Editorial Review

Harking back to the all-in-one systems that listeners used to own before digital formats became dominant, this Teac DC-D6300 shelf system will keep CD, vinyl, and cassette enthusiasts entertained for years. The 30-watt system is centered around a three-disc drawer-type CD changer for enjoying CDs, CD-Rs, or CD-RWs, along with a three-speed belt-driven turntable for revisiting your vintage 33-1/2, 45, or 78 rpm albums and singles (or even enjoying limited-edition new albums). Should you need to record from CD or vinyl, you can turn to the dual cassette deck, which offers playback, traditional recording, and tape-to-tape dubbing, depending on your needs. And as with most shelf systems, the DC-6300 also includes a digital AM/FM tuner with 40 total presets (20 AM and 20 FM). The presets make it easy to access your favorite stations at any time. 3-0 out of 5 stars Not good enough
I had a Sharp CMS-F800 for many years before this one. Since I'm bi-tonal, as it were,(records and tapes) I need these components, even in an age of CD's. I also have CD's now, so the added CD changer, while unnecessary, seemed like an asset. Amd yet, something registered that all this for this price, and in a handsome exterior, spelled trouble in terms of economizing somewhere. I would have preferred no CD-changer. For these are the negatives.
4-0 out of 5 stars I LOVE MY NEW STEREO!
First of all, there is nothing wrong with the volume button on this stereo, as another reviewer claimed. You just turn the dial left or right repeatedly, and the dial makes a clicking noise as the volume goes up or down. I agree with the reviewer who says this unit does it all at a reasonable price. Yes, there are some obvious missing features--such as the needle bar not having an automatic return. But overall, I'm very happy with this unit. The sound is good, I love the separate speaker system, and I'm having a so much fun playing all my old records! If you're on a budget, don't go out and buy all your old favorites on CD. Get this unit and take advantage of your record collection! I've even added to my record collection by shopping thrift stores and music exchange stores--albums are as cheap as a dollar each! I highly recommend this stereo unit!

4-0 out of 5 stars I am so happy I bought this!
I wanted something that played everything (all records, tapes, cd's and radio) and now I have it.The ability to put my records on tape is a great plus. The sound is much better than the vintage-looking brands and it still doesn't take up too much space.Note - a prior reviewer said the volume knob doesn't work, but it does.To increase/decrease the volume you have to repeatedly turn the knob in the direction appropriate. This way it doesn't blast and you can make subtle adjustments in volume. My only criticisms are inadequate explanations of how it works (as the volume issue indicates) and difficulty seeing the details of the different functions with old eyesight like mine. ... Editorial Review

Proving once again that good things come in small packages, the JVC FS-Y1 audio/video system comes loaded with valuable features for the discerning music and movie fan. The system includes a pair of full-range speakers (18 watts x 2) with 3.19-inch cone drivers, giving listeners the means to enjoy high-quality stereo sound when playing CDs, CD-R/RWs, MP3s, and WMA files. At the same time, it also displays crisp DVD video--with DVD, DVD-R and DVD-RW, VCD, SVCD, and JPEG compatibility--making it a nice system for the living room, bedroom, and anywhere else you want to watchmovies. It even converts Dolby Digital and DTS soundtracks into two-channel audio playback so listeners can enjoy high-end movie soundtracks (along with DVD-Audio discs) through the stereo speakers. The end result is immersive audio and video that almost, but not quite, re-creates the surround-sound theater experience (a process abetted by the 3D Phonic circuitry). Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Tons of features for the money
For the money, this has several great features. The sound really surprised me for such a small unit. If there is still not enough bass for you, there is a subwoofer output to plug into. It has aux. input to hook the TV to so you can watch the game or race with a little more than just the tiny TV speakers.
3-0 out of 5 stars Great sound, beware of player noise
Sound quality is excellent, ton of features (plays almost every music format there is, not to mention DVDs), compact and aesthetically pleasing. However, the unit itself is very noisy during disc play. A loud high pitch whirring noise from the CD motor can be heard over low to medium volumes. You'd have to pretty much set to high volumes when playing music or movies if you want to drown out any of the noise coming from the CD unit. If you can live with the noise, this is a good buy, nothing else compares when it comes to the available features. But beware, the inability of the unit to control disc noise may be why it's so affordable.

