5-0 out of 5 stars nice pocket pc
This is a really good pocket pc because I can access the internet, do my homework and even type my papers for school. I would recommend you get this because it's a good study tool and a good organizer for teens.

2-0 out of 5 stars Pass on it
I purchased the RZ1715 about six months ago, and it has already worn out---battery will not take a charge, before that it became unpredictable in its behavior, with a lot of soft reboots. In contrast, my previous PDA---a Toshiba that was awesome---lasted about a year. My first PDA---an inexpensive Palm, purchased simply to see if I would use a PDA---lasted two years. The RZ1715 is so radically limited on memory that "Out of Memory" errors were a daily occurrence; I had 64MB expansion card in it, but it only recognized the card about half of the time. This PDA is simply not built to last.
5-0 out of 5 stars Good choice
I'm very saisfied with this product. It's just as I expected. No need to say more. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Exorbitant and USELESS
I bought this item in april during a promotion for my brothers graduation thinking it would make a perfect gift for him since he always loathes the heavy laptops. The item is lightweight and ultra portable. full marks here to it. BUT!! THATS ABOUT IT! BESIDES THAT THIS ITEM IS A PIECE OF CRAPPP.

Electronics

Asin: B000059MSI
Average Customer Review: 3.5 out of 5 stars

Editorial Review

Palm handhelds have succeeded because they're small and lightweight but hold a surprisingly large amount of personal data. The Palm m105 handheld expands on those essential features by offering an organizer that's smaller and lighter (4.4 ounces) than most others while remaining packed with 8 MB of memory, so it can do much more than just store your calendar or addresses. The m105 is also one of the most comfortable Palm devices we've held--its distinctive curved bottom rests comfortably in the palm.Read more

Features

  • 8 MB memory--stores thousands of addresses, phone numbers, appointments, and to-do items
  • Includes HotSync serial cradle to back up data to your PC or Macintosh
  • Comes with e-mail and Mobile Internet Kit software and desktop software for both PC and Mac
  • Link to Microsoft Outlook (Windows only)
  • Customizable with optional snap-on faceplates

3-0 out of 5 stars It's Okay
This was my first experience with a PDA. It was really cool at first because I just started college and I didn't have to deal with the messy paper organizers. I grew to dislike it because I had to change the batteries left and right. I didn't much care for that. The thing kept crashing on me, I grew tired of having to plug everything back in. It's okay for the price you get. I would recomend this if you haven't had one before. It can get the job done if you fon't want bells and whistles.

2-0 out of 5 stars Works great as long as you don't have to change the batteries
I received my Palm m105 as a christmas gift a few years ago.It worked well for my needs at the time.In recent months I have been using it alot more which therefore resulted in more changes of the batteries.Every time I change the batteries I have to sync up again. All of the additional programs I have loaded on have to be reloaded again after every battery change.I also lose some programs and have to completely reload them.... For that reason I am buying a new PDA, one with a rechargeable battery!

3-0 out of 5 stars Quailty
It's cool... Expect it only has 8 mb, no card slot B /w screen non-rechargable batteries but that's convient Because no charging required. Just install and go. Trick: install 1 battery to avoid data eraseure. Most of the specs reek pretty much.

5-0 out of 5 stars What I like about my hx4705
This is my fourth Windows PDA, first 3 were from Compaq.
1-0 out of 5 stars Great spec - expensive, unreliable and no longer made
I've had one for 9 months and it's a great PDA, albeit a bit power hungry for the battery shipped. Love the screen.
2-0 out of 5 stars Potential not realized
I have had my iPAQ for almost a year and bought it because of positive reviews and the high quality of its screen. I was just told by an "HP repair status specialist" that the motherboard must be replaced and there is no power to the motherboard.I only ever used it to read e-books, run a program called ePocrates - a medication database, play solitaire, and keep up with addresses and phone numbers. I could never get the wireless capability to work.It was reliable for my limited use for about six months and then began it's slow decline.I have updated it, kept "patches" current, and spent about 5 hours of my time with various online and telephone support personnel. I really miss my old Clie.My Dell Axim is also better than the HP. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Ebookman rocks.
I really enjoy this item for downloading ebooks. There's not alot of memory for the MP3's but that's okay you just need to buy a MMC card (or Multi-Media Card I like Scan Disk they are a good brand). But when You get your book downloaded it's all good and I don't use MP3's any way so no big. It also has all the PDA features such as voice memo, phone book, calculator, game downloading capability, dictionary, ect. Over all a great way to keep organized and to read ebooks.

4-0 out of 5 stars Handy EBM-911
I bought the Ebookman for $40 a few years ago.The unit is just small enough to fit in a shirt pocket but large enough with 3 font sizes to read. The mp3 music sounds good for me but it was meant more for audio books.I would prefer the backlight to be brighter. sure it uses batteries even while off and if they die then you WILL lose all data. I never had a problem with that because I use a multimedia card that has the entire system backed up. it's easy to backup daily.I use NiMH bats. When bats die I pop in fresh NiHMs and the unit automatically restores the system with all the data. It's a great deal for $40.Mine is still working after 4 years of use. The pen does lock in so I never lost it.

