Stereo doesn'twork with Treo 700p
The whole point of getting stereo headset is to listen to music and audio books in stereo.I was very surprised to learn when I received this headset that for the Treo 700p there is no stereo.From the earlier poster who had the Treo 650, I thought the point was the phone calls wouldn't be in stereo which wasn't a big deal.I had called Plantronics to see if this would work with the new Treo and they had said yes so I bought it.Buton the 700p nothing is in stereo.
Binaural vs. monaural sound
It's illegal to drive a car with earphones in both ears. This is why cellphone earsets are monaural (one ear). To make binaural (two ears) earphones for music that you can also use monaural on a cell phone, manufacturers have to do some tricks. Jabra's C220S is designed to have horrendous feedback if you try to use it binaurally with a microphone. Sennheiser's MM10 has an unique 4-conductor plug for use only with certain Motorola combo cellphones/MP3 players. The Plantronics MX100S has a simpler solution: two plugs. A standard 3.5mm stereo plug connects to any music player with a headphone jack; a standard 2.5mm plug connects to any standard cellphone. An in-line switch switches between the two. Simple, works perfectly. I use the MX100S with an anti-stuttering device that has both a 3.5mm headphones jack and a 2.5mm earset jack. I plug in both plugs and get binaural sound with the microphone. The microphone sound quality isn't as good as a boom microphone such as the MX150, but it's good enough. The earphones sound good. The rubber earclips hold the earphones in comfortably and securely, as good as the Jabra, and better than the Sennheiser. All in all, the MX100S works with no flaws, unlike the Jabra or the Sennheiser.

Why would you buy this? Much better alternatives.
I would avoid this 'mission control' headsets for a number of reasons, especially since there are a number of alternatives. First, you will soon be annoyed by the microphone 'ball' which dangles unnecessarily in front ofyour mounth. At this stage in audio technology, the microphone can be nearthe ear piece and still pick up and filter out appropriate sound. Second,there is no reason to have these in glow colors. If there is any thing thatyou don't want to 'show off' it is a headset. If you want to spend just alittle money, check out the AT&T 90800 headset. It works very well andis dirt cheap. If you want more comfort and really plan to use this device,go with the Plantronics M175 -- I think it is worth the price differenceand have used multiple units over the past 3 years. ... Read more

Does the job but...
I have this at work.It does the job okay, but people sometimes have a hard time hearing what I say, even though I have the speaking volume turned all the way up.The other drawback is that you can't switch out headsets with it - you only can use the monoaural headset that comes with it, which isn't so good for noisy environments. Works perfectly for me
I first wanted to respond to a concern about terrible screeching when used in office multi-phone conditions. I can't speak to multiple S10's in the same office but did have a screech on first try to another extension. The amplifier, however, has 7 configuration settings. I found several settings worked for outgoing calls but only two worked for both in office and outgoing use. So if a second headset is bought in my office I'll respond to whether we could find a configuration setting for both headsets that worked. I supposed that just confuses the concern. Great headset
