5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome for gaming and sports!!!
Well I ordered this TV about a month ago and all I can say is that im so impressed that its hard to explain it. Watching football games in HD and playing video games in 1080i is just great. The speakers are kinda weak but who buys a TV for the speakers!! Its non-glossy screen is great at keeping down the glare and you cant even tell. I wish more TV companies would broadcast in widescreen so I could take better advantage of it but you cant have everything!!! This is an all around awesome TV with an even better amazon price!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Well designed with minor flaws...
I have a mostly Sony Audio/Video system. I can't help but compare my Samsung LCD TV to a Sony product. 5-0 out of 5 stars Very Pleased
Ordered the TV on October 2 - had it delivered on the 12th - could have had it delivered a day or so earlier, but I was golfing...Eagle service was excellent.I contacted them as soon as I saw on the Amazon tracking system that the TV was on its way to San Diego from Reno and set up the delivery. Eagle also sent me a letter which arrived on the day the set was delivered. The delivery guy was ontime, courteous and helpful. He gave me enough time to verify that the set was not damaged and would at least power up without serious screen problems. He took the packing box. When I got the set fully hooked up to the cable DVR box, it was apparent that the picture quality was substandard.I called Samsung and talked to a very knowledgeable CSR who finally was able to determine that my cable company was not delivering an HD signal.A call to Time Warner solved the problem...turns out that my DVR (which I had installed a couple of months earlier) was not set to pass through HD signals...a quick checking of a couple of boxes in the Motorola MOXI HDTV setup screen instantly brought in a crystal clear high definition picture.

4-0 out of 5 stars awesome
I was all set to order this through amazon because I just couldn't justify paying over $400 more just to be able to pick it up (and return it if there was a problem). However, some of the bad reviews prevented me from doing so. I've had problems with shipping companies before so I know I wouldn't want to deal with that crp. 4-0 out of 5 stars IS IT REALLY TRUE HIGH DEFINITION????
The Samsung's spec does not clearly state if the HD-TV accepts a 1080P video signal.I would ask this question because the Blue-ray DVD technology being introduced produces amazing images on a TRUE HD-TV that can accept 1080P video signal.Presently HD-TVs are video rated at 1080i.
5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Choice
I, like many other, spent significant time researching LCD televisions. C-NET and others advised the Sony over the Samsung. I have seen both in action at the homes of friends and my eye viewed the Samsung as every bit as good in picture quality if not better than the Sony. So the decision was made on the Samsung based on features and price, anywhere from $200 to $500 cheaper based on my research. The next decision was whether to risk making such a high dollar purchase online, Amazons price being $400 to $600 less than the brick and mortar stores. After reading many reviews here on Amazon, I decided to pull the trigger and order from Amazon. It was an EXCELLENT CHOICE. The set was ordered on a Friday morning, and arrived via EGL on Amazons super saver free freight rate on Tuesday. Three business days or five calendar days. The set beat my satellite installer so I wasn't expecting much from the picture as I pulled it out of the box. I set it up to make sure it was functioning, and as expected the standard def channels were fuzzy. For kicks I connected my cheap Radio Shack rabbit ears into the antenna connection, and went searching for over the air high definition. What I found was that all the networks carried digital channels as did the fringe channels. I am getting Fox, NBC,CBS, CW, and the MY CHANNEL stations in either 480p or 720p. I also get a PBS HD signal in 1080i. When the networks broadcast their hi-def signals they all come in in either 720p or 1080i. All this on a cheap ten dollar Radio Shack rabbit ears antenna. I have a friend who bought a DLP projection, something I was looking at, and he only receives a 480p signal. Samsung obviously got it right with their built in HD tuner. Samsung got it right with their picture as well. Have had none of the picture issues C-NET talks about. Blacks are definately black, whites are very white, no ghosts, no shadows and no picture lag. I highly recommend this set. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Beware of the Buzz
When my TV arrived, I had the delivery guy wait while I plugged it in.When I did so, I was able to hear an audible buzzing coming from the unit, which is not normal according to all the electronics message boards that I did my research on.I then refused delivery and shipped it back to Amazon and will try ordering again, but did not want to take a chance with Amazon's strict policy about not exchanging TVs over 27 inches. It looked great for the few minutes it was at my place and I think it will be a great TV if I am able to get one that does not buzz. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Value
I purchased this TV a couple of weeks ago and absolutely love it, and I haven't even connected HD yet (Comcast to add HD service next week). The analog stations look beautiful, which is very important since most channels don't come in HD.
5-0 out of 5 stars Best plasma value out there
I researched heavily before I made this purchase, and my sentiments favored an LCD TV, but I couldn't get past the picture superiority of this Panasonic plasma. When the product hit my price point, I ordered through Amazon and after a month I'm very happy with my purchase.
1-0 out of 5 stars It lasted just four days.
The set operated for four days and completely lost all picture and sound.Called Panasonic Customer Service and after several calls back and forth, finally got a call from a local warranty service. It would be at least fifteen days before they could get to come and look at it and maybe not then because the outside technician was on call for jury duty and they didn't have any idea when they might get to it.Called Panasonic Customer Service again and they got some other warranty station to call and look at it.However, it would be at least two days before they could even come to check it.When they arrived, they had no idea what was wrong, so they picked the tv up and took it to shop and it has been ten days and we still don't have the set back.Supposed to be returned tomorrow.

