Editorial Review

Casio's DBC310-1 men's databank watch is ideal for busy people who love the convenience of having telephone numbers and other essential data right at their fingertips. The watch lets you store 300 pages of either Telememo (names, telephone numbers) or Schedule-memo (messages, months, days, times) data with up to 8 digits and 12 numerals per page. A built-in keypad facilitates data entry, and its EEPROM (electrically erasable programmable read-only memory) retains your data even when the battery goes dead. So don't worry: you'll never have to retype it all.Read more

Features

  • 300 pages of Telememo and Schedule memo
  • Words up to 8 letters and numbers up to 12 numerals can be memorized
  • Auto sort function
  • Initial character search function
  • 1/100 second stopwatch

4-0 out of 5 stars please up date the watch
This is my second dbc310-1.I like the multi-functions. but I thank two things ought to be changed. (1) Change the band to a material other than rubber.(2) Change the numbers on the keys so they don't ware off as quick as they do.

5-0 out of 5 stars i have worn casio watches for about 30 years
had identical watch for years so very familiar with watch. i knew what i wanted as my old one is misplaced but in bad shape from my years of abuse. i love that my "little black book" is on my wrist. i even keep phone #'s for pizza hut, electric company ect. saves a lot of time and grief. has a timer that will go off only once or continually starts another cycle over and over untul shut off. i have it set to go off every year on my anniversary. i do not have to reset it, it goes off every year at the same time. this feature alone can be a life saver to forgetfull guys and more than the cost of the watch in expensive resturants if you forgot your anniverary!!! only watch i will and have worn for 30 years. i ordered this late aug 25, they shipped it on the 26th from new york, i had it in florida on the 27th!!! talk about blazing shipping!!! will definitely deal with again!!!
4-0 out of 5 stars Good product - with two exceptions
I have had three of these watches in the past few years. They function well, do what they'e supposed to do, and are very helpful. However, the printed alphabetic characters underneath each button will wear off in about 18 months, after which you haved to memorize which button corresponds to which alpahbet character. Not as hard as you might think, but irritating.Secondly, the watch case pin holes where the watch band pin attaches the band to the case will tend to erode or pull out over time.I've had to replace one perfectly good watch because I couldn't get a replacement band to attach. ... At only 4.7 by 3.2 inches square and 0.4 inches thick, the Palm Vxhandheld is truly pocket sized; however, this model sports a hefty 8 MB of RAM.The Palm Vx handheld also sports a sleek exterior that looks supercool--anintangible value to be sure, but one that's hard to argue with. Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Rock Solid
I bought my Palm Vx for six dollars at a thrift store a year ago and I've never had a problem with it. I own a IIIxe, an m500, and a Handspring Visor Deluxe, and the Vx and the Visor are my favorites. The 3.5.3 OS on the Vx seems to be rock solid-no crashes or freezes. The construction also is very solid. It was made in the USA, which I suspect is the reason for the high quality. Beware of PDA's made in China! The case on my m500 (made in China) became loose not long after I bought it and when I tried to tighten the screws they just stripped. I also get good battery life on the Vx, about a month per charge. With all the problems I read about concerning the latest generation of Palm PDA's, I can't help but think that Palm peaked with older models like the III series and the Vx. You really can't go wrong with the Vx, especially at today's prices. You'll have a reliable PDA with enough memory to add plenty of applications and it won't cost you an arm and a leg. Tip: if you want the Notepad app on your Vx (or older Palm), download Notes! 1.1 for free at palmgear.com.

2-0 out of 5 stars Crashed three times
I don't see why this item is getting good reviews. It's crashed three times, losing everything. Now the battery won't completely charge.I never could get it connected to the computer.Makes me wonder about Palm.

5-0 out of 5 stars Still worth it
In 2005, there are a lot of PDA called Pocket PC, but when you look at palm Vx, you will love it. You are able to put it in your suit or handbag and its glass screen provides you a crystal clear writing. I only need a PDA that take care my telephone list, my personal finance and bible reading. I don't need to listen MP3 or watching DVD on the road, and this palm just meet my need. You will love to carry it with you everywhere you go.

One of the nice things about Windows CE devices is that manufacturers don't have to stick to a specific design. They can make large screens or small screens, add keyboards or rely solely on the touch screen for input, and basically do whatever they want. Hewlett-Packard decided to make a do-anything device when they designed the Jornada 720, and on most counts they have succeeded.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Good memories but you can't go home again
I am on my 2nd Jornada 720; the first one I positively loved, but in the rush to upgrade (and free up some money) I sold it in 2003.
4-0 out of 5 stars Consider This Before Accepting Negative Reviews
The HP Jornada 720 (the final model of this line was the 728) is the finest, practical design mobile Handheld Computing device ever made. The Jornada rival is the NEC MobilePro 780-800 line. Both clamshell, mini-laptop looking, devices were high quality and expensive (average retail was over $1,000).
5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent little machine
I bought my Jornada 720 three years ago on ebay for a fraction of the "new" price - and I love this machine. The best thing is instant startup (unlike any laptop, which takes forever to start), and of course its size and battery life (again longer than any laptop).I added a 64MB card, and use another Compact Flash card to store and transfer large files from and to my deskotop. ActiveSync works fine too, but it is slower.

