5-0 out of 5 stars Maybe I'm Just Lucky
I've carried my TJ35 for about 2 years after my Palm M130 died suddenly. The Sony spends nearly all of its time in my pocket with my change and keys...not a great environment for a high-tech toy.
5-0 out of 5 stars PEG TJ35 is a good PDA
Despite all the reviews I read about this pda being nothing but problems, I went ahead and bought mine.I have not had one ounce of problem out of it.I first started using it at work to keep track of information that I would need on a daily basis and boy did it help a LOT!I love this pda, MP3 playback, fast transfer rate using the supplied USB cable, and it charges very fast!My mom has an older Sony Clie' and I like mine a whole better. So if you are in the market of getting one, I would definately recommend this pda.

2-0 out of 5 stars Sony CLIE PEG-TJ35/U from Tech for Less
I recently returned my reboxed Sony CLIE PEG-TJ35/U from Tech for Less.PalmOS 5.1 caused some of my repair tracking programs to not work so I returned it within four days.Tech for Less charges a 20% restocking fee; fair enough but I asked to defer that until I can research which older Palm OS will work.

5-0 out of 5 stars This one is worth it!!!
Since 2001, I have had a Palm M100, 105, 500, Clie SJ-22, and now the SJ-33.This isn't a pocket pc, but I love mine and would highly recommend it--especially if you don't mind the fact that Sony doesn't make them anymore.
5-0 out of 5 stars Best Palm I have ever owned
I am a long time palm user. First the Palm IIIC, then the Palm m500, then the Sony Clie SJ-22 and now the Sony Clie SJ-33.
1-0 out of 5 stars Sony support nonexistant
If sony could get a zero, I would give them a zero.Sony has no concept of giving their customers any after purchase support. The battery on this clie has never held a decent charge.Due to my work, I am not able to leave it plugged in all day; so I tried to find a car charger. No one had one not even sony and their support never emailed me back.I decided to replace the battery and once again no one had a replacement, and sony was non responsive.I guess by halting support of their clies sony believes that everyone will have to buy a psp.NOT ME! ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Increasing power charge time
For those of you experiencing problems with sustaining a power charge...I had the same problem and my iPAQ only held a charge for a few hours, I was always losing data and eventually stopped using the device.I was ready to throw it out and I put it away for serveral months.I decided to give it another try and discovered that by adjusting the "Standby" setting (found under Settings, Power, then click Standby tab) the device now holds a charge for several days depending on usage. The "Standby" setting was set at 100 and I brought that setting down to 25.Give it a try before you give up on your iPAQ!

3-0 out of 5 stars Reliable when new...not so after a few years
I bought my 3900 series Ipaq brand new (not refurbished). It has worked GREAT for the first 2 years.During the 3rd year, the battery started dying.I sent it back to have the battery replaced and have had trouble ever since.I do not believe at this time that the battery was ever bad.I believe there is an internal problem that makes this unit "think" that the battery isn't charged, or that really drains the battery power quickly. After charging the unit to 100% charged at midnight, I have gone back at 8am to find the battery completely dead. For the first few times, the data could be recovered. After that, I had to keep restoring the data in order to use it.Interestingly, I pulled the unit off the charger at 80% as I didn't have time to let it charge. That time it lasted for 4 days without problems.I have heard this complaint from all the 3800 and 3900 series owners that I know.If you want to buy this unit, it's great as long as you can charge it often.Otherwise, be prepared to buy another one after a few years (new) or a few months (used/refurbished).
2-0 out of 5 stars Power issues
I have had my 3955 for only 16 months of relatively light usage (I do not even use it every day, as I quickly learned how rapidly the unit burns through a charge). Now, for no apparent reason, the internal battery will not hold a charge . . . fully charged off the docking station, the unit is fully discharged (and all my data and settings gone!) less than 24 hours later after the unit has not been used at all!For this kind of money, I would expect better battery life and the ability to self-install a new battery, rather than having to send the unit in for service.I will probably not purchase another iPaq unless these issues are addressed by HP. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Regatta Watch
I have been looking for quite some time at different sailing watches. As a bowman, I compete quite heavily in sailing regatta's and have tried several different watches.I have now had this watch for a few months and I must admit it is the best watch I have ever used.It is very user friendly and has an excellent countdown timer.Having the temperature and pressure is nice, but okay... they are extras. It is a nice looking watch, good display, and very easy to use.I would highly recommend this watch for anyone who truly competes in sailing regatta's.

3-0 out of 5 stars Spiffy but bizarre
I want to like this watch a lot, but I am having to admit that my inexpensive Timex Ironman (now at the bottom of Lake Michigan ticking away) did the basics better. The baro and compass features are cool, although I don't use them that much.
2-0 out of 5 stars Very Unhappy with Watch
I have been sailing for some time now and received the watch as a long awaited sailing gift.Read more

Sharpen your spelling skills and refine your literary chops with the Seiko WP1010 electronic spell checker, which combines a portable English-language spelling corrector with a variety of conversion functions and games. Simply input a word as you think it should be spelled, and the WP1010 will search its 110,000-word database of American and British English words for a match. If it doesn't find the exact word, the unit will take several "educated guesses" based on similar spellings. The WP1010 can also correct phonetic spelling errors--words that sound like they should be spelled one way but are actually spelled quite differently. Just enter a word "as it sounds" and the spell checker will suggest real words based on phonetic equivalents.Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Toshiba SUCKS! Buy better!
Toshiba doesn't offer any support for products after a newer model is lanched. While everyone else can evolve with technology, you will have to keep buying new units from Toshiba to keep up. No Thanks.