1-0 out of 5 stars Great Product, But!!
Great product. The data loss is OK.There is room for an expandion mmc card so no bigee. Not bad for the money compared to other PDAs.

Research in Motion's BlackBerry wireless handheld has been one of themost talked-about handhelds on the market recently--and the press coverage itreceived due to it being the communication gadgets of choice for Al Gore'spresidential campaign certainly didn't hurt. But thanks to its full-functionorganizer, synchronization with many popular desktop PIMs (personal informationmanagers), thumb-operated QWERTY keyboard, and, of course, wireless e-mail, theRIM 957 BlackBerry is more than just hype.Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Perfect PDA at a great size
I love my RIM 950 Blackberry now that I have one. I had heard about them from everyone, and even seen one in a movie, so I finally caved and got one. This little tiny thing is amazing, and with all the things it can do. I might as well toss my pager away as we speak. It's about the size of a pager (maybe a little bigger) but it makes you feel as if it is a pager.
1-0 out of 5 stars Not a good fit for me
My main complaint about the 950 seems trivial, but is actually pretty important. I absolutely refuse to wear this thing on my belt, so I keep it in my handbag. Well, the holster is not rigid enough, so the device turns itself on when I'm not paying attention and eats up batteries like you wouldn't believe. Now it seems like every time I pick it up the battery is dead. The device is almost worthless to me at this point. I wish I'd purchased the 957 instead. At least it is rechargable.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great, great device
This thing saved my life.I am chronically disorganized (always writing things down on slips of paper and losing them, forgetting appointments, and such).Well, now I have it all in one place and it nags me enough so I can't forget anything!I love these things.Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars don't trust it to not crash before your next hotsync
I have been using this for years and have found that I can never trust it to keep any new info.Taking it on the road and relying on it to not crash is prohibitivly risky.I stripped out all 3rd party software including avant go and only use the bare basic calendar, phonelist and notes and still find it crashes WAY too frequently, needing a reset that wipes out everything in its memory untill my next hot sync.Much as I like the functionality that it was designed for, I'm sick of this piece of crap and am searching hard for a reliable PDA.
1-0 out of 5 stars Completely Worthless!
After owning my palm m515 for 6 months, it stopped charging.Of course this happened when I was traveling, so I lost all the new information on had entered during my trip.Luckily I was able to reload the old information which I had on my computer.Since it was still under warrenty, I was able to send it back to get a fixed one in exchange.A year or so later, it just stopped syncronizing for no reason.I refuse to pay to speak to a Palm representative, and their website is indecipherable and holds nothing helpful.Palm is only interested in having you buy, but they are definitely not interested in keeping you as a customer. The company is completely worthless!
4-0 out of 5 stars Great Handheld for Students
I bought myself a Palm M515 after I destroyed the screen on my M100.I have been using the M515 for three years and have had no problems whatsoever.Any student interested in a Palm handheld should give the M515 serious consideration. This device has proven very useful in tracking homework, projects, and tests.Only complaint is no wireless capabilities without the use of Palm's bulky add-on modem (Nearly every school has their own wireless network). ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing
The Compaq iPAQ 3765 is an amazing PDA. Well, it's not really a PDA, it's an actual Pocket PC. You have to see it to believe it. It's got Pocket PC 2002, and it's awesome. It's got Microsoft Pocket Word, Pocket Excel, and basically Pocket outlook just spread into mini programs. If you don't want to sit at your computer and read your emails cause your in a rush, just sync your computer with your pocket pc and your ENTIRE inbox will be synced to your iPAQ. I basically created my iPAQ into a super iPAQ. I got the keyboard(which is fantastic), the dual slot flash card expansion pack, a 256 meg flash card, and a MGM flash card reader. A Palm pilot is NOTHING compared to what this thing can do. THey have so many application for this pocket pc. You can play your MP3's on windows media player, watch movies or clips on PocketTV(Download the software), Play games such as the Famous Age of Empires(INCREDIBLE) Rayman, Packman and many more. Print with it, play multiplayer games, make cartoons on PocketFlipbook(Download) surf the net(Need wireless), and more. Plus they now have mad an espansion card so you can get PHONE SERVICE on it. This is one of the greatest Technological creations ever.

