5-0 out of 5 stars Great phone.Great speakerphone.Talked for five hours on one handset.
I work at home, and attend lots of conference calls.I was on a conference call recently for five hours on one handset, and the battery meter only lost one bar (of three).(I used a headset the whole time, the handset was only a few inches from the base unit, and the whole thing is only two weeks old, so all of these may've contributed to the long talk time / low battery use.But regardless, that's pretty good.)
5-0 out of 5 stars Best Cordless phone for the money!
I have had 5 other cordless phones over the years and this one is by far the best. I have not experienced any problems with interference (the range is excellent - even two floors down in the basement!), sound quality is very good, and the system is easy to use and expand (I have 4 extensions).
5-0 out of 5 stars The best cordless phone I've ever owned ...
I normally am a "Review Lurker" - meaning I read them when I'm looking to purchase, but rarely if ever write them.So when began looking for a new cordless home phone, I started hitting the reviews.I've owned Uniden phones before, so maybe I was a little biased, but I've tried many other brands that various friends have owned and found them lacking. So, I finally settled on the Uniden TRU9485-2.Not only is this the best cordless phone I've ever owned, it's so good that I felt compelled to write a review.

4-0 out of 5 stars I really like this phone!
I've had this phone for a few weeks and really like it.It has a lot of features, is easy to program and figure out, and the sound quality is quite good.I wanted a separate key pad on the base, but I didn't need a land-line phone attached to it - so the universe I was looking at was somewhat reduced. I bought and returned a GE-25841GE3, which had bad sound quality. I have no complaints about this phone at all. I'm rating it 4 rather than 5 only because I don't use Caller ID, and it appears from other reviews that there may be some issues there. Otherwise, I think this phone rocks!

4-0 out of 5 stars Great phone, but beware of *incorrect* TRU9460 recommendation
The phone is great in many ways as noted by previous reviewers.

1-0 out of 5 stars bad quality awful service- do not buy it
My phone is less than a year old the batteries went dead and not a single electronic store sales the replacement batteries
4-0 out of 5 stars Works OK: wall mount, WiFi and callback number issues
These phones work as I expected from a name-brand handset; as with most cordless phones they have an option to change channel ranges if you're getting poor signal quality.
5-0 out of 5 stars a good portable phone at a good price
I like this one. It does everything I want a phone to do, including report voice mail messages. The caller id, call waiting, and missed call features all work fine.It was easy to set up and I am not a techie by any means. I recently bought and returned a defective Panasonic phone (after hours with tech support), similar to this except it had more power and was more than twice the price. It was difficult to set up and did not display missed calls on both headsets. Also, if I answered on one headset it reported a missed call on the other (!?) I gave it a negative review. This one is fine. It is totally adequate as far as power goes (I have a small house), and it was up and running in no time. It's a winner. couldn't ask for more. . . ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Decent Combo Phone System for the Money
I bought mine at the local discount warehouse for around $[...] with a rebate. The package included the corded base and 3 handsets.I've looked into a lot of different phones and read almost every review. When that wasn't enough, I went to the manufacturers' websites and read the manuals.I was looking for a 5.8 GHz with the same features as my old Siemens 2420 2.4GHz and this phone is closest I could come to matching it.The features are current with the exception of two:
4-0 out of 5 stars Perhaps the best of its kind -- at this price
I feel I owe readers this assessment, given how much wasted energy went into trying to find a suitable digital answering machine w/caller ID at a price under $80.I'm very happy with this machine and feel it has only a few flaws.
5-0 out of 5 stars GREAT PHONE SYSTEM
I would have rated 4 1/2 stars, just for the minor Cons below, but couldn't, so rated the full 5. Can't attest to the interference with a wireless network, because I'm not there yet but....

An additional handset for expandable 5.8 GHz Panasonic systems, the KX-TGA570S is compatible with both the KX-TG5771S and the KX-TG5761S system models. Like the base systems, the cordless handset utilizes 5.8 GHz Frequency-Hopping Spread Spectrum technology, meaning that it operates on a different wavelength with much less traffic than the 2.4 GHz technology while maintaining the great security, incredible clarity and long range. Have a wireless computer network, or thinking about getting one? 5.8 GHz technology will not interfere with wireless networks such as 802.11b or 802.11g WiFi.Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Nice going Panasonic
I'd been searching for a feature-packed digital 5.8GHz phone and this is just what I was looking for.Of paramount importance was the ability to conference call.Other cordless phones I'd purchased lacked this feature, which was very frustrating.Alas, one frustration eliminated.I really don't think you can go wrong with this unit.

3-0 out of 5 stars Very good phone
This is one of the best phones on the market. Very user friendly. My parents have had many cordless phones and could never figure them out. They have no problems with this one. It has many features and a menu system that makes them all easy to use. It does have a few features that are not needed like changing colors for message alerts. These are marketing tricks but they don't detract from the phones usefulness. The voice enhancer is another feature that they market heavily but is basically useless. The reason I give it 3 stars is the caller ID does not work correctly on the handsets. If a call is picked up on one phone it will mark it as a missed call on the others. Previous models worked this way and there is no excuse for this not being corrected.