1-0 out of 5 stars Absolute Bottom Line
I bought this PPC brand new, when it first came out at $350 or thereabouts. It wasn't the cheapest one out there, but I was in a hurry and had liked Toshiba's laptops so I figured- what the heck? I mean, how hard IS it to make a PPC when you've been making laptops for so long. Well- I found out. Toshiba needs to get out of this end of the market (actually, I believe they already have) because this is the absolute worst PPC on the market. The processor is indeed slow and buggy; it required "soft" reset several times a day. I use all types of PPC's in my daily work, so I am not unfamiliar with their usage. I currently own 2-Dells, 3-HP's and 2-Palms. I consider myself expert in their usage.
2-0 out of 5 stars Thinking of buying a used one?Look again
Toshiba is known for their excellent notebook/laptop, but not for their PDA. My first PDA was the Apple Newton and Toshiba e335 is my current and last one (currently looking at the IPAQ 6315/6365).

4-0 out of 5 stars STILL a great value
The S-360 is a low-level PDA and an excellent value. I got mine in June of 2002, and it still works lik a charm. The SJ360 isn't flashy or colorful like some pocket PC (it's processor and monochrome screen are obviously below the task), but it handles functions like calendar, to-do, e-mail and phone-book, as well as allowing a big area for memos for whatever comes to mind. It's incredibly thin and light - much more so than the Visor Handspring I bought my wife the year before. It comes with 16MB of RAM, though it includes a slot for memory-sticks (which I haven't tried yet). Though using the same operating system as the Palm Pilot, Clies come with something unique, a jog-wheel - a wheel on the side that allows you to scroll through information while holding the unit with one hand. (I keep reaching for the wheel whenever using my wife's Visor.) Like similar PDAs, you can "Hotsync" to your computer - an absolute must (more on that in a sec). Using Hotsync, you can download the contents of your Clie for safekeeping. Hotsync works both ways - and you can download to your Palm information you've updated on your computer (saving you the trouble of having to do the same using the PDA's somewhat annoying interface). Installing the software on my XP computer was effortless, and with a USB cable, a typical Hotsync takes only a few seconds - so fast, you won't even miss that Hotsync cradle. I bought mine for the fun of having a new gadget, and now can't imagine leaving home without it.And again, that was back in 2002.5-0 out of 5 stars Best pda for under 150
I have used other pda's from the time they came out.It always frustrated me that it was hard to easily navigate menus and the stylus wasnt very responsive.Ever since I got this model I have had no problems. The hotsync works very well and never misses any files as I have had before. One of the best features is the large memory allowing me to store my documents and contacts easily and not worrying of going over the limit. If this is your first pda then I would get it because it is reliable and simple to use.

1-0 out of 5 stars Seller Maliciously Falsified Product Information-ON PURPOSE
I ordered a Sony Clie Handheld from this seller and he intentionally didn't list that the item is unusable, irrepairable, and worthless. After purchasing the item the seller stated this: "the sony clie has already been sent. As mentioned, it has not been tested and the screen is fixable by sony. go to sonystyle.com for more info."Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent features, rugged. A bit big though...
I'm extremely pleased with my Suunto Mariner. It is simply loaded with features that a sailor/racer wil find handy. It can also take a lot of abuse (clumsy me...). There are only two things I can think of where the Suunto Mariner comes up short: First is that it is a bit big when worn on your wrist. However, all Suunto watches are this size; and, once you get used to it, you stop noticing. Although it is big, it is very light in weight. Overall, it is very comfortable to wear. And, the benefit of having a big display is that it is easy to see (and digest) all the data displayed on the unit. Second, many watches coming out from other companies that cater to water-sports enthusiasts include a tide calculator/display. The Suunto Mariner does not have this feature. In my opinion, adding the tide feature would make this watch complete.Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Not as good as the MWD-1470.
This product is not as good as the MWD-1470 (which i also reviewed) for one reason:
3-0 out of 5 stars Okay.
The display is kinda lousy. But it really comes in handy at times but if you have trouble reading the display, then save your money and purchase a Palm PDA or Sony PDA with maybe a backlight function.I use both this device and my Palm Zire 21 for reading and reference. So, I prefer to use the Palm Zire 21 with the eReader Pro application installed with a reference title but the dictionaries on eReader.com aren't as easy to read because the font is too small. So, get this device if you just need an electronic book reader and portable reference device.

2-0 out of 5 stars very disappointing
there are many bad points about this electronic dictionary.

