2-0 out of 5 stars After Six Months: Persistent Complaint
I have had this phone for over six months and I agree with much positive that has been said. The sound that I hear when others speak if very strong, but over time I have had to change phones (to a non-cordless) countless times when people have said they could not hear me or that I should "speak up."When I do change phones, the response is that it is "much better!"I know that cordless and corded have different technologies, but one should not need to shout into a phone, ever. There are several settings on this Panasonic that make what I hear crisp, boosted, "improved," but nothing to help others hear me (I speak to groups every day for my work and my voice is good).I am actually in the market for a replacement set of phones---and would greatly appreciate someone telling me of any cordless, Panasonic or other, that transmits a voice loud and clear.

5-0 out of 5 stars Terrific phone, terrific features, terrific value
This phone does pretty much everything I'd need.Positive surprises is that the handsets have speakerphones built in, and the handsets can all access the anwering machine.I've had pretty bad luck with reception with other wirelesses in my house, the only phone that worked OK was the expensive and finicky engenius brand. This Pana works great and the 3-handset system costs less than any of the single handset versions I've had in the past. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars For 79 Bucks this phone is awesome.
I've seen the biggest complaints by the negative reviewers are lack of extra features. Well, considering that the phones that have those features are up to 3 times more expensive but that this phone gives you all the quality and a lot of other great features, I can live with it.
5-0 out of 5 stars Absolutely wonderful phone
In past I have used a variety of cordless phones. But, I always had an issue with the life of the phone. None of the phones lasted me for more than 1 year and few months. Last time I bought a Panasonic phone. I'm extensively using this phone for over 3 years and no degradation in performance. No stuck keys, no faded voice and not even the weakened battery or non responsive battery contacts (which is a problem with most of the rechargable cordless phones). Best of all is the speaker phone on the handset. This made me fan of Panasonic. This is phone is still working beautifully after 3 years of extensive use.
5-0 out of 5 stars Just confirming previous reviews
Like anybody these days, we have plowed through the gamut of corded and wireless phones. I put a little time into research before I bought this Panasonic phone and it was worth it; the unit is a winner and satisfies it just about all respects. It is easy to use and set up and has performed well. I especially like being able to set up a phone book on one handset and beam it to all the other handsets. The intercom feature also gets a lot of use since we have three floors to cover. I have also made use of the custom ringtones (and even the color of the flashing LED on the antennae) so I know when I don't want to pick up the phone (i.e. when the in-laws call). There is even a speakerphone. The handset is solid and feels good in your hand. The voice quality is good - not as good as a corded phone but much better than the other wireless phones I have tried. In addition, the 5.8 GHz frequency does not interfere with our wireless computer network.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great phone.Great speakerphone.Talked for five hours on one handset.
I work at home, and attend lots of conference calls.I was on a conference call recently for five hours on one handset, and the battery meter only lost one bar (of three).(I used a headset the whole time, the handset was only a few inches from the base unit, and the whole thing is only two weeks old, so all of these may've contributed to the long talk time / low battery use.But regardless, that's pretty good.)
5-0 out of 5 stars Best Cordless phone for the money!
I have had 5 other cordless phones over the years and this one is by far the best. I have not experienced any problems with interference (the range is excellent - even two floors down in the basement!), sound quality is very good, and the system is easy to use and expand (I have 4 extensions).
5-0 out of 5 stars The best cordless phone I've ever owned ...
I normally am a "Review Lurker" - meaning I read them when I'm looking to purchase, but rarely if ever write them.So when began looking for a new cordless home phone, I started hitting the reviews.I've owned Uniden phones before, so maybe I was a little biased, but I've tried many other brands that various friends have owned and found them lacking. So, I finally settled on the Uniden TRU9485-2.Not only is this the best cordless phone I've ever owned, it's so good that I felt compelled to write a review.

