5-0 out of 5 stars Great Envelope printer too!
People are raving about the quality of color photographs with this printer - but I love it for another reason entirely -- it's speed printing envelopes. If you print addresses directly on envelopes this is definitely the printer for you.
5-0 out of 5 stars Wow! 50,000 sheets and still printing
I just went through another ream and looked back at my records and noticed that this printer has printed a minimum of 50,000 sheets of paper. It still works perfectly. If you can get your hands on this printer, I would definately recommend it. 1-0 out of 5 stars Paper feed problems
When I bought my printer I was excited to get it home and start prining pictures and documents. My excitement soon faded, the paper feed is unreliable. Any time I start my printer it never feeds the first sheet, I have to coax the paper for a couple of minutes before it feeds. Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Works Great!
I have had my HP 2800 for about 8 months now and I have never had a problem.I print very high volumes for my home business and it has never failed. It handles a huge range of paper sizes, I mostly print 13 X 19, 11 X 17 and it work great. The software that comes with it tells me my ink usage perfectly, and if I let the ink run out, it will stop the print, let me replace the cartridge, and continue printing the image, that is a great asset.
4-0 out of 5 stars I must be lucky...
Based on most of the other reviews I guess I won the lottery. Mine works fine, never had a jammed page (and I print 13 x 19 often) and I'm not seeing the ink hogging habits others have reported. I print from an XP machine and a MacBook Pro. Initially, the Mac did not print properly, then the Mac Intel drivers came out and now the Mac prints fine.
2-0 out of 5 stars Call a priest
It is possesed. We have named ours Christine. We have had nothing but problems with this printer and the oversize paper feed tray. It is totally inconsistent and erratic in terms of when the paper feed jams and it needs constant babysitting. It chooses to jam at will and nobody can figure out the rationale for its behavior. We have sent the printer back twice and gotten refurbished ones, to no avail. I would never recommend this printer to anyone who needed to print anything important or in a timely manner. A terrible choice for a business printer, in my opinion, just because it is unreliable. It's good points are the color quality and image quality- they are pretty good. We haven't had the ink hog problem. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars A printer for average use!
If you want a good, better, or best printer, this is not the printer for you. Ecspecially if you what to print pictures. This printer prints horrible pictures, it will print words OK.
3-0 out of 5 stars Worked great for a short time
This has lots of features for the money and very good print quality but mine broke after 8 months of occassional use. I was unable to get it repaired (even though it's under warranty) without shipping it somewhere at my own expense. Since I was also due to replace it's 2 ink cartridges (at about $70 for the pair), it was cheaper to throw it out and buy a new one versus paying for shipping and ink. ?go figure.... ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Great Quality prints, but expensive to operate
We received this printer Christmas 2004 from my parents, presumably as a hint that they wanted loads of pictures printed of their new granddaughter. We had just retired an old HP/Kodak printer that was pretty good but not photo-lab quality. We were blindsided by the amazing quality of this Sony printer and went crazy with printing pictures.
1-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Quality Printing, But...
This printer does excellent, quality, professional printing but I cannot recommend purchasing it. Sony has changed the ink cartridge when they came out with the DPP-FP30 & the DPP-FP50 and no longer make the cartridge for this printer. If you purchase this printer, make sure you get a lifetime supply of ink cartridges before buying or you will find that the printer is useless.

