also get the right paper.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great printer
I acquired an S830D recently.5-0 out of 5 stars A great choice
... That said, I'm very happy with this printer. Other reviews, like the one on C|Net, have faulted the printer for mediocre text printing. I can't really address that complaint...have a laser printer for text and only use the S830 for printing photos and I'm very, very happy with how it performs that function. It's fast, I like being able to replace the ink cartridges separately, supports Exif if your digital camera outputs the encrypted data and the pictures are indistinguishable from those printed conventionally. It's the perfect color printer for my advanced amateur needs. ... Read more