I just received this TV yesterday evening.Upon opening it, I couldn't help to notice that I had received a "used" item vs. the new one I ordered.Needless to say, it will be going back.Amazon has informed me that they will be sending me a replacement, so until then, I'll keep my fingers tightly crossed!
5-0 out of 5 stars Great TV Very Good Price
I've had this TV for three weeks or so.The screen is beautiful and the contrast is super sharp.Standard def broadcasts look good but HD is absolutely gorgeous.I've watched more movies in the past three weeks than I have in the previous year.No kidding! It is really cool to watch a movie in the original aspect ratio.I love to watch the Kung Fu Channel on Dish Network.Bruce Lee like I've never seen him!
    2-0 out of 5 stars I got a dud
Received this TV from amazon last night and within 30 min of turning it on, the sound went out.I've had more time to mess with all the settings today and everything is set properly. It doesn't seem to matter what I have hooked up to it as far as A/V equip goes either.Right now it's a basic coax cable, but no matter what channel, when it messes up, the whole TV is going haywire. After turning it off and then back on it fixes the problem, but only for a minute or so.After multiple experiments, it stays on for about 30 min after sitting turned off for an extended period of time, then after turning it off and on, it will only work for about one minute after....I did that about seven times and every time the sound messed up.About half the time the video was also scrambled and then went out....simply disappointed and frustrated as now I have to deal with Samsung customer service....awesome. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Don't get ripped off on "Monster Cables"...
I felt compelled to post here after reading that somebody bought a "hundred dollar" Monster Cable.Your typical electronic retailer will push these cables pretty agressively (i.e. "You just spent thousands on a TV and now you won't spend a $100 on the proper cable??") These cables are a ripoff. I got my HDMI cable for $18 online. I suggest you search. All HDMI cables have to meet certain specs, whether they are $15 or $100.
5-0 out of 5 stars I would buy it again
The TV arrived 3 days ahead of schedule. It is light and the picture is amazing on high def. With regular cable the picture isn't fantastic but that is to be expected unless you get the high def package and have a new dish installed (assuming you are using dish). I bought the Toshiba HD-A1 HD DVD (399$ on Amazon), I'm blown away by the sound and picture quality. I had a blu-ray before returned it. Yes there is a battle between blu-ray and High def but for me 1000 bucks vs. 399 for a better picture speaks for itself. ... Read more

It varies by specific TV model, and not by brand. One Samsung TV may allow, while another may block. This information is not readily available on the checklist of features that you use to comparison shop, so find that out BEFORE you buy and get stuck like I did.I would totally return this TV had I not already thrown away the box. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Too many Digital Artifacts Visible
This Sony KDL40S2000 40" Bravia Flat Panel LCD HDTV is a bit disappointing. This unit brigs out a lot of imperfections in DVDs. Unless you get a pure digital signal, this HDTV seems to enhance imperfections in your video source. It's a good unit but I do not like how it enhances digital artifacts from many DVDs that I watched on it last weekend. Standard cable other than HD looks unacceptable. Perhaps the store was getting a weak signal.