5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing little system
I have a large 100 watt stereo setup that consists of five JVC components and two pairs of speakers. I bought this system as something I could play easily when I wasn't doing "serious" listening.

The Denon D-M33S CD/AM/FM Micro System delivers the natural, richly detailed sound that listeners normally expect from high-end individual components, but in a single compact package. The difference lies in the system's high-quality parts and construction. Building on the basic design of Denon's critically acclaimed D-M31 and D-M30 units, the system employs capacitors developed for high-quality audio within its power amp circuitry, along with Burr-Brown digital-to-analog converters to ensure maximum clarity from your CDs. In addition, Denon collaborated with European sound designers and technicians to develop a refined speaker system that makes CDs, MP3s, and WMA files (recorded on CD-R or CD-RW media) sound terrific.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing Sound in a very compact package
I am amazed by the wonderful sound produced by this stereo, and the sound easily fills my 20' x 15' living room. . It is much better than I imagined for such a small set of speakers. I am not that knowledgeable about stereo equipment, but I do know that this sounds great - well worth the money.

5-0 out of 5 stars amazing
I felt I had to write a review for this product. I was hesitant to buy this because I saw a negative review posted but I went ahead and bought a refurbished one anyways because I love denon products. I can only describe the sound as amazing, amazing, amazing. Even without a subwoofer the sound is full and deep. The speakers put out an amazing volume. The system is set up in my room, never expected to turn it up too loud anyways. I turned the volume up out of curiosity and was surprised by the sound. Sounds great! I would definitely recommend this product.

With a robust design straight from the sci-fi cinema, the JVC MX-C55 audio system certainly looks powerful. Fortunately for users, the housing isn't just for show, as the 500-watt portable unit includes twin 170-watt GIGA-tube low-pass subwoofers, along with a pair of 80-watt main speakers. The speaker combination creates monster bass that far surpasses the low-frequency output of most mini systems, giving your CDs, CD-R/RWs, MP3s, and WMAs the rich, full-bodied audio they deserve. The overall effect is vast and potent, especially when enhanced by one of the three live surround modes (dance club, hall, and stadium) or the three traditional sound modes (rock, pop, and classic).Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Finally a great radio with an MP3CD player!
I've only experienced one other satisfactory radio (the Boston Acoustics Recepter) but that one has nothing other than the bare necessities (no headphone or remote control options) and cost me $60 more.
2-0 out of 5 stars sound is bad
I was really excited to get this, it is small, looks fantastic, has an input for my Sirius and is only $100.However, at least to my ears, the sound is awful and actually hurts my ears. There's no true equalizer, you can choose from a few presets but none of them sound good.I'm not an audiophile so I can't put my finger on it but I get a headache listening to it, I think it's something with the base or trebble.I'm sort of stuck because I need to return this one but I don't know of another boombox or micro system that is good that I should replace it with....but I can't keep this one it's too bad.

4-0 out of 5 stars Best for the price
I read all the reviews on this and a number of other systems in the immediate price range and decided that I would give it a try, in spite of some of the negative comments. I listened to about a dozen different >$100 systems and this was the best.

5-0 out of 5 stars System that talks the talk and walks the walk...
The MCI-200 Streamium was given to me as a Christmas present. I plugged it in, attached speakers (easy), and connected the ethernet caple to my router. WALAH! It worked! I was instantly listening to my favorite mp3 internet radio stations. Doesn't display track 1 track 2 track 3 for your CDs but actually goes through an online service to get track titles. GREAT customer support. Only con is that the AM antenna is really short.5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing stereo will change the way you listen to music
I purchased this stereo in December 2002.This is absolutely one of the best electronics buys I have made in while. On the pro side: The system was easy to install and delivered instant results without the need for a lot of technical adjustments.I have mine connected via Cat 5 cable.I primarily use this system for playing streaming audio music (vs. MP3's from my PC).The quality of the sound is excellent - CD quality.Philips provides a service they call Streamium. You can get a fairly robust set of stations with this service at no extra charge.Alternatively, if you want to create your own custom stations you will need to subscribe to a service like MusicMatch. This is what I have done. This service is fantastic. You can create virtually any combination of artists that you want as many as you want and change it whenever you want. The ease of use for the system is worth the price alone. This is a true network appliance. You do not need to be connected to a PC to operate this system. You can just walk up to the unit, turn it on, and select one of your favorite custom radio stations - it's that easy.I have had many friends over who have gone out and purchased the same unit once they've seen it in action. On the con side: Occasionally, the system drops a station - this is rare and easy to correct simply by repushing the connect button. Also, I wish the unit had a digital audio interface for connecting to higher end stereo equipment. It does have a full complement of RCA jacks which actually work pretty well for that purpose. There is a wireless version of this system which you might consider. It wasn't available when I purchased my system. The system is sized for a den type setting. It would be great if they offered a higher end version or a version that you set along side your main sound system. All in all this is truly an amazing stereo. It has changed the way I listen to music.I highly recommend it!!