1-0 out of 5 stars Mine Died
My Tungsten T# just died.It is in a forzen state. It will not reboot or even turn off.It is just over a year old and I am now looking for a new PDA.

1-0 out of 5 stars Palm T3 disaster
I was about to write my miserable experience in agonizing detail, until I found that others have traveled the same path. It is a pity that a product that has come so far was (in my case, also) mercilessly deserted by its maker in the clinches - in this case a hotsync failure that eventually destroyed not only the data stored in the handheld but also the backups of those data that were religiously placed on the "official"
4-0 out of 5 stars Still a great PDA in (almost) 2006
If you're in the market for a PDA designed with the businessperson in mind, here are some reasons why you may still want to consider the T3 as we approach 2006:

I was surprised to see this item rated as low as it is on this site. This is a wonderful product and I have always found the word I was looking for.(Maybe we have a newer version?)Besides a dictionary, it has the date and time, word games, a calculaor and a phonebook. We love it!Good-bye heavy dictionary!

3-0 out of 5 stars great for young teens

1-0 out of 5 stars Disappointing
I thought this was something I would use and enjoy. After just a few uses I can't be bothered with it. Most of the words I tried to looked up were not there. The Palm IIIxe handheld builds on earlier Palm III models by offering more memory and more options. Its 8 MB of RAM (four times the memory of the popular Palm IIIe) and 2 MB of flash ROM keep track of all your appointments, memos, to-do items, expense items, and e-mail, plus you can add thousands of third-party applications. Although the Palm IIIe and IIIx models have ample memory for many users, the Palm IIIxe better supports users who rely upon their organizer for data-heavy operations.Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Might be nice if it worked
I ordered this from a reseller, cg_enterprises@tds.net. The unit arrived without a cradle to charge it. I emailed the reseller and was told it would be sent overnight. Four days later it has not arrived. When I contacted the reseller again, I received the following professional response: "Bite Me!".
5-0 out of 5 stars long time user..
I still use my palm IIIxe.. bought it in 2001 from Amazon.Actually this is my second one, my first one bit the dust, so I bought a refurb for $39.00 and it synced up with the 4.1 OS... it is great for addresses and calendar + todos... I also type memos with a keyboard when I'm in the field. Also this is used daily from am to pm... at night I dl avantgo and read news from the otherside of the world before bed...
4-0 out of 5 stars Quality But No Frills PDA
I just bought this PDA used from Amazon and I'm pretty pleased with it.It's not color which I don't care about, but I am having a bit of a hard time seeing the screen well.I have had a terrible time getting it to synch correctly with Outlook and I couldn't get it to synch at all with Palm Desktop 3.5.3.No clue what the problem is, but after 2 hours trying to figure it out, I just gave up.I use Outlook Express, not Outlook and it took a lot of trial and error, but I can get it to synch names and addresses, but I can NOT get email to work since i don't use Outlook as my default mail handler.So..if that fits your situation and you want to synch for email and download from AVantgo, then do not buy this. However, I just want it for names and addresses to replace an old trusty Sharp Wizard that they don't make anymore.I really loved my Sharp though. What i like about the Palm IIIxe is that it's battery-operated (2 AAAs)- i honestly don't even fathom why people complain about this feature - they're nuts. The battery operated PDAs are the way to go because they can last forever in your purse and you don't have to remember to charge it.If the battery is dead while you're on the go - just run to a convenience store and buy AAAs.That simple. The Palm IIIxe seems pretty sturdy, but we'll see in the long run.Either with Palm or Sharp, this beats carrying around a paper and pencil organizer. The person I bought from on Amazon was great and honest too. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Design Flaw
I received this as a gift over one year ago.I did not put it to use at that time because the screen is hard to read... and my Palm XIIIE was working perfectly.Recently, I bought a new computer which did not have a LPT ports so I decided to use the Zire which synchronizes via USB.The big problem is that it is uncompatible with my cell phone. If my cell phone rings all data in the handheld is lost.According to Palm Support they should not be close to each other, not easy being a female who carries both products in the same bag.I never had a problem like that with my previous Palm.