3-0 out of 5 stars Bye bye Uniden- Hello Panasonic
I really didn't want to return this phone.I loved the idea of a corded base phone with a huge called ID display, and a satellite 5.8 ghz cordless. And the sound was excellent, both on the answering machine and the cordless. So whats not to love?
4-0 out of 5 stars Cordless Phone System
We needed to replace a telephone and answering system, due to age of the old system. The Uniden system has proven to be a very suitable replacement. The instructions are very complete and understandable. The ringer is distinctive and quite loud. Sound quality is quite good. The only drawback is the delay between pressing a number key and the tone associated with it. Overall, we are very pleased with the phone system.

5-0 out of 5 stars Looks good, and sounds good.
Exactly what I wanted, a land line phone in case of power outages, with a cordless extension. The sound quality is good on both phones, the speaker phone is excellent. Best of all is the ease of use of the of the called ID, the answering system and the many other features. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Love this phone!!!!
I received this phone last week as a birthday gift, and so far I love it.I put it on my amazon wishlist because I was reluctant to buy it myself after reading some negative reviews on here, but so far it was been really great. The color screen is pretty small, but that doesn't bother me too much.I like the selection of ringers, I like the orange backlight on the base and handset, and it was really easy to upload images onto the handset.
5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic phone
I love this phone. I wanted a new cordless phone and was so excited when I found this one. Talking is so clear and I love all the features. V Tech has always made great products.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best phone I ever had
I just got this phone and it is awesome. I had a Uniden that worked great as well but didn't have all the features the Vtech has. The sound is clear and the volume at the highest level is perfect. The messages left don't have any interference and it is as if the caller was next door. I hardly understand the problems some other customers have. I have NONE. The settings are very easy, the buttons are not too small for me, well, I really can't find anything negative to say.

4-0 out of 5 stars Decent Combo Phone System for the Money
I bought mine at the local discount warehouse for around $[...] with a rebate. The package included the corded base and 3 handsets.I've looked into a lot of different phones and read almost every review. When that wasn't enough, I went to the manufacturers' websites and read the manuals.I was looking for a 5.8 GHz with the same features as my old Siemens 2420 2.4GHz and this phone is closest I could come to matching it.The features are current with the exception of two:
4-0 out of 5 stars Perhaps the best of its kind -- at this price
I feel I owe readers this assessment, given how much wasted energy went into trying to find a suitable digital answering machine w/caller ID at a price under $80.I'm very happy with this machine and feel it has only a few flaws.

I would have rated 4 1/2 stars, just for the minor Cons below, but couldn't, so rated the full 5. Can't attest to the interference with a wireless network, because I'm not there yet but....

This phone set works perfectly and is a good value, but the compact handsets have small buttons.Their size and the hard-to-read, yellowish labels make it challening to find the desired buttons.

4-0 out of 5 stars Uniden9485
We've had this phone for about a month & when we first got it, the handset would ring at the same time as the base. But lately I've noticed that the handset doesnt ring/make a sound until about 1 second after the base.Another reviewer said the same thing for the 9485/2 and it's annoying. When this happens the handset is no more than 30ft from the base, so I know it's not a distance thing.Another thing is that the date/time/name "stays on" on the handset - which is a waste. The melodies/tones are "cheesy" like a lot of other reviewers have stated.

