Editorial Review

If you're new to the world of handheld organizers, the Palm m100 may just be the right fit for you. Under the hood, the Palm m100 features much of the same great software and options we've come to expect from Palm, such as scheduling and contact applications and an infrared port to beam information to other Palm users. But Palm has added some new features to both the engine (which runs Palm OS 3.5) and the chassis.Read more

  • 2 MB memory stores hundreds of addresses, phone numbers, appointments, and to-do items
  • Exchange and back up data with your PC or Macintosh using 1-touch synchronization
  • Synchronize with Palm Desktop software; also includes link to Microsoft Outlook
  • Includes one-touch clock and Note Pad application for writing "sticky notes" on screen
  • Add optional keyboard, backup module, or Kodak PalmPix digital camera; customizable with optional snap-on faceplates

3-0 out of 5 stars Great & basic while it works!
I have owned one of these since they came out and now have to buy a new one.For the lastcouple of years I have been having trouble with it losing my data even if I change the batteries much quicker than 1 minute. Now recently it started just losing the data all together for no reason, after brand new batteries installed, and all the files I want in there... Now calendar info, contact info, and pocket quicken file.We get it all set and then next time I go to use it..probably within a week...the data is all gone byebye...I have to do the setup screen to even do anything with it at first. Now it doesn't even seem to remember I just did the setup screen yesterday!
3-0 out of 5 stars Not a problem free experience but working fine now
I got the Palm m-100 for Christmas of 2000 and it served me well until the spring of 2005, when it succumbed to the same problem many others encoutered: suddenly the Palm began consuming batteries at an enormous rate, and refused to hold a charge whenever I changed the batteries (total data loss.) I'm usually out of town so it was often impossible to reinstall the data I have backed up on my computer.
5-0 out of 5 stars Old but good
I got this Palm for Christmas 2001 instead of the usual slew of calendars I had received in previous years. Since then it has been reliable and has been a good basic organizer.

5-0 out of 5 stars solid built, convenient, better than just the bible
I bought the Franklin Holman bible dictionary 6 months ago because I wanted something faster to find verses during bible study. The model is HBD 1450 which should not be confused with the BIB 1450 model, which is the KJV and NIV bible only. This unit is the first electronic bible I've own.The unit retails for $89.95 but I got mine for $50. 5-0 out of 5 stars Good Buy
I bought this new to replace my Palm organizer that was stolen a few years ago.I haven't had any problems with it and I've had it for about three years now.