5-0 out of 5 stars I love it
Outstanding in every way.HD picture is outstanding and hook up in very easy.Highly recommended!

5-0 out of 5 stars THE best HDTV for the money, period!
Like many others, I did all of the research and parked myself in the TV showrooms of Best Buy, Circuit City, Sound Advice, etc. and I can tell you without a doubt, that this 40" Sony Bravia had the best picture and sound quality of them all. Even beat out the 37" Sharp Acquos!

5-0 out of 5 stars Solid LCD Performer
Got this a week or so ago for a great price through Amazon and one of its partners. The picture quality is fantastic in both HD and SD.I've been really impressed with how it handles SD, especially since a lot of HD TVs make it look like crap.
5-0 out of 5 stars Stunning!

I bought this 1080p flat panel LCD television only yesterday, and probably haven't had enough time to put it through its paces to be writing this review, but I thought some first impressions might be helpful.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome TV!
Bought the TV a week back after months of agonizing over Sony XBR and Samsung, and I am glad of the choice I made. It's probably the best LCD tv I came across with eye-opening contrast. The picture is exceptionally clear, even for the SD programs. Obviously, I can't test 1080p, but its a probably a good thing to have for 'future-proofing'. ( I did see a Samsung demo of 1080p on this model...its quite impressive). The native resolution of 1920x1080 also works great for connecting to PC. Movie Picture mode produces great black levels comparable to Plasmas.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best 32" LCD TV on the market
I conducted an extensive and exhaustive review of all 32" LCD TVs currently available prior to making my TV selection.I narrowed my choices to the following: the Panasonic TC-32LX60, the Samsung LN-S3251D, and the Sony KDL 32S2010.All had excellent pictures, realistic color rendition and a fine balance between contrast and depth of black level.I eliminated the Panasonic because it did not have a PC input port which I though long term would be something I would use more and more of.Also the Panasonic did not have the quality depth of blacklevel the others had.The Samsung was eliminated since the high gloss black cabinet finish reflected room lights and you could see window reflections as well. This became more and more of a distraction as I watched the TV since my eyes tended to be drawn to those reflections on the panel surrounding the screen. I ultimately decided to go with the latest 32" Sony -- the KDL 32S2010 and can now report I am completely pleased with it.One additional advantage of the Sony is that it has very easy to read, understand and navigate owner's manual.Setting up the TV was a breeze. As a final point, Amazon (via J&R) had the best price on the TV of any online site. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great Unit
Received this unit and had it set up and operating in 20 minutes.Great picture with standard signal from Direct TV.Can't wait to see HDTV.This is the best name brand unit at 26" that I could find for less than $900.At $799 and free shipping it is the best deal around. As a prime customer, 1 day shipping cost a whopping $3.Paid for itself in one transaction.

2-0 out of 5 stars Does not handle SVIDEO inputs well.
I bought this tv so that I could upgrade to HD, but I also needed to play my recorded shows from my Replay TV which has a SVIDEDO and composite output. After purchasing the tv and hooking it up to my Replay via the SVIDEO input, the picture quality was poor with far to much pixelation. Tried all the different screen modes to no avail. Returned the tv the same day as I am not ready to retire my replay units. This tv may be fine for HD (which is the picture they have on display in the store), but if you are going to hook up older video equipment to it that outputs SVIDEO or composite video, you will be disapointed with the picture. The pixelation on these inputs becomes annoying whether you are 3 ft away or 6. I had much higher hopes for this tv.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for entry level: a technical review
This review is intended to be a little technical, so if you want an easy description of this TV, this would be it: it's a great TV with features most entry level LCD buyers are looking for: great contrast, decent response time, good color reproduction and an extensive jack panel including a FANTASTIC VGA PC connection.