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect gadget for enthusiasts
I had this PDA for almost two years now and it still works properly except that it's internal memory falls short compared to other PDAs. Most of it's people seems to complain it's battery usage especially when operating cameras but if you make your backlit screen minimal as possible, then the camera will last longer even with the flash. I do that all the time and usually gets me 50 shots with flash if used continuosly without quitting; quitting so would make results for your battery life different. MP3 works great but you'll need to format your mp3s to atrac3 using sony's software since all it playback is atrac3. I also recommand that you get at least 256mb of merory stick pro for this one; that way you can backup lots of data in case your pda screws up and also to store some video clips, games, works, etc. If you want to playback mp3s, buy the standard magicgate merory stick fot it; only those can playback atrac3s. This pda can access most of webpages too as long as it doesn't eat away too much of merory space. I hope this review helps some of those who wish to use it's built-in camera very efficiently because I know I did.

1-0 out of 5 stars a piece of junk
Dont ever buy this product. It comes with a packet of junk softwares. Take for example audio player. It can only play files which has a frequency of 44.1KHz and data rate of 96kbps to 128kbps. However there are some awesome products out there, but since sony doesnt provide their API, these products dont work for nz90.3-0 out of 5 stars A jack of all trades - master of none
It may be a great idea to have a PDA and camera combo, but this product is not it.It has the best screen I have seen (big and bright); excellent game selections; but is cumbersome due to the flip screen and ridiculous stylus storage.Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars 4 1/2 Stars- Very Good PDA
This PDA is very functional and easy-to-use. It stores quite a bit of memory, and the features are very nice and useful. The only things that I disliked were that it is black & white (though color PDAs were hardly on the market when I bought it), and that sometimes the font is very small and I couldn't find a way to change that. It provides a great memo pad, Paint program, and photo viewer. You can also add creative touches to your downloaded pics using the paint program, which proved to be entertaining. You can also get great features and downloadables for this PDA, which is a slightly older model. I would definitely reccommend the sony CLIE PEG-SL10 Handheld!!

3-0 out of 5 stars Great PDA...Disadvantages though
I bought this PDA a few months after it was released. I was happy with it except a few things. I didn't like that it was B&W or that is was not rechargable. There was alot todo with it until almost all the pda's on the market went Color then the software was limited. I really like the functionality and the features. But now I have updated. I would recomment going for the Song SJ22 for a little more money. Tis color and recharagable and alot more funtional.

4-0 out of 5 stars Combines Basic Organizer Functions With A Hi-Res B/W Display
This is the third PDA I've owned, but my first CLIE. After my Palm Vx's screen broke, I decided to upgrade to the color Palm m130. About 6 months later it stopped functioning and I decided to just forget about returning it and throw it out because I really didn't like it all that much anyway. So I decided to shop for a third PDA. I wanted something small, light, and inexpensive; something to use just as an organizer. I was thinking about a Palm Zire, but while looking on eBay I found the CLIE PEG-SL10 in brand-new condition for half the price. I bought it, and was pleasantly surprised at what I got. I didn't know when I bought it that it used AAA batteries instead of rechargeable batteries. I was a little disappointed at first, but I found later when going on vacation it was much easier to bring an extra set of batteries than a charger cable. The high-resolution display is great. Text comes out clear and easy to read. I sort of miss the color display of my old m130, but the hi-res makes up for that. The included 8MB of RAM is more than enough for storing contacts, memos, and date book entries. I even had enough room left for JPEG pictures I transferred from my computer using the included software. While I never bought a memory stick to expand the memory, that feature would be useful for people who want to store photos, video (with included gMovie software), or games. While it comes with dozens of applications on the CD, almost all are trial versions or shareware. It does, however, include street finder with one free map download. It takes up a lot of memory (around 2MB for program and map), but is very useful. It also includes powerOne personal, which is an upgrade to the included calculator and includes more features. It's been about 6 months since I bought this PDA. I'm now thinking of upgrading to a Tungsten C to take advantage of my new WI-FI home network. This PDA was great and I haven't really had any problems with it. I would not suggest this to anyone who needs a PDA for music, movies, internet, or games. This is a very basic PDA with some more advanced features. Overall, it is a great investment for anyone who needs a inexpensive, basic PDA. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars BUYER BEWARE!
I purchased my Sony PEG TJ27 and it worked great for the first 6 months then the battery died, then the screen light phased out. What a nightmare, Spend the extra money for a PALM, you'll be much happier.

2-0 out of 5 stars Problems, problems, ...
First I could not sync. Returned the unit to Sony for repair (warranty). Then they forgot to ship the sync cable back with the unit. Now, after the warranty period, the camera on the Cli no longer works - a message says "the lens cover is closed" but it is not... So I can't use the camera in the unit any more. I will go back to Palm next time...

1-0 out of 5 stars DON'T DO IT!
After a little over a year, my PEG-TJ27 is useless.I had to return it to SONY support within 2 months due to screen issues...and that alone was a nightmare trying to get it fixed. The latest is my battery died and I cannot recharge it.I plug it into the cables, and it comes on for about 10 seconds then shuts down and the recharge light is off...will not recharge...