5-0 out of 5 stars awsome

4-0 out of 5 stars A high school junior
It helped me tremendously when doing my school work, This is because I could type notes on it (with an ipaq compatible keyboard, not included) without using a BULKY and indiscreet laptop, and easily EDIT my notes (sooo awesome and better than using the old fashioned wire-bound paper notebooks) when I transfer the notes to my computer. Highly recommended for students. BUT, the aspects of it that helped me in school are ones that you could find in almost any PDA retailing about $150 and up (due to "DocumentsToGo" and "4.0 student" software. Both are very necessary for students). You see, I had a Sony Clie SJ20 before I upgraded to this, and I realized that both did the same in terms of school work. Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Great idea, made shabby
I bought this for my 7 year old (2nd grade) who unfortunately has my personal affliction of not being able to spell that well.We tried the traditional route of book dictionaries but they were heavy and cumbersome and took lots of time to find the words.Especially if it was a derivative of a word like friendly instead of friend. The longer it took the more frustrated he became and his homework was starting to suffer. Most kids limit their writing to what they can easily spell and his work looked like it was being produced by a 4 year old.I figured this product could fill four shoes at once.First, if you can't spell this will probably be able to locate the correct word. This is the answer to that age old question of how am I supposed to look it up if I don't know how to spell it?If you spell it wrong it searches and comes up with a number of different possibilities and usually your word is on that list. And if your child is young like mine and is not the best reader yet (3rd grade level) it will actually pronounce the word so he can be sure the right word has been located.Secondly, it can hold his spelling words that he gets every week.So at night he can take this to bed with him and study without a book or paper. You can also play games with just your spelling words so it reinforces the spelling without the traditional sit down and write it 4 or 5 times (or sometimes 15 if you really can't get it, ugh).Third, he doesn't want me reading with him any more and I don't want to make an issue out of that if I don't have to.But how could I be sure that he was reading the correct words? If he gets stumped by a word all he has to do is plug it in and it pronounces it for him and he can move on (he usually knows it from there) but even if he is not familiar with the definition he can get it right then and there. And if the definition contains words he doesn't know it can speak it to him or he can choose to look up those words.Using the product is very intuitive and easy. With just one lesson he as able to negotiate around the dictionary with little or no help.As I am doing things around the house I will hear the computer voice and know that he is using it.Finally, we started to play scrabble and my husband and I let him use the dictionary to see if he can make words with his tiles. Now every time he asks how to spell something we say look it up and we no longer get that horror stricken look.3-0 out of 5 stars Speaking part is not aggrable with standard phonetics
I agree with dictionary part. It works great for kids. The speaking part is generated as from synthesis of computer speaking. Which isnot same as standard phonetic practice. I thnik technology didn't match to the existing phonetic practice.I will prefer Franklin HW 216 Homework Wiz Plusinstead of this one for the given price. Also the cover designdid not take consideration of kids, they are fragile. My kidbrokethe cover in the second day.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent product for students with learning disabilities
The speaking feature is a Godsend for students with reading disabilities.Excellent phonetic spell checking feature with homonym support (students can easily figure out when to use to, too or two, or their, there, they're, etc with built in features).Best for elementary, some middle school age students.I do wish there was a way to upgrade to their larger dictionary. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Worthless
I also purchased this item from a local store and we could not read it. The words were broken up. We purchased a new battery thinking it was low and got the same exact results. We returned the item to the store but purchased another online thinking the first one was just defective. We were wrong, the second one was EXACTLY the same. My son needed one for school so I finally bought the Franklin Spelling Ace and it is awesome.

1-0 out of 5 stars Garbage
Don't waste your money on this one folks. I bought this as a birthday gift for my mother and it's very defective. The LCD display has two large non functional strips in it, rendering it useless. This occured after only one day of light use. Seiko wants to charge us for the shipping there and back to replace it, which to Japan is pretty pricey. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Good unit, but poor battery, and no backup battery..
A nice upgrade to the 1550 Aero PDA, but the battery has very short life, and the unit has no internal memory save battery - so it loses *everything* if the battery runs dowmn.
1-0 out of 5 stars Dissapointing
I bought this product January last year and just throw it to the garbage bin yesterday.
5-0 out of 5 stars Palm is but a distant memory
After about 6 months of having a refurbished Handspring Treo 90 (check out that review of mine too) I decided to try something new. I desperately wanted to an iPAQ which has windows built into it. How cool can you get by practically having a computer built right into your hands? Most of the ones that had just come out were much too expensive, and the newest one was a cell phone which didn't get too good of reviews on Amazon, not to mention, I already have a cell phone. Then I saw the Compaq iPAQ 3835, which immediately kicked my PDA lust up a notch.

2-0 out of 5 stars Ok for a beginner, but lacks in advanced functions
Pros-
5-0 out of 5 stars most reliable and battery efficient palm I've ever used
I have had a zire (bought it open-box off of [...]) for about 2 years and it has performed admirably. While this palm has some very well-known limitations, it has (and is still doing) everything I need it to.
1-0 out of 5 stars Unreliable
I need a palm to have my calander and address book on hand at all times. This model proved to be extremely inefficient. The lack of backlighting meant that often I could not see what was on the screen and it's memory would empty from one moment to the next. I would be stuck with no calander or address book. I contacted the company by email and the only advice they had was to keep the Palm seperate from my cell phone. This I did, to no avail, the Palm continues to discharge it's memory.