3-0 out of 5 stars Disappointed customer
When we received the television, the stand was bent, therefore the television was leaning forward.Whenwe called sony to fix the problem under the in home warranty; we were told that it was damaged during shipping and that we would have to pay to have the part replaced. When we called amazon for the second time, we were told that we had to wait to receive an e-mail from the electronics department to see what they could do.This entire process has been very disapointing. After waiting over a month to receive the television and then being told that we had to pay to get it fixed has just left a sour taste for buying electronics online.

4-0 out of 5 stars Beware of Sony's HDMI
One of the attractions of this set is HDMI (High Def Module Interface). HDMI is currently defined as a single cable the transmits both Video and Audio. A very clean installation, via a single cable. However for Sony, for this set, you need a cable with a HDMI end that connects to the cable box, that then goes to a DVI connector (video only) on the Sony LCD, and THEN a separate audio cable. What a pain in the %#@%$#. Therefore no Digital Audio.

4-0 out of 5 stars Aspect feature undocumented limitation
Excellent set overall, but one misleading entry is in the manual which the factory confirmed to me is partly mistaken. The "wide zoom" feature for aspect control, magnifying etc., is shown with a separate panel entirely devoted to features applicable to high definition, wide screen sources. The manual fails to mention these functions work only on broadcast or cable tuner reception, and are not available on any external input, HDMI or component video -- such as a Sony high definition recorder for the broadcasts. The issue affects the extremely wide panavision movies which have to be rendered with horizontal black bars even on a 16:9 display to see the entire width -- which is how some are transmitted on HDNET for example (premium channels seem to adopt a full screen, pre-zoomed approach).Cable boxes have zoom features built-in which can expand these pictures, but the tv won't do it by itself, the way it handles low definition signals, and the very limited releases of early HD-dvd, blu ray players etc so far don't have it.The need for it is less with a wide screen to begin with, compared to old 4:3 screen format, but the pictures are shown almost 1/3 less than the vertical height of the screen.

Offering an incredible feature set and exceptional quality for its price, Samsung's fifth-generation 50-inch HP-S5053 plasma TV uses the company's proprietary electronic chassis and the latest DNIe enhancement circuitry to deliver outstanding brightness, contrast, and image clarity. 5-0 out of 5 stars The best 50 inch plasma at the best price
I sent a month reading reviews and in circuit city and best buy looking at plasmas. The samsung had the best picture and best setup.Amazon had the best price--shipping included and no sales tax--beat CC by $800.Ordered on a Wend and had it in one week.Shipping service was phenomenal. Not one problem.Had the set set-up and on in an hour and haven't left the couch since. Samsung and Amazon both get 5 stars!