I can't tell you how many times I have been on the phone and wanted to scroll through my caller ID to get a number for someone I was talking to. No dice, it won't do that. There are a number of issues like that.I can't program it to prefer line 2 to make calls. You may think this is a not a big deal, except I don't like to reveal the line 1 number to my clients via there caller ID. So there went my private line.
1-0 out of 5 stars Complete piece of S***
Sound quality is poor more than about 20' away.I had to the move the base to the center of the house (rather than the kitchen where we wanted it) to get it to work at all.I had to return a unit. Now I'm stuck with it sort of working but with clicky-popy sound.Don't buy this system. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Lesson Learned
It was one of limited few that meet all my criteria for the home office.
3-0 out of 5 stars Good except for the outgoing message quality
I have just started using this phone today, and while it mostly lives up to my expectations, I have run into a major problem with the answering system:when I record the outgoing message on either line, the audio quality is extremely poor.I did just as the manual described - spoke at normal volume 9 in. from the unit - with poor results every time.I was also amazed that one is forced to record the announcement through the speakerphone, not the handset, making it sound as if it were recorded... well, over a speakerphone (but with an extra dose of poor audio quality). One worksaround is to record from the cordless handset, which allows you to use a headset.Still, bad quality even with the cordless handset.
3-0 out of 5 stars Problem on outgoing calls
I bought this phone as soon as it came out because it had the features I wanted. I have been generally pleased with it except for one major issue: every so often I will make a call and the party on the other end hears nothing. This is particularly frustrating since I can think I'm leaving a message on the other party's voicemail but nothing is recorded because my voice doesn't come through. While AT&T's Customer Service is virtually useless, they did replace the unit. Unfortunately the new phone has exactly the same problem. After trying endlessly to talk to a technical person, I was told that they have never had this complaint before. I can't believe that I just got two phones with exactly the same defect. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars I CANNOT BELIEVE I BOUGHT THIS CRAP!
bad comments about this product are correct.
4-0 out of 5 stars Nice product
Overall I am pleased with the purchase of this Swiss-army-knife of gadgets. I thought I would use the CD player more than I do, but it's nice to be able to wake up to some familiar tunes. The only real problem I have with the product is that the clock is hard to read (when I have my glasses off) as the digits are fairly small (this is a relative statement of course). My last clock has very large digits, so I'm still getting used to squinting and getting closer to the clock to see the time.

2-0 out of 5 stars Radio doesn't stay tuned
We like everything about this AM/FM alarm clock w/CD player EXCEPT the radio does not stayed tuned to the channel you are listening to.This is a real problem, and causes us to be dissatisfied with this product overall. Is there anything that can be done to fix this problem? ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Would not Buy it again
Nothing Special, disapointed with the distance the phone reaches. You better stay in the same room as the transmitter. After two rooms over, you will get static that makes it almost impossible to use. The answering machine I would rate a 4, it'sgood and simple to use. The Phone a 1. My 900 HZ, $14.99 cordless phone was a lot better then this. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars DOH!!!
Well, it looks nice, it's small, setup isn't hard, the sound is good, and it has several cute little ringtones. However, this phone has a major design flaw that makes it unusable for me:
3-0 out of 5 stars Beware Motorola, read the reviews first!
I bought this phone based on the the different functions that it offered. It has not been all bad, but after 2 months the cordless stopped holding a charge. Well, these things happen. I figured a quick call to Motorola would solve the problem. Boy, was I wrong. I can't get anywhere with them. So, I have to warn you. My phone barely works now (three months later), and Motorola refuses to make good on it. My advice is to stay away from all Motorola products, and most certainly this one.

1-0 out of 5 stars Skip this phone
The AC adapter for my phone just died so I call the phone number they plaster on the phone and on every manual. The recording says to email them or goto their website and then it hangs up.Why even give a phone number?I email them as instructed and the email comes back as not working. So I am still trying to figure out how to make a warranty claim.
1-0 out of 5 stars Seimens 8825 Gigaset system is junk
I was looking forward to getting this system for it's great features, but once I set this system up its been one moment of frustration after another. We began having problems with this system from day one.The cordless phone sound quality is horrible with annoying clicks and pops on all the 3 cordless phones that I purchased. The phones have problems with the redial and directory calling functions. It seems to have a problem not dialing the first digit of the calling number, so I have to manually dial the number EVERY time. This makes it useless for quick callbacks from either the directory or from the caller id list. The base system's LCD screen went out so that it displays only garbage on the screen. The cordless phones have an annoying intermittent contact problem with the chargers. They randomly begin beeping every 2 seconds until you slam the phone back in the charger.Calling their support people is a further exercise in frustration and gets me no where with this product. This is one of the worst and frustrating products I've ever purchased.Buyer beware.

1-0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your money on a Siemens phone system
It's unfortunate that one star is the lowest possible rating available, because this company deserves a minus five stars for its poor product and complete lack of customer support. Our very expensive system with five handsets worked when it was brand new, but four of the handsets have failed one by one and cannot be repaired. The company offers no support whatsoever, and the "self-service" web site doesn't work either. As of today the base unit of our system also stopped working on one line, so we are down to one line with one handset. We are shopping for a new phone system, but it will not be a Siemens. ...
