5-0 out of 5 stars Great Monitor!!! Excellent for Gaming.
The M782 17-inch flat CRT from Dell is designed to make flat screen technology extremely affordable. Its flat screen reduces reflection and improves screen geometry, resulting in a more visually appealing experience. An improved dot pitch of 0.25 mm allows for visually sharper and crisper focus.
5-0 out of 5 stars A decent monitor for ordinary user
If the monitor is e773c, it is not that bad as the the previous review stated. In fact, if you go to dell.com you will find this monitor is still on sale. I bought this monitor with my dell PC and it works great as it should. You DO NOT need to resize it every time. It has richer color than a LCD monitor as all CRT monitors do. Of course, you always get what you paid for. But for the price and performance, I will give it 5 stars.

2-0 out of 5 stars dell 17inch monitor
I was very dissapointed with the style and appearance of this item and would like to return it,but did not because it is to heavy for me to lug around, and I did not save the packaging. This is a very old monitor, the color is dark, it has to be resized each time I sign on. I emailed the seller for tech support and got no response as yet. There was no manual or any written help included in the packaging.I would rather have spent the money on a newer model. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Hey Designers!!!!
If your a hardcore graph-x designer and need a hassle free, well ventilated monitor that has excellent refresh rates, look no further than the XF-7t. This monitor is long and heavy, but hey your not designing monitor cases!! As far as quality, i couldn't find a better CRT with such a fine horizontal Dot pitch(.22mm!!). Your graph-x will kick ass!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great picture Quality...
After having a flat panel monitor LCD that I really liked and selling it, I was hesitant to buy a Flat CRT (Cathode Ray Tube) Monitor. However, after having it for about a week now, I can say it is the finest monitor I have ever owned. It is bright, vibrant and does not distort or anything around the end's. Oh, and about what the person wrote below about it being huge, well no kidding, its a CRT monitor with a flat glass screen, not an LCD screen. There is a difference, so if you are buying this, remember, its like the old monitors everyone owned, but has a flat glass screen to get rid of the distortions. I personally would recommend this monitor, as I love it now. Oh by the way, I use it for 3d animation and programming. It works great.

5-0 out of 5 stars A nice monitor for the money
Remember, this monitor has a *flat* screen, not a *thin* screen. It is just as large as a normal CRT monitor.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars NEC improved
For different reasons, NEC monitors often have better color definition and quality than certain, other monitors. I find no fault with this CRT monitor, at all.

5-0 out of 5 stars The ONLY Premium 15" CRT???
I wanted a 15" CRT for the computer I recently built.I REALLY wanted a good screen, but one that was not too large or heavy. This product actually cost more than some low or medium priced 17" CRTs.Every other, I mean, every other 15" CRT except for NEC's own AS50 had lower maximum and recommended resolutions. That is, the AS500 has a RECOMMENDED resolution of 1024x768 at 85Hz, wheras these stats are other screens' MAX resolution. Most 15" CRTs have recommended resolution of 800x600.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Expensive but worth the price
I have been happily using my FW900 12-24 hrs a day for over 3 years now. If I had to go back to using a 19 inch monitor, I would probably lose my mind. I previously owned a Viewsonic 21" monitor. This Sony GDM-FW900 is superior. Even a 21" monitor seems small now.
5-0 out of 5 stars It's got the most OOOOOOHh factor.....
I have been using Sun's near flat 21" monitor, but when we finally started to have image problems with them (actually, they were getting really old..:o() I knew the time had come to pony up some bucks again for monitors. So after some research into what's out there today new and used, we found some 3 year old 24" tru-flat Trinitron's, off lease. I decided to give it a shot and picked up a handful of them.

2-0 out of 5 stars Last year I got the wrong monitor.
My last monitor Goldstar monitor which was great started to go last year so I decided to get a new monitor.I was going to get a dell lcd but I was on a budget and thought I could save some money buy getting another crt.Big mistake. When I got the monitor. The geomitry is terrible. The top and bottom are curved bow like which you can't adjust. The left and right corners you can adjust one side correct but the other side is uneven so I have to keep them both a little uneve.CRT's all have this problem and they lie when it says flat screen because they are not flat at all.Only LCD's are perfectly even. The corners are blurry.I run it at 1152x864 at 75hz.60hz gives you a headache after 5 minutes. Then after all of these problems I was stupid not to return it.I had it all packed up and I decided since it weighs a ton to keep it which was a big mistake.Well this year I now have the money to afford a lcd and I decided to get a 20.1" lcd.I had many bad experiences with CRT's and if you get one it is the luck of the draw if you get one that is good.I will never get a CRT ever again.

I use to use this 19" monitor at 1280x1024 but it started to get way too blurry so I scaled down to 1024x768. The monitor isn't very bright. The monitor at work is amazingly crisp to where I can easily read text at 1280x1024 with the Compaq's 17" monitor. I'm now rebuilding my home system using all retail components (retail components, not system). I'm saving a lot of money and I can kiss dell drivers and OEM hardware problems goodbye. The dirty secret is that OEM means that it didn't pass quality tests to be retail. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent
This is great for those on a budget who want to spend more on the core components of the pc and don't mind a small 15" monitor. The picture is crisp and clear, flicker is minimal(though it lacks a glare shield, so you may want one for all day viewing) and even though it's 15", it has no trouble displaying crystal clear text at 1024x768. So don't feel you'll be stuck at 800x600 or lower if you opt for this. It's an especially good deal for me because I got it from a computer a family member was getting rid of.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not so good???
I have my COMPAQ FS740 with CPU for 3 years now.I bought it from Best Buy.Best Buy did a shabby software installation job, but it was affordable and I am not knowledgeable in these areas. That being said, I have done a Recovery twice and I now have a problem wherein my pc reboots around 7pm at night. No virus. None. Its a gremlin, I tell you. Now!!! The pc is turning pink.It does it so often that I believe the whole thing might be on its last legs.I would not care as much because of the low prices of pc's and the upgrades available to me at such low prices, but I barely use the darn thing. For this reason alone, I am annoyed at best, and disappointed and disillusioned at most.I have no clue what I should buy next or what scam to watch out for.Just my 2 cents.

3-0 out of 5 stars Convenience, good image quality, but limited resolution
I acquired the MV540 from a friend who decided to get another monitor. So far, he and I have not had come across any safety issues, but since I'm used to resolutions higher than 800x600, and this monitor is not able to have a sufficient 1024x768 at a refresh rate of over 60Hz.The monitor's video quality is crisp and the lack of anti-glare makes the image much sharper than competitors'.The speakers sound fine and the power supply is within the monitor, without the unnecessary transformer taking up space. The curve-laden design permits use in a small built-in cabinet, which is improved from the MV520 (previous design).