5-0 out of 5 stars Very good plasma TV for the money
After shopping for several months I finally took the plunge and purchased this TV from a national chain.I finally decided plasma over DLP because of the vertical fading effect I saw with all the DLP sets. I took two of my own DVDs in to the store with me and made the staff there hook up a player so I could see both the fast action of The Matrix and the beautiful scenery of Spring, Summmer, Fall, Winter, Spring. The picture on the Samsung HP-S5053 was the second best of the many plasmas that I examined. The Pioneer had a better picture but was significantly more expensive.I do not use the built in speakers because I had an existing 5.1 speaker system.I really like theminimal black casing since the silver finishes are distracting-at least to my eye.
5-0 out of 5 stars Bang for the buck is definitely with this one
I bought this model in June from a local appliance store.I did lots of shopping... well over 4 weeks of going to stores and playing with the settings in a lot of them; and there are a couple of issues to be aware of.One is that when you are using the 4:3 mode on the TV to view 4:3 content the sidebars are silver... which is annoying and cant be changed... HOWEVER, if you use an HD-upconverter type DVD player with HDMI that goes away since aspect is changed by the DVD player. The other issue is that its only 1080i, which frankly is not a big deal, especially considering most HDTV this large under $5000 are as well.I was borrowing a 42" 3rd generation Dell plasma with about a 4000:1 contrast ratio from my company while i was shopping, and was really unhappy with the muddiness of darker onscreen areas of that tv, but I have to say this one looks GREAT.You can notice some muddiness if you have your contrast set too low and the picture quality of the DVD is poorly lit, buuuut honestly I keep mine set around 55% and it looks awesome.Of course with a plasma you dont want the contrast set to high if you want it to last longer and always avoid falling asleep to a dvd menu if you want to avoid burn in, but if you accidentally fall asleep (i did), it comes with a burn in erasing rolling pattern which is a really big comfort to the mind. Not to mention its a very sexy piece of furniture when not on.I can't speak for its sound system, because if you are spending 3 grand on a tv, you really should have a nice sound system and mute the tv anyway.I would recommend buying a plasma from a local appliance store for quite a few reasons... but chief among them people on here seem to be getting them smashed in transit frequently, which a local store is not going to let happen, and if it DID happen, you would avoid the nightmare I'm sure that has got to be.The only TV I saw that compared to this one was a Panasonic that was running over $1500 more expensive, and it did look nicer... but only about 100 dollars nicer.Of course there is a certain subjectivity to this, but if you read about non-defeatable DNIE or whatever and are nervous about this set, simply go out to somewhere they have them and play with the features and settings. The people that complain about this seem to not be going through the options. All you have to do is see it side by side with about any other plasma and it'll win you over. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great 37" LCD 1080p
You might be interested to know the exact width is 36&9/16".The picture is bright even at mid backlight and brightness settings.I am more than pleased with its black levels and white contrast. It also has minimal loss in picture quality at extreme viewing angles.Glare from my room light is not as noticeable on this set as it was on my last TV. This TV has a very good upconverter.I supply it 480i, 720p, & 1080i through its HDMI input and even the 480i looks better than it did on my old 32" Samsung CRT TV. I actually prefer to watch 480i content on a non-HD station because the TV upconverts it to fill the screen whereas 480i content on an HD station is usually broadcast in 720p with side bars to maintain the 4:3 aspect which doesn't look good to me.The 720p and 1080i content look amazing.480p from my DVD through the component (RGB) video connection also looks great. One negative I have may not be related to this set at all, but I'm not sure so I'll mention it... when I'm tuned to Discovery HD Theater, sometimes the camera panning action across a wide-angle view is jerky rather than smooth.

    5-0 out of 5 stars Sony KDL46S2000 46" BraviaGreat PictureA+++++
I am not sure what was one of the reviewer was talking about when it came to watching a VHS tape on the LCD TV, all I can say is that you can't put a crappy signal into a LCD and expect to get an high quality picture output. Know what you buy before you put a negative review. This LCD TV has a really sharp picture WHEN ITS USED WITH THE RIGHT SOURCE. I am very happy with mine. I would have liked to gotten the newer model that has more HDMI inputs as well as 1080P upgrades.

5-0 out of 5 stars sony, the one and only
yes, i was a little worried buying on the internet but boy was i wrong, amazon and eagle delivery service was awsome. The delivery service driver called me on wednesday and asked when would i like it delivered and i said friday a.m. i would be home,he was knocking on my door at 8:30 a.m. friday morning. It was great. As for the lcd tv, the hd stations and dvd's you couldn't get them any clearer,i mean unbelieveable. The non hd stations you need to play around with the settings abit but even those are as good as my regular sets in the house,no worse.Believe me i did my research before buying over a months time of reviewing and looking and talking to tech people and hi-end electronic stores and for the money, This set is the one.Very easy remote and set up,also very easy and quick to change the settings for different broadcasts in all formats so you get the best picture available. After a week i thought about a extended service plan and called sony and they sold me there plan which was less money than the one offered on amazon for a longer period with full coverage. Don't pass this deal up on amazon. You won't find a better one!