2-0 out of 5 stars Headache
Do not expect this product to work with any D-Link ethernet device, e.g. router, switch, ethernet to wireless bridge. Also don't expect any type of tech support. The people you end up talking to expect an education from you.Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars CD Player Problems
I have had this system for 2 years - CD changer broke just before 1 year warranty expired, sent to Onkyo and was repaired.Recently started experiencing same problems as before - won't eject CD's - have had to shake the player while holding it vertically to recover my discs. This is too bad as Onkyo generally has a good name in audio.

2-0 out of 5 stars Bad CD
Big problems with the CD player, just makes noises all the time, doesn't work at all, won't open. Nice small system, CD kills it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent performance in a small package
I bought this system refurbished because of the bad reviews on the CD changer, hoping the problem would be fixed. So far no problems, CD changer and everything else works perfectly. Initially, my first choice was the Marantz Duetto but I was unable to find one. Next was the Denon D-M33s but the sound quality was lacking and it was too expensive for a mini system anyways. I settled on the Onkyo MC35Tech which I am very happy with now. Smooth and warm is how I would describe the sound. The speakers are much better than I expected, very punchy bass. I wanted to mention I am using thicker, lower gauge speaker wire and a Monster HTS850 Powercenter that supposedly cleans up AV signals (left over from my last audio system). To me there is a noticeable improvement in the sound versus using the stock cables and a cheap $10 surge protector. The only area where the Onkyo system lacks is low end bass but the receiver does have a sub out in case you desire more oompf. One of the best looking mini systems too. I really like the separate 3 disc changer and receiver, sort of a mini separates system. One of the cheaper audio systems Ive ever purchased but is the most enjoyable to listen to and use. Highly recommended. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Product Overall
First off, this CD player is AWESOME!Its definately a great choice!Everything about it is great. The color changing background, volume control, fully functional remote, automatic CD power feed (no tray) and loud sound with good quality are all great!I also like this thing cause it is compact, small, and looks way better than most other large ugly plastic stereos.Be sure to read other people's reviews on this since I don't want to list all of the good things!BUT, there are some things about this you should know.First off, for a stereo effect, the speakers can be placed just about anywhere, which is great, BUT, the cords are only about 6 ft long, thus not being long enough to place them in separate corners of a room depending on where you want to place the player.Secondly, sometimes the light in the left speaker does not work (Another reviewer had the same problem).Majorly, what is great is that the CD fits vertically into the player without an annoying tray, but, after about 6 months of use the power feed that pulled the CD into it didn't work anymore.Long story short after opening it up I found that many of the small plastic gears inside were broken and stripped.I suppose this could be avoided if you were to be very careful when inserting the CD.It happened when my friend inserted a CD, and he may not have known about the automatic feed and might have forced it in, thus breaking the TINY PLASTIC gears.Anyway, when the volume is very low(this thing will go very loud and keep good sound quality) there is some hazy static, so this thing sounds better when loud (of course!)Lastly, pretty much everything with this thing is AWESOME, but the small antenna plain out sucks.I tried placing near a window, but reception still marginal. It might be my area but I live in Los Angeles not far from any radio station. All in all great product, but just keep these in mind.Hope this helps.

