2-0 out of 5 stars Not bad but not the greatest
Very hard to use with direcTV since you have to have the reciever box in order to change channels. volume is really low when you watch tv so you have to turn it up really loud and scares the hell out of me when I get an instant message cause its soo loud. The video quality is average its not sharp and crisp. Also has a really slow reaction speed. When i control the DirecTV reciever it takes about 3-4 seconds for it to show on screen which at times is very annoying. The recording quality is so so when i watched a playback there were horizontal lines everywhere and was a little bit blurry. And on DirecTV you cant choose shows that you want to record becuase you have to set it to the channel the show is on and then set the time you want it to record because you can't control the channels from your computer. You basically set it on channel 3 then set the channel on the reciever. As for the software, cant even use guide plus becuase its not cable.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent addtion to Windows Media Center PC
I added this card to a Windows MCE 2005 machine that I built, and I'm very pleased with the results.Live TV and recordings are clear and sharp, radio playback is good, and the remote, which works through walls (I'm using it about 25 feet away), works fine with MCE 2005, and some of the buttons are customizable.
1-0 out of 5 stars IS NOT SUPPORTED BY MS WinXP MCE 2005
Just bought this card since I did not notice it was not in the list of supported cards on MCE site. Will return it tomorrow.

I purchased this product along with a new LCD monitor. I had a problem connecting the DVI interface (it was MY problem (fleshware)) and I called the helped desk, during the day and got a real person who gave me a real answer that solved the problem. BTW, the video card works great also.

5-0 out of 5 stars Did you know? 256 isn't necessarily better...
When video card technology makes the jump from, say 32 to 64, or 128 to 256, the first few models are never as good as the latest lower speed. One would think so because of the PRICE, but you can see it in how the technology develops while an amount is popular. For example, the 256 that first came out is about 1/10th the quality of today's latest 256.However when that first 256 came out, the best 128s were much better.THIS card, though it is 256, is one of the earlier models and most later 128mb cards are much more efficient.Get a comparably priced 128 or look at 256s starting around $100.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not compatible with HDMI
This card has DVI output, but does not work with an HDMI TV. HDMI is DVI video plus copy protection plus audio. ATI did not say why it didn't work, but they "escalated" the problem to see if there was anything they could do. Never heard back from them. Doing some research I think the problem is their implementation of DVI does not output HDCP (the copy protection scheme built-in in HDMI). My PowerBook's DVI output works just fine with the same cable/adaptor and TV so I know for sure the problem is the card. I had to return this card as it was intended to be used with my big screen TV.

An absolutely briliant set of headphones, crystal clear, usb adapter which can be very useful, and durable. The mike is perfect and the suround audio is amazing. A absolute for any gaming pro, or just a briliant set of headphones for audio junkies.

3-0 out of 5 stars Great sound quality; hurts to wear them!
I use these for Skype teleconferences and World of Warcraft. While the audio quality of the mic is great and the headphones is quite good, the pressure on my ears makes them unbearable to wear after an hour. I'm tempted to just wear them around my neck to use the mic and plug in $10 earphones for my longer meetings.

5-0 out of 5 stars Just upgraded to The 6800XT
I had an EVGA 6800 With 128mb but after upgrading to the 6800XT With 256 mb Frame rates almost doubled in most games. It may not be the fastest card on the market but for most gamers its plenty. The performance difference is very noticeable and well worth $130.00 spent.

5-0 out of 5 stars Just what an AGP gaming system needs
Did a lot of research and this was the absolute best in price/performance to upgrade my legacy AGP system to a hardcore gaming machine. It was $10 less when I bought it though. The power requirements state 450w power supply but I'm running fine with 300w. I actually have a CD-ROM, two hard disks, and three PCI cards running as well on this machine but it has no extra fans other than that of the CPUs.

I have 3 weeks working with this card and I can't describe how happy I'm !!
2-0 out of 5 stars If it doesn't work, here is something to try
I bought my PNY Verto 5500 AGP a month ago and after numerous system freezes (within 10 minutes of boot), I finally found this document.I went through all the steps listed in the reponse from UncleMacro testing after each step to see if the problem was resolved. The last one (number 5) actually fixed the problem by slowing down my AGP bus to 1x.I can run all my 3D applications now without the system freezing.Hope this works for any of you that may be experiencing the same problem.

This card is amazing.I've heard so many stories about how hard it is to get Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion running well, and I've had no problems with this card.I can turn the graphics settings fairly high and still get a good framerate.I didn't realize this game was so gorgeous until I replaced my old Radeon X600 with this card. For at little as this card costs, it is amazing how well it works.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent inexpensive PCI graphics card
This card is perfect for my needs. I like to use a second monitor on my computer so this card and the price are perfect. The card Plugs and plays into any available PCI slot. Very easy to set up and configure through you display icon in the control panel. I haven't used for gaming but it is perfect for everyday computer use and surfing the internet, including video etc. Chrisp clear colors and the speed seems normal and fine for my needs. You cannot beat this graphic card at this inexpensive price. highly recommended - I've bought 3 in the past year for use on different computers. I am be a very satisfied customer. The least expensive cards I could find at retail were in the $60-$300 range. This card was in the $30's. Well worth the price for a standard PCI video card.

