A MUST for trip w/ small children
We bought this unit from Sam's Club right before a trip to Disney World. (8 hours in the car with a toddler--eek!)However, it was/is perfect!We still use it for trips around town when we're in massive traffic or our son is being really fussy.The case that keeps the dvd player on the back of the seat needs a little work, but we figured out a way to make it work for us.Also, the remote doesn't work well, but we don't really need to use it as a DVD usually lasts long enough between stops.

Disappointment at its best...........................
I bought this item for my son for x-mas.We are lucky if we got to use it 4 times before it stopped working.Products this bad should not be allowed to be sold.

5 movies then done- doesn'twork
I recieved this DVD player as a gift for Christmas from my wife. I used it 5 times- done - screen says no disk with DVD in machine. My wife got the ex-warranty through Amazon.com . NO GOOD UNTIL 1 YEAR AFTER DATE OF DELIVERY> THEY HAVE AUDIOVOX as HAVING A 1 YEAR WARRANTY -- AUDIOVOX HAS A 90 day WARRANTY on this DVD. I ASKED for Help ..... NO response. Huge disappointment
I have had nothing but issues with this product.The screen displays is washed out and the adjustment controls are too limited to fix this.The DVD player constantly skips.The radio antenna is a waste of time. It doesn't pick up anything but the strongest signals and even then with some static.I was leary of an Audiovox product, but wanted the larger screen.My opinion is to forget the extra inch and get the Sony.

Do not buy from Audiovox
This TV broke in the first two weeks I owned it. Both the picture and audio would not work. I brought it to a local repair shop that could not fix it - I called the company and was just outside of their 90 day warranty and they did nothing for me.
Unit failed at 4 months
I like the picture and size of the unit.The sound is a little tinny.Biggest problem is short warranty period.My unit failed after 4 months of occassional use and Audiovox said "too bad it is out of warranty."Maybe they know there is a problem and do not or cannot fix.90 days for a $400 TV is way too short. ... Great Little DVD Player!!!

1 star is too much....DO NOT BUY!
Okay, I don't have this model what I do have is the junk PDM-2727. JUNK JUNK JUNK! It claims it plays DVD-R's. RIGHT....with pauses in between, frames skipping, and very rare is the volume dropped (no audio). Now, you all are sitting there "uh, perhaps you backed it up incorrectly" or the "buy better media" or even the "that is piracy"....NO! I backed it up fine with the appropriate PROGRAMS! Yes..not just ONE program about 5 programs. I even backed it up burning the WHOLE dvd with commercials and everything...same! I even bought better media...Memorex, Maxell, Fujifilm....SAME! Skipped frames. Freezing...you name it! AND NO...IT IS NOT PIRACY WHEN YOU OWN AND BACK UP! Oy...so yes...AVOID this "brand name" at all costs...
PDM-0723-Don't buy it!
My DVD Player worked about 10 times before it started to give me a "bad disc" error and shut down.It does this with brand new CDs and DVDs.Now nothing plays at all.Another thing that would happen when it did work, is that the screen would start to flicker with rainbow of colors at random times.Avoid this product.Polaroid should stick to instant cameras. ... A Great DVD Player For At A Low Price!!!
I bought the black model. I just love my M270-B black DVD player, because it's small, compact and it come with a 7'' TFT "LCD" Liquid Crystal Display, it's a good size, not too big not too little. The color change when moved at different angles. But the video quality is great. Built-in musical speakers & earphones? OH MY GOD! The DVD player's built-in sound quality is horrible!!! I recommed a very good pair of speakers or a great pair of headphones!! Like a pair of Logitech's Mid-range speakers or better it your choice... Built-in Dolby digital decoder, Dolby digital output I like all the outputs this DVD player has. Dolby down-mix dual channel outputMulti-format disk support CD/MP3/CD-R/CD-RW/DVD/VCD/SVCD/HDCD/DVD Audio/WMA/Kodak Picture CD (JPEG) and I found out that it can play DVD-R/RW's too, The M270 read them as DVD Movie discs. I don't like the fact that the DVD player's battery snaps on the bottom of the DVD player, makes more easier to get broken, I wish then made it built-inside. You use the AC adapter as a power source instead of the battery, charge up the battery to the AC adapter, it also comes with a credit size remote control.
Do not get cheated by price and fancy features!
Had m270 as a gift about 6 months ago. At first glance, the features of the player seemed to be promising but then ....
Troubles
I got this same AMW Portable DVD player for Christmas last year.It lasted only 2 months, more or less. I experienced the same problems as other reviewers here: it wouldn't recognize the DVD disc/movie.It became a blank screen, or just turned into an MP3 player other than a DVD player, as it was intended.

The best portable DVD player in the market
It took me a couple of weeks to research the best portable DVD player and I'm very glad that I chose Toshiba SD-P1800. It looks good and very reliable.

Toshiba DVD
We just returned from Disney, having flown 2.5 hours each way with a 3 yr old and a 6 yr old. The portable DVD was a life-saver, particularly for my little one. Not only is the picture incredible, the battery held its charge for at least 4 hours! Our Panasonic doesn't come close to the quality of this unit! A must have - easy to use as well.

Great Portable DVD Player for the money
I have the newer SD-P1850 model which is very similar if not identical to this one. I can recommend this DVD player after doing a lot of research and also trying out a few others. My opinion is that the 3 best brands of portable DVD players are Toshiba, Phillips and Sony.