5-0 out of 5 stars Still doing its job after 3 years!
I have carried this PDA in my front pocket for three years. After numerous collisions with furniture and such, it still works as new. The metal case and folding design keep me from replacing this with a newer PDA. My only complaint would be the lack of Mac support.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great GPS for driving
I have used GPS's for eight years on a regular basis. I use two Garmins and Mircrosoft Streets and Trips. Streets and Trips is a excellent program and the receiver picks up signals quickly. The drawback is that I needed to have my laptop in my vehicle to use.
4-0 out of 5 stars Navman gets you there
I have not had the Navman 550 love enough to use it often.I tried it on a trip of 100 miles to our daughter's home.I used my usual route which is the shortest that I have found and the Navman wanted me to go another way.As I got closer to my destination the Navman picked up on my route and gave good directions. There are a couple of things that I have been disappointed with. One is the on/off switch. It is on the back and one must use the stylus to operate it.It is impossible to get to the back to operate the switch when the Navman is mounted in the car.One must remove the Navman from the mount in order to operate the on/off switch. The other disappointment is that the instructions that came with it indicated that software downloads could be obtained at their U.R.L.When I tried to get downloads they were not available at their site.I am looking forward to using this GPS unit on an upcoming trip through six states.

I bought a Palm Zire72 back in April, 2005 for $299.00 and it has proven to be money down the drain.I experienced the screen freezing up on me which required a hard reset procedure thereby resulting in a loss of all information.I sent it back for repair around August, 2005.They returned it, supposedly repaired, and I experienced the same problems with it after this first repair.Around May, 2006, it was sent back for another repair and I am again experiencing the same problem. The previous two "repairs" were done at no cost to me.The company now says that they will repair it at a cost to me because it is out of warranty. The company, notwithstanding the language of its warranty, should, in my opinion, stand behind its product. The product has proven to be unreliable and a headache.Be forewarned.I rated this product with one star because there was no lower alternative.

2-0 out of 5 stars Terrible! Don't waste your money.
I bought the Zire 72s as an upgrade to my previous black and white Palm that I had no problems with. It has been nothing but a lemon since I got it. Often when I turn it on it has lines going across the screen and has to be turned off and then on again to get rid of them. The graffiti is terrible and rarely works. I have to reset it all the time. Customer support is terrible and did nothing to rectify the problems. I even sent it to them at one point and they sent it back in exactly the same condition I sent it to them. I don't think they even looked at it. After my experience with this Palm, I will never buy Palm again. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars not comprehensive enough
The dictionary is not comprehensive enough, especially to the one whose english is not the first language.

4-0 out of 5 stars Franklin Dictionary/Calculator/databank
I bought the Franklin MWD-450 for my 13 year old daughter to use at school for Language class vocabulary. She loves it.No need to wait for a dictionary or for a computer station to open up.With 5 computer stations in the class, it is time comsuming and most students wind up with homework.A couple of her friends have now purchased the Franklin MWD-450 as well to use in class.

4-0 out of 5 stars My personal review
Personally, I find this item is very useful.Though some words might not be in it but on the other side it has many advantages. It has short and brieft meanings which are very understandle.Second a calculator and games that you can increase your vocabularies.Third, small and light weigh.Overall, It's pretty good for a cheap price like this. ... 2-0 out of 5 stars Great PDA if the backlight doesn't burn out
I've had my PDA for about a year and never had a major problem however one month after the extended warantee expired my backlight burned out.The color screen is useless without it.This is a chronic problem with the sony Clie's.They offer very little support for this problem if your expensive pda burns out.A know design flaw that cost as much as the pda to fix.Don't buy a sony Clie if you can't afford to replace the unit after a year.

1-0 out of 5 stars Unreliable junk
This is one of the worst products of any kind that I have ever bought in my entire life. My first one lost power after a month, even though it was charged and never came back on. They tried a new battery, but the gizmo was dead. So, I got the replacement. Heck, there can be a bad apple in every barrel.

5-0 out of 5 stars Classic still working
I have been using this model watch for 10 years now.I love it, and I just checked in to check that it is still available (I'm happy to see that it is).It has all the features I want.I am a runner and a scientist. It keeps precise time, up to 100 lap times, two time zones, five alarms, etc..If you turn off the lighting (which is still available when needed) the battery will last about five years. The straps need to be replaced more often (every two-three years). If anyone finds a better watch they should let me know!

4-0 out of 5 stars Review of Timex Watch for Interval Timing
The watch itself works fine and chimes out the intervals exactly as programmed but I found the instructions to be printed in type that so small that they were hard to read. Also the instructions would be easier to follow if they were set up in a flow chart type format. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Not for the Serious Reader
I bought this because it sounded like such a great idea.
1-0 out of 5 stars Worked for five minutes
This product worked for about five minutes but then failed. After 4 resets, it has remained stuck on the date. I'll be returning it.

2-0 out of 5 stars Still going to look
I received this as a gift for Christmas and I have two main complaints.First, and more important, I would say 1/3 of the words I look up are not in this product.I have a decent vocabulary, but I'm no lexicographer, and it's frustrating not to find so many words. The second complaint is that the buttons are difficult to push and I wish the product would default to "dictionary mode" when I turn it on, rather than always have to push an extra button to get there. It is a dictionary after all--why would I buy this if I really wanted a calculator? It's a nice feature, but bury that somewhere else and make it easy for me to look up my word without having to push extra buttons (which are hard to push!)I'm sure there's something better out there...now I'm off to find it. ...