5-0 out of 5 stars Best TV for the money
This Sony 46" LCD is the best HDTV you can get for the money.1080i is the best you can receive off the air - you really don't need 1080p unless you have Blue-ray or HD-DVD.This model delivers near-perfect video in normal 720p or 1080i HDTV format.Plus for 114 bucks you can buy the perfectly matched Sony DVPNS75H 1080i upconverting DVD player for high-res DVD playback as a great interim alternative to currently overpriced Blue-ray technology. So unless you have five grand to spend on a TV/DVD system go for this S-series model with the NS75H player.

5-0 out of 5 stars Absolutely Spellbinding
Unbelievable, impeccable picture and sound quality. This is an absolute steal! i work at an electronics retail store and we sell this LCD for $300 more! Movies have never looked so beautiful. Sports imagery is mesmerizing. No black spots at all! Can adjust backlight! Easy to use control features and simple to setup. No unnecessary, excessive packaging in the box. Just pull it out and you're ready to go. My only gripe regarding this TV is that it only offers one HDMI jack. A second would be nice considering i may be upgrading to an HD DVD player in the near future. I HIGHLY recommend this LCD. You will not regret buying this LCD.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best Deal Around
I purchased this TV over a month ago after comparing it to the comparable Samsung model and am happy I did. The design is as beautiful as the picture. It is hooked up to my HD Cable box with a DVI to HDMI cable and the standard signals as well as the HD signals are outstanding. The only con is that there is only one HDMI input, but then again, in a couple months from now I'm sure all HDTV's will be coming with 4 HDMI inputs and people who only have two will be complaining - to try to keep up with technology is impossible. Bottom line is that this Television was an excellent buy and I would recommend it to anyone else who is looking for an great TV at an affordable price.

5-0 out of 5 stars THE 32-inch HDTV LCD to own!
Originally, I was bent on buying the Sony Bravia 32 inch XBR; however, upon comparing it side by side with the Panasonic TC-32LX60, their picture quality and vibrance are essentially identical. Looking at their price tags, I wasn't too excited shelling out $500 more for Sony; and with comparable picture quality, Panasonic is the better deal. Thus, I settled with the Panasonic with its reasonable price. At home, Panasonic truly shines with its 720P/1080i resolution of HDTV broadcasts from Comcast. Discovery HD Theater is truly amazing in all its clarity and high-resolution images. HBO movies never looked this gorgeous, as well as the local HD channels of CBS, ABC and NBC. To sweeten the deal, I also bought an upconverting DVD player with the HDMI output; I toggled between 720p and 1080i and found no discernible difference (probably with screens bigger than 40 inches, it would figure prominently). I literally rerun all my favorite DVDs and they looked twice as sharp, almost near-HD quality. I'm so glad I bought this TV; if my budget permits it, I'm on the lookout for buying an HD DVD player in the future. For now, this will suffice. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars I thought my JVC 48 projection was nice...
My JVC 48 projection had become the 800lb. gorilla in my livingroom...just too dang big. I started looking for a flat LCD that would not put me too much debt. I got mine on sale yesterday BB for $1508 and tax along with their $249 4 yr warranty. My projection is in my van to be delivered to a freind. The Westinghouse is on my wall and this thing is unbelievable in its display at 1080 HD. I record the Discovery show Sunrise Earth. This one showed a sunrise in Cambodia...OMG...I thought I could just reach my hand through the screen and touch ground. It was that fantastic. I do, however, have three bad pixels...two diagonally adjacent and one by itself about two inches from the others. If it starts to bug me, and it hasn't, I will make a service call on the warranty. I do miss the ability to fill the sceen when watching non-widescreen programming...i.e. cable channels. My JVC had about 5 aspect ratios I could use to fill the screen...sadly, this set does not. Maybe I'm missing something. This unit really is pretty dang awsome...no regrets at all.