5-0 out of 5 stars My Review for the Panasonic KX-TG5433 5.8GHz DD Phone
Our entire family is very pleased with this purchase.Amazing reception, crystal clear. The persons who we have spoken with on the phone have never asked us to repeat a phrase because they have not heard us, or were not able to understand us.While I do not recommend dropping the phone onto tile or hard wood floors, we have, and the phones amaze us each time, as their is no damage.Awesome!! ... The Philips DECT2252G/37 makes the most of DECT technology with a crystal clear signal that provides the best possible sound quality during calls. Transmitting the signal through a dedicated telephone frequency, this system proves that channel searching and interference with Wi-Fi are a thing of the past. The use of digital communication virtually eliminates interference, buzzing and hissing. It greatly improves the intelligibility of answering machine messages, and even making it possible for users to record and reproduce music. With polyphonic ringtones, a backlit orange LCD screen and an ergonomic shape, and hands free options from a headset jack and digital speakerphone, the DECT2252G/37 has all the features that make a phone comfortable to use. With both the speaker and the microphone on the front of the handset, using the speakerphone is almost as good as talking face to face.Make use of Call Waiting Caller ID with subscription to local service, and access a convenient phonebook that stores up to 30 names. The base also includes an answering machine with 15 minutes recording time, call screening and remote access to messages. Just a quick glance at the base station lets you know instantly if you have received any messages. Listening or deleting messages is as simple as pressing a single key.The system is expandable to a total of five handsets, but only one phone jack is needed; this package includes two handsets. The base unit is desk or wall mountable, and includes a one-year limited warranty. What's in the Box: Base, two handsets, handset batteries, AC adapter, battery covers, belt clips, two telephone line cords, printed user's guide, warranty card ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Works with internet but not as high quality as hoped for
This phone, as advertised, works with wireless internet without interrupting service. However, the voice quality is not as high as expected -- there is still some "crackling" on the line. The other big, negative surprise is that there is no headset jack on the telephone, something that I had assumed it would have. For that reason, if you spend a lot of time on the phone, then this is not the model for you.

5-0 out of 5 stars Nice!
Pretty much everything about this phone has been good.Good range, exceptional sound clarity, large screen view, battery longivity, no interference with our computer wireless network, it's design and size, and the easy intercom usage make it an good wireless phone. The speakerphone works very well too.Even assigning the different built-in ringtones to friends and relatives phone numbers (using Caller ID) isn't too difficult and makes it even more functional. It's even got a battery back-up feature in the base station which makes it reliable in power failures - apparently, a general area power failure can render a multi-phone system useless if they don't have battery back-up.We've had 4 of these handsets with the 5831 base station for some 2 years now.Because of this good experience, I would consider any of the 5800 series VTech phone systems if I had to buy another multiple handset phone system.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great accesory handset, no problems!
Excellent quality phone, has been used regularly for over a year with no problems.

3-0 out of 5 stars On their way out
I have the previous model that is the same but without the wallpaper. I have had for 2 years. I have noticed that they are losing quality of reception in certain areas of my home and that some buttons on the keypads I am not able to push.I too am having problems with the charger bases.I have two handsets and both will not fully charge and nor sit correctly in the base. Also in going to the vtech website I noticed that htese are on their way out and they are no longer making the additional handsets.I love the style though and wish I could find a similair style with the blue backlighting.I say find a more recent model. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars A very good choice if you're looking for a handset speakerphone.
I bought this phone because I wanted a good handset speakerphone, so I can talk on the phone while my hands are busy without fumbling with a headset. This phone got great reviews (see the reviewsfor the 3-0 out of 5 stars A bit disappointed
I just bought thisUniden Tru8860 - charged it up the full amount of time required. It is a bit staticky and muffled. When I talked to a friend she could not hear all of my words and thought I was talking with a blanket over the speaker.Could not hear her that well either. The ring choices are a bit annoying and tinny sounding. I have put it back in the box and it is being returned tomorrow. My last Uniden which I had for several years was wonderful! Too bad the quality is not the same.

1-0 out of 5 stars This phone sucks!
I've owned Uniden products in the past and have been generally happy with them, but quality control really dropped the ball on this one. I bought this phone because it was reasonably priced and had the 5.8 GHz technology. I was gravely disappointed. I can't sit 2 feet away from the base without getting mind numbing static! My old rotary dial phone can do better than that! DON'T BUY THIS PHONE!