3-0 out of 5 stars Nice printer but no support from Sony
Nice quality prints and good features.Paper and ribbons are expensive and can be hard to find.Shipped drivers have problems with some usb cards, no newer drivers are available. In fact, there are NO drivers available for download from Sony's web site. They just don't seem to have any support online for this printer, period. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars OK if you can get one for $50 or less
Worked fine for a couple of years then one day just stopped responding. Price for used one is outrageous. Price for cartridges is equally outrageous. Get a refill kit from Sams' Club.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best Printer I ever had.
I owned this printer since 1998 and it is still working. It is reliable. It let you print a lot of pages before the ink is out. You can network this printer without a problem. It can easily be put on a print server and used by all the computers on the network. I don't have driver on disk anymore but the driver is still available on the net especially on canon's website. The only problem I have in recent months is the ink is becoming scarce. Most stores don't carry the ink anymore. I just recently found the ink on amazon.com which, is great for me.
1-0 out of 5 stars What a hunk of crap
Sucked.Clunky piece of junk.Though it only cost me potatos to buy... but it cost me a forture to operate. If you own one do yourself a favor and through it out with the empty ink and buy something economical.$35 for black and it prints... no it bleed ink onto the paper at a rate of 500 pages per tank... AHHHHHH!That's scary.7 cents a page.Canon please bend me over and take my money. ... Read more

Epson combines brilliant color with 2,880 x 720 dpi resolution in the Stylus Photo S820. Epson's PRINT Image Matching technology oversees six fast-drying color photo inks that are formed into superfine 4-picoliter droplets, resulting in bright, accurate, true-to-life color. The S820's prints are frequently indistinguishable from standard photographs, making this an ideal printer for professional applications as well as the home office.Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars I will never again buy an Epson printer
This is the 2nd Epson Stylus I have owned. The first worked fine for about 6 months, then I had constant problems with clogged heads requiring numerous cleaning cycles and wasting the very expensive ink. I thought that if I bought a newer, better (more expensive) model that I would not have the same problems. Boy was I wrong! It's the exact same story with the new printer. I know it's a relatively inexpensive printer but it should last longer than 6 months. Never again! I am finished with Epson.

1-0 out of 5 stars SAVE YOUR MONEY
Buy something else, if there were a zero star option I would have given it.
3-0 out of 5 stars What do you expect?
I have had this printer for almost 2 years. I use the cheapest ink I can find and YES I use it with XP.

I've this printer for about 4 months now. I love it. I also have an HP880c for our regular everyday printing. We also use that printer for pictures, but the clarity and ease of use is nothing compared to the HP PhotoSmart 100.At my cousins baptism we printed pictures from 3 different digital camera's (Canon, Sony, and Fuji). 5-0 out of 5 stars AMAZING!
I've owned this printer for 3 yrs, I been through 7 printers within the past 5, and nothing can top this one. It is a budget printer, but the Quality it provides is good if your a student or a free lance printer. IF your into photography don't go with this printer. HOWEVER, this printer is a MONEY SAVER!!! the black ink I buy from target is only $6.40 and the color runs for about $17. You can't top that; the printer might be $100+ used but you will save lot of money in the long run in ink; I would reccomend this to anyone!

1-0 out of 5 stars Badly designed printer prone to problems
The printer worked ok for a short period of time. Its obvious from its flimsy construction that this is a budget printer. The warmup cycle is long, loud, and fairly annoying. The color printing was far below the detail on an old HP 960c printer that I also used. However it worked ok for printing text with a few graphics, things like webpages. This however is not an adequate photo printer.
4-0 out of 5 stars Nice Except For Ink Thirst
Overall this is a very good inexpensive ink jet printer. The image quality, black and white or color, plain paper or photo paper, is outstanding. It's fairly fast and fairly quiet. My only real complaint with it is that it goes through ink like crazy. More specifically though, the small ink cartridges tend to dry out rapidly once opened. If you don't do a lot of printing, you will be replacing the cartridges very often (per page). For example, I only print about 50-100 pages per year. But, I have to replace the (black only) ink cartridge 2-3 times per year, so I end up getting 20-30 pages per cartridge. However, if you do a lot of printing, I'm sure you'd get much more use out of a cartridge, as it would not have time to dry out and you'd be using all the ink. Fortunately you can replace only the black or only the color catridges separately, and while not cheap, they're not ridiculously expensive as some others are. That's my only knock on it, it's a fine little beast otherwise. ... Read more