4-0 out of 5 stars HDTV, PC Monitor, Blu-Ray - cool monitor for price
I had a 30 inch CRT HDTV and could not read the text when I connected my Mac Mini. I read good things about this monitor so I took the plunge and bought it and I am very pleased with it. We watched the Ryder Cup (Golf) in HD and it was glorious. I expect football and basketball will be the same so that solves my HDTV issues. I use a DirectTV HD Tivo. The Mac Mini display is INCREDIBLE and uses the max resolution. Photographs and movies from the Mac Mini are mind boggling. I share from my Mac upstairs using "Front Row". I can browse the Internet from my recliner in my living room. I plan to purchase Sony Playstation 3 to take advantage of the 1080p resolution. This gives me all the HD I can get my hands on.
3-0 out of 5 stars Picture is only good feature of this product - also a defect was found
I've been using this monitor for around 25 days and have had an opportunity to see it with Comcast HD programming.I have just finished returning it for a defect which I'll first describe, then tick off the pros and cons of it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Should have started with a Sony
18 months ago we purchased a Philips 180MT combination monitor TV - the apparent equivalent of this Sony. After 13 months, it went black and we sent it to their warranty department, expecting them to replace it within the five days promised. After weeks with no word we called and were told they no longer made it and had no parts to repair it. We were sent a refurbished model with a smaller screen and no PIP feature. After five more months of calls, we were sent another model, again inferior to the original. When I plugged it in, it went up in smoke! I called and finally got connected to someone with authority and a true concern for customer service who refunded our original cost.
5-0 out of 5 stars Oh my God, Oh my God
    Wow,
5-0 out of 5 stars not bad
I purchased this monitor 2 weeks ago and it seems fine. No dead pixels, the colors are great. It works fine as a TV set with my cable antena and it gives me a lot of screen real estate for my PC. The brightness is adjustable so there is no eye strain involved.

5-0 out of 5 stars Even late in 2006, this is an awesome buy
So I'll be the odd man out here:I didn't purchase this tv through Amazon.I heard too many horror stories about how the shipping was a hassle with delivery time windows. Most worrisome, though, were the bad stories about the warranty on the tvs. You're basically putting your tv's life in the hands of the mfg's.I didn't want that so i bought mine from BestBuy and got their warranty which works great since I live right down the road and a 4 yr contract was only a few hundred dollars. So, the tv itself rocks! It's not the latest model (at the time I wrote this) but it much more elegant looking than the shiny plastic new model right now.Picture's great, cost is amazing (mine with 2 HDMI cables, warranty, high powered surge protector AND upconverting DVD player was only $2500 from BestBuy). So, regardless of where you get this tv, it's definitely a great buy.Kudos Samsung!

5-0 out of 5 stars Move over DLP and Plasma, LCD is here to stay.
I've been drowned with so much information about which hdtv to get.I finally decided what fit the bill as the most ideal, perfect tv for me.At first I thought the dlp.It was so much cheaper than lcd or plasma's in the same size, so why not?Well I don't like dlp because the rainbow effect and if you ask me the blacks were good but not great. There's also an annoying lag when playing games with these tv's.Do yourself a favor and don't consider dlp's for gaming.LCD is the way to go.Plasmas have too much of a burn-in risk.Would you wanna break a 2,000 dollar toy because you want to play games on it? So obviously lcd was the ideal tv I was looking for.The picture on it is perfect right out of the box.For watching DVD's I use movie mode. For OTA or DTV I use either dynamic or standard settings, which both look fantastic.Oh and let me just say that the quality of the over the air hdtv channels is amazing.HD channels show as clear as the sky and they are totally free!! What a deal! And if you don't know already in 2009 everyone will be broadcasting 100% digital, HDtv for all you folks who are still deciding whether they should make the move or not.I made the move and I couldn't be happier. This TV performs like it should and it's always fun watching your favorite music videos or xbox 360 games in amazing hd glory!!!Take care and good luck in your hd journey.

5-0 out of 5 stars vs. $4000 LG plasma tv
Picture quality is a little bit better than my LG 50px1d model when watching reg. cable. In high def. both are comparable. Not bad for a $1600 tv just 10" smaller. I'm glad i bought it. ... Read more