Equipped with a pair of cordless handsets, a base unit with a built-in answering system, and a charger for the second handset, the 2255 is stylish, easy to use, and affordable. The bundle is ideal for households with free-roaming users, or for rooms with no phone line access, such as garages or attics. Even better, the reception on each handset is clear and static-free thanks to the 2.4 GHz frequency, which offers more clarity and a greater range than 900 MHz phones. As a further benefit, the two phones can act as intercoms, letting users contact one another from across the house without yelling or pounding on the wall.Read more

I came here looking for another handset for this phone. We have had the 2255 for about 2, maybe 3 years now.It has been highly reliable, good battery life (we replaced the first set about a year ago), survived two lightening strikes on our home (killed the PC, but not the phones), and generally works well for us.We do not really bring it out of range very often.I won't say that it's perfect, but I haven't had a cordless phone that was.I think we realized the quality of the 2255 when my husband got a v-tech 2451 for a 5-year anniversary gift from work. That phone is awful - we can't hear anyone on it, and usually have to switch to one of the AT&T handsets to talk.It also interferred with our wireless router, so we had to turn it off.
1-0 out of 5 stars Terrible and disappointing product
The battery life for this phone after one short year is abysmal. After charging it all night, it dies after a few hours of nonuse.
5-0 out of 5 stars After several years of use...
I need new batteries, finally. Until a few months ago they held a charge for well over a day whenever we left the units off their charger.

1-0 out of 5 stars Thought I was going deaf...
Couldn't hear a dern thing with the volume on the highest level. Bought a different phone, I'm not going deaf.

1-0 out of 5 stars Waste of money
We recently purchased this phone.I should have checked the reviews before we bought it.The base was in our living room, and I couldn't walk to my back door (and my house is tiny) before the static started.Forget walking out my back door, the call would just cut off.It was also very difficult to hear the person on the other line, even with the volume turned up to maximum. In addition, any time the call waiting beep went off, it made a horrible noise like the phone was hanging up (repeatedly).I couldn't even walk upstairs without hearing static. It was a complete waste of money, and has since been returned to Target!

1-0 out of 5 stars Very static-y phone
Terrible phone - do not buy if you can help it.I bought this from Home Depot for ~$50.I was excited to get the extract handset - something novel at the time for the price.Well, no wonder: it's a piece of garbage!I will now be wary of phones for sale at Home Depot (that's not a phone store!) and wary of suspiciously good deals in general. ... 2-0 out of 5 stars Good audio, lousy handset interface
Once again, a consumer electronics hardware maker proves that they can't develop a good software interface for their device. In terms of physical design, this is one of the best cordless phones out there. The sound quality is also quite good, and the DECT technology works on a band that keeps it free of WiFi interference. However, I had to return this phone right away because the interface is so awful. First of all, Philips really shortchanged this device by putting in a cheap LCD display that can only display 8 letters on caller ID, and then they are letters formed in barely legible block-style on the numerical display. I mean, how much more would if have cost them to put in a modern LCD display with enough pixels to show real letters? But the clincher is the poor design of this phone's Caller ID interface. Call it Caller Confusion. If you have Caller ID with Name service from your phone company, with this phone you can only see the name -- and only the first 8 letters of it! While the phone call is coming in, there is no way to scroll the display to show the phone number. You can only see that AFTER the phone has stopped ringing. What use is that? If the incoming phone call actually has a name from the phone company, this is barely OK, but for the many calls that have no name, this phone will show "CELL PHO" or "UNKNOWN" or "800 SERV". There is no way to get it to show the actual number while the phone is still ringing. If you're trying to screen calls, it's essentially useless. Whoever designed this interface just doesn't get what Caller ID is for in the first place. I would have loved to like this phone, because I think the phones from Panasonic, VTech, Motorola and others are horribly ugly, and my previous Panasonic had the worst audio quality imagnable. But this phone doesn't cut it as well. Why is the cordless phone market so devoid of good products? ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Great phones.
The first cordless phones we've had that you do not hear a buzz while you're talking. The "find handset" button actually keeps beeping until you find the handset, so that it doesn't take 2 people. The phone shape is too difficult to hold between your ear and shoulder, but my chiropractor says you shouldn't do that anyway.

5-0 out of 5 stars New phone....
Very pleased with this item.Voice clarity and ease of operation outstanding.Best cordless I've had to date.

1-0 out of 5 stars Poor reception poor wall mount
I choose ATT due to my experience with good solid equipment. However this unit did not measure up.

2-0 out of 5 stars A pan of Panasonic
I've had my phone for several years. The base unit audio quality is good, but battery life is about 20 minutes...even when replacement battary is installed. Use of speakerphone in base unit cuts off the phone. The second cordless unit works flawlessly; has a good range...but your callers have trouble hearing you...and many times you can't hear the caller. I continue to use the Panasonic because the AT&T system I had purchased before from Staples crapped out within two weeks...and the attitude of the customer service folks was disgusting...and the cost of repair or replacement was more expensive than the purchase price. At least the Panasonic keeps working.

3-0 out of 5 stars volume transmit problems
Hi, I bought this phone 2nd hand on EBay (I'm in Australia and you can't buy a 2 line phone here, new or used).
1-0 out of 5 stars Shame on Panasonic
Same problem with battery life as most everyone else, 5 minutes tops and it starts beeping for low battery. Run around and grab another extension for another 5 minutes. Started just a couple of months after purchase, and I did charge it per the instructions.I have 3 extensions, all doing the same thing. The worst thing about it is that this was not a cheap purchase and panasonic could care less.I will think long and hard before ever buying Panasonic again, it obviously doesn't stand for quality anymore. ...