4-0 out of 5 stars 2nd Palm, 2.75 Years w/m505
I've owned this since late 2001. It replaced a 4-year-old Palm Pilot Professional (1MB mono, AAA batts). It has been very solid for me. I am hooked on the simplicity of the Palm OS. I don't need a notebook computer in my pocket. I need an all-in-one-place-and-go-anywhere life organizer--calendar, address book, Scrabble (extra!), with ability to sync to desktop @ home and @ work; beam entries between this and my wife's m130. I also have add-on of SplashID for password-protected storage of PINs, passwords, web-logins, and other sensitive/private info. As a result, every piece of critical info (13+ categories of addresses, work/personal appointments, etc.) is always at my fingertips, and always safely backed-up on the Palm Desktop.
4-0 out of 5 stars Perfect for almost anybody!
The Palm M505 is a neat little PDA. It's features are perfect for students to business people. There are many positive elements to this little Palm.Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Would be fine if you could read it -- NOT RECOMMENDED
I've used mine for about a week now, and honestly, I would not buy it again (I'm returning it), due to the very poor screen. It is really not readable unless you get it under a VERY bright light.Other than that, it seems to work ok, but the screen is a killer.
2-0 out of 5 stars decepcionado
I am an interpretor for a major hospital and bought this dictionary to keep from having to carry around a large paper dictionary for the occasional word I have to look up. I was extremely disappointed with this product. Merriam Webster advertises that this dictionary has 5,000,000 translations! Don't believe this! The Larousse unabridged spanish-english dictionary only advertises having 400,000 translations, but try flipping to any random page of the larousse dictionary and go down the list looking up the same words with DBE-1450 for comparison. you would notice that about half of the words in the larousse dictionary would pull up no result on the DBE-1450! I used this electronic translator for about a week with my job, and was frustrated enough by the incompleteness of the dictionary that I sold it to a patient for a few bucks less that what I paid for it... besides the fact that the dictionary didn't have about 80% of the words I tried to look up for my job, it seems to be about twice as thick as the older version (DBE-1440). I guess the increase in size is due to the new touch screen technology of the newer version, but I'd much prefer cutting the width and weight in half even if it meant having to touch a button instead of a screen!.. I had the DBE-1440 for about 3 years and was very happy with it until it got stollen a few months ago. Hopefully I can get a hold of this older version again, but unfortunately you can no longer buy the larousse version of the franklin electronic translator...
5-0 out of 5 stars SO much better than a dictionary
Five years ago, I hesitated to buy this product because I thought it was extravagent - I had a dictionary, why would I need this?It is WONDERFUL.The dictionary is comprehensive and MUCH easier and faster to use than a book.Because of that, I constantly refer to it, both while reading and in class. The conjugation tool is extremely helpful. And it fits in your pocket.Great product and worth every penny.I am on-line today to buy a new one because I dropped it in a puddle and I can't live without it. ... 2-0 out of 5 stars Uncertain time keeping
I was anxious to receive this watch, as I was making a tripacross the international date line.I was disappointed, as day after day it lost several minutes before I even left home. Each time it required several minutes of button pushing before it would re-synch, and even then it had to "see the sky" to synch.Once on my trip, it changed by about an hour and a half, and I nearly missed a plane. It went to the bottom of my suitcase for the rest of my trip, and I've asked for a refund.

3-0 out of 5 stars Abacus Atomic Watch
The watch is a little larger and heavier than I had expected. It updates as advertised, but I was disappointed to find that I still have to select the time zones manually. I have been using a watch that has world times and been switching the zones manually for 20 years. I thought this watch would not only update timne, but automaticlly switch zones according to where you are in the world using the updaing systems around the world like my electric clocks at home. I do like the larger numbers, but the alarm is barely loud enough to hear and probably won't be loud enough to wake you up from sleeping. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars It's great!!!
This is the perfect pda. I bought one when they came out, so I've had mine for a long time. If you didn't get one with they came out, you missed out. Buy one, if you can find one.
5-0 out of 5 stars Great PDA
Small, light...fits the need. Too bad Handspring is no longer in business. Their products are much slicker than Palm's.

4-0 out of 5 stars Handspring-the world of compact PDA's
I just got my new Handspring Treo 90 about a month ago, and so far, I have no complaints. Seriously, what got me into the Treo first was when I saw doctors using it for appointments on CNN saying PDA's are really useful, plus I had never even seen one with a built in kepyboard. I'm really glad I got it finally. The screen doesn't look as nearly as vibrant as the one on the front of the box or the picture on amazon, and that's good. My eyes are sometimes sensitive to vibrant colors probably because I don't have good eyesight, but it's still great to have a color PDA after using a black and white one ever since I got into handheld devices.

4-0 out of 5 stars I love my Clie, but XP doesn't
I have had a pda since the early '90's..Casio Boss to all the early palms, but I love my tg50.The keyboard is great..grafitti is slow and hard to learn, especially numerals. You definitely need a memory stick and a sturdy case.
5-0 out of 5 stars Not the best handheld, but it is still my choice.
The TG50 is not the best Clie, but it is my top choice. I bought it when it first came out, and I broke the motherboard by having it in my bag. I loved it so much I ordered another one on ebay for $110.

