Great speakers for the money.I used them for rear speakers in my home theater and they blend perfectly with the rest of the system.

Good speaker at a good price
The speakers were easy to install and work well.For the size and price, they are a great deal.The bass response is not great, but that's not what you are looking for in speakers like this.I'm not sure they would be worth the original price at $250, but at <$100 they are well worth it.

This speaker is GREAT
I bought 4 of them for my store show room two months ago, because I was out-bidded several times on fleabay over some refurbished JBL speakers. I bought them based on what I saw from the reviews. Thanks guys. They sound awsome and people thought I paid hundreds for them, even the installer was impressed. This is one of my most satisfied purchases for years. This is certainly NOT because I lower my expectation due to the low price, they are just great, the base is amazing too, I didn't think a tiny 5" speaker can rock. This is a strong buy, I can't find anything wrong with them after 2 months of daily usage.

Good value
I purchased these speakers to use them as surround speakers due to space constraints. They didn't match the front speakers quite well. So, I plan to use them as an additional set of stereo speakers in another room or garage.

Polk Audio is one of the leading speaker manufacturers in the world.They have been for decades.The only way the speakers could possibly sound muddy is if the system you hooked up to is inferior, or the speakers are not hooked up properly to your receiver or the components are not connected properly.There are many receivers these days that have secondary hookups for the audio components that do not give the true sound intended.You just need to make sure you are hooking up to all the main inputs.I have these speakers hooked up in my Master Suite bedroom where the wiring is coming from my basement theater.They sound Awesome installed in my ceiling rather than the wall.Hope this helps!

Note, Speakers sold in PAIR, not single.
I bought 5 of these, thinking that they came "SINGLE (WHITE)" as advertised, however they came with 2 in a box. . . I didn't return any, just put more speakers in my house. VERY easy to install in existing walls. Just cut an opening in the drywall, with the template provided in the box, fish the wire, and clip the speakers in. Very easy, very nice looking.

for the price: 5 stars
Simply put, for in wall speakers in this price range look no further.I powered them with my Harman Kardon 3480 stereo receiver and was floored how great they sounded for only spending $80 for the pair (not sure why they are selling for so much lower than the list price).I had been looking at a pair of BOSE speakers for around $200 (pair) and have to say the JBL sound better and will mount flush with my wall!

I am thoroughly impressed with these speakers.I am no audiophile but consider myself technically proficient when it comes to Home Theater an Home Audio.I installed these speakers in the kitchen for my wife to listen to music while she cooks and visits with guests.I installed these speakers with Monster Cable 14/4 CL3 In-wall speaker wire.Installation is easy, sound is good, and the price is right.Fairly full sound and discreet.What else could you ask for?I give it four stars, not for a top end home theater, very good for whole house hidden music.

This is a SINGLE speaker for STEREO use in small rooms
Please understand this: BOTH left and right speaker wires are wired to this SINGLE speaker. It feeds the bass and TWO tweeters located in the same chassis.

Much better than TV Speakers
I have two connected to the speaker outs from my Panasonic professional 42" Plasma TH-42PWD8UK. They installed very easily and sound pretty good driven by the 8 watt per channel output from my TV.They get much louder than my wife will let me listen to, and music sounds very good.I thought they would have more bass, but it really isn't noticeable watching most broadcaset TV.If I upgrade to 5.1, i'll buy three more of these.Painted the wall color they are certainly visible, since the bezel around the speaker is 1/8 inch thick, and lights case a shadow.I am very happy with them (and my wife is happy with the price).