5-0 out of 5 stars 2nd viedo card - dual monitor system
I purchased this video card so I could run a 2nd monitor on my system. I don't need an expensive, high speed video game rendering monster of a video card. Just simple everyday windows desktop functionality. This card is perfect for that, nice price, high resolution, and full 32 bit color pallet.

3-0 out of 5 stars If you have Intel integrated graphics beware...
Apparently Nvidia drivers can play havoc with xp...especially on systems where you have the onboard Intel Integrated Graphics controller. Tried repeatedly to get a stable installation but failed. It was not the fault of the card (verified on another machine), but apparently of the motherboard-graphic card combo. If you have a compaq s5100nx I would think twice about this card. ... Read more

    1-0 out of 5 stars ATi Radeon 9550 256MB AGP 8X
I bought one of these cards at Christmas and my wife bought the 9550XL they look just alike and both are a terrible card for the money we paid. She paid $100.00 at Newegg and I bought mine at zipzzoomfly for $89.99 we both paid to much for these cards. I just upgraded last month to a new Nvidia 6200A. I paid less for the card and it outperforms it in everyway. I would never buy another of these even if all I did was surf the web. They run hot a cause lockups and ATi when I talked with them said they were aware of the problem and recommended a fan. Why did'nt they put one on I asked, and they said it was due to cost. There technical support is the worst I have ever seen. As for gaming my daughter runs a 64MB 4X SIS 315 made by Elite group and it smokes this card. I know this because I used Aquamark to bench test it. Pay less and buy a Nvidia card with a factory fan and be happy. I am ordering another one of the Nvidia 6200A's for my wife.

2-0 out of 5 stars The colors are great but kills budget system performance....
I purchased this AGP to run 3d software occasionally and not really for games. I updated the BIOS, DirectX, and video drivers before installing the card and loading it's support software. The manual was a general manual that wasn't specific to my card. It recommend exiting hardware wizard and running the ATI install. The amount of software that was installed was overwhelming and unnecessary. All you need is Catalyist and the drivers. Not file player, ALL-IN-ONE-WONDER, REMOTE-WONDER, Multimedia Library, unless you plan to watch TV on the PC. (I don't). The card has no fan but a large heat sink. I have a Sempron 3100+ with 1 GB ram, additional cooling fans and 300 Watts. With all that the system was shutting down from overheating. I lessen the resolution and refresh rate to no avail. The card showed rich cooler and the built in 3d configuration, pc check and screen savers worked with no problem. But just doing web surfing, playing quicktime, running 3D screensaver causes overheating. No games. The video payback was choppy. My onboard video that came with the motherboard outperformed the card but can't run 3D. As a test, the card couldn't run even the most basic 3D game demo even in it's lowest detail settings. I returned the card after that. The overheating and shutdowns went away. It maybe a great card for larger systems but for budget system it's a performance killer. It has overheating issues. The support software did little to prevent system crashes. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Quality product that runs better then I could have imagined!!!
I had hoped for an exteneded life for my AGP rig but I honestly didnt expect such an improvement over my 6600GT, which in its own right was a very good overclocable card.
5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome Video card
I bought this card to do gaming. This card runs all of my games at high settings.I went from low settings on my old card to high/very high settings depending on game.I am running this in a shuttle Xpc case and it fit with no problems and the internal heat has not increased any that I can detect.Drivers ran out of the box with no problems.First Ndivia card I have owned.Highly recommended

4-0 out of 5 stars Great, but.....
This is a great video card at bottom line, but I bought the card in February 2005 because I knew that my current video card (ATI Radeon 7600) wouldn't work to well soon because it was so old. Little did I know that this card was about a year old by that time. Overall this card is great to anyone who plays games like Call of Duty 2 but on COD2 I even encounter problems on some levels depending on the graphic amount. If you want a decent video card that can run the present day top P.C. games with good speed and graphics that will amaze you but compared to how good the newer ones are today (ATI Radeon X800 for example) it won't look as good. But it is still very good.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very good card
I bought this card to replace my ndivia Gforce MX in my Dell 4550 2.53Ghz XP Pro.First, I made sure that I had the correct AGP driver, then uninstall the old driver, shut down, installed the new card and installed ATI driver from the CD (I didn't download).Everything went very smoothly! The ATI 9600 handled the Microsoft FS2002 extremely well with all the efffects turned to maximum; no jitters what so ever.I'm not a hardcore gamer therefore I couldn't say about other games, but I'm very happy with the results I got. I also like the silent cooling :-) and DVI connection.

5-0 out of 5 stars Easy to Install - Wonderful Results
I am no computer techie, but I do know how to do some things inside a computer. On a scale of 1 to 10 for ease of installation, I give this card a solid 9. The instructions were easy to follow and I had no problems.Read more