2-0 out of 5 stars It's Great When It's Working
I have had my Tungsten T for about 3 years. I would have replaced it long ago, but I had not budgeted to replace this thing the first year I had it.
4-0 out of 5 stars compact nearly perfect pda
this is not my first palm pda. i purchased this one because of the small form factor, the extended memory, and the sd card slot. also, there was a Veo digital camera offer :-). The palm fits the hand extremely well, especially smaller hands like a woman. The slider function to unveil the graffiti area works smoothly, but one can install Jot or other programs which allow you to write on the screen itself rather than restrict you to the graffiti area. This means you don't need to extend the screen if inconvenient. The screen itself is very sharp and bright. The only issue with this handheld is that buttons will easily turn it on if touched, even if not intended. Do not put this in a case or your pocket where it will be pressed. I highly recommend a hard aluminum case to prevent accidental button pushes (and battery depletion). Other than this issue (which can also be dealt with by using software to block the buttons from turning on the pda), this is a great unit. Bluetooth included, voice recorder, plays mp3 and video.

2-0 out of 5 stars Its not good!!
I hardly like mine at all!! When I put the memory card in, it deletes all the stored data on it.It keeps freezing up when I end up having to hard reset it, which is really annoying.I also think the RAM memory could be better. ... Read more

My PalmPilot Personal has been working great everyday in the last 7.5 years. It only has minor scratches in the graffiti area. I have had my Pocket PC for quite some time now, and I love the convenience that it offers.
3-0 out of 5 stars hard to read the screen
This is a good value, but the screen is very difficult to read in less than perfect lighting conditions.Under bright flourescent lights in the office, it is fine. The rest of the time, though, I have a heck of a time with it. The internal memory also isn't really big enough to store MP3s.I decided to go back to paper and pen.

4-0 out of 5 stars Why I still like this PDA, continued
I found out the way to copy photos from my CompactFlash card onto the iPAQ. It's not hard but more complex than necessary. I also found out how to send the iPAQ in to have its screen replaced. A hassle. Its screen and/or stylus should work together so they don't produce scratches in the first place. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Big screen, keyboard, clamshell, 1.3 mp camera, cool right?
There is no Bluetooth or WiFi built in. So be prepared to pay about $130 for the WiFi card (which takes the Compact Flash slot). The CF slot is a cool feature, and it being retractable saves space, but the slot can't close with a card in it. It doesn't look as good as my TG50, and the keyboard keys are way to flat and small. My fingers rub right over them. The screen is amazing. It looks so crisp and clear. You can see it outside with no problem. The camera looks very good outside also. It looks like it is 3mp sometimes. The "Capture Light" is more like a flash light, and I use it for that :). The IR port is in a bad place, half is on the side, half on the top. It is annoying when using Clie remote, which allows you to control TVs, VCRs, DVD players, and amps from a variety of brands. The jog dial is cool, and it is better than the 5-way navigator on this size device. The size of this Clie is annoying. It is 8 ounces! 3 ounces bigger than my TG50.

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the best PDAs in the market
I've been using my Sony Clie NX80V since a year, and is still impressive the performance of this palm... the swivel screen allows you to use this like a normal PDA or like a laptop, an even better with its small keyboard, convenient for thumb fingers or small hands. I also found amazing the dual (CF and MemoryStick) card reader, and if you buy the WiFi CF card for Clie, you can do everything with this handheld. Besides, it has a lot of convenient software, like the Picsel viewer and NetFront browser. The only software I added is DocumentsToGo, and I can edit my .doc and .xls files (even simple PowerPoint presentations), and still view it in my PC when I plug my Clie to it. The screen is huge, brillant with its wonderful shrinkable Graffiti area, that allows you to add direct access to many applications you use often. Finally the camera is really great (I haven't seen any PDA with a 1.3M pixels built-in camera... and fast), and Sony knows how to make it look beautiful, including the cradle, and the MP3 player sound great, and much better with the hand controller.
5-0 out of 5 stars Say Goodbye To Sony's US and European PDA Market
I love my Sony Clie, PEG NX80V.I bought it less than a year ago, and the resolution, screensize and vivid display still astound my associates. The performance is quick for PDAs made in 2003, and the product is still superior in technology when compared to most of todays sales.I have to complain that Sony stopped offering online updates (drivers, patches, etc) for this product less than 7 months after releasing it. Now, after current stocks run out, Sony will retreat to ASIA, where they are selling the latest PDA, it's really going to blow you away.