2-0 out of 5 stars Disappointed in Memorex MX4100
The unit works well enough (except for the light on the left speaker which doesn't work at all) but the speakers seem [inferior] and are very lightweight. They don't give a clear, crisp sound. The radio also doesn't seem to receive local stations very clearly.1-0 out of 5 stars I don't reccomend this item!
If you are looking for a stereo with great sound, don't buy this! The sounds didn't work good at all! The speakers had to much static in them even when I played a CD. Even it's looks are great the system isn't. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars It is what it is
For those who expect true 5.1 Dolby Surround out of the Bose 3-2-1 system, please look elsewhere. This unit does well in projecting sound when you have the speakers at a good ear level height for your sitting area. You need to get the setting just right for it to work anywhere close to as advertised.
4-0 out of 5 stars Great for music, but what did she say?
Having owned this system now for a couple of years I have had my ups and downs but overall I am pretty happy with it. For the price you are getting a system that produces excellent clarity of sound with very small speakers. Yeah! On the negative, I don't really understand why they skimp out on the DVD side of things- I mean my $200 pioneer handles the range of DVD's much better. Of greatest concern for me though has been voice re-production. Voices are generally much softer than the other types of sounds, and while bose has a setting to try to rectify this problem, it doesn't do a very good job. Consequently, it can be difficult to hear words when watching tv and DVD's. Also, just a small note, to get the surround sound effect you have to turn the machine up pretty loud (so if you don't care too much for neighbours that won't be a problem). Overall, my music sounds crisp and I love hearing every little noise in my music, so I still have a smile on my face.

SELLER'S: For an honest review go to the CORRECT page for the Bose 321 Graphite w/ Accoustimass 3rd module and two satellite speakers. That will have the correct retail rate and draw the true end-buyers/purchasers.This price of $700 is for the 2 speaker satellite system so you would be losing a bit selling here.I hope this helped you in your endeavors and I look forward to honestly/fairly competing with you in the future!

2-0 out of 5 stars Better Prices, Limitations of this device., some Pluses
The FM stereo does not pick up well at all.I cannot get many local stations. The description says it uses USB 1.1 for quick transfers. This is misleading advertising.USB 1.1 is the slower transfer method.USB 2.0 is the faster one.

4-0 out of 5 stars Not bad for what it is.
First off, I used this unit in place of a set of amplified PC speakers... for that it works great... MP3s and Cds play just fine. The unit has a decent executive look to it and looks fine on my desk at work. For $90 you can't really complain. One hitch, it does pick up ambient RF noise (IE cell phones and such sound like pops from the speakers occaisionally) but I was able
5-0 out of 5 stars Great small system!
This little Fisher is a really nice piece of equipment if you are looking for a reasonably priced, extremely good looking stereo for a small area.I have had this for several weeks now.I bought it for my living room (which is VERY small) because my Bose was simply too powerful for the small space, and my jazz cds sounded really distorted. On my Fisher, they sound really great. What I like best about this stereo is that I control the bass and treble, so I can adjust them to the type of music I am listening too (yes, they should be adjusted according to the type of music, jazz, rock or classical). The surround sound feature is really nice.If you are looking for a stereo that will blast a 12 square mile area, this is not the unit for you.If you are looking for a really nice, inexpensive system where YOU control the way your music sounds, this is the system for you.My only complaints are that there is no readout to indicate the bass and treble settings, and there is no cassette player.

3-0 out of 5 stars Get what you pay for
A good stereo, but you get what you pay for. Cheap stereos won't give you high-end sound. The CD's load at an awkward angle, and also take a long time to load. Overall, it's not that bad, but not the best system to buy if you're looking for quality. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Bad out of the box
The CD player refused to work right. It started out only reading some CDs, and quickly stopped playing them all together. Every CD I put in, the display would read "no disc." A bad value at any price.

4-0 out of 5 stars Nice unit--if you don't need raging power
I enjoyed owning this baby.It has nice sound, quality radio reception, and a handy remote control. The motorized cd lid is sorta nifty too.My only complaint is that the speakers are on the small side and the bass sound doesn't resonate as it should. But I hooked up my quality bookshelf speakers instead, which really sounded great. If you're looking to fill a large area, shop for another unit.If you just need a bedroom or office stereo, this one offers you the compact size and quality you're looking for.

2-0 out of 5 stars Started out well...
I purchased this microsytem in April, and within months my stereo was malfunctioning. The radio and cassette deck work fine, it is the CD player which is giving me problems. On nearly every CD I play, halfway through the disc a scratching sound is heard. Despite having tried every possible cleaning method, it still does not work properly. I was very disappointed with this, as i love the style and the sound is great aside from that. I would suggest taking an extended warranty. ... Read more
